The power of language
In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Compassionate
In the Quran Surah Ar-Rahman Allah mentions in verse 4  عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
"´and´ taught them (humanity) speech"
This verse is profound because unlike the rest of every other living thing- Allah’s creation, Allah gave human beings the ability to speak, to communicate through speech. The power of language extends to our capacity to imagine, conceptualize and discuss things beyond what we see. It allows us to understand and explore the world around us. And through this ability the truth can be known to us just by using words, maybe that is why the last revelation sent to us is Allah’s words, the holy Quran, which there will be none after.

why dhikr is important
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
it brings you closer to Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ
the pleasure of Allah is achieved - "the pleasure of Allah is the greatest of all" (9:72)
it comforts the heart - "it is in the remembrance of Allah that hearts can find comfort" (13:29)
when one remembers Allah and is absolutely certain that He has unlimited powers and can and will remove any hardship, the heart feels less anxious.
Allah becomes the Friend of the one who remembers Him - "remember Me, and I will remember you" (2:153)
the heart is strengthened and you develop the power to battle evil and be successful - "O believers! when you face an enemy, stand firm and remember Allah often so you may prosper" (8:46)
the prayer of one who remembers Allah is accepted. surah Fatihah, for eg, is a prayer but it begins with dhikr - 'alhamdulilah' and remembers his attributes, like 'ar-Rahman,' 'ar-Raheem' and then the prayer is made.
your love for Allah will grow as you are constantly thinking about Him and He is inside your heart
it drives Shaytan's whispers out from the heart
it gives you patience through trials as you understand Allah is always there
it removes worry and sadness from one's heart
it provides the chance to enter through the eighth gate of Jannah: 'Baab al-Dhikr' - for the believers who constantly remembered Allah
it is a noor for you on the day of judgement that will keep you steady on the sirat (bridge that guides you to Jannah)
'a man does nothing to rescue himself from Allah's punishment better than remembering Allah' (hadith)
'everything has a polish, and the polish for hearts is the remembrance of God. nothing is more calculated to rescue from God's punishment than remembrance of God' (hadith)
it shows gratitude to Allah - which He loves
you will accept that He has power over everything which will make you trust Him more
your mind will focus continuously on Allah which will motivate you to live your life by the Qur'an and sunnah to please Him more
it creates love of Islam in one's heart
it protects you from harm
the angels surround all four sides of any gathering in which Allah is being remembered and rain down His mercy upon it
it helps you with hardship and trials taken for the sake of Allah
"remembrance of Allah indeed is the greatest virtue" (29:46).

The shaytan wants you to believe that you're a hopeless case and a lost cause. He wants you to lose hope in Allah and believe that the verses of the Quran aren't talking about you. That you've gone too far to turn back.
But Allah? He calls Himself "Ar Rahman and Ar Raheem" before He calls Himself Maliki Yaum id Deen in the first surah of the Quran. On the Day where all power, all kingdom and all control will completely be His- He still wants to remind you that He will be Ar Rahman and Ar Raheem before He is Maliki Yawm id Deen. On the last Day. On a Day He specifically made to judge His Creation. And on a Day that He made to show mercy to His creation. So why lose hope now? Now- when you still have the ability to turn back.
This isn't a free ticket to sin as much as you want- but a reminder that even when you do fall- He's there waiting to pick you up with His mercy.❤️‍🩹

Let’s be real. All of us are struggling in some ways. As imperfect human beings, we all have imaan swings.
There are days when our imaan is high, and there are days when we find even praying the fard salaah a heavy task — but we force ourselves anyway to fulfil the obligation out of taqwa of Allah.
There are days when we want to read and study the Qur’an for hours, and then there are days when we don’t feel like reading a single aayah at all — but we read 5, 10 aayat anyway, because we don't want a single day to pass without reading His Book.
And your striving in and of itself is an indication of having imaan.
Know that for every striving, every desire we control to not fall into the impermissible, and every effort we put into doing a small good deed are seen and appreciated by Him subhanahu wa ta’ala. Let these aayat encourage us to keep on going:
🌺 ❛And whatever you do of good, Allah certainly knows it.❜ 【Surah al-Baqarah 2:197】
🌺 ❛And whoever performs a good deed, We will increase for him goodness therein.❜ 【Surah ash-Shura 42:23】
🌺 ❛Is there any reward for good other than good?❜ 【Surah Ar-Rahman 55:60】
🌺 ❛[It will be said to the people in Jannah]: This (i.e. everything in Jannah) is a reward for you. And your effort has been very much appreciated.❜ 【Surah Al-Insan 76: 22】

Everyone upon it [i.e., the earth] will perish,
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor. So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

What do you do when you are aching and carrying a heavy heart?
The only thing we can; we breathe and carry on, counting the blessings that we do have.
In time, all the hurt and broken pieces will heal and be made anew, and we will finally be free.
—A.A. Mai, ‘The Healer’ From reading Surah Ar-Rahman (The Beneficient) of the Quran.
