feels like such a copout to say fantastic mr fox. but it is the only one i've watched in a long time and i've loved it since i was like 5 so

gonna give you two because it's a tie but before i name them OVERRATED ≠ BAD just that ppl hype it up too much imo

pulp fiction and trainspotting

pulp fiction because even tho i actually rlly enjoy some of the actors' performances (esp samuel l jackson) i just didn't personally think it was as good as people hyped it up to be. maybe it also doesn't fit my personal tastes that much too

trainspotting because even though i know it's a good film i feel like ppl rate it so high for the wrong reasons sometimes. it tells such an important story and the main reasons i see ppl hyping it tf up have almost nothing to do w that. maybe some film studies students at my college r just stupid tho. also i don't need to watch a film to know what addiction does to people

34: An underrated movie?

ANOTHER COUNTRY omg. i do get that it is quite a specific film and it's one that you either get it or you don't but i still think it's incredibly slept on. also on top of the obvious themes of the film it's a good place to learn about how fucking distant the upper classes of british society are from the rest of us. idk as someone who went to a state comprehensive and was (still am) on free lunches it reminds me how there's people in this country who are actually that privileged. ik it's a period drama but eton (where the film is set) and harrow are real schools that real people go to that cost like £15k a term or some crazy shit like that. that's more than some people earn a year and it's being spent on schooling. i mean one of the main character's in another country is a massive fucking commie so at least one of them talks some sense and almost serves as a reminder that that life is Not Normal even tho he lives it too
