5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I always respond because it seems like the polite thing to do especially now that people don't leave as many comments as they used to back the 00's on ff.net

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

You Can't Stay Blind - (SuperWho (SPN/Doctor Who)) - the Eleventh Doctor runs into Crowley who's wearing a too familiar face

In the Pasture of a Vale (Supernatural) - Dean runs into Adam and Ben five years post-season 5 (written back in 2010)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

 I think I always end up with a kind of mixed emotion ending like Best Laid Plans or Our Soulmate Academia, so it's difficult to remember the truly happy ones. The most recent happy ending would be The Mystery in the Fog (ACD!Holmes) where Holmes and Watson end up at the same secret wedding of an underground queer club they're both members of unbeknownst to each other and have some revelations

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sometimes I do. The most infamous incident was the time I wrote a fic speculating on who Castiel's vessel might have been before I got to Jimmy's episode in my binge watch back in the day. The reviewer went into gruesome detail on how I was going to burn in Hell for my fic. It was unreal. I just deleted the fic and then went on to write several more SPN fics as you do.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've written smut a handful of times for fics and more often than that for RP since that's part of the RP culture I fell into in university. Most of my smut fics have been orphaned now, but the one that remains is Swallow My Fang at Night Island (Interview with the Vampire (AMC)) I approach smut like I approach fight scenes so I can keep track of the flow of action. I keep my own personal kinks out of it and try to write a scene I think the audience would look for instead

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I've written 15 crossovers. I enjoy them tbh. In terms of plot, the craziest one I wrote was Distortion (BBC Sherlock/My Life in Film) where Jones was hired to play Moriarty and things get way too real. In terms of titles crossed over, the craziest one is probably The Hokage (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle/Naruto)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, ages ago. It's why I'm my own beta reader or Kitty Britpicks me because I can trust her

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I had some requests but I've never been alerted to the final products

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

My brother and I regularly cowrote fics together when I was in high school and he was in middle school. If you ever read a Trigun script-based crack fic in the 00's with the phrase "Love and peace! Doves and geese! Change the world!" or "Another carnival ride with cotton candy," that was us.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

I don't think I actually have one because I'm a multi-shipper and I have so many favorites. That said, it might be inuyasha/Kagome since I always had an Inuyasha fic in rotation (usually more than one though) from 2001 - 2007 or so. Unfortunately they've all been lost to time. According to my AO3 relationship toggle in the filters sidebar, it's Destiel (7) and Devil's Minion (7)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a BnHA fic from before we learned what Hagukure's powers were where she sent Class-A and Aizawa back in time to Yagi's high school years to do a kind of Tenchi in Love (1996) type of plot where they had to stop a time traveler from murdering Yagi. I wrote quite a bit of it but it stalled on me when Midoriy and Nana interacted and I wasn't completely sure how to get that to work

16. What are your writing strengths?

The most consistent thing I get complimented on are my fight sequences, which is why it's sad I lost all my IY fics because I wrote so many fights for them

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My memory is a sieve and some of the holes are too big

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it before because I was a weeb and it was a trend in the 00's. Not sure I'd do it again now that I've matured past that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically fairytales. I retold Cinderella when I was so little my mom had to write it down for me because I couldn't write yet. I drew pictures to go with the narration

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

The Land Across the Sea (Black Clover/Boruto) - Boruto ride a tsunami to Clover Kingdom and the knights have to take him back home, which is also Yami's homeland.

I got the idea for this fic when a friend and I were talking about what we'd want the Black Clover movie to be about when it was first announced. Then I took my idea of Yami getting to return to his homeland and made it a crossover because I like the idea of Yami and Naruto knowing each other from back in the day.

November 5, 2021 - Y'all know why. My job is done, I can log off now.

Just joking. This would be very rude of me.

So it's been a year since Castiel was sent to Turbohell. November 5th, 2020 caused a warp in reality as, little did we know, it only kept getting worse. Instead of dying down as most shows that come to end and living up to the "there'll be peace when you are done" theme, Supernatural continues to prove that there is no peace. None. There's only chaos.

Are we there yet? Not yet, but very, very soon the all time biggest ship on AO3, destiel, will cross 100,000 fanworks mark! As I type this on August 7, 2021 the number stands at 99,882 sorry, it’s 99,887 as I hit post. Here’s some posts anticipating the big even - post 1, post 2 and post about Misha tweeting about destiel fanfic. 

tumblr user @centrumlumina has been making and analyzing AO3 Ship Stats for years, and making them easily understandable in tumblr posts. Here’s  AO3 Ship stats 2021 All Time 100 with destiel as number one, and This Year’s Top 100 with destiel as number 2.  (link to the same post on AO3). Do not be sad about the second place on This Year’s table. That is a very huge improvement over 2020 listing, when destiel was number 16. According to OP, the low increase in new works could be explained with deleted fics making a dent in total numbers. Well, something clearly changed between the last survey and this year’s stats, if destiel is back on top. I wonder what.... 

Tumblr staff scared us all with their new blog monetization feature Post Plus, which prompted huge discussions about merits and demerits of putting your fanfic behind a paywall. and now the bad and sad news

An author of some 20+ m/m erotica books on Amazon, Romilly King, has been found to plagiarize at least 2 destiel fics. All important information with regular updates in notes and reblogs can be found on this post by @unforth. If you like dark, kinky fics, please check it out and see if you can help to track down other copycat novels. There’s is a strong suspicion that the author has ripped off fics from other fandoms besides SPN.

as we already mentioned on our post from January, 2021, destiel writer apokteino deleted their AO3 profile, including their most popular fic With Understanding (our rec post). There’s some misunderstanding about the fic appearing on AO3 as an orphaned work, but we are pretty sure that the repost was not done by the author. Please see this post and its notes for more info. 

and now even sadder news. It has come to my attention that a popular destiel author moosefeels has made all their destiel fics unavailable. I feel like a broken record, but for heavens sake, guys, please comment and kudos your favorite authors and download the fics you want to cherish. You’ll never know when they will be gone.

in the beginning there was ... - after Mr.Ackles caused a great chaos in fandom with his announcement of an   SPN spinoff/ prequel The Winchesters, with young Mary and John no less, this fic rec list was born. 

Always the best man, never the groom -  a wedding themed destiel fic collection with a twist - it is not their wedding. In these fics Dean and Cas meet or finally get together thanks to other people’s weddings. I’ve been nursing this rec list idea for several years and was planning to post it after SPN finale. Needless to say things didn’t go as planned in fandom and I postponed it. Well, better late than never!

@destiel-fic-rec-lists - a self promo! Since I’m very behind on all new destiel fics, it seemed a good idea to collect other people fic rec lists in one place and share them with our followers. The blog was started to preserve destiel fic rec posts by`destielmybeatingheart after they deleted their main blog, but now it is expanding. I aim for several postings per week, usually a fic rec post and a fanfic meme or writing related post.

March 6, 2021 - A virtual con organized by Creation Entertainment takes place this weekend and Supernatural trends again. Some refer to it as the season 16 finale. I think it's very telling that the collective response to the announcement last month was fear, denial, and general 'please, anything but this.'

Yesterday, there was Kim Rhodes and Briana Buckmaster’s panel. It was very warmly received by the fans. The panel can be viewed here and some highlights here.

Now, let’s get to today’s events that led to Supernatural trending yet again. Two imporant panels took place - Mark Sheppard’s and Misha Collins’.

I linked them here, but just a few highlights - Mark discussed his character Crowey, the show in general, and beautifully roasted the writing of the show. A short summary can be found here.

I haven’t found a summary for Misha’s panel yet. He received a bunch of questions, one of them was about Castiel and what he’d do if he ever met John Winchester. Misha said they would engage in thumb-wrestling (an interesting euphemism for ‘tear into pieces and throw into the abyss of hell for eternal suffering’). He also mentioned Cas having a hairless cat, effectively making Phyllis canon (long live our monarch). Phyllis is a destiel tumblr lore, and not even mainstream, which many fans believe confirms that Misha indeed has a Tumblr account.

Additionally, he talked about personal stuff, the TSA short films (can be found on his YT channel), politics, his experiences from the set, the book of poetry he’s going to publish this year, space travel, Cas’ death scene (that ‘ended up being his last moments on set’), the plane engine explosion during their flight to a convention, elves, tattoos, and many other things*; he also spoke Russian, which I firmly believe he did in order to avoid talking about Supernatural. He said he was getting tiktok.

Tomorrow two more panels are taking place - Jensen Ackles’ and Jared Padalecki’s.

*no questions about destiel were answered though, take it as you will

Magic was exposed in 2009 when Phoebe Halliwell used her powers to kill Cal Greene. While a local D.A. Nathaniel Pratt began a modern-day witch hunt as a platform for political office, many witches went further underground. Others decided they'd had enough of hiding and it was time to fight back.

Chris has gone into hiding, only using his magic when it's strictly necessary.

Chris is attending college at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) for their nursing program. As such, he is a School of Nursing student (going for a Bachelor of Science as an undergrad and a Masters Entry Clinical Nurse for his masters/graduate). He's also working his way through school with a part-time job at a strip club. However, studies tend to become rather difficult when magical hijinks keep ensuing.

And he has to try not to seriously injure anyone who refers to him as a warlock.

After Valentine is killed by Raziel, Chris shifts his focus to fighting against Jonathan Morgenstern (aka Sebastian) in the Dark War alongside the Shadowhunters and Downworlders.

It started after San Francisco fell and the SF Institute fell with it. That’s when the Clave began to accept that Wyatt Halliwell was indeed a threat, not just to the witches sequestered in that area. When they tried to resettle in New York, Wyatt attacked them too.

It was then the Clave and the few leaders the witches had came to an agreement. Teams of witches and Shadowhunters in equal measure were formed, fighting the hordes of relentless evil even as they were cut down. Witches took Shadowhunter runes, Shadowhunters made witches potions and helped to make one that activated , both learning to utilize and share their respective skills. Teams became family, witch and Shadowhunter bloodlines mixing and forming a new type of warrior.

Chris Halliwell has been partnered with Jace Wayland, a Shadowhunter and the team leader. Unbeknownst to the Clave, they've come up with a way to prevent this war from ever happening: Chris travels back in time to save his older brother.

Everything goes downhill after that.
