An MP suggests Devon and Cornwall is similar to Sussex

On Wednesday last week on 7th February, the Conservative MP for Hastings and Rye, Sally-Ann Hart took part in the discussion for Police Grant Report and she suggests that “The situation in Devon and Cornwall is similar to that in Sussex”. I attempted to write a drabble and... failed. So here's a double drabble instead! Also posted on ao3. Steddie for your soul:

“How much do you like Eddie?”

Robin was disappointed. She had brought Steve to meet her new friend Eddie because she thought they'd really hit it off. Eddie was, like, Steve's polar opposite, but that was supposed to be a good thing, right?

It had been going well, she'd thought. Eddie was his usual manic self but Steve hadn't sneered; he had seemed really interested in what Eddie was saying. Robin had watched Steve's eyes track the movements of Eddie's ring-covered fingers and thought, yeah, this'll work.

Then Steve had pulled her aside and whispered his question: “How much do you like Eddie?”

Robin frowned. “Like, a normal amount? He's a good guy. What's your damage?”

Steve tugged her closer, turning their bodies away from the table where Eddie still sat. “I’m about ten seconds away from asking him on a date, okay, because wow. But you know my track record with relationships, it could end badly and you can't ever see him again if he breaks my heart,” Steve took a deep breath, “so I'm asking you: how much do you like Eddie?”

Robin smiled slowly. “Not as much as you do, apparently.”

Damn, she was good at this.

Eddie couldn't stop staring at Steve's ass.

It’s a thing that’s normally true—he’s always looking at his boyfriend’s ass—but he really couldn't tear his eyes away today.

His incredibly tight basketball shorts have made a reappearance today and Eddie is looking.

He watches as Steve flits around the kitchen, as he leans over the stove to stir something, as he bends over the kitchen island to chop something up.

If Eddie didn't know better, he’d almost say Steve was doing this on purpose to get his attention.

“My eyes are up here,” he hears Steve's voice say and he looks up, caught.

Steve's looking over his shoulder with a smug look on his face, so Eddie gets up and stalks towards him, pressing into his space and grabbing two perfect handfuls of his ass.

“I know where your eyes are, sweetheart. I was looking at something else entirely.”

Steve relaxes back into him, turning his head so their noses brush together. “Yeah?” he asks, a little breathy.

Eddie hums. “I think you know exactly what I was looking at.”

He kisses Steve and squeezes his ass, pulling a gasp out of him.

They only just manage to not burn dinner.

Steve: Please tell me why your daughters just asked me if I’d still love them if they were a little weird.

Steve: As if they aren’t so fucking weird.

Steve: As if they aren’t downstairs learning the Nationwide insurance jingle as a duet on their recorders.

Steve: As if they didn’t spend twenty minutes yesterday letting glue dry on their hands so they could peel it off

Eddie: Well…would you?

Steve, ignoring him: And when I told them that everyone’s a little bit weird

Steve: You know what they said?

Steve: They said yeah, *you’re* a little weird. Not us though.

Eddie: *absolutely dying laughing*

Steve: And then you know what they said next?

Eddie: Oh god, there’s more?

Steve: They said would you love us *less* if we were weird?

Steve: So now I need you to figure out what about me is so weird that it’s keeping our children from loving me at maximum capacity.

Steve: Because how the fuck else was I supposed to interpret that?

My favorite thing about Hopper acting as Steve’s parent is him looking at Steve and going: this is my son, he’s a angel, he can do no wrong (knowing full well that he broke up over 2 dozen parties at Steve’s house when he was younger than 16 and found him black out drunk/stoned many times)

Then he looks at Steve’s boyfriend, notorious drug dealer nerd, Eddie Munson and goes: horrible, stinky stinky man, terrible influence (when Eddie was caught AT those Harrington parties)
