Can we all collectively agree Mephisto is Hikaru's song at this point?
Ai's compared him to a jewel, (星は宝石の憧れ)<Star(Hoshi)s are what Jewels long for
He says Ai's the girl he was willing to sacrifice his life for (CH154) わたしが命を賭けるから あげるから< I'll risk my life, I'll give it to you)
He was gaslit into believing he's empty and no one would ever love him (CH 146) 生まれつきだってば底なし<I told you, I was born of the abyss
These whole set of lyrics RIGHT here:
あなたに命が戻るなら 届くなら わたしはどうなろうと構わないのに どうやら総ては叶わない 叶わないならばあなたになりたい 星は砕け光る<"Hoshi wa kudake hikaru" has both their names in it
If life returns to you, if it reaches you I don't care what happens to me But not every wish will be fulfilled And if that's not realized I shall become you The stars shatter and shine
and with that settled, I think he wants to become "a star" like Ai because he's a "jewel". Jewels belong on the land, Stars are from the sky:
If him and her are really characters that are inspired by the gods, The one he's supposed to be inspired by is an EARTHLY GOD(Kunitsukami 国津神) while she's the SKY GOD(Amatsukami 天津神). Makes sense that he CAN'T reach her on his own where he is. Even that's fitting to the plot.
The god thing seems bizarre, I know, but this song has lyrics like:
誰と生きたか思い出して<Remember who you lived along with 誰を生きたか忘れちゃった!<I've forgotten who I lived as!
and these are some intriguing lyrics. It's as if he was a different kind of being in the past that's forgotten who he's lived with.
And these too:
らくになる日はまず来ない<Days of ease won't likely come 日々のなかに集まる悲しい光< Gathered within the days, a sad light
GATHERING "LIGHTS". His name is Hikaru Kamiki, if stars=gods in this universe, he's collecting the light(hikari/u) to become a god(kami) himself like Ai.
So that's what he means by "And if that's not realized, I shall become you." He wants to become like her and it IS said that she's become a star(CH118) it wasn't just a metaphor but, it's really what's happened in a literal sense.
I've already mentioned these a few times!! I'm sorry, but I can't help it. I'm listening to Mephisto again and I can't unhear this at all.
Everything that's described in the song must be what he's been striving for, only to be backed up and further enhanced by what's being said in Fatal. What the speaker's doing in both songs is essentially the same thing. The first and foremost goal that he'd had was to give Ai her life back, but that seems to have been in vain as seen from Mephisto's lyrics. He then really wants to get to where she is and see her again if that's possible. These songs display Hikaru's motive he's had behind the scenes. (I've talked a lot about Fatal like a whole lot, yeah, uh huh and these links aren't all, I'm crazy about that song) and I'm so sure that song's about him. It's what's got me to get down and draw stuff!! I am so sure. I won't discuss so much about that song this time)
but he gave all that up after having learned Ai doesn't want him to be lost. She never would have wanted him to die or do something reckless that'd destroy his life/kill him in the process. If she's like that about him, he must treasure what he has left of it. I believe that's why he stopped. He wanted to keep to her words...
It all makes sense that way... but will this ever be discussed in the plot if it is how it is? Because I need it to be there if it is! It gets to me whenever I listen to those two songs. I need explanations and plot development and it should, right? These are such powerful songs... I think they're spoilers to the plot along with IDOL, which has to do with the entire plot of onk(I still think there's something that's going to be the final blow/plot point left regarding that song. I feel like that song's implying how the ending's going to be)
Songs are really great, aren't they! I have so much fun listening to those and as for this fandom, it seems to be implying a whole lot of things.

Digi Dynamic Shipping Game
Send me two names among the following 12 and I’ll write a short analysis post about them:
Taichi Yagami | Yamato Ishida | Sora Takenouchi | Koushirou Izumi | Mimi Tachikawa | Jyou Kidou | Takeru Takaishi | Hikari Yagami | Daisuke Motomiya | Miyako Inoue | Iori Hida | Ken Ichijouji
Whether canon provides input on them or not.
Unfortunately I didn't make it before the end of Pride Month, but - while there are a lot of potentially queer ships in the subtext of the Digimon universe that fit the tone, there aren't as many of them that came this close to technically being confirmed as having a valid (canon) baseline as this one.
To ask if canon provides input on Daisuke and Ken - or Daiken, Kensuke, Daisuken, however you want to call them -, is, once again, like asking if water is wet; they're the most elaborated relationship in the entirety of Digimon Adventure 02, the majority of Ken's development is tied to his bond to Daisuke... If you want to read more about why I value their relationship so much, I definitely recommend this post here, because they're just... Endlessly fascinating to me.
The good-hearted goofball with self-esteem issues that lead him to play a role to impress others initially - meets a corrupted genius and literally slaps the darkness out of his system. They turn from fated rivals to fated partners, facing the powers of darkness together and eventually, they become better people in the process thanks to one another. Daisuke's entire priority system changes upon wanting to give Ken a chance, he not only becomes more honest and less defensive, but also lets his personal sense of courage and friendship shine through; Ken, who's initially reluctant to take the hand Daisuke is offering him due to all the guilt he feels, slowly but steadily becomes the kind and gentle soul that was always within him, because there is someone by his side who has his back. Always.
It's a beautiful story of two complementing souls, whose bond enables the first real Jogress evolution, despite the fact - or even because - they couldn't be any more different. It's a story of repentance, forgiveness, learning to befriend others despite your own trauma and differences - and the story of a romantic subtext that almost hits you in the face if you're not careful enough. There is a reason why the screenshot above exists - the most recent movie literally acknowledged that, even after all these years, the bond between Daiken has not vanished and has, instead, gained a somewhat (actively) flirtatious nuance. While it used to be Ken who blushed due to Daisuke's (oftentimes oblivious) bluntness, the same Ken is now forward enough to openly praise Daisuke in ways that make it impossible to overlook the potential implications here - well, for anybody who isn't Daisuke himself at least...
Whether I think why and how they’d work.
Given the circumstances that we're, unfortunately, not talking about a canonically confirmed ship, we just gotta pretend that there will be a day when Ken's attempts of asking Daisuke out will be answered in two potential ways: 1.) "Huh? YOU WERE FLIRTING WITH ME THE ENTIRE TIME????" or 2.) "Huh? I thought we were together this entire time anyway???" Because both of these would be somewhat plausible "Daisuk-esque" reactions in my opinion.
I thoroughly believe that these two would work out romantically in fantastic ways - even though it'd take a lot of work, but which relationship that intends to last doesn't? They both chose careers that require enormous amounts of time and energy - and very irregular working hours. Granted, the latter applies to the majority of the Chosen Children, but an aspiring chef of his own Ramen cart may only be able to see an aspiring police officer if the latter's break time allows him to grab a meal at a Ramen facility that is coincidentally very close by... Gate hopping may have made that a lot easier, but at this point, we don't even know if that is still a thing anymore.
I still maintain that, as much as they'd be married to their jobs, they both still have quite a romantic side to themselves once the curse is broken - so they would make time, just like they did throughout all these years. While their interests in general might also be quite different, they would always find a way to bond over their mutual love for sports, football in particular. Ken needs someone who pulls him out of his head - and Daisuke needs someone who grounds him, which, as The Beginning suggested, is (basically) exactly their dynamic. They always enjoy group gatherings with their friend groups, food tastings are always a reason for Daisuke to invite everybody over - especially to lure Ken away from work. And let's be real, I can also see them go on cheesy dates - that mostly consist of them doing sporting activities (any kind of ball sport, rollerskating, hiking) where Daisuke can (pretend to) be competitive and Ken knowingly plays along with the teasing, just so they have an excuse to be close. Because they'd be cheesy like that, oh Lord, they'd be so cheesy in the most wanna-be-bro way possible.
Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship.
In a universe in which Miyaken doesn't become canon, there is literally no reason for Daiken not to be endgame - unless the writers actually had some guts and turned them into an official OT3 in The Beginning. Of course I can always enjoys them as just platonic life partners, bros 4 life, you don't even have to give it a label, as long as they remain as close as they are. Because they simply belong together, one way or another.

The plushies are existing merchandise of the two from the Square Enix Nuigurumi series. I still don't understand why they didn't give Aqua's plush her pretty skirt but I decided to keep it according to how they made it just to keep it the same.

The sudden thought that I got about combining AvM with the Madoka Magica universe was both a blessing and a curse.
For you see, it is very hard for me to design outfits that are both visibly magical costumes, reflect personality/skills, and also don't get too much in the way when fighting. Capes that are long and flowy? Can snag and the enemy can grab them. Belts that are too long? Similar. Combined with the fact that even the characters that prefer ranged at least get one 1vs1 melee moment in the series? Yeah...
So I ended up with these. No long capes that are too long (unless you count Purple's elytra), the belts aren't overly long either and the robes tend to stay close to the body. I might make full reference sheets later.
For individual details:
Red/Kouya Akane: He's both more melee-oriented and loves his animals, so I gave him claws as a weapon. Also dressed him like a fighter. Orange cats (or, well, nekomata in his case) tend to be the craziest and realistically it's the closest color they can have to red.
Green/Midorikawa Matsuri: The one slight exception on the rule. I feel like Green flatout wouldn't really care as long as he looks good. Longcoat and aristocratic vibes included.
Second Coming/Sairin: He's the most neutral of them. The way his hair frames his face and the orange lines over his body are very much on purpose.
Blue/Aoharu Mizuki: Threw a little bit of mori fashion aesthetic alongside that of an alchemist. The reason why his hair accessoiries are a dark red should be obvious.
Yellow/Kise Hikari: I didn't want to make him look like a stereotypical nerd entirely, and I love opposite tropes in one, leading me to the choice of making him gyaruo-styled as well as just giving him a coat (both like a wizard and a scientist) and a Soul Gem suggesting a third eye.
King Orange/Sayu Hachirou: The most important thing here is that I modeled his scepter after the flower in his name, the orange lily. I also wanted to really show that he's an adult.
Purple/Fujiwara Yukari: As his elytra are very recognizable, I didn't change them in any way. Slight ouji vibes.

Two things I wanna know! (feel free to ignore obviously ^^ )
What are your top 5 favorite characters and why are they your favorite? Could be current favorites, favorites over the years that you still like, favorites in general, etc. Also any media
And/or gimme 1-5 of your ocs - whether they're your favorite, most recent, the one you've been having fun with recently, etc. Tell me some fun facts about them, and why you picked them!
Hope you're having a great day/night - and remember to stay hydrated!
TOP 5 CHARACTERS (AT THE MOMENT, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)
Elizabeth
My pookie! She got done so dirty by Nakaba, I could write a dissertation about how she deserves a better character arc than she was given and exactly how to do it. My version of her is so OOC that when I watch the series, it feels weird for her to be so different from how I think of her.
Nezuko
Okay, maybe I'm a sucker for poorly written female characters that deserve a better story. I wrote a fic where she learns sign and actually has complicated feelings about her brother, the Hashira and Urokodaki, which I wish the series would have explored more outside of 'oh it's fine/I forgot'.
Sukuna
I AM NOT HORNY ABOUT HIM. I AM A BIG FAT DYKE. I do think he's a well written villain in the sense that he's likeable enough not to be annoying, but not so likeable that he stops being an antagonist. It's hard to put your main villain and hero in the same body, but I think Gege does it wonderfully.
Meliodas
This list would be incomplete without him. Like Elizabeth, I have such a different conception of him in my brain than exists in canon, when I watch the series it feels like a different character completely. His concept is so good and juicy, he just happened to be written by a man.
Cast of Neon Genesis Evangelion
They gave us so much. My first mecha anime and my first psychological/existential/philosophical anime all in one! I can't think of a badly written character in this entire show, but it definitely exists on a different scope to me. It's just so far beyond what a lot of other shows want to say/have the writing to say. That said I do think Cyberpunk Edgerunner was a great show to follow it with, matched the futuristic vibes, complex characters and philosophical message well.
TOP 5 OCs (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)
Hikari (NNT)
I think she is my oldest OC out of this entire list at 5 years old this spring. I've seriously put her through so much for the plot, and at this point I think she and her entire universe have safely exited hyperfixation and entered special interest territory. Her ass is going nowhere soon, and even if I spend time with other OCs, it always comes back to her. I have her entire life developed from birth to at least ~50, and trust me, it's not all pretty. Some of it is! But not all of it.
Tristan (NNT)
He's only younger than Hikari by about two weeks, so almost 5 years for him. Not the same as 4KOTA Tristan, I heard that the canon melizabeth kid was named Tristan and went 'oh, sounds good I'll take it' before 4KOTA even came out. The two could not be more different. I almost put him and Hikari in the same entry, they come as a unit like that, but he deserves his own paragraph. He has also gone through more than any normal person would have put him through, but I am no normal bitch. I need a shirt that says 'I put blond men in situations'.
Natsuri Fujikawa (Demon Slayer)
She's much younger than the twins at about 1.5, but I'm still loving her storyline and plot development. She's in the Demon Slayer universe, and is only 10 when she goes through the Horrors, which might be a mary-sue type deal but I really don't care. It brings me joy. Does it say something about me that forced cannibalism, kidnapping and psychological torture sparks joy? Maybe. I haven't written any of her stuff down yet, I should probably do that.
Misoka (HXH)
Older than Natsuri but younger than the twins, let's call it about two years. Her story is a little looser, but goes through more ups and downs than straight misery punctuated by moments of brightness. She's fun for when I need a little more variety in the delusions, but is still versatile enough for me to put her in Situations and have it feel normal. I probably owe her an apology for making her try to kill her adoptive family.
Claudia and One (OG)
The original strangers -> friends -> lovers. I wrote a hundred pages of angst and whump about you before it was flagged by my middle school and I got called into the counselor's office because of it. Shoutout to the social worker who told me it was good writing and that I should keep working on it, I just had to move it off of my school account. You were a real one.

Did my best to summarize some points of interest from this article. This is not a comprehensive translation and is mostly a summary.
Interview is with Mr. Hikari Yasui who is the producer and director of the game
Discussion around reviving Madou Monogatari as an IP started ~2021. The company's president, Naoto Tominaga, said that if they did do it, it would be best done with people who previously worked at Compile.
They wanted to make this one a proper continuation so they talked to D4 in the process early about that, and got help from SEGA so that it would properly fit into the universe of Madou Monogatari
Since Fia is a proper continuation, he didn't really give any consideration to Sei Madou Monogatari. Sei Madou was an attempt at making a "new" madou monogatari so that's why the item names/magic spell names are all different
since Fia was planned to be a true continuation from the start that's why they really started with " Madou Monogatari 4" as the temporary name. They changed the title later on to emphasize that Fia is the protagonist .
In terms of selecting characters, Carbuncle and the Puyos were highest on the priority list of like getting rights for/appearing in the game. All of the returning characters from Madou were selected based on advice from Yonemitsu and they're making sure not to stray too far from like, intention/writing? under Yonemitsu's supervision and Sega's.
Biggest influences are Yonemitsu and Oda, and the ways they wrote/designed their respective games are pretty different… Yasui talks about how Yonemitsu'sis a lot more stoic/self-disciplined while Oda's is more entertaining
Basically Yonemitsu joined the project first and the idea that Oda should participate as well just popped up naturally and was suggested by Yonemitsu himself. Oda also has history with compile heart's president and he mostly helped to oversee the setting/worldbuilding and the story
Not sure if I got this part right, I think this part says that because Yonemitsu and Oda have very different outlooks on Madou Monogatari, there are some parts that have probably been reconciled between their perspectives?
安井 先ほども少し触れた通り、米光さんと織田さんにはそれぞれの『魔導物語』観みたいなところに違いがあるので、結果的にお2人の『魔導物語』観を融和させたような部分はあったかもしれません。
when asked if he feels there are any gaps between Fia and previous Madou Monogatari works, Yasui says that Madou can be both heartwarming and dark, but because of the game's rating and how this story is more about Fia's growth, they had to keep the dark elements within certain boundaries
regarding the parameters, I think they have sadly had to make them more explicit and give numerical stats because they modernized the game, but they felt like the motto of (original) madou monogatari was that even if you don't understand the system at first, you will grow along with your character by just experiencing it…so theyve tried to capture a similar feeling in Fia.
yasui says something to the effect of "you can think of this game as part of madou monogatari's chronological continuity, but i don't really have a specific timeframe where it takes place" when asked if this fits into the games' continuity.
――改めての質問となりますが、本作は『魔導物語』のシリーズの年表の中に正式に組み込まれた作品だと考えてよろしいでしょうか。 安井 具体的に「何年の出来事」とは明言していませんが、そう考えていただいて問題ありません。

One of the best parts of Geo Wily is that Luna will eventually show up.
I can't decide if its funnier if she ignores the cult completely or starts trying to organise them so Geo can actually go to school. She definitely doesn't really blame him in this universe.
She's seen what they can do when Geo isn't holding the toddler leash. (He had a sick day.) They would have broken all of the transportation infrastructure if they didn't get a wheezy call from "boss" telling them to knock it off. This was a couple years ago. Who knows what they'd do now.
If Luna just. Casually ignores them there'd be shenanigans involving the Cult trying to recruit an entire school. Luna'd have enemies.
If she helps organise the Cult the cult thinks they're all dating. Geo has a poly? Dating a superstar girl too? Okay. Kid has skills. (Geo only learns they think this several years later.) But hey. They also listen to his friends now?
When the cult finds out about Megaman they are super supportive about "stealing your enemies' name!" Less supportive about the superhero bit. Mostly because he's being chased by cops already. Why is he making it worse. The cult declares Zero (I hope that's the name Kazuma uses. I might be guessing wrong. Limited knowledge) their enemy arount this time. Balance semi restored.
No matter what all happens Wily is insistent that this is all according to his plan. (There is no plan. Wily is a liar. Wily is just glad his kid has friends his own age.)
Hope knows about none of this. Kelvin was very careful to keep her away from the Cult. She has made friends with the Cultists that drop Geo off regularly. She thinks they're Kelvin's cousins. Geo is sufferig with knowledge. The Cult behaves when Hope is arount. Help Geo. Please?
Omega-Xis and Wily teach these kids swears. They are horrible influences. Tom gets adopted by Wily and the cult. Geo only hears little stories. Geo does not know what is actually happening and asks the Cult to keep him safe from any rivals. Making it worse. Viscous cycle. Boreal keeps increasing security but they "kEEP GETTING IN THEY'RE LIKE ANTS I SWEAR! Oh hey Geo. Can you do something? It usually gets better for a bit when I talk to you. Because today Tom got-" it takes years for everyone to figure it out.
Geo still area hops. Confusing every cop keeping and ear out for the Wily heir. Copper is the only one not worried about plans. Copper has seen Geo yell at his cult that he has no words and then lecture them about not causing chaos for four hours. Copper at this point has seen some shit.
The Cult (and Wily) only really get dissapointed in Geo and Co. when they work for the police in three. And even then The Cult also does not want a meteor to the face so they can deal with it *cue another four hour Geo lecture.*
Kazuma should help with the meteor. I just think it'd be funny if they met while neither was ripping the other's name to shred by mistake. Bonding.
Solo is still normal Solo. The cult wants him. The cult will never get him. They want the rival on their side damn it!
Sorry just now I'm invested. (God fucking damn it I already have things to do.)
LOLOL
Okay, so--
I think Luna would regard Geo as a rival. Think of it! He has so many supporters already, and actually Luna discourages Geo from going to school (Geo never goes back to public school in this verse, too busy with homeschooling multiple grades ahead and his rivalry with one Kazuma Hikari.) They get into shenanigans with each other, and Luna decides she wants a cult following of her own. (The world trembles.)
The cult is so supportive of the tiny Boss. He's doing the Great Wily SO PROUD! He's stealing the enemy's name, taking all their supporters.....more people for the cult! They sell merchandise. Geo is appalled.
When Zero shows up (you got it!), they at first fight then become best friends. The cult decides Kazuma Hikari is absolutely the tiny Boss's right hand man. Look at the tiny boss go, subverting the enemy!
Hope is blissfully unaware of the chaos. The Cult loves her and her glorious cooking and baking. Geo is dying in the background.
Omega-Xis and Wily are best friends, in the vein of two old men cackling together in a back room. Yes yes yes to the swears, and yes to Tom getting adopted--Boreal also gets adopted. No he has no say why would he have a say?
Geo area hops, and the Cult is Confused but Very Supportive of his speed. He's expanded their reach! Look at his initiative! They follow wherever he goes, only to find him gone already. Oh well, guess it's time to start recruiting and sell merchandise......
They're disappointed at first until they realize the tiny Boss can destroy the police from within! Such initiative!
Kazuma is helping with the meteor. Such a terror. The Cult loves their right-hand man.
Solo is the lone sane man along with Geo. Geo and Solo meet up for drinks (read, soda) and to commiserate about their lives.

As soon as video games started to have character creation, I always would make a female character to play with. Because I thought because I am a girl, I need to play as a girl. It would be weird to play as a guy as a girl. But also... those characters were never my self insert. I never wanted to play as me. My husband always just makes himself and gives his character his name, but I never gave her my name or my looks. I think once I named a character after myself after my husband prompted me to and it felt so WEIRD! That was not me, that was a character! I should have named her something else! Then when WoW came around, I discovered roleplaying. I created characters and I gave them backstories. But they still were all girls. Until I decided to give it a try and make a male character. Long story short, that one is one of my longest and most beloved OCs now. And since then... something in me... changed, I guess? I suddenly figured out that I can just make up some guy. But it still took a while. In the meantime I found a way to make my "self insert" work. I always called her "Hikari" (my real name means light and as the weeb I am I used the japanese word for light as nickname) but I always made her in a way that didn't look like me. Red hair, pretty face, only thing from me were the green eyes and I only chose them because they look so good with red hair. If you see me play as a "Hikari" that is my self insert, but I never feel that it is me. And Hikari never ever turns in an OC. That is just my avatar to play the game. Well, but since I created my first male WoW OC I was thinking... why do I always make female characters and they go nowhere? And then I tried to make more guys. And now we have Tempest. And I put Laurence into a bunch of different universes so that he is basically my OC of that universe. And then I made my Tarnished Tobias and while he still needs work, he has a story. And at the same time, I gave another woman character a chance and made Blaze and having a character that is not meant to be myself is so much more fun to me. And when I started FF14 I was like "Heck yeah, I am going to make a catboy RIGHT away" and even though I needed some time to figure him out, I am obsessed over this OC now. I don't even know where I want to go with this... but I think... my OCs and blorbos are a way for me to explore what being a man is like without being one myself? I don't think I am transmasc. I don't want to transition into a man at all. I love female clothing and presenting female. But... I often wish I could just change genders at will or grow a dick and basically be futanari... which is part of why I identify as demigirl under the non binary spectrum. I don't know... I think I just wanted to talk about what it means to me to have male OCs and why I don't like to self insert.

Digimon Tamers - Episode 1
Dear God...the vibes are immaculate. THIS WAS SO GOOD! So cinematic! So atmospheric! What a fabulous pilot episode. I'm definitely hooked. I'm trying not to overhype this show because the internet has sung its praises to the high heavens and I don't want to be let down. Let's take it one episode at a time and see how it goes :) (so far, so good).
Notes:
-So many thoughts, so many questions. Firstly, I'm getting the vibe that this is a parallel universe to the worlds of Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02. In those worlds digimon weren't a fictional concept (as far as I know) before they became real. In this world Takato knows digimon from video games and TCG before he meets one in person. Also. the world isn't aware that digimon are real, so this wouldn't be in the 02 world post-epilogue.
-A very small cast in this one! Only 3 kids (so far). I think this could be a very good thing. Tighter writing and more developed characters. These kids have barely said anything but they already feel more 3 dimensional than the 02 kids lol. Also, their designs are a lot more subdued which I think helps with the realistic feel.
-Culumon was...a little annoying, but cute at the same time. I love his retractable ears and that he asks a zillion questions like a toddler. Just wish he didn't say "culu" ever 2 seconds lol. He looks like a magical girl companion.
-We're still in Tokyo, Shinjuku this time around. Will we ever get a Digimon MC who's a country bumpkin? That could be fun.
-The gamer in me shudders at all of the new digimon that are about to be introduced. Good thing I'm not a "raise them all" kind of completionist.
-Digimon TCG anime debut! When they were like "Option card!" I was like "omg! I know that! I know the rules!" I wonder if the TCG will show up again or if they just used it to kickstart the plot?
-Takato's school DOESN'T have uniforms!? What kind of anime school is this!? (No seriously, I thought that was more of a rural school thing).
-I can relate to Takato designing his own digimon during class. I totally did that in elementary school too (with Pokemon as my inspo tho)
-I'm not in love with the new digivice design (a little bulky), but I like that it has a keychain strap. How practical!
-I'm not sure where Takato is getting the "tamers" vocab from. I don't think that would be referenced too much in the TCG, so he must be getting it from the video games.
-Love that Takato lives above his family's bakery. Give me ALL the anime food!
-I just googled this, but apparently the "guil" in "Guilmon" comes from "guilty." Didn't see that coming. I thought it might be Gila monster lol. Of course we get another stinkin' dinosaur-like digimon for the MC. Oh well. I guess that's what the little boys like. He's kinda cute, I suppose
-I don't know the main girl's name yet, but damn, what a badass! I feel like we haven't gotten this kind of female character yet. Closest would be maybe Hikari in her edgier moments, but she's more on the sweet side. I know that the furries like her partner digimon lol (Renamon, I believe?) To be honest, I'm not sold on her design yet. I think it's a little weird looking. Maybe she'll grow on me.
-When Guilmon's egg hatched I thought he died lol. I forgot that an egg cracked in half can be a good thing too.
-I was kind of giggling when they kept showing the scientists in their cyberpunk chairs and wearing VR headsets. Very 2000s sci-fi vibes (still looks cool, don't get me wrong). When they kept saying "wild one" I was just thinking "hey I heard you were a wild one oooooh~"
-When Jianliang's sister dropped Terriermon on his face I died lol. Why was that so funny? I'm so making a gif later...
-My guy (Takato) really saw a rat infested tunnel and just crawled right through it. I hope you have a good immune system because Jesus...
-The concept of Takato meeting a digimon and then immediately realizing "oh wait, a fire breathing dinosaur IRL is maybe not a good thing" was great. And of course they had to use it as a cliff hanger! I'm wondering if Guilmon will be able to speak or if he'll be more baby-like.
-Guilmon's existence raises many questions. I guess we technically already knew that people can create digimon, we've seen that happen. However, we haven't seen it happen so casually/easily. Does Takato have some sort of special power or can multiple people do this? Also, if Guilmon was born at child level, what happened to the previous 2 levels. Did Takato draw those in his notebook so they're just coded in there?
(My questions are all rhetorical...I shall wait for the show to answer them, so no spoilers please).

life update.........................
if u follow my ffnet u have probably gotten a notif that ive posted a new chapter of renaissance... lol ..................................................
ok here is the thing theres j 1 chapter left in that fic and it's a massive timeskip and the plot is j hikari (akisako) realizing shes in love w kaede (sorina) and then kaekari being endgame ...?? idk if i wanna post it tho!!!
more importantly ive been writing this actual fleshed out story for the occasional brain stimulation and it features most of the cast of renaissance but in college exploring careers other than food. also a lot of it centers around the fact that all the kids of the shokugeki hc couples are expected to be chefs and i honestly really liked the idea of sorina daughter not even being a chef at all despite having the god tongue... i thought why not expand on that w the rest of the kids (auden is a pure math major) and have them go to university instead ... most of the names are changed and shit (totsuki becomes the dunruth lugo school... auden dunruth is the heir... etc) ... almost everything is based off my hcs for the shokugeki couples in masquerade verse...? (for example hikari hayama's dad being dean of the dunruth lugo group in the same way that in masquerade akira is dean of totsuki) and also im writing pieces of the narrative horrifically out of chronological order with no BUT if you guys would be interested in some light reading material (that will inevitably get heavier later on bc they all have severe issues) !!! i'd be happy to share (on occasion. im talking like one update every other month at most lol)

that’s not a pure word
header by @/earlgreymon
a super late gift for @sincerelytan!!!
this is so exciting for me because this has been in the works for a long time but i FINALLY got around to finishing it even though it’s a little short. i feel it’s because the ending never really got to me? so i re-did it a few times and i finally found the right groove. i hope you like it!!
that’s not a pure word | main characters ; yamato ishida, mimi tachikawa, satoshi ishida (oc) | universe ; au / no digimon partners | ships ; yamato x mimi | genre ; humor, family | word count ; 1,077 | rating ; g | edited ; three times - forgive me for any mistakes
Yamato and Mimi had just finished preparing Satoshi’s birthday dinner. He cooked the food and she baked the cake. It was just a simple party, just the three of them for now. Or four counting the baby inside Mimi. Satoshi liked to count them in already.
“Happy birthday, Satoshi-kun,” Mimi greeted as she brought out the cake. There were five small blue candlesticks on it and as soon as she placed it on the table, her son blew them all out with a single whoosh. “You haven’t even made your wish!” she gasped.
“I’ve already made my wish,” Satoshi said with a huge grin. “But I’m not going to tell you,” he added in a sing-song voice.
“You’re keeping secrets from us now?” Yamato asked, his voice steady, but he tried his best to hide the tiny smile he had on his face.
Satoshi giggled. “Only my wishes.”
“How can we make your wish happen if we don’t know about it,” Mimi asked teasingly.
“Tenma-onii-chan said that you should never tell your birthday wishes. I should only tell Tenma-oii-chan and Akihito-onii-chan.” Satoshi crossed his arms and nodded.
Yamato sighed. “Such a Takeru thing to do.”
Mimi laughed. “Next thing you know, Michiru-chan is acting like Hikari.”
“Mama,” Satoshi called, “do you think the baby will be a girl?”
Mimi tilted her head a little. “We haven’t asked the doctor,” she admitted. “We kind of want it to be a surprise.”
“Why? How will you pick out his or her name?”
“We have names ready,” Yamato answered. “But we want this to be a surprise this time.”
“But why?”
Yamato and Mimi looked at each other. “No reason, really,” Yamato said. “That’s just the way we want it to be.”
Satoshi frowned. “I wished for a baby sister.”
Mimi smiled. “Let’s hope the baby is a baby sister then.”
“But what if the baby is a boy?”
Yamato crouched to his level. “Will you not love him?”
Satoshi shook his head. “I will, but I want a baby sister like Chiru-chiru-chan.”
“Girl or boy, you’ll be the best big brother ever.” Yamato patted his head and grinned. “You take after me after all!”
Days later, Mimi and Satoshi were out shopping. They were going on a short holiday during the summer and Yamato wanted them to buy clothes while the season was still far. Mimi laughed and said that they did not have to worry. Yamato argued about the crowd.
As Mimi looked around, Satoshi was happily trotting beside her. She had bought him a new, small basketball set. While the headboard and net were in the cart, he was holding the ball. He was dribbling carefully but at some point, the ball rolled a little further. Luckily, there were not many people and he knew he could follow and get it without getting separated from his mother.
“Shit.” He quickened his pace and caught the ball before returning to the side of his mother. “I got it back.”
“What did you just say?” Mimi asked. Satoshi could not tell what was wrong with what he said.
“I got it back,” he repeated.
“No the–no, never mind. Just don’t say that again.” Mimi shook her head.
“I got it back?” he asked once more.
Mimi stopped in her tracks and bent down. “Shit. Don’t say that word ever again.”
“But Papa says it all the time when something falls,” he defended.
Mimi sighed. “He’s sleeping on the couch tonight,” she murmured.
“Why?”
His mother pursed her lips. “I’m going to talk to Papa, okay? But whatever happens. You do not say that word again, okay? Ever. You got that?”
Satoshi nodded. “Okay.”
Later that day, Satoshi was playing with the basketball set in his room when he heard his mother raise her voice. He could not make out what she was saying but he knew she was mad at his father. He wondered why that single word broke into an argument.
Night came and he was thirsty. He got up from bed and headed for the kitchen to grab a glass of water. As he entered the kitchen, he saw his father lying on the couch, a blanket covering his body. He walked over to the sleeping man and nudged him awake.
“Papa.”
Yamato opened his eyes and turned to look at him. “Why are you still up?”
“I was thirsty,” he said. “Why are you sleeping on the couch?”
Yamato grinned. “I made Mama angry.”
“Is it because of that word I said?”
“The one you’re not allowed to say?”
He nodded.
“Maybe.” Yamato twisted his body. “Do you want to sleep beside me tonight?”
Satoshi smiled. Yamato threw the covers up and the young boy climbed up. Once settled, Yamato fixed the blanket and hugged his son tight.
“Goodnight, Papa.”
“Goodnight, Satoshi-kun.”
Months later, Yamato and Satoshi entered the room. Satoshi begged his father to tell him if the newborn was a baby sister or brother. Although he really wanted a baby sister, he would still love his baby brother with all his heart and more. “Girl or boy?” he asked again.
Yamato shook his head. “I’m not going to tell you.”
“Satoshi-kun, come here, meet your baby sibling!” Mimi had a huge grin on her face, the baby in her arms.
“What’s a sibling?” he asked, looking up at his father.
“A brother or a sister, a general term,” Yamato replied.
Satoshi did not know what “general term” meant but he understood through the first part that a sibling is either a brother or sister or both. “That’s smart,” he said.
Yamato hauled Satoshi up to the bed and the brunette little boy excitedly crawled up to his mother and looked at the baby. The baby was sleeping and had blonde hair like his dad. He tilted his head from side to side, not sure if the baby was a brother or sister. He looked up at his smiling mother and asked, “I don’t know.”
“What did you want to name your baby sister?” she asked.
“Kiyo,” he said right away. “It means purity, doesn’t it? Akihito-onii-chan told me what purity means.”
“I hope it isn’t the other meaning,” Yamato muttered under his breath. But Satoshi did not understand what he meant.
“Kiyo,” Mimi said. “What do you think, Yamato?”
“I think it’s perfect,” he replied, patting his son’s head. “Better than any name we thought of.”
Mimi brought her arm forward. “Satoshi-kun, meet Kiyo.”

Sorato are a very interesting and - at this point in time - unique case in regards to canonically confirmed relationships in the Digimon universe. Despite the fact that they had been shown to have started dating through the course of Digimon Adventure 02 - with the epilogue showing them to have two children together -, the ongoing course of the series post 02 is... Incredibly vague about them to say the least. Disclaimer: I am not intending to bash the ship, this is a personal analysis post in which I am trying to analyze it from my point of view based on what we're being shown. And I want to thank my dearest @dutchforstrangers and @jamesthedigidestined for all the input I got over the years to put this into words!
First of all, Digimon Adventure presented Sora and Yamato as very interesting parallels to one another, hinting at a certain family angle in subtext. To summarize it: They're both prone to try and handle things by themselves, hiding their true feelings behind masks as they both believe that they don't have what it takes to activate or even deserve their respective Crests at first, Love and Friendship. This is in part thanks to their shared familial trauma and strained relationships with their mothers. It’s why they’re so prone to being engulfed by darkness, why their dark caves are dangerous manifestations of their declining mental health, self-doubt and fears. That is why the soul-searching is needed, repeatedly so. It’s why they understand each other’s need to be left alone - which is something we will see throughout the entirety of the Adventure series for both of them. By the end of the first season, Sora had already been on her way to reconciliation with her own mother and, after everything she went through, was able to reassure Yamato that he could go on to find his own path as she did hers before, believing that he could do it too. In return, Yamato had been put - and eventually also put himself - in the position to pull Sora out of her own state of darkness as well. Because he had been there himself, he was finally able to put things into words. (Which may or may not be influenced by Yamato also perceiving Sora as a motherly figure, reminding him of his and Takeru's mother, according to the novels.)
Them being the way they are is also why they need Takeru’s softness and Taichi’s persistence (as well as Jyou’s support and Mimi’s reassurance at different times) to get it back together again. They have to be reminded that they don’t HAVE TO be alone in all this (even if they often choose to).
I want to underline Taichi's importance in particular here - because even though he reassures Sora to go for Yamato in 02, encouraging her to actively pursue what and whom she herself wants for once... Canon is very reluctant to openly state that they're actually a couple and the ongoing debate on whether or not the Digimon staff was ever fully settled on them being endgame or not doesn't help matters. (I will not open that debate once more, just know that this is still a thing.) On one hand, there is official art depicting them as close, with him usually having an arm around her shoulder, so "show don't tell" does apply here!
But on the other hand, the 02 audio drama "Armor Evolution to the Unknown" has a very... Debatable way to refer to them. "Daisuke’s Great Valentine’s Day Plan" has the other girls gossip over how they think that Yamato must really have a hard time enduring Sora's wrath and that they probably won't last through a fight; "Armor Evolving in Chaos" implies that Sora is asking herself why Yamato has been "so cold to her recently", causing him to desperately sing a love song for her...
It all feels very awkward and rocky. And to get back to Taichi here: The aftermath of 02 mainly shows us a somewhat dysfunctional bond between these three friends and it's very unclear what is even going on between them. For example, there is their portrayal in Diablomon Strikes Back; the way the picture of Yamato and Sora gets leaked causes the group to react in shock, followed by awkward silence... And the way Sora eventually leaned towards Taichi instead of Yamato, to this day, is reason for the fandom to debate on what the - at that time - current state of Sorato is. The writers of Tri even mention that "no official relationships are going on between [Taichi, Sora and Yamato]", which begs the question as to whether or not it had worked out in the end. We don't know if, when or why Sora and Yamato broke up, what their stance is towards each other. Just like the foundation of the relationship itself, we do not actively hear what they mean to each other outside of weird, non-canon audio drama humour - and all we get is vague subtext and a forced (somewhat fanservice-y) love triangle that was never supposed to be one in the first place.
I say forced, because in usual fandom portrayals of the "traingle", it's Taichi and Yamato "fighting" over Sora's affections, which is, never, not even once, confirmed to be true - and while Sora is being put into a position in Tri that implies that she has to pick between them (aka Yamato's concert and Taichi's football match)... It never actually happens. Instead, in the end, Sora and Yamato both appear to be more likely to have feelings for Taichi than for each other, but that is a whole different box of pandora to open up.
Long story short - canon has never settled on how to commit to them and thus, the infamous Taiorato fandom wars had never really come to an end. Which is a shame, because the initial set-up in Adventure would have allowed for a lot of mutual growth and healing potential due to Sora's and Yamato's shared experiences and view-points. Unfortunately, the anime decided to never really SHOW them spending actual screentime for the sake of bonding together post their scenes in Adventure, neither in 02 nor in Tri. And if they talk to each other - it is usually about Taichi. Tri does include little nods towards them (hands on shoulders, little reaction shots, mostly on Sora's behalf), but is equally prone to depict a visible distance between them, culminating in Yamato not noticing that Sora, by the end of the series, had cut her hair even shorter than before (so he's getting called out by Takeru for not being very observant). Kizuna at least implies that Yamato knows what Sora is up to - but the only scenes that actually include her have her be concerned for Piyomon and Taichi instead...
The epilogue itself had also always been reason to speculate for decades by now; in comparison to Miyaken - which had actually gotten quite a solid foundation in the most recent movie -, there had been a visible physical distance between Sorato while talking to their children, which heated up fan speculations as to whether they're still together at this point in time...
Whether I think why and how they’d work.
As I haven't been able to keep it shortly up there after all, you may be able to tell that I am somewhat frustrated with their portrayal. Whether production quarrels got in the way or not, whether they've been trying to undo the damage by keeping things as vague as possible throughout all these years, I am not able to tell. What I do know is that - Digimon never shied away from giving us realistic interpersonal relationships. We've seen it all, between friends, siblings, parents and children, married couples... The sad part here is - that also includes relationships that are not meant to last.
And as much as it may sting, as promising as their initial parallels may have been... To refer back to my previous analysis post, maybe their mutual tendencies to "pull back and isolate themselves" had been (one of) the reason(s) why they were not right for each other in the long run. Do not get me wrong, I support the idea that Sora had developed feelings for Yamato as a teenager - they were 14 years old, they had been through life-changing events together and related to each other due to their strained mother-relationships... Again, we never really hear how they feel about each other, but: Why wouldn't Sora feel drawn to Yamato as a kindred spirit, someone who could understand her and already proved to be able to give her the space she needed in the past? Let's also not forget that we're also still talking about Sora Takenouchi here - she's a born caretaker, even if she doesn't want to be reduced to that role, she is still naturally loving. So it also makes sense for Yamato to fall for her, to feel cared for, loved and wanted? To get the affection he had always craved while simultaneously being able to live out his own protective side? Heck yeah! In theory - it makes perfect sense! Let teenagers experiment, have fun, figure themselves out!
But canon also shows us that they - and Taichi - actually turn out to be quite... Dysfunctional young adults due to a LOT of unresolved self-esteem issues, mental health problems and a lack of a clear identity path. Adventure and 02 had shown them to be on a good way, but... Puberty apparently didn't allow them to work on their issues in healthy ways, which applies to all three of them - which, once again, is mirrored in the dysfunctional bond between them as well as in the fact that THEY were chosen to be the ones shown to lose their partnerships in Kizuna.
For some reason, Yamato and Sora had drifted apart and, as far as we can tell, were not able to rekindle their initial romantic attraction by the time of Kizuna/The Beginning. Instead, there were, apparently, a lot of confused feelings for Taichi involved... And an inability to open up to themselves and each other about their dreams, aspirations, paths. They tried to become "performative adults" - and lost themselves in the process. Sora is the literal embodiment of the "I'm going my own way by myself" as of Kizuna, distancing herself from literally everyone once more while she still follows in her mother's footsteps - and Taichi and Yamato did very similar things.
My impression here is that, even if Sora and Yamato did eventually get back together again at some point, maybe after doing some more soul-searching and getting in touch with themselves again, getting their Digimon back... I'm not sure if they'd last. Especially if you consider Yamato's career path as an astronaut, who'd spend quite some time away from home, whereas Sora would not only be tasked with her own, probably very time- and energy-consuming career as a fashion designer; she'd also have to take care of their two children by herself... Which kinda delegates Yamato back to his initial lone-wolf-persona he never even wanted to have, literally forced to keep a physical distance, probably doomed to follow in his own parents' footsteps of being incapable of maintaining a happy, balanced marriage... It's not that he doesn't WANT to break through generational trauma, quite the contrary, he is a hands-on person after all, especially when he has set his mind to something - but he's not always the most observant and vocal when it comes to the subject of his own relationships and we know how he tends to deal with conflict, he either gets unintentionally hurtful or... Leaves. And since Sora can also very easily lash out when she feels cornered, Yamato might not be capable to give himself or her what they need - just like the silly audio drama once implied. Especially because after everything she went through, Sora needs as much reassurance and validation as he does - and living through a marriage in which her husband would be away just as much as her own father used to be in his marriage might... Not be the healthiest approach.
Whether I’d prefer them as platonic or romantic ship.
Whether or not we'll ever retcon the epilogue or not - my personal verdict is that Sorato could have been a great opportunity to show that dating as teenagers can be super fun and nice, but you may not be compatible long-term. But it's okay to break up and move on and maybe be a little awkward for a while, but since you still have that history and a deeper understanding for each other, you still get out of it stronger and with a bond that is just as meaningful as a romantic connection. I feel like it could really have been great like that and I do have a very soft spot for their potential - especially as parallels to Taishirou, there is nothing more fun than having these four go on adventures and silly double dates together IF everything is well executed and functional and if people actually TALK to each other for once. I have a billion set-ups in the back of my mind in my AUs where they would end up moping about their mothers and about Taichi and teasing each other, Sora would actually enjoy collaborating with Taichi and Takeru to get under Yamato's skin, but she also knows his gentle and soft and cheesy side, they adore each other, even if they're incredibly dense about it and Mimi would forever roll her eyes at them... I could go on.
But even if things stay like they are in the epilogue - the "Sorato is actually divorced in the epilogue, but still on good terms and take care of their children like responsible adults who successfully broke through generational trauma" approach can be pretty nice and enjoyable as well (especially in a scenario in which Yamato would end up with Jyou and Sora with Mimi, because I feel like these two get them the best - or both of them actually end up with Taichi, so the triangle can FINALLY be resolved in a satisfying way. The comphet memes about them from back in the day also really spoke to me, because I them getting together could also have been them trying to compensate for their attraction towards their own gender - OR because neither of them thought they could have Taichi in the end, but... THAT'S just a theory after all.) Either way, they care deeply about each other in every reality - even if I personally believe they might work better platonically.
#my two cents#meta#shipping analysis#you know i will not tag them with their names because i don't want to#spread negatvity and attract conflict#personal#shipping game

I was literally about to go to go sleep when this thought punched me in the face.
If that Enji fic is canon to CC then how did Enji react to Aoyama in the sports festival???? Did he freak out???? Did he try to look into her family a bit further and see if she had any relatives???
I NEED TO KNOW!!!!!!??!?!?!
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahaa
Okay so spoilers for my plans for both The Road to Hell and Chaos Children and a few other planned fics in that universe and also the Class Traitor Arc!
OKAY SO
Yeah Enji watches the Sports Festival and goes ??????? when he sees Aoyama. Man is SO confused for a second there.
He does initially write it off as either 1.) some distant branch of the family that Hikari wasn't aware of/in contact with(Aomura and Aoyama sound like family names that could've been connected at one point, after all) or 2.) It just happens to be a very similar Quirk with no relation. Totally possible! After all, he's not related to every Fire Quirk user, why would two Naval Lasers be connected?
Either way, it's not something he's too invested in looking into for a while......
Then we get the whole thing with AfO and learning more about That Shit.
A man who has the power to take peoples' Quirks, has already taken the Quirks of several Heroes he's killed in the past. A Villain so awful and powerful that he scares /All Might/.
Combine that with people, including Enji, suspecting that someone must've given the LoV inside information as the kids' summer training camp was supposed to be a secret?
Even with him being focused on other things, it doesn't take long for him to connect the dots.

More Reserve Course OC Students!
Greetings! I have used some screenshots of Danganronpa Anime as a base/model for some poses, trying to make it as similar as the anime itself even though it is an AU thing.
Yumeno Saki is Gekkogahara Miaya's nephew.
Fumetso Makoto is the cousin of Fumetso Ichiko, the known SHSL Nailist from Class 72 and part of the SHSL Assault Team.
Torayoshi Najimi is the SHSL Judo Master from the SHSL Assault Team from Class 74 and Torayoshi Akumi is his younger brother and also, he has another twin brother in the Reserve Course.
Aishi Megami is the known SHSL Archer from the SHSL Assault Team from Class 63, Aishi Kokona is her niece.
Torayoshi Hokori is Torayoshi Akumi's twin brother and also Najimi's younger brother.
Ronshaku Horāno and Rokuda Kirā are merely random students with no relation to Ultimate students.
Shirasu Kurai, Mamoru Katana and Shingetsu Kenkō are also random students who don't have relation with Ultimates.
In this AU, Munakata Kyosuke had two older siblings, the oldest of them had a son named Haneyama Sosuke, who is Kyosuke's nephew.
Demura Hikari is Bandai Daisaku's niece, she is a soft and kind-hearted person who deeply adores her uncle. Both his uncle and her are pretty good farmers, but he got the Ultimate title.
Mio Ishida Maki is the younger sister of Mio Ishida Kuroko, the known SHSL Yo-yoer from Class 75 and part of the SHSL Assault Team. Maki is a master in Taekwondo and could have been selected as an Ultimate but someone else got the talent first.
Meet the triplets siblings Nejire! Nejire Yume is an archery specialist, not like Megami but close. Nejire Gekkō is a book lover (that allows her to learn all languages) and a clairvoyant, however, her accuracy is approximately 9/10 contrary to Hagakure who is 3/10, but she hates fame hence why she rejected the title of Ultimate Clairvoyant. Nejire Akumu adores japanese decorations, foods and specially, the kanji writting.
Kusha Aoi is the grandchild-niece of Tengan Kazuo, the former headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy. She is best friends with Guramu Osana, a singer prodigy very close to Sayaka's habilities.
These last five are random students who are not related to any Ultimate. Riotto Luca is a transfer student from Italy.
Note: As always, if the Reserve Course works exactly like a normal (if exclusive) japanese high school, then the Reserve Course has classtime and clubs (like Cooking Club, Photography Club, Kendo Club, etc), so some of these characters belong to them, aside from the special class mentioned in my previous post.
Reminder: None of these characters are canon in Danganronpa, they are part of my Alternate Universe (AU) in which Komaeda Nagito has multiple talents. Also, the names for the SHSL students known only by talents (aka the SHSL Assault Team members) are headcannon/created just for the sake of the AU.
Danganronpa, Reserve Course Department and SHSL Titles: Spike Chungsoft & Kodaka
Characters' name and backstory: @michimi-maidenvelekblog / @michimiart-blog
Alternate Universe: MultiTalent!Komaeda Nagito AU by @michimi-maidenvelekblog

Octopath on Sea but Ritsu gets more trauma and more difficulties connecting with others in the future. Oh and the slow fear of drowning in the future but shhhhh
-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/
Ritsu: So. This is- This is how it ends huh? Not with me getting shot or stabbed or some other death but with me drowning after my ship sinks. One of my friends is bleeding and the other telling me that he was never really my friend and it was a whole ploy to join a stupid cult.
Oboro: …Yeah.
Ritsu, scoffing: Is your name even Kazan?
Oboro: Not at all.
Ritsu: Great. Crick is going to bleed to death while I drown and you’re just going to walk away like you didn’t betray us.
Oboro: I did what I had to.
Ritsu: And what is that exactly? I kept being dragged into this fucking cult and I don’t know what they want with me. Am I important somehow? Do I end the world in the future or some shit?
Oboro: Not that I’ve seen no.
Ritsu: Hah. Then what’s the point of all of this? What’s the point of all of your coworkers coming up to me and trying to use me to kill for them.
Oboro: I don’t have an answer to that.
Ritsu: What’s the point of you coming up to me?
Oboro: …I don’t have an answer to that.
Ritsu: Of course you don’t. Of fucking course.
Ritsu: Is there a reason why the Sacred Guard just went and tried to kill us both?
Oboro: Yes.
Ritsu: Will you tell me?
Oboro: No.
Ritsu: Right.
Ritsu: …So now what? You’re just going to kill me? I’m going to drown already so there’s no point.
Oboro: I’m actually here to give you and your friend a quicker death. Drowning is a terrible way to go and your friend is in clear pain. I am quite skilled with the knife so-
Ritsu: Pass. I don’t want you to ever be near me ever again.
Oboro: …Despite what you think I have the best interests in mind. The world is cruel and dirty. Everyone is out for themselves and only cares for their own lives. We’re all just specks in the cold, uncaring, universe and according to the universe, our purpose is to wake up, suffer, and then die. I find a life like that to be unfair.
Ritsu: So what. That’s life. It’s fucking cruel and we have to make do. We make do and then we have to move on because no one really is there to help you. Not even in your grief.
Oboro: And if life wasn’t unfair?
Ritsu: Well maybe I wouldn’t be here on a sinking boat and instead be with my sister and be with Hikari. Maybe that’s what would have happened.
Oboro: Ritsu Hikari is-
Ritsu: Oh shut up. Claude and Arcanette already tried to tell me about “bringing Hikari back”. I’m not stupid. He’s gone. He’s gone and I can’t do anything anymore.
Oboro: For what it was worth, I did enjoy our friendship.
Oboro: …Well goodbye. The endless bottomless sea is always more inviting than life. I hope that brings you comfort.
Ritsu: Gods you actually- Fuck you Kazan. I fucking hate you for making me actually believe I can open myself up again and it won’t hurt like last time. Thanks for proving me wrong and that there’s something worse than death.
Oboro: …Glad I could help.
Ritsu: I hope you drown in the bottomless abyss you love so much.
Oboro: Me too.
Ritsu: …
Ritsu: …He’s gone Crick.
Crick: Oh that’s a relief.
Crick: Are you okay?
Ritsu: The ship is sinking and you’re bleeding Crick. Neither of us are okay.
Crick: Then save yourself. You can do it. Just leave me to-
Ritsu: Crick I can’t get out even if I tried. My leg is broken and I just- You don’t deserve to die alone.
Crick: Oh. Okay.
Crick: It was a good run right? We did our best to get to them despite neither of us having extensive nautical knowledge.
Ritsu: …Yeah. Yeah it was.
KIWI??????? THIS IS REALLY GOOD???? IM GONNA CRY MAYBE?????
ritsu tearing into kazan and just being so so sick of his shit was. very satisfying to read. he’s going through so much in this au he’s earned this. and the whole part where he calls out kazan as the asshole he is for tricking him into opening up again!!!!! yeah!!!!!!!
AND!!!! HIKARI BEING GONE???? CRICK BLEEDING OUT????? BOTH OF THEM JUST?? ACCEPTING THEIR END??? KIWI IT CANT END HERE. TELL ME IT DOESNT END HERE
