So, I have to finally share these screen shots of my farmer, Kristen, as a sim. The amazing @maylilithreign made her by referencing a couple photos of a face claim and some outfits I sent. I look at them all the time because omg, my baby.

Sebastian! I'm not super happy with how he turned out, but it's the best I could do. Plus a little sneak peek of Sam (who I accidentally made hot).

Prologue 05: Thirteen (RSV)

Crickets chirped in the underbrush. A light breeze tickled the hairs on my skin. I plopped myself at the firepit, too stubborn or too scared to follow Sam into the dark. The fire crackled as I placed a marshmallow on a branch I had found among the pile originally meant for kindling.

“If you put it down near the coals, it’ll get that nice golden brown.”

The advice came from Sebastian, Sam’s friend. I swatted at an imaginary bug to try and hide my flustered expression. He leaned casually against the carved logs we used as benches. His long legs draped over the back, his head tilted toward the sky.

“Uh… thanks,” I managed.

“You can see Vyolette tonight,” he remarked.

“Oh?” I tilted my head to view the star.

“It’s named for the Seven Sisters in Hellanic mythology,” he continued, as if I cared or wanted to know.

I did know. But I was intrigued as to why he was talking to me. I was thirteen. He was fifteen, nearly sixteen. Closer in age to Ben than Sam and me, but he didn’t strike me as “their usual crowd.” This was the most words he had said to me since we met a few days before.

“You can’t see constellations like this in the city,” his pitch softening, intensifying.

This is so fitting for my current iterations of Harvey and Elliott. I love these Stardudes so much!! :) And yes, there’s nothing wrong with formal speech. It’s beautiful! 

Shoutout to people who speak "overly formally." You deserve to express yourself in whatever way feels most natural and fulfilling for you. The way you speak isn't pompous, annoying, or mockable; it's just how you communicate, and there's nothing wrong with that. Your voice adds creativity and diversity to this world, and I think that's amazing.

I think Stardew Valley, The Sims, and Minecraft are all in the same category of game in that you play it obsessively for weeks, losing all sense of time, and then don’t touch it for months
