Fan: We have… the next best thing. That's right. OJ's... righthand man! Uh—well—some could say. Um. In—uh—uh—our guest of honor, tonight, that's right, you've all been waiting for it: PAPER!

Paper: Haha, hey everyone! Um... I wasn't really expecting to, come on out tonight!

Fan: Neither was I.

Paper: It was a—it was a bit of a change in schedule! What was that?

Fan: Nei—yeah—neither was I. I mean, look, I-I always love to see you Paper, um...

Paper: Hehe!

Fan: I'll be g—I'll be—

Paper: We're besties! Paper pals!

Fan: Yeah! No we are paper pals. I—I mean I'll be completely frank with you... all of my questions I prepared were for OJ, so...

Paper: Oh!

Fan: Um... I don't know if you'll be able to answer any—like cause like I mean look at the—alright like first card here that I have is like—what, you see, like what's it like running a hotel—see, like that doesn't apply to you at all, like cause you're just a guest here at Hotel OJ, you don't have any responsibilities, so we could just—we could just crumple that up—

Paper: Wha—uh—about that, I mean I d—I…

Fan: Oh!

Paper: I do do quite a… bit for Hotel OJ.

Fan: Oh really?

Paper: I mean like, whenever OJ's over to—over to the left, some fire's gotta be put out on the right, you know what I mean?

Fan: Okay… I didn't realize that you were invol—so what's like—what's your ro—do you have like an official title? Here? In the hotel?

Paper: Um… well, well no, well, my title is…

Fan: Oh!

Paper: Paper! You know? Um…

Fan: Well, Paper—yeah well, that's your name! But like do you have like a… you know, a position, a role?

Paper: Well…

Fan: A job?

Paper: OJ's… in charge, and…

Fan: Right.

Paper: I-I don't really have a title? Because, you know, in *theory,* I'm supposed to just be, a guest who gets all the accommodations and, you know, same as everyone else without having to do the *work* for it…

Fan: Right. Yeah.

Paper: But. You know. I also have to… you know. Clean up everything, and, and, and, you know, I'll—I'll cook some meals, and do the dishes, and… and organize all the… the reconstruction and, whenever we had the Hotel OJ casino, you know, when we were doing that big project that we loved and did for… many, many, many months… um… tsk, you know, I-I was running things there, and…

Fan: Wow…

Paper: You know, construction…

Fan: The hotel casino, I lost a lot of money on that…

Paper: And… planting some flowers… and… you know, I-I mean, I kinda do… everything around here!

Fan: Now I wanna—

Paper: [noise]

Fan: Yeah… okay… I wanna return to one thing that you sai—ah—my… I perked up when you said this, cause you said you *have* to do these things. What do you mean have to—like who's making you do these things? How did this start?

Paper: Um, I suppose, “have to” is, you know… not the exact perfect wording for it.

Fan: Okay…

Paper: But um… you know…

Fan: NOW'S YOUR CHANCE TO CHANGE THE WORDING!

Paper: Wha—uh… I saw that OJ needed, you know, just a little bit of help once, you know, and, um… Yinyang was like… causing a big scene, and—and throwing things around… and then I just—

Fan: And OJ came to you? He came to you to—for help? Or did you approach OJ?

Paper: Well kinda—kinda not, I just, I stepped in—

Fan: You approached him.

Paper: I-I did the job, I-I got things figured out, sorted through, made everyone feel all comfortable, and then OJ said: You did really good with that. You should do that maybe a… a little bit more often! And I'm like, oh, i-if you, if you think I did a really good job, I-I guess I could… I could do it some more, and… you know that you kinda tumble on into these kinds of things!

Fan: Kay, I need you to hold that thought Paper, because look, there has been a—a COSMIC shift in the poll. Knife is now leading f—oh sorry. Oh wait, no, oh, oh we're going back and forth!

Paper: What's going on?

Fan: Knife is leading fifty-one to forty-nine and then it went to fifty fifty AND THEN IT WENT BACK! Knife fifty-one forty-nine AND NOW IT'S BACK! Fifty fifty—oh my goodness, Paper—OH MY GOODNESS, WAIT, KNIFE FIFTY-ONE FORTY—OH AND IT'S BACK TO FIFTY FIFTY—OH WAIT IT'S FIFTY-ONE FORTY-NINE—I'M NOT EVEN JOKING FOLKS! I-I'm taking so many screenshots, but I can't keep up, I can't keep up folks, it's—it's gonna… I'm gonna be logging all of these, I'm gonna have a whole scrapbook. Oh my gosh. Oh that—wait that's right, oh hold on, you're still here.

Paper: This is a once in a lifetime event! Assuming, you know. There's only… one… event.

Fan: Right.

Paper: But here, at the, Hotel OJ party! Hop hop hop! We are, hopping ready for a big exciting finale! So, it seems, that uh, there's a, fifty percent chance, that the person who wins, is going to get YOU all hopping excited!

Fan: Now—you're—you're really keying in on this hop thing, I-I have to ask, like—

Paper: Yeah!

Fan: Is it like—

Paper: Oh I love it.

Fan: It's the Hotel OJ party, so like, I mean the acronym would be like… H-O-J-P, like—ho—ho—hojp?

Paper: Wha—the name is OJ, so… I-I—

Fan: Well it's Orange Juice, so it'd be HOJP, not HOP.

Paper: [incomprehensible]—of the name, like, I don't, you know, ho… hotel, I don't do HT for that, I—

Fan: But there's no space. Orange Juice has a nice space, it's two words. So I think it's HOJP.

Paper: There's a space?!

Fan: No question. Yeah! In Orange Juice, are you kidding me?!

Paper: W-Well he goes by OJ!

Fan: Alright, I-I know that came off rude—

Paper: What—you type out the letters O, J, you put a space in the between them?!

Fan: No—okay, no—n-n-now, now, now, now you're—you're mixing it up. No, OJ in and of itself—

Paper: I'm mixing it up? You're getting so confused, you think you know OJ better than *I* know OJ?!

Fan: I did not say that, Paper. I did not—okay, I've clearly touched a nerve here. Listen. When you do an acronym, you put all of the letters together, no spaces. But when you actually *say* what the acronym is, out loud, then the spaces come into play! You see? So—

Paper: You don't—

Fan: —it would be—

Paper: But—Y-You don't type the letters—

Fan: HOJP!

Paper: —as you say them!

Fan: IT'S HOJP! PAPER! IT'S HOJP! IT'S HOJP! It's HOJP. I'm sorry.

Paper: HOJP? What?

Fan: I'm sorry, Paper. It's HOJP. Alright, you know what? Enough of this poll. I'm gonna end this poll.

Paper: B-b-but it doesn't—it doesn't roll off the tongue! Like, wha…

Fan: Well, that's exactly my point!

Paper: What?

Fan: Why would you have done that? Why would you have done that.

Fan: No. So, Paper, uh, I want to know. Who do you think should win the second season of Inanimate Insanity? Uh, I know obviously you have some history with Knife, and you kinda have none with Suitcase. So, go ahead!

Paper: Wha—well—uh, y-you beat me to it, Fan! I mean—

Fan: Yeah!

Paper: —here's the issue, right?

Fan: Yeah.

Paper: I don't know a thing about Suitcase! I mean I-I-I didn't compete with her, I-I suppose when—when some people come back to the hotel who have a history with her, they're like: yeah! She’s… pretty nice! And I'm like, oh I like when people are nice that's pretty cool. Um… so, you would think that, you know, kinda just makes sense that by default, since we have, you know, history and all, you know, we—we've… had a lot of time together and such—just makes sense, go for Knife!

Fan: Wow, I'm—

Paper: BUT HE'S A JERK!

Fan: I… I feel like I'm getting some mixed messages from you right now, Paper. Because like you… really have a lot of issues with Knife, but you—you actually would be rooting for Knife!

Paper: Oh no, absolutely not. I'm saying despite the fact, that I don't know a *thing* about Suitcase, of course I'm gonna root for her! Cause, Knife is—

Fan: I'm sorry, I'm only half paying attention, sorry. Continue.

Paper: I appreciate you anyway. Knife is mean, Knife is a bully, why—why would anyone WANT to root for him!? Yeah, oh maybe he beat—did a few challenges well, or whatever, but—Knife will RIP ME APART given the chance! I don't get it! But, you know, maybe I don't need to get it, because, fifty percent of the chat thinks it's, just okay to root for the guy!

Fan: Does that—does that bother you?

Paper: Mn… a little bit, but, you know… I don't wanna tell people what to do.

Fan: No, go ahead.

Fan: Well, it's not my place to say! This—I'm the moderator of the event so it would insult the—

Paper: Exactly, so it's—it's very specifically *your* place!

Fan: ��would insult the integrity of the, uh, livestream, if I were to share my opinion, I established this upfront, you know. I think it makes sense to me. This is my own internal logic and it's my show so, if that is the call that I made, then I don't think that I should have to disclose any opinion, one way or another. I think that's fair.

Paper: Fine. Then I don't very much care either!

Fan: Oh you don't care to hear my opinion? Well that much I knew.

Paper: Ah, wa—I-I-I-I didn't mean it, I just… I just kinda, you know, tried to be… a funny person, who… goes with the bit! I mean…

Fan: Yeah, yeah… Go with the bit, alright… Yeah, you really go with the bit, Paper. You know what? Yeah. Just go with the bit! Yeah, I-I'll go with the bit too. Yeah—th-this has really, this has been such a—such a *great* time. Talking to each other. I think. Yeah, I really enjoyed it—

Fan: —everyone's been waiting for a long time, for like, the FFF Paper interview, you know, there was a lot of—there was a lot of controversy about this and I—

Paper: And why didn't it happen, huh?

Fan: I—look, I wanted to do it! Salt and Pepper encroached upon my territory, you saw! I was happy to have it happen! I invited you for a reason! We were sharing a laugh—

Paper: And then we had it scheduled, a Paper interview, and then you just—you just sail on off to some concert!

Fan: Hey, hey, hey, hey, we're not gonna talk about that right now. We're not gonna talk about that right now. Okay?

Paper: Hmph.

Fan: We're not gonna talk about that right now. Please. Paper. Come on. This is not—that's not—that's not what this night is about. This night is about, we are a-approaching the end, of Inanimate Insanity 2. You understand that? You understand how big of a deal that is? Do you know how long everyone has been waiting? For this resolution? This is huge, this is massive! Okay? It's not about you, or me…

Paper: It's been—it's been going around, uh… almost as long as I've… lived in this hotel! You know, so I suppose that makes sense!

Fan: Yeah! Yeah no, it is a very, look, it is a very—

Paper: It's like our entire lives by this point!

Fan: It is a very, very big deal. Um… so, yeah, and I-I-I for one am excited to see how it all turns out—I'm sorry, everyone else who's watching is also very much interested to see. Uh, how it'll—how it'll play out too! And I hope, you know, I hope we all are satisfied, you know, it's hard, sometimes, like cause you can't—can't always a-a-a-appeal to everyone, but. You know, it's definitely… it… Yeah. It's been great, finally having this interview with you Paper—I am—I *am* sorry that it took this long, I think I had very understandable reasons that were outside of my control! For why I took this long. But. You know. It's… yeah, it's uh… it—it is what it is. Okay? Do you accept that? Can you accept that? Or no.

Paper: Mm. I do, Fan. I do.

Fan: Well, they—look, I'm seeing, I-I'm trying to pull up an example, i-it won't let me—I'm trying to scroll up, but it won't let me pick it! Fan: Well, I-I mean, Paper, I scheduled them all—they only had time to speak individually, I-I don't think that we're gonna be able to get them all again. You know, running a show like this, it's—it's—it's very difficult, it takes a lot of coordination, I know you call that talent, coordination. But—oh wait oh they're all back there. **please note I omitted some things and filler words to make an easier read. She talked about dream team after where I stopped but I didn’t think it added to what she said.

So I wanted to do some talking because I understand there's a lot of things that people are very confused about [...] for the people who are a little bit more newer, I am Caiti's best friend, I am the person that was with her during VidCon. [...] I don't want to fully explain the entire situation because at the end of the day this is always gonna be Caiti's story and it is always going to be her story to tell. I am just here to help move along her story and help people understand exactly what happened. I am her witness essentially.[...] That is it at the end of the day and I am always gonna be here to support Caiti. She is my best friend, she's been there for me through absolutely everything that I have been through in my life. Her mom was the one who paid for my trip to VidCon because she didn't want Caiti to go alone. [...] Caiti is my best friend, I see her like a little sister and to tell me that it's my fault that this happened to Caiti is so unbelievably hurtful. [...]

This is just my intention-to like get things out there and help people completely understand everything that went on. I am so sorry. [...] Like i said- I did not mean for this to happen to Caiti. I didn't know that this would happen [...] I just want you guys to understand I love Caiti absolutely so much. She's my best friend. I have tried to be here for her through absolutely everything and I just wanna explain some things. One of the biggest things i've been seeing people say is that i got Caiti into a 21 and up party and I got her in and that I was feeding her drinks- like there were some things that people were saying that I was the reason Caiti was getting drunk and that Caiti was getting into these 21 and up parties. If you guys read Caiti's statement, which I recommend everyone here do if you guys have not read her statement, she goes into everything in very well detail and she explains things very very well. And like I said in the beginning of the stream, this is Caiti's story, I'm just here to help move it along. And that was never the case. It was never 21 and up parties. I was 20 at the time, if they were 21 and up, I couldn't get in either. I don't own a fake ID, I've never owned a fake ID. If we were to try and get into these parties- like first of all, I also wanna say, the only wristband I had on was the Hyatt wristband that gets me into these parties. That was the only wristband I ever had on. I was technically Caiti's plus-one, but because Caiti was an invited creator and not a featured creator, a lot of these parties we wouldn't have even been able to get into. And I didn't even have like a badge that would let me get into a lot of these things so literally the only party that we got into was the Instagram party, and even then, I didn't get into the Instagram party; I myself. That was the only VidCon specified party that we ended up going to. And that was obviously the night that everything happened. I never even got in. The only person who had a 21 wristband was one of our friends, who have known Dream and George for a while now, so they would know that they were 21 anyways. I didn't get in

So essentially how that day started: we started at VidCon, we met up with some of our friend's friends who were talking about the Instagram party that night and that they had a connect to get us into the party. Once again I want to put out there- the party was 16 plus. If you look at Caiti's statement, it specifically says that it is a 16 up party and if you're 16 and older you need to be there with an adult, but if you're 18 and older you can be there without an adult, and then if you were 21 and up you got a yellow wristband that says that you were 21. And the only person- I did say earlier that I thought two of our friends were 21 at the time, that is because one of my friends that were there, she turned 21 after Caiti already left. It was like she turned literally 21 like- i don't remember exactly which day- but she turned 21, but she wasn't 21 at this time. And so she- we found out that they had connects to get into this party, we were like okay fun, that'd be awesome if we could all get in. So they wrote our names down and stuff. Something that happened, a little miscommunication, they didn't think that there were as many people as there were. So two of us didn't get in. I was one of the two people who didn't get in. Outside the venue there was a staircase and me and our other friend sat out there while everyone else went in because I knew, you know, that's a fun experience. There are text messages of us in that groupchat that ended up, you know obviously a lot of the things got used in that groupchat as proof. There's pictures in that groupchat of me and our friend sitting on the staircase talking about how they didn't let us in and us making jokes that they hated us for not letting us in, but we waited outside. I never got a wristband, I never got inside the venue. The only way I saw inside the venue was by seeing the pictures and videos that Caiti showed me after they went in. They came out 15 minutes later. Me and our other friend told them, dude stay inside, if you guys are having fun that's totally okay. Me and our other friend can just go somewhere else. We had friends who had an airbnb that we had been the night before, that we were like, we’ll just go over there it’s totally okay, don’t even worry about it if you guys don't wanna leave. Like I understand if you’re having fun. It’s a fun experience! It's a VidCon party! This is the first time Caiti was invited to VidCon. Getting to be at an event like that would’ve been so cool and I would not have wanted to take that away from her. But they, being the nice friends that they were, decided nonono, we’re gonna leave. They went in, got some pictures, some videos. i know they made a joke texting- there was like these little mini corndogs that were in there that were being passed around, you know like those people who like hold the plates and they have like the food on it. I'm pretty sure that’s what it was. they were like eating them and they were like guys, hold on, we’ll be out in a second, they got corndogs, they’re really good. Like jokes like that, you know. But then they ended up coming out. And we made a game plan, let’s go back to the hotel, you know, it’s totally fine. We went back to the hotel and that’s where we came from. It was a 16 and up party, no one drank.

People claimed that we came to the hotel having already drank. We didn’t, we didn’t. We went back to the hotel, didn’t drink. Went to their hotel room, and that’s when we started to drink. So to say that we were already drinking beforehand, didn’t happen. I just wanted to get that out there. We weren’t already drunk when we got there, it wasn’t a 21 and up party. It was a 16 and up party. There were creators there that were younger than Caiti and I, from what I saw. Like, it was never us getting Caiti into these 21 and up events. The only time that we went to a party where we drank, honestly, was at an airbnb party hosted by some friends of ours. That’s actually where we met Dream for the first time and that is when we went back to his hotel room that first night because we rode back in his car. I very much remember that night because I didn’t get that drunk as I did the next night. And it was hosted at that airbnb and everyone there was people that I know, people that I’ve gone on trips with, people that were very trustworthy, people that were there and continuously stayed sober and made sure everyone was okay. It was a very safe environment and there were people that Caiti and I have known for a very long time. So, it was a very safe environment for us to be getting, you know, for us to be drinking in. We were playing drinking games, it was very fun. Caiti and I had fun and we went back to their hotel that night and everything was fine. Nothing happened out of the ordinary. I had actually left earlier that night from the hotel room because our hotel room was literally like- their hotel room was here, you walk down the hall, pass the elevators, and then I think it was straight passed the elevators, and it was right there. Like our hotel room was right there. And I had left early that night anyways. Our friend, we’ve talked about it, one of our friends was romantically talking to Dream at the time. That was a very known fact. And she actually stayed the night in his hotel room twice. That first night, after the airbnb party, she was there that entire night. I had left early, I was really tired, I don’t have honestly the biggest like social like battery, especially when I’ve been drinking. I went back to the hotel room early. Caiti and our friend had stayed later and eventually, when Caiti was ready to go back, our friend had walked Caiti back to our hotel room and went back to Dream’s hotel room to spend the night.

And then, the next night, I, you know, got way too drunk. This is after the instagram party, so I’d gotten way too drunk obviously, and that was a mistake of mine. I explained to someone in their dms, I was still very new to drinking. Obviously now, I’ve done it a couple more times, I understand my limits. At the time I honestly didn’t. The only times I’ve ever drank with Caiti have been like, you know, like chill environments, safe places, you know. I haven’t really, I don’t know. I’m still- I was still very new to that whole like partying scene. You know, like going out and seeing people. And I- so that night I was sitting on the couch with them, got a little too drunk obviously, and I did not intentionally want to leave. I was gonna stay way longer but I was sitting there on the couch and I just remember feeling extremely sick and extremely nauseous. I stood up, I said- I didn’t even look at anyone- I said “I’m gonna go guys” and I ran out of the hotel room. I probably walked out of their hotel room and then ran down the hallway. And I just- the thing that I only remember was getting to our hotel room, pulling out the key- ‘cause I have like this satchel,[...] I remember the hotel key was in there. I remember pulling it out, trying to get it to unlock the door and actively was throwing up at the same time in my hand. Like it was, it was, it was like, you know, just like horrible. And then I just remember getting on the bathroom floor, throwing up for a good like 30 minutes and then I woke up. And then I woke up and it was the next day. And it was interesting because I remember throwing up in my hand.[...] So yeah.

To also tell everyone, I did not leave Caiti there. A lot of people are claiming that I abandoned Caiti in that hotel room. I didn’t leave her alone in there. One of our friends were there, and were still awake. She was still there at the time. I left knowing full well Caiti was still there with someone. I assumed that the next morning- I assumed that night that Caiti would’ve been walked home- or walked back to our hotel room by the same person. Obviously, that hadn’t had happened. So that was essentially how everything- I hope that that helped a little bit. I know people had a lot of questions. That was just like the timeline that I remember. That's what I remember. I remember we drank in their hotel room that night. And I just remember getting up, getting really sick, and leaving, and knowing that Caiti was still there with one of our friends. And I like- the idea that people said that I abandoned Caiti- I didn’t abandon Caiti. I just really didn’t wanna throw up in their room. At the time, I was just like thinking how embarrassing that would be for me. I, you know, they had been there the night before, all night. You know, I thought, you know, these were people that we had already had conversations with during the day, that was the third time I had spoken to Dream during this event. I seriously thought these were people I could trust. I genuinely did. I genuinely did think these were people I could trust. They were bigger creators, they were already friends with friends of mine. I shouldn’t have to think that they were gonna do something to Caiti. Caiti, like I said, is my best friend and if I were to know that something was going to happen to her, I would’ve made her leave with me. I would’ve, I mean you guys saw the texts.

What I remember that night and the next day, woke up and just really thought about it, because Caiti had already left for the airport by that time, which is why I had texted her. It’s just like, me and Caiti are just like, you know, two peas in a pod. We never left each other. That was the only time that I really left her. I was with her the entire trip, I never left her side except those times when she was still with our other friend. And I regret it. I regret it. And I admitted to Caiti, I texted her, I have told her multiple times now how I feel horrible and that I blame myself for leaving her in that situation not realizing how uncomfortable she was and that’s completely on me. I’m really bad at picking up social cues. I was also incredibly drunk out of my mind, I was, and I do, I do take responsibility for the fact that I could’ve gotten Caiti out of that situation, and I didn’t. And I regret that and I am going to, like I said in my post, going to continue to try to make it up to Caiti even though she tells me that she doesn’t blame me and I shouldn;t blame myself. I still feel like I need to make it up to her and that’s why I’ve been supporting through everything. I have been doing everything I can to make sure that people understand that she’s not a liar.

In the end of the day, he is a horrible person, he did something absolutely disgusting and in the end of the day the blame is on him. Could I have done better, yes, but he is still the one that did that without her consent. And to now backtrack and say that “oh well now there’s proof” is like absolutely insane. I also know that people said that our friend group hated Dream and them. I didn’t. I didn’t at the time. If I did, would I have gone into his hotel room? Would me and Caiti have wanted to hang out with them? Absolutely not. Now have my opinions on them changed completely? Absolutely. They are honestly horrible people. And to say we changed Caiti’s opinions on that night, No. We didn’t. Caiti came to those conclusions on her own. And if you look at our text messages that we had that next day when I texted her asking her if she was okay, you can tell she still hadn’t fully processed that night. And I remember the next day we talked about it and we were like woah, dude. Like what was that? Like that was crazy.

I know people have been like well Dream had texted people asking about Caiti. No, not me. And me and Dream had been in contact for months after VidCon because I seriously saw him as a friend. I genuinely did. I invited them to hang out with us on multiple occasions. I talked to him at Twitchcon Vegas. I very much thought he was a nice guy and I personally thought completely different than all my other friends did but that doesn’t change the fact that he helped push a narrative that Caiti was a liar and that it wasn’t like how Caiti said. And my opinions on him have completely changed and he never once texted me asking about Caiti and George. The only time that we had a conversation about anything that had to do with that night was obviously when the withHarry happened and he texted me asking if it had seemed like anything had happened and I,a t the time, said no, because the conversation was not about George. The conversation was about him. And it was about the underage drinking and it wasn’t ever about whether or nog Caiti- it was just always just about him and not George which is why I said “dude no nothing seemed wrong” because he wasn’t doing anything wrong and I can stand by that comment and I said that in one of my posts. It wasn’t him, that was our conversation. It was never about George. It was about him and the Harry situation. And it was about- it at the time had seemed that Dream was the one that had taken advantage of Caiti and I said he didn’t and I didn’t lie. I never once lied about that. I never once got messaged about Caiti again from him. So, he never messaged me.

I hope I helped clear things up. I don’t have anything in front of me to help continue it. If I had something confusing to say- I would just have people come watch my stream also if they have any questions. I know there were more questions, I’ve been trying to answer things, but I’m just doing in little sections. I wanna make sure Caiti’s okay. I don’t wanna like fully take over her story because it is her story. And the fact now that they- and by they I mean dream team- is now suddenly switching up and saying “oh I am so sorry, I am so sorry like this is like horrible” are you? Because- are you really sorry? Or are you doing this to save your ass? Because let’s be real here, let’s be real. That’s basically it. Moral of the story- they don’t care about victims.

I hope I helped with people misinterpreting the situation. I know some misinformation was going around. I just want to reiterate because something that I feel like people are not understanding- we were never at a 21 and up party. Caiti never had a 21 and up wristband. If you watch Caiti’s vlog they cut the wristbands off afterwards and it just makes absolutely zero sense. Caiti never once made something seem like she was 21.

How Not To Distance Yourself From Fandom Drama As A Youtuber

Hi,

this is addressing what Scott Smajor said on stream regarding recent twitter harrassment of Ecto. I will preempt this by saying that I have known Ecto for a few years now and I support them. I think I have made my stance on "problematic content" and antis clear in the past, but to summarise: I am against censorship and harrassment. People can and should create whatever they want. If someone has an issue with what they make they should block and move on.

With that out of the way, what did Smajor actually say?

“If you don’t know what this is about, that is fine, you can stay not knowing. But if you do, this is me mentioning it, okay? I’m gonna do it. So. I’m going to try keep this short and simple, as I just want to clear some stuff up, I do not support proshipping. And until yesterday, I had no idea what proshipping was. Um, after last MCC, I removed, uh, Twitter from my phone, and I would only use it if I was on my laptop while I was travelling to VidCon and visiting [?]. So, on Saturday I was packing up my stuff and I checked Twitter before I shut off my laptop and noticed that an artist I followed, um, was receiving death threats and hate. And, me, not knowing fully what was going on, I shot them a DM along the lines of ‘sorry you’re getting hate’. Um, and then I logged out and flew home [?]. That was my mistake, as I should not have said anything without fully reading what was going on. Um, I’d just seen someone upset and wanted to help. After I got home and found out what was happening, I realised that people were saying that my DM meant I supported it, again, I do not. Um, I immediately unfollowed the artist, and have since told them that I do not- I did not realise the full degree of what had happened. Um, since this, I have made the decision to step away from Twitter, really. Um, I’m gonna do my best not to log in to look at it, um, or if you, or someone you know, is affected by this stuff, please do find the help you need, and take steps, uh, to protect your own mental well-being, like I am. Um, I would also like to say that my boundaries, um, with fanart and such has changed, and I am no longer okay with NSFW art of me or my characters. Um, and, that is the last I am going to talk on this subject. — As I said, chat, if you don’t know what it is, or what’s going on, enjoy the ignorance, enjoy the bliss. Just, you don’t need to know anything, nothing else is happening here, we’re not talking about it, we’re not going to be answering questions in chat, that’s it. Done."

I'm not gonna inspect every word in that tbh and I've talked extensively about what I think of creator boundaries in fandom before so I'll spare you guys that. But there are a few points I want to address.

"And until yesterday, I had no idea what proshipping was."

I will say that I have no idea how the term was explained to him or where he got his definition from. I do know there are various definitions floating around the internet, often biased in their approach. It might be that he got one of the definitions that was heavily biased towards the anti side. I won't judge him for that. The internet, and this discourse in particular is hard enough to navigate for someone who knows their way around it.

I will also acknopwledge that it might be hard for an outsider to understand any of it in the first place.

Which is why I think the statement "I do not support proshipping" is not the statement to make in this situation. This is not a discussion he has any experience with. And I am perfectly aware of how loud antis can get, particularly on twitter. This should not be a statement. Not just because I disagree with it. He is entitled to his opinion, as am I to my own. But because as a youtuber or any other celebrity or creative, you have to realise where your space ends and fandom begins and you have to realise that fandom will have its own rules and discussions and terms.

Honestly, it's like walking into a foreign country, reading one newspaper and starting to make statements about their politics. It can and will go wrong.

Here's the thing. If you truly think you have to make a statement addressing this particular issue, while completely ignoring any other criticims thrown at you by a lot of the same people who are saying a lot of things about this, try and make an informed statement. And maybe think about the message your sending to your viewers.

Ecto received harrassment, suicide bait, death threads, and got doxxed on top of it all. I would think someone who's been on the receiving end of harrassment the way Scott has been would at the very basic least be able to address that.

Instead, what he actually said amounts to "I don't support them. I wash my hands of all of it. I don't care what you guys do with them."

At best the harrassers will feel vindicated and quiet down. At worst he just enabled them to find their next targets.

I don't think it matters what he (or anyone else really) thinks about the content that Ecto was harrassed over. No one has to like it. But that does not mean there should be any doubt about the fact that harrassment and doxxing are wrong and that there should be no space for that. Not suppporting someone is one thing. Being someone with a platform who makes a statement like this, effectively giving in to people who have harrassed someone with a vastly smaller platform, without even mentioning that the harrassment is not okay, is a very different thing.

I understand that Scott might also be trying to protect his own mental health. I understand his history with twitter. But I will say that telling affected people to "take steps to protect your own mental well-being" is not the statement I personally think he should be making. I guess we'll just leave everything to the loudest, worst people then instead of even pretending what they're doing is not okay.

Hands down, the statement he made feels very much like he's saying "but surely the leopards won't eat my face". It's only been a day and MCC teams were released. The leopards on twitter are eating his face once again. And I wager I am not the only one out there who now knows that a youtuber we enjoyed watching would rather side with people who send death threats and doxx others than their victims.

This is a gift / apology art for the user @slimsnipes , after them being very kind (and tolerant of my incessant blabber mouth… so sorry about that... 😭) during a stream and helping improve my art skills and motivating me to keep creating!

Please, if you haven’t already, go check them out! They make wonderful art— especially Speeding Bullet-related content!!! >u< — and are just really cool in general, so if you want to be crying in awe for two hours straight (like me…), here’s the person to go to!

As for the artwork, I made it really late at night and really quickly— not because I was rushing but more because I made it during a spontaneous burst of inspiration at 1AM that even my sleepiness couldn't stop. -w-

Probably due to my inability to think straight from the tardy inspo-explosion, I made a mistake when drawing where Spy's ear and jawline ended up being WAYYY closer to his eyes than physically possible. I re-drew it in Markup and covered it up with shading (because I can't be bothered to erase the colouring and rip the paper LOL), and now, aside from the general area and lineart being slightly darker than the rest of his face, you can barely tell there was a change at all!

Plus, it helped improve my colouring a little bit, which was great because that was my initial goal with this drawing in the first place.

This work is not something I'm immensely proud of since there are a lot of flaws with it, like the entire wonky anatomy of Spy, that I feel I could have avoided if I had just made it during the day and... not so randomly... but I'm still going to post it here just to document the experience and take it as a lesson to learn from!

And, again, to reiterate, my standards are pretty low for what I post here-- anything that doesn't look like chicken scratch or scribbles-- because I want to post things that I truly express myself with, so I won't be leaving this one out!

Anyhow, that's about it for this one! Remember to check out slimsnipes and Lizziefij when you can, they are both super talented and they've really shaped the way I create, and I'm sure they'll inspire you too, in the best way possible!

Misc notes from the Maghni AI February Q&A Stream:

Aurum demo is going to be delayed by a few weeks, currently expected for the beginning of March.

Everything else should be on schedule.

Hype content will be posted around the end of February regardless of Aurum's demo being delayed! (Something fun, Oliver related, is coming before the end of this month. Assumedly - not mentioned, this is me saying this - his second English demo, since Austin's announcements match the schedule.)

Languages development has been going well on Natalia's part.

Audine recently finished her English recordings, development for her voicebank starts soon.

Crossy has been drawing a lot - for the upcoming February content and for the official character art, which is a lot of work since they want it to turn out perfect.

GABRIEL and GLASSIA's voice actors have been recording. GLASSIA's voice recordings are experiencing some delays because their voice actress wasn't satisfied with them, but she's a fast recorder according to Natalia.

GLASSIA is Brazilian.

Natalia and Austin are excited about the development of voice colors, and Austin is also excited about the engine themes. Barham is excited about the age and gender parameters (which are different!) though those won't be available on release. Caleb is most excited about phoneme editing but also mentions that some very powerful voices are coming. (I have never used VOCALOID so I didn't understand what Crossy was talking about o(￣┰￣*)ゞ something "V1 pitch bends better than V5")

The vocabulary they use around the program is inspired by a will to "paint the vocals". This is mentioned in response to someone asking if you can draw the pitch bends, to which the answer is yes.

They're putting a big focus on accessibility and beginner-friendliness, as they expect Maghni AI to be a first entry-point to vocal synth for many users due to the many languages it includes.

I'm not sure what exactly this is about, and it's mostly hypotheticals but they're enthusiastic about ideas adjacent to lyp-syncing. And feedings your voicebank little raspberries. For what it's worth

The two test libraries should have the exact same quality as other full libraries, but they will be limited in what they can do. (Like they won't have as many voice colors, their range might not be as great, they're just meant to be for getting a feel of the program.)

Maghni AI is meant to be very third-party friendly.

"Huge French vocal synth scene" mention!!!! (the girl taking these notes is French)

"Vocal A" is pretty much finished with his recordings.

Even if they create official stories with their characters, Vocatone's characters are up to your personal interpretation. (If Oliver is a silly goofy child to you, that's cool, if Oliver is very serious and broody to you, that's cool too.)

Next stream should be at the end of next month.

Growl parameter is an exciting prospect but probably not anytime soon. That being said, one of the voicebanks they're working on will have a voice color that's pure growl.

They were asked about "if they could have any UTAU for Maghni AI". I've been having a difficult time processing names but I'll do my best... Natalia: Momo Momone, Ruko, Ritsu - there are also voicebanks that aren't as big but are phenomenal, like Aiko Kikyuune - later mention: Yufu Sekka, Sayu Yurika. Barham: isn't familiar with UTAU. Austin: I didn't catch the name, sorry, but if I'm understanding well, two voicebanks he worked on? Caleb: Kakoi Nizimine. Crossy: Celeste? Then one I didn't catch, then Muyuka. Someone in the chat: Adachi Rei (which Natalia thinks would be phenomenal). Natalia keeps mentioning UTAUs so I'm giving up OTL

Figured I might as well post it here too as I'm on Tumblr now anyway haha. Interesting first post to make I guess. /lh

Here is the full transcript of Ranboo's stream regarding racism within the community. I left out some stuttering and breaks, but apart from that it should be a complete transcript.

Just saying this now, chat is going to be off simply because I don't want people going in here and be like "Oh you don't have to talk about this", it's not to stop any discussion or to like prevent any feedback it's simply so that people actually listen. It's the same as why there is gonna be no facecam as well. People can just focus on the topic and listen.Another reason facecam is off is because I don't think that I would be able to get the message out in the best way if there was facecam and I want to make sure that the message is as clear as possible, which again is why I'm probably gonna be pausing throughout intervals as well, just to make sure I'm wording everything correctly as well.

Now, you may be wondering what this stream is about, so let me give you guys a little bit of context in case there is anyone that just genuinely had no idea what's been going on over the past bit. So essentially what's been happening is BIPOC individuals have been experiencing racism from my community. And it's been in the form of either threads sent, or just general harassment as well. And it's been an issue for a bit. I know that I've talked about it a couple of times in the past, but those times weren't worded in the best way as well as they allowed for people to have some sort of wiggle room or like "Oh but it's ok if". It's not ok if and if you're thinking "oh but it's ok you don't really have to do this" that's just not correct. I didn't use the right type of language before which is why I have notes in front of me as well so if it ever seems like I'm reading off of something or something I just have notes in front of me just to make sure that I hit everything I want to say as well as word it correctly I didn't use the right language to talk about this issue before, I avoided using the words racism and BIPOC as well. I'm honestly not sure the reason and I'm sorry for not using stronger language when talking about this subject.

It also goes into the stream from a couple of days ago. The reason why I addressed in that way was I wanted it to become more of an ongoing discussion. And my one concern about doing a completely dedicated stream to it is that the people who genuinely needed to hear the message would not have clicked on it, not have listened if it was its own stream. But the message that I did give was after a promotion of everything as well as it was just not worded in the best way as well so it just ended up not being effective and in fact give the opposite effect as well which again I take full responsibility for and I apologise as well. The sort of approach that I took to talking about the harassment and racism that BIPOC individuals have received in the past has not been correct and especially not been enough. It has allowed for people to say "oh it's ok to ...". It's never ok full stop. Racism against BIPOC is never ok full stop. No matter what they say about me, no matter what they say about anyone, ok? No matter who they support who they don't support, it has never been ok period. And again I apologise for not stating that fact as strongly until now.

Now the sort of reason as well that I have seen, I've spoken to a lot of people who have gone through and have seen the harassment first hand. And I was able to sort of see where it starts, where it comes from as well. And a lot of the time people use racism to defend me, which is ridiculous for many many many reasons. One of them is I don't have to be defended, especially not using racism or harassment, anything. I don't have to be defended in any way. If someone has critiques against me, they should be allowed to say them without fear of people harassing them. And if people have critiques against the community as well they should be allowed to say that without being afraid of being harassed. It just doesn't help. That's the thing, it doesn't help in any way, it doesn't help anyone. All it does is prevent me from seeing said criticism and then being able to act on it. It prevents me from doing that and I am always open to criticism and I always have worked to try to see criticism and take it in and then change my ways or make a statement about it when I see it as well. And again I apologise for not doing so until today. I take full responsibility for the way it has gotten and the way the community has gotten as well. I'm again just very very sorry about that as well. The reason why chat is off is because of the fact that there have been a lot of people who are saying something along the lines of "oh it's ok", or "oh you don't have to address this" "you don't have to talk about this" and everything. And that is simply not the case, this is something that I should've talked about before and again I'm very very sorry for not to I take full responsibility for not speaking about it earlier as well.

And people saying that "Oh you don't have to say it" and everything, that is essentially just ignoring the fact that there is a problem. And it's saying that whatever problem that is going on is all on Twitter or something or it's like that. And that is just an incredibly backwards take of having. Because I would rather address anything that comes up in the community in order to make the community better, than to ignore an issue and let it grow to a point where it becomes a very very big problem like this has as well.

In regards to the stream yesterday, the idea that I had in mind was to hopefully start like more of a discussion by bringing it up more casually, but because I sort of jumbled my words a lot and also was avoiding using the proper terms like racism and everything which is what it was, the message was just not enough. It wasn't enough and I'm sorry about that as well. People were also saying that I made a comment for BIPOC to sort of like "move on" and everything, that comment was directed towards the people that see like a very mundane negative opinion of me like let's say you don't like my streams or something or you don't like my comedy style or something like that and then they would escalate that to the point of sending racist things to people or just harassment threads as well. That was sort of the "move on" statement, that's what that was meant to be about. The "move on" statement was never meant to be about genuine criticism or people who are genuinely affected as well. So I'm sorry, I'll be more mindful of using the proper wording for that in the future and also just preparing when I speak more about this type of stuff.

Because this isn't going to be the last time I think I'm going to have to speak about the racism that exists within my community, but also it shouldn't only be only listened to when it comes from me. It should be listened to from the BIPOC who are directly affected by this. It shouldn't have to only have change happen when I make something like a big statement about it or when I make a big stream about it. That shouldn't be what is only listen to. Because although I can do as much research into everything as possible, I will never understand what it's like to have my race used against me, to have racism used against me. I will never understand that, so I would much rather you also listen to the people who are genuinely affected as well. Because I can only do so much, I can only say so much. The change also has to continue there as well.

And again, I don't need to be defended in any way. I understand that the way I've handled the situation has come from an awful place of privilege, has come from just complete inexperience as well and a lack of education. And again I'm very very sorry for how I handled it and I take full responsibility for that as well. Again, there is no reason for anyone to be racist. That's the thing. And I know that's a very very like bare minimum phrase, but it shouldn't matter what they say about me, what they say about someone else, that should never ever happen. And if you say "oh but what if?" then I want you out of the community. I do not care if you have any "what if"s, that should never happen. It should never happen. And it absolutely is terrible that it has been and again I apologise to the people that have been affected by my community. I take full responsibility for that as well, as I should've been more strong-willed towards this in the beginning as well as now and I'll continue to be in the future as well.

I'm going to make sure to speak about this more and also I am working on becoming more educated in regards to the subject. I've been talking with BIPOC individuals as well who have been able to educate me. I thank you a lot, you know who you are the people that I've been talking to about this. I cannot thank you enough for helping me understand the steps to take, what to do, it means a lot. So thank you for that, thank you for anyone that has helped me over the past month with this subject as well. It really does mean a lot when you guys bring up these things to me because it means that you believe that I can do better and I'm glad that you have that faith in me to do better as well. And I'm very very sorry that that faith was broken with the statements that I've made before being not that strong.

This isn't going to be the only time that I'm going to talk about this. I plan to talk about this more often, be able to use my platform for good as well. And again, it shouldn't only have to be from me, I want you guys to listen to people who have gone through this. I want you guys to listen to the BIPOC within the community who have gone through this and at least try to understand their experiences and what you can do to make the community better as well. So I'm also going to start to be more vocal about these kinds of things as well. I'm going to try to find the problems within the community and stop them, well not necessarily stop them but at least try to make it clear that I'm just not ok with it. Because again the reason why the problem got so bad, the reason why the racism problem got so bad is because there we a lot of people who saw how interpretable my words were and thought "oh but it's ok if" and again I'm very very sorry that I've allowed that and I just want to again reinstate that it's never ok. Racism is never ok to use against anyone who is BIPOC. Again, sorry if I'm wording things incorrectly.

I also just wanted to thank the people who brought this to my attention as well. Thank you for again being willing to help, thank you for being willing to educate me as well as the other people in the community as well. I understand that it takes a lot of mental energy and a lot of mental time as well. And again I am just very very sorry that I have curated a community where some think that sending any type of racism or any type of harassment towards anyone for any reason is ok or justifiable, because it's not.

Now I'm gonna be talking a little bit about what I'm going to do in the future and also what we can do as a community as well. I'm going to start to be a little bit more vocal about the charities that we support as the charities have a lot of very very good resources that I would want people to look into and to use as well, as well as just support in general. I also want to thank some people in the community I've seen. A lot of people who are beginning to make support threads who are just uplifting more BIPOC in the community. And it means a lot to see that from this. And again I'm very very sorry that it got to the point that it did.

And I don't expect it to be solved from this. I don't expect everyone to forgive me as well for how I've handled it. And I understand that I'm going to have to regain trust as well which I hope to be able to do, because I don't want anyone feeling unwelcome in this community, except for of course people that are racist or are discriminatory for any reason. I don't want anyone to ever feel that I have allowed this within my community. I never want people to even remotely think that it is ok, because it's not. And again I'm extremely disappointed in myself for not being stronger with that as well as the last thing I wanted to do is create more problems for anyone. And I understand that because of the way that I've talked about racism in the past I have allowed and curated a community that has done that. And again I apologise for it. I take full responsibility for that as well.

This is going to be not just a one time thing, as I've said before. I don't expect everything to immediately be solved as soon as I say this. I do hopefully expect things to change, but I also know that there is a chance that they might not, which is why I'm going to continue to reinstate that fact as well. I'm going to be more vocal about it. I'm going to work harder towards creating a safer community for BIPOC as well, because again the harassment of other people that was sent to me was terrible to see and I can never begin to imagine what it must have felt like to receive that and to have that happen. And again I deeply apologise that I have allowed for my community to get to that point. Again, very very sorry for the way that my voice is or that maybe some of my wording has been as well. This just sort of happens whenever I'm talking about serious matters or serious subjects.

I just want the BIPOC community that exist to know that again I'm just very sorry for the way that things have gotten. I wish that I was more strict earlier with the weirdo's that existed. I wish I was more strict, but I also know that there's no way to go back and undo the mistakes that I've made. The only thing that I can do is acknowledge the fact that racism has existed within my community and continue to try to stop it. Or at least try to make it known that it's not ok. And I know that me just saying that isn't going to be enough, I know that it is also going to have to be actions in the future as well which I'm going to take. I'm going to try to continue to uplift BIPOC voices even more. And again I'm just very very sorry that it's all gotten to this point. I'm very sorry to have seen the harassment that people have received. I just wish that I was more vocally against it. As I thought that the strategies that I took before, the statements that I've said before would have been a good way of doing it and it wasn't. It wasn't and again I appreciate everyone who let me know that and I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me understand the problem and bringing up the fact that there is a problem with racism within my community.

Another thing that I also wanted to talk about is also genuinely when anyone, and I know that this is going to continue to happen, this is probably gonna happen for the rest of my internet career, when anyone has criticism against me, a negative opinion against me, it is their opinion of me. It is ok. You should never send harassment against them for that. I do not need to be defended, as random comments with no value do not affect me. Genuine criticism does affect me cause it does make me want to do better. But that doesn't mean that genuine criticism is always a bad thing. It's never a bad thing. And people who think that it's a bad thing have, I'm just not sure as to why, I believe it is because they think that any type of criticism is an attack against me, which is again not the case, but then they see it and they go "Oh if they're attacking my favourite creator then that gives me the right to attack them!". Nothing gives you the right to be racist towards someone or to attack someone. Someone can call me the absolute worst things known to mankind. There should never be any type of retaliation if you call yourself a fan of mine in regards to that. There should never be any harassment, any racism that is sent towards that person because of anything that they say against me. Because, if they're saying random things against me which hold no value, then I do not take it to heart as much as they will if you harass them, if you send them death threads or if you send them anything that is racist as well. If you ever do that, if you ever did that, I do not want you watching me. I do not want you enjoying my content, I do not want you following me. If you think that I am such a perfect person that any type criticism against me is grounds for racism, then I do not want you in the community. I do not want you watching me. Because there is never grounds for any of that.

Please continue to have discussion. Don't just act like everything is solved immediately, because it's not. It won't even be close. This won't even have as large as an effect as people usually make it out to be whenever I do make a statement. Please continue to have discussions about this, please continue to talk about this. Please continue to uplift the voices of people that do have genuine discussion and of people who have genuine criticism against me. Because it is ok, I want to learn, I want to just make a better place on the internet in general and the fact it has gotten to this point is just exactly the opposite of what I'm trying to create. And the fact that my community has bred more racism has just been an absolutely awful thing. And the fact that those people feel safe within my community disgusts me, as I don't want them to feel safe anywhere. They should never feel safe anywhere on the internet or in real life. This isn't going to be the only time that I'm going to talk about this. This isn't going to be the only statement that I make probably even today. I'm going to be listening to feedback about this as well as I'll make mote statements if I need to as well. It's very much an awful situation, but I have faith that hopefully we can make it better, at least a little bit. And again I'm very very sorry if any of my wording has been incorrect or if any of my word switching or stuttering has lead to anything. I will clear up anything more that I need to clear up. And just thank you to everyone for bringing it to my attention. I hope that we can continue to talk about this problem, continue to learn from it as well. And again I take full responsibility for how things have gotten within my community. I'm sorry for not saying anything that has been as, not necessarily harsh, but sort of strong sooner. I'm sorry for leaving things up for interpretation. I take full responsibility for how I've acted in the past in regards to the subject of racism within my community and I will take full responsibility for how I act in the future. I hope that we can just continue to have a discussion about it within the community as well, continue to call out people as well. If you see anyone who is sending any type of racism or any type of harassment towards anyone, call them out. And if they aren't willing to listen, get them out of the community. I would rather lose so many people if it means that the people that are left still feel safe. Cause it's just disgusting that people that thought, maybe even continue to think, the racists that existed within my community, it disgusts me to think that they ever felt safe. And again I take full responsibility for that as well. And I'm very sorry for the fact it's gotten to this point. I know I've repeated that a lot and sorry about that as well.

I'm sure I might've left out some things as well. If I have I'm going to clear it up as well, I will talk about it more. Thank you guys for listening. Hopefully you guys have taken these words to heart. And again I understand if you feel uncomfortable watching me or my content that is completely ok. I hope that everyone is doing what is best for them during this time and again I'm very very sorry to the BIPOC that have felt unsafe in my community because of the way that I acted as well as the community members have acted. I'm very sorry about that. Please be willing to listen as well. Be willing to listen to the resources that have been provided. And just be willing to listen sometimes. Because people sometimes feel the need to give their opinion, when in reality it does not need to be given and it does not need to be said. Sometimes listening and absorbing the information is the most important thing. Because that's another problem that's been brought up is the fact that people simply will not listen and they'll get so focused in their mindsets that they aren't even willing to realise that what they're doing hurts people. Again I'm just very sorry that everything has gotten to this point. I'll talk about probably this more tonight as well. Again I'm open to any criticism that exists from what I've said. I'm not going to get everything perfect and I'm sorry if I haven't said everything in the correct way. I'm always willing to listen, always willing to grow and I hope that everyone that watches is able to as well. And again I'm just very sorry and I take full responsibility for how the community has gotten. And I hope to be able to help to make it at least a little bit better.

INT. High tech science facility, on the top floor-Night

A long white hallway for a science facility. The walls are lined with metal doors that are for specific experiments. Elijah is whistling as his footsteps echoed through the passageway. Two guards are in front of the main door at the end of the hall.

GUARD 1

Hey you're not supposed to be here

ELIJAH

(acting as if confused) What? Oh I thought this was the way to the bathroom, my bad lads. I may have taken a wrong turn (Turns away from the guards as if heading to leave but in a second he turns back and shoots them both with his laser gun, Stunting them both. Pushes past them and walks in the room)

INT. Large lab

a large room with a lot of tech and scientific instruments and a big window lining the wall.

ELIJAH

(looking around) Well ain't this nice (Touches his watch and a beep sound happens) Hera got eyes on the goods?

HERA

Of course I do, what do you take me for a rookie? Okay the blueprints gotta be on the computer on your left into the far corner. Don't click anything till I tell you to, got it Elijah?

ELIJAH

Yes Ma'am (Sarcastically)

HERA

Turn on the computer and put in the USD I gave you into the port

ELIJAH

Hmm ok how long will this take? I'm sure the silent alarm already went off and I bet they're already sending some cops over to slap on some coffs on me

HERA

Only a minute, gods you're so impatient sometimes (Annoyed)

ELIJAH

Oh i'm sorry that I don't want to get caught and spend lifetimes in prison for breaking into one of the most guarded places in the universe (Sarcastically)

Sound of a laser heating up and then Elijah ducks out of the way (Cusses under his breath) as someone shot a laser at him melting a hole into the glass window

ELIJAH

The hell!?...of course it's the bloodsucker (annoyed)

SIMON

Hello mutt (Mad/annoyed)

ELIJAH

(Looks at the hole in the window) Someone is a bit upset today, you obviously had intentions to kill

SIMON

Don't be dramatic I knew that you would have moved out of the way

ELIJAH

Or maybe you just have shity aim

SIMON

Oh really (Shoots again barely missing Elijah, Elijah was not expecting that)

ELIJAH

Hey-! Calm down fangs no need to be so trigger happy

SIMON

Can we not do this whole banter thing we always do please ( Tired)

ELIJAH

Thats boring, the best part is the banter

HERA

Done!

SIMON

Done? Done what? The hell did you steal this time Mutt?!

ELIJAH

That is none of your business fangs (He took the USB out)

SIMON

There is nowhere for you to go, We have the place surrounded so I recommend you come with me and no one gets hurt

Elijah glasses out of the window. Simon sight, ELijah shifts into a large wolf and looks as if he was gonna jump

SIMON

No- don't you even think about it even if you shift it still wouldn't break. You would need an explosion to shatter it (He explains as he walks to Elijah)

(An explosion happens)

EXT: Falling out of a building.-night

The whole top floor explodes and the window shattered as the floor falls in on one side making they to fall out of the building and into the Underground

SIMON

AAAA Of course I would die like this, NO get your paws off of me you mutt Nooo AAAAAA (Screaming this as they are falling. Elijah grabs Simon to protect him from the crash. Water splash)

EXT: body of dirty water in the Underground, night

The force of the water makes ELijah to pass out and turn back to normal. They sink in the deep water. Sounds of Simon struggling in the water.

The pull of the water are moving them down stream

SIMON

(Gasping and coughing) What!?...Where am I?...Mutt where are you?! (choking because of the water) Elijah!?!? (Sound of rushing water fades out. Quiet for a few seconds.)

INT: End of the river in the Underground- night

Water crashing against a shore. Simon crawls out of the water as he coughs up water. Elijah has washed up next to him. Simon looks at him then turns him over to lay on his back. He tries to shake him awake.

SIMON

Hey…Mutt are you still alive?...(Shakes more) Hey!...Elijah! ( Slaps him. Starters to panic a bit. Starts to do CPR on him by pushing his chest a bit.) I swear…If you die on me I'll be so annoyed… I can't arrest a dead man. (Nothing happened. He realized that he’ll have to do mouth to mouth) Ughh if you wake up you definitely owe me for this (He leaned down but then a beep sound appeared. A hologram appears)

SIMON

The hell!? (Taken aback)

HERA

Oh you're still here…and he's out cold ( Another hologram appears)

Hmm His vitals are okay so that's good

SIMON

…Do I still need to…you know

HERA

Oh no you keep your pretty lips to yourself . We have some special precautions in place in case things like this happen…which they do…often…very fucking often (sounds more annoyed as she continued to talk)

HERA

Clear! (cheerful tone)

SIMON

What?

A lightning that comes from the watch shocked Elijah

SIMON

Jesus christ (shocked)

HERA

Oh it usually works on the first try…hmm…Clear (Shokes him again and this time he gasps awake as he coughs up water) There you go, Welcome back Elijah i hope you enjoyed your little nap

ELIJAH

You were a bit late Hera (voice still weak) I may need to check your code

HERA

I didn't have to bring you back, all I want is a simple ‘Thank you’ is that too much to ask?

ELIJAH

Thank you Hera for doing the bare minimum (sarcastically, noticed Simon)

Why are you still here Fangs? You're still gonna arrest me?

SIMON

Of course I will! You blew up a fucking building

ELIJAH

No i didnt…why would I do that???

SIMON

…I don't know, maybe to distract us while you escaped

ELIJAH

In all of my years of stealing from rich pricks, I haven't done anything that stupid, and why would I risk my own safety for a stunt like that?

SIMON

(Stayed quiet to think for a counter argument)...Damn it

ELIJAH

I thought that y'all were the ones to do that

SIMON

Why on earth would we blow up our own facility?!

ELIJAH

Oh I don't know, why don't you tell me, sheriff!?

(They are getting mad at eachother)

SIMON

So what do you think that this was all a big conspiracy?!

ELIJAH

Yeah i do, it's not the first time the higher ups have done something this twisted before

SIMON

Bullshit!

ELIJAH

2057 the fall of Sky light that killed thousands of people from the Underground, 2070 collapse of the infinite bridge, killed 6 thousand people from the underground and 2 thousand from the StarLight. It fell on top of a fucking hospital-!

SIMON

Shut up!

ELIJAH

2086 fire of the abyss, killed 9 thousand of people and-

SIMON

That was the rebellion and you fucking know it!

ELIJAH

Oh yeah is that what the higher ups tell you?!

SIMON

The proof is there! Their tag was all over the place

ELIJAH

Bullshit! You don't know what the hell those jackasses put people like me through. They’re all living comfortably on their asses, they never had to fight to survive!!!

SIMON

You don’t understand! They had to fight to get where they are now!

ELIJAH

I can’t believe you…you a hybrid are protecting them!! After all the shit they did to people like us!!!… you’re so desperate to be accepted by humans that you’re trying to become human…pathetic(They are at each other's throats, Simon snaps then punches Elijah in the face. They get into a fight. Elijah is too weak to shift. Simon pins Elijah he ground and puts handcuffs on him)

SIMON

By the grace of the higher ups you have right to a trial and the chance to plead your case, everything you say may be used against you…But I would keep my mouth shut if I were you, Mutt (Elijah obviously struggled, Simon gets Elijah up to his feet. He looks around)

SIMON

Where are we?

ELIJAH

…

SIMON

Answer me (Shoves him)

ELIJAH

I thought you said that I should stay quiet? (Sarcasm)

SIMON

Don't be a smartass and answer the question

ELIJAH

We’re in the Underground…home sweet home…

(Simon looks around and notices the old rusting buildings that look on the verge of falling apart. Stairs that lead to the busy streets of the Underground. A big hologram showing the news of the exploding that just happened)

NEWS ANCHOR

In the explosion we lost a brave hero, Sheriff Simon Sloan that was in pursuit of the terrorist that just has been identified as Elijah Wood. Law enforcement has said that Elijah Wood was a member of the rebellion. (The news anchor fades away)

SIMON

They think I'm dead?…

ELIJAH

Oh what a shame such a shame (sarcastic)

SIMON

Can you just be quiet for a second without saying a sarcastic comment

ELIJAH

So now I have to stay quiet, which is it? To shut up or talk Fangs? (He noticed a red dot on Simon’s head) the fuck?... (says in a whisper. A far sound of a laser gun heating up slowly appears. He pushes Simon out of the way and the laser misses them both. They fall to the ground)

SIMON

Are you insane!?

ELIJAH

I just saved your life!

SIMON

(He pushed Elijah off of him, he noticed 3 guards in full tactical suites heading to them. Simon smiled)

Back up! Thank god, I caught the terrorist and he's no longer a danger.

2 GUARD

(talking into an earpiece)

Sir they are alive…hmm…just the target?...yes sir…copy that (aims gun at Simon and laser gun heats up again. Simon is confused but Elijah realizes what is happening)

ELIJAH

…run (He grabs Simon’s hand and heads to the busy streets to lose them. They shoot and miss them)

EXT: Crowded downtown of the Underground-night

They run through the crowd. It’s dark and a lot of smoke. It’s dirty and there are a lot of background noises. It’s only lit up by glowing signs and hologram tvs

SIMON

Why did they shoot at me?… I’m the target??? I thought (in shock)

ELIJAH

Snap out of it Fangs and move your ass!!

(They run into any ally. Elijah opens a manhole and drops down)

SIMON

Where are you going?!?

ELIJAH

Just come down!!

(Simon hesitates bc they would be going into the sewer and it smells bad)

ELIJAH

Simon, come on!!!

SIMON

ugh damn it-

(He jumps down. Elijah pushes a button and the manhole cover moves back to its place. There’s an echo of course)

SIMON

God this reeks

ELIJAH

shhhh

(The guards come into the alley. They walk around)

3 GUARD

Where did they go?…

2 GUARD

Damn it-…(Talks into a earpiece)

We lost sight of the target and the terrorist…yes, of course sir…” (ends call)

1 GUARD

What did he say?

2 GUARD

he said to regroup and he’ll send out a search group for them.

1 GUARD

What do we do if we find them?

2 GUARD

kill on sight

(They leave. Once they leave Simon looks at Elijah with a shocked look on his face)

ELIJAH

told you they were evil

SIMON

But why???…I’ve dedicated my life to the higher ups…

ELIJAH

If people see that they were wrong

Then people will lose trust…if they say that you’re dead then you have to stay dead

SIMON

I can’t believe this…

ELIJAH

Come on, it's not that hard to believe. Think about this on the bright side you’re a dead man, all of your debt is gone! Forget your old life and make a new one (walks down the sawyer and Simon follows)

SIMON

This isn’t good! I liked my life! I was respected, beloved…my life was comfortable…

ELIJAH

all the respect was for nothing if they could just throw you away like that

SIMON

…I have to go to see my father, he can help me!

ELIJAH

Are you serious??? What makes you think he’s not a part of this?! He’s the fcuking head of the law department! He’s most likely the one to give the order to kill you

SIMON

no he wouldn’t he’s a good man!

ELIJAH

you’re an idiot…

SIMON

And you’re wrong…(he walks back to the manhole)

ELIJAH

Do you even know how to get back up to the Starlight? You know it’s nearly impossible for anyone to pass the border

SIMON

(Stays silent for a second)

Damn it-…do you know how I can get back to the Starlight?… (he’s annoyed that he had to ask)

ELIJAH

Of course, what do I get if I help you?

SIMON

I don’t know…what do you want???

ELIJAH

Beg

SIMON

what (taken aback) are you serious?!

ELIJAH

….pff- I’m just fucking with you. Come on, If you end up getting killed because of your stupid plan is good for me, you’ll won’t be a pain in my ass any more

SIMON

(Sight and rolls his eyes. Follow Elijah.)

Fine…(time skip)

INT: Sewer in the Starlight

They make it and Simon touched the ladder that leaves the sewer

SIMON

we’re here?

ELIJAH

Yup, just go up and you’re home

SIMON

(Hesitates)…thanks for your help

ELIJAH

Don’t mention it…and don’t look for me ok?…I’m “dead” reminded?

EXT: an ally in the Starlight

Simon goes up the manhole and leaves Elijah.

He’s in an alleyway. He looks down at the manhole and then sighs. He pulls up his hood to hide his face. Suddenly his phone rings. He looks at it and the name says HERA

SIMON

The hell?…(picks up)

HERA

Hellooooo am I coming through?

SIMON

How did you get my number???

HERA

It wasn’t that hard

SIMON

ok but how?!?

HERA

a magician never reveals their secrets

SIMON

Whatever, what do you want? Did Elijah tell you to hack my phone?

HERA

I don’t need him to tell me what to do all the time

SIMON

Ok, what do you want, Hera?

HERA

I have a feeling that your little reunion plan will backfire sooo I sent you the location of our base.

SIMON

Wouldn’t the Mutt be mad if I just showed up?

HERA

Oh yeah definitely but he’s too much of a good man to kick you out, just let the water works out and he’ll fold

SIMON

I don’t know…I not gonna need it but thank you, Hera

HERA

anytime Simon, if you need me just give me a ring and I’ll be there (she leaves the call. Time skip)

EXT: The outside of Simon’s father’s house-Night

Simon walks up to the house and hesitates for a moment. He knocks on the door. A few seconds passed and Simon’s father opened the door.

SF (Simon’s Dad)

Simon?…you’re alive?(surprised)

SIMON

Yeah I am (nervously chuckles)

I’m here

Come in

(Lets Simon in)

INT: In SF’s house- Night

They sit at the dining room table as the father goes to prepare tea

What happened?

SIMON

As you know an explosion happened on the top floor sending Elijah and I to the Underground. He- (hesitates) died on impact and I fell into a body of water. I got out and…some guards found me and tried to kill me…I don’t know why

(Stays silent for a second)

I see…how did you come back to Starlight?

SIMON

I…snuck my way through the alleyways and found an opening.

Hmmm…and you don’t have a clue why they would want you dead?

SIMON

not a clue! I have no idea why the higher ups would want me dead…

(They stay silent for a second then the sound of a laser gun heating up. Simon looked back him and saw his father holding a gun at him)

Forgive me son

SIMON

dad?…(he dogges the laser, chair falls over)

Why?!?

I have to!

(Keeps shooting. Things shattering and breaking. Simon pulls out his gun and stands his father. He passes out. Sirens can be heard coming)

SIMON

You set me up…(out of breath and betrayed)

EXT: out of the house and running through alleyways- night

Simon is running from the cops till he eventually finds a manhole and gets into the sewers again. He takes a second to catch his breath. He calls Hera

HERA

Hellooo Fangs! Let me get your plan went topside?

SIMON

You were right…he tried to-….gods…(voice breaks a bit)

HERA

oh poor baby, this might be a lot for you…sooo are you coming over?

SIMON

I don’t have a chance do I?…

HERA

Like I said earlier, the location of our base is on your phone. Also use the back door, Elijah is gonna loose his minds if he saw you (time skip)

IMT: in a big opening in the sewers under the Underground- Night

ELIJAH

Hera, has all of the files downloaded to the computer yet?

HERA

yeah yeah almost, there’s a lot of info in here ok…if you actually took the time and buy me good hardware this whole process would go much faster (annoyed)

ELIJAH

I’m so sorry that I’m not made out of money (sarcastic)

HERA

done! (Hologram sounds appealing)

ELIJAH

…what the hell does it say???

HERA

I’m not sure, I don’t recognize the language

ELIJAH

This is great, how can we stop the higher ups if we can read their damn blueprints!

SIMON

…it’s Enochian…

ELIJAH

How?? Where?! Why the fuck are you here?!? (Surprised and mad, pulls out gun at Simon)

SIMON

Hey calm down!…I’m…im here to help

ELIJAH

Help? Do you really expect me to believe you?

SIMON

you were right, my father was in on it…he tried to kill me, this was the only place I thought could keep me safe…(sound really sad and tear up a bit)

ELIJAH

how did you know that I would be here?! Did you put a tracker on me?!

SIMON

what?? No Hera send me the location

ELIJAH

(Sighed in annoyance) of course she did, Hera, what's the point of a secret base if people know it's existence?!

HERA

I couldn’t let the poor guy die out there! How could i say no to a pretty face like that

ELIJAH

I mean you could have…

SIMON

I can help you read the blueprint, only if you tell me what’s your plan

ELIJAH

…fine, we think that the higher ups are planning to make a weapon or something to destroy the rebellion at its source,by wiping out the Underground completely. Killing hundreds in the process. We think that this is the blueprint to that secret weapon

SIMON

…That's… ( speechless)

ELIJAH

Yeah…now that you know, tell us what this says now

SIMON

Fine…(Sight then reads the blueprints. A few minutes passed)

SIMON

It says…something about a gem???

ELIJAH

You sound like you're not sure

SIMON

Well i am a bit rusty

ELIJAH

So you lied about knowing how to read that shit!

SIMON

I wasn't lying! Just give me a damn minute…Hera was right you're so impatient…(Continues to read)...It talks about a gem that holds energy to power up something called The Last Resort…Located in the bottom floor in the Everything else are like equations and scientific words that I don't understand

ELIJAH

Can you just right down what you see

I can try but it doesn't translate to english nicely

INT: Elijah’s base- Morning

It's already morning and they stayed up all night to decode the blueprint

SIMON

(takes a sip of coffee) ok so…debrief…The higher ups are making a super weapon called The Last Resort right?

ELIJAH

Yup

SIMON

And they are gonna power it up with a…battery thing? called the Pandora Gem…

ELIJAH

…yeah, I think…wait a minute, yeah that's right…your handwriting is horrible by the way

Simon and Elijah are in their descuses and are gonna walk in the facility (different VAs)

(Taken aback and doesn't know what to do, looks at Simon for help, his ass is NOT helping bc he also doesn't know what to do)

Umm..haha..sure why not. You might have to remind me later tho because my life is a bit chaotic at the minute and you know, but yes. Definitely but not today!...Later yup umm…see you later handsome (Simon and him start to speed walk as fast as they can)

SIMON

ELIJAH

INT: inside of the facility- day

They walk into the building and head to the head scientist room looking for a secret room or something

Hera can you scan the room for any secret rooms?

Great we have to do thai the old fashion way, come on fangs better get looking

They follow Dr Dalias down the hallway. Simon whispers to Elijah)

Can you two stop whispering, it's very irritating (She stops in front of a storage room and puts in a pin in the keypad on the door, the door opens but its not a storage room its an elevator) Get in (They get in)

SIMON

…The storage room, really??? (Whispers to ELijah)

SIMON

Shhh (whispers back)

INT: they are in a big secret laboratory

Time skip, the elevator doors open to a big laboratory with big machines and like science stuff, they walk in.

DR DALIAS

Alice you go over the equations you did last night whine James and I look over the pandora’s gem stability

ELIJAH

Yes ma'am (he leaves)

DR DALIAS

(Simon and her walks a bit till they make it to a big tube structure with glowing blue gems in it, She walks to her desk and picks up a glass box with a small blue glowing gem in it) As you know the pandora’s gem can be a bit…unpredictable, here figure out a way to make it stable enough to be used as a battery (hands the box to Simon)

SIMON

Okay, hmm how exactly do I do that

DR DALIAS

Are you serious? I thought you were one of the top engineer in the country and you can't figure out how to stabilize an energy gem

SIMON

Oh yes I do know but, we studied this gem for a while and I want to know your expert opinion on how I should move forward with this….i don't wanna mess up haha…

DR DALIAS

…fine, here look through my notes and fighter it out now stop bothering me. (She hands him a book)

SIMON

Thanks (he takes it then goes to Elijah as she goes into her office)

ELIJAH

Is that?

SIMON

This is the pandoras gem

ELIJAH

So…do we just take it and leave?

SIMON

She has more, like hundreds more so it wouldn't matter if we took one…she said that it was unstable so i think the only way to stop them is it destroy all of it

SIMON

She gave me a book on many ways to do that (they look into the book, small time skip, they have attached batteries to the gem and are just power it up a lot)

ELIJAH

Okayy test 6 using a fuck ton of electricity is a go (they start it)

SIMON

okay its glowing more but…nothing is really happening

…we could just try throwing it on the grown really hard again

I guess…man who knew a small thing like this could hold up so much energy (he taps it with a pen, it blows up, knocking them back a bit, Dr Dalias storms out of her office

The hell happened!?!

Oh umm I was trying to stabilize it and it just… you know it blew up haha…

DR DALIAS

Are you insane?! You could have killed us because of your little experiment!!! Just clean this up!...I'll have a word with the higher ups to have you two fired for putting all we worked for in danger!(Simon and Elijah stand there as she gets in the elevator then leaves)

SIMON

…i think we know how we can destroy it…(He turns off the mask and so does Elijah)

ELIJAH

Damn right we do come on lets over power this shit and blow it up to kingdoms come! (they start to look at the machines that are connected to the tube filled with the pandora’s gems, Simon noticed something in the Doctor's office)

SIMON

(he walks in and then he gasps)...Gods…Elijah, get in here quick!

ELIJAH

What’s wrong?...the hell!? (they see a tube with a child in it connected with IVs and in a glowing blue liquid, the kid is alive)

SIMON

(He sees paper work on the doctor’s desk and reads it)...this is The Last Resort…this kid is the secret weapon…

ELIJAH

…its…is it even human? Or like us?..

SIMON

The higher ups made them…ELijah we can't just…

ELIJAH

We can't what?

SIMON

We can't leave them here…they're just a kid

ELIJAH

It's a secret weapon

So? That's not their fault…we have to take them with us

Here take the kid and get out (Takes off jacket and wraps it around the kid then hands the kid over to Elijah, he takes them)

You're faster than me and i know how to destroy the machine

ELIJAH

Vampers have a faster regeneration than werewolves, i'll be fine

ELIJAH

…fine…you know the way back to base right?

SIMON

(Turns to leave)

…If you're not back in like 5 minutes i will comeback for you

I'm sure you will, just go (Elijah runs off with the kid leaving Simon behind, he goes and puts all of the machens in overdrive. When he finishes the elevator doors swing open, it's the doctor and a few guards)

DR DALIAS

You! You snake! Guard got him!

SIMON

Stop if you come any closer i'll blow all this shit up!!!

DR DALIAS

You're bluffing

SIMON

This is your last chance (The guards look nerves and they just leave)

DR DALIAS

You cowards all of you!! Simon, you traitor. What would the world think if they found out that you betrayed Starlight for the revolution!!

SIMON

I want them to know what a fraud all this is! Killing innocent people for what!?!

DR DALIAS

You don't understand, this is much bigger than you or I!!!

SIMON

I don't care (shoots the tube and then goes to find cover)

Noo!!! (It explodes, fades and we head over to Elijah)

EXT: outside of the facility running far away- day

Elijah made it out with the kid in his arms, he's pretty far away through alleyways

Hera calls Juniper now

HERA

Got it, they're already on the way…you are worried about Simon right?

ELIJAH

Of fucking coure I am! He's a dumb idiot that just decided to risk his life and for what!?...I know why but…I could have done it!

HERA

You're both too stubborn for your own good

ELIJAH

…i guess…damn it! (A car honks the horn, Elijah stop and knows its Juniper, runs to the car)

JUNIPER

The hell? Why do you have a kid?!

It was Simon’s idea

JUNIPER

Damn yall move fast, where is Simon?

ELIJAH

He wanted to stay behind to finish the job, he said that he’ll be back before it blew up (Explosion happened)...Simon…

(He leaves the kid in the car with Juniper and then turns into a wolf and runs to Simon, small time skip )

EXT: outside of the facility

There's a giant hole in the side of the building. There's ruble everywhere, Elijah goes down and tries to find Simon, he turners back into a human

ELIJAH

Simon!!! Where are you !!! (Moving large pieces of rocks)

Come on answer me you bastard!...please (Becoming more panicked)

SIMON

(Caught and moves a bit, Elijah sees him and goes to him helping him)

You're ok, just…come on (Pulls Simon out of the ruble, Simon’s right arm and leg are gone) fucking hell…

I wanna go home…I'm tired…

Don't you dare die on me, you still have a kid to take care of (Helps him out and they sneakily walk away from the ruble to escape. Time skip)

INT: back in Elijah’s base-day

A few days passed, the explosion was called an attack by the revolution. Simon is in ELijah’s bed to rest. He opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the kid looking at him with curious eyes, they were wearing old kids clothes. Simon was taken aback

SIMON

…Hi?...

KID

Hello

SIMON

You can talk?? (Taken aback)

KID

Yes I can. ( Walk to the corner of the room where Elijah was sleeping on a chair they shake Elijah awake)

ELIJAH

What do you want, kid? can’t a guy just get some rest (He's still half asleep)

SIMON

Hey Elijah…

ELIJAH

(He instantly wakes up)

Simon! Hm how are you? Do you feel pain?.. Are you hungry or thirsty? I can ask Juniper to make you something to eat if you-

SIMON

I'm ok. (He cuts Elijah off) just a bit sore…(He sits up and then notices his arm) My arm, its…

ELIJAH

Yeah, and your leg is also gone…but hey Juniper made you a badass prosthetic

SIMON

(He moves his robot arm a bit)...thank you…all of this…i'm sorry for all of the years i've treated you like shit…if i had known what the higher ups were doing i wouldn't have dedicated my life to them…

ELIJAH

SIMON

30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?

Yes! I don't know what possessed me to start writing [i can't be wrong (to be craving you)] completely out of the blue, but that fic is largely free-form, stream of consciousness, which I hadn't really played with before. And I have to say, what I thought would be a six chapter fic turned into 100k words and it's one of my crowning achievements. I am infinitely proud of how it turned out. But I tapped into a lot of my own experiences to write a realistic look at Emily's PTSD and now....I can't even read the fic without having panic attacks. So that sucks, but hopefully one day I'll be able to enjoy it myself.

[Between You & Me] was quite fun to write because of the way I used flashbacks to move the narrative along and weave threads through the fic. In doing so, it made my timelines SO complicated. I have pages and pages of timeline drafts for that fic, each chapter was re-written multiple times. I would say this was my most frustrating fic to write in terms of chapter planning. But I adore the final product.

Final one I'll mention because it was such a weird little experimental fic, [False Flags and the Art of Misdirection] is SO underrated. It was basically like if Glass Onion was turned into a CM fanfic. Planning the twists and turns and misdirection was a BLAST. Then, I had to created the police 'transcripts' which were dialog from canon, but they wove the story together. It was such a fun fic to write and I'm so proud of it.

40. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

Originally when I first started writing CM back in 2014, I would write thing sin one sitting, post them to AO3 and never look back. I wouldn't even do a proof-read (sorry old readers!). I'd say out of my 80-ish fics from back then, I'd only ever read about five. When I came back to writing last July, I went through my original fics and read each one for the first time. There were tons I had no recollection of writing! So it was a wild ride. Now, I re-read my fics constantly! I read fic to my partner at bedtime, it's our cute little routine. They've never watched CM, but they've fallen in love with JJ/Tara/Emily through reading my fic (and me reading them fic from friends). I read them every new chapter I write and it's so special to share that together. Besides reading aloud, I also re-visit tons of my smut for masturbatory purposes, because I know it's exactly what turns me on!

41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”

[Take My Hand and show Me the Way] was the fic that changed everything for me. MJDuncan is incredible and this really is the cornerstone Jemily fic. I read this and went 'Oh god, I want to write JJ/Emily now!' and so I did, and so I continue to do nearly a decade later.

[Dreams, Schemes, and In-Between] is one of the best rom-com Jemily fics to ever be written. I actually became friends with @otahkoapisiakii bc I went to yell at them how much I adored their writing. Turned out, they felt the same about me. We've been platonically married for going on nine years now.

And now I'm going to come at you directly, because [(I'll be) a place to rest your bones] is one of the most beautifully painful fics I've read and it really stuck with me. I wrote a review on a Friday Fic Recs list, but honestly, I think your writing really helped inspire me as I wrote 'i can't be wrong'

This is a transcript of a semi fanfic semi rambling stream of conciousness I wrote on discord about an idea i had for an au. I did not write this intending for it to become a fanfic so it is formatted and written horribly lol. Hope you enjoy my mad scribbles and babbles.

Osgood had been knocked out cold by a sudden explosion, hitting her head hard against a wall.13 saw so she rushed over and checked her pulse. And to her complete bewilderment she hears a shockingly familiar "thump thump thump thump"

She freezes. How?! how was this possible?! There surely had to be another explanation, maybe osgood had a heart transplant or something embedded in her heart that made it sound like that! Surely she couldnt be- no, that's impossible, right?

She rushes osgood to an infirmary and has to leave to deal with whatever threat had attacked in the first place.

Later when that's done tho she goes back to the unit infirmary and finds kate sitting next to osgood on her hospital bed. Theres a "do not disturb" sign outside the door to the room and osgate are the only ones in there.

"Pretty odd for an infirmary room to have a do not disturb sign" 13 thinks but focuses on finding out how osgood is doing.

(Osgood is asleep btw)

13: So, how is she? She got hit pretty hard, knocked out cold

Kate looks a bit startled at the sound of 13s voice and seemingly scrambles to hide what looked like some xray prints

Kate: o-oh! Yes shes doing fine, got a nasty bruise on her head and some other bumps and scrapes but nothing too serious.

13: (slightly suspicious at this point) where's the med staff? You elected yourself as her personal caretaker or something? I dont mean this in a bad way but you seem like you have too much on ya plate to try learning medical care

Kate: oh no the med staff tended to her, I was just helping. I just had to, shes one of my best friends after all.

13: ah gotcha. Sorry, dont mean to pry but shouldnt her heart monitor be on?

Kate freezes for a brief moment and some color drains from her face.

Kate: uh-

Before kate can react 13 has turned on the monitor for her and to her surprise, she sees the dual heartbeats again.

The doctor stops and stares at the screen. Kate sits back as her own heart sinks into her stomach.

Osgood wakes up suddenly at the sound of the computer and stares up at the doctor in horror

13: why do you have 2 heartbeats?

Osgood is too stunned to speak, kate who's normally an impeccable speaker was also at a loss for words

13: kate... were you holding chest xrays when I came in?

Kate cant give an answer.

13: let me see them. Please.

Kate looks to osgood as if silently pleading for help. Osgood closes her eyes with a sigh and gives her a nod.

Kate slowly and hesitantly pulls out the xrays which 13 takes tentatively. Sure enough, the impossible was true.

Osgood had 2 hearts.

There was no mistaking it.

13: Osgood... why do you have 2 hearts?

The doctor couldnt describe her emotions in that moment even with a gun to her head. A sizable part of her was convinced this couldn't be real, this had to be a dream or something.

Osgood: ..... there's a lot you don't know about me....

13 remained silent, listening.

Osgood: I'm not actually a human. I'm... I'm a timelord...

13 didn't know what to say, there were thousands of questions and thoughts racing through her head. There was so much she wanted to say, so much to ask.

Osgood: to ease one of your worries first, no, I'm not a spy for rassilon. I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, I'm a rogue just like you.

Osgood gently grabbed 13's hand and made a telepathic link between them. She opened her mind to the doctor, allowing her to see Osgood was telling the truth.

13 looked off to the side, racking her brain as she struggled to decide which of her thousands of questions she should ask.

13: so everything I thought I knew about you was a lie?

Osgood: pretty much. I'm not affiliated with the master either, just to quell that suspicion right away.

13: who are you then?

Osgood: I'm me. I'm just another rogue time war refugee who simply wants to live. I have no motives, I have no giant history, i just want to live in peace...

13: does anyone else know? Besides kate?

Osgood: no. I've been living as a human for the past 15 years.

13: how did you get to earth? Do you have a tardis too?

Osgood: yes. A newer model too.

13 thought carefully for a moment.

13: why did you join unit?

Osgood: I wanted to help humanity. I love them just like you. Plus, dealing with alien technology is familiar and comforting to me, gives me something to do.

13 stood back.

I honestly figured he'd be too busy, but also figured it wouldn't hurt to at least ask, so I'm super glad he agreed to do it! 'Cause hey, look! 2D animated Cor! It's so fierce and nice to see. I say it in the video, but I'm saying it again, everyone needs to go and look at everything Matt does. He's genuinely so good at everything I've seen him do and his streams have some of the best vibes of a stream I've ever seen. Some of my friends know him as "the one person on twitch I'm subscribed to" because it's true. I honestly aspire to be that chill in my streams. He's one of those people I look at for inspiration, because where better to feel inspired than by talented people with some serious passion for their craft? So anyone who sees this post needs to go to his links, follow and subscribe and whatever, and throw whatever money you have to him! He deserves the best.

The 3D model isn't completely retired. Eventually I do plan on alternating between the two. But currently I am living, laughing, and loving being a pngtuber!

im getting really off-track here and am sorry to disturb from the main storyline but im very curious what fate ralsei holds in your universe because i think? this is one of the most unique endings i saw him getting? not that ive seen much besides all of the fountains closing or rals being a villain/someone from ut partially i just wanna know how he's doing. he seemed so disappointed when leaving

After the Big Battle with Gaster the knight returns (is anyone surprised? no) and posseses Lancer to help give an epilogue to the kids.

ANYWAY. Ralsie (at this point he's been reunited with the kids at the end of the battle. i DO have art for that but i'm just going to show the aftermath)

anyway with Tazetta being crowned princess and given a fresh new life, (again, details vauge cause it's a cute scene that works best with full context) she and ralsei are set up to be new siblings -a brother and a sister!

Kris and Susie got the chance to be proper heroes to defeat Gaster (saving Ralsie in the process) so everyone's on good terms -Susie feels redeemed for attacking Feylow and Knight-Kris (Knis???), Kris got a big Hero Moment and feels validated in their ability to choose their destiny, Ralsei gets to feel the prophecy wasn't a total lie, and he's been given a full chance to live his own life now without the Knight being a turd about it

anyway with the Knight

(AGAIN trying my best not to spoil the scene (fine with talking story beats but not in detail) so deal with being out of context as possible) the knight literally ends the fight by putting gaster in a time out and deciding to become a better person for the darkner's benefit.

yeah. jeeze. really wild how chapter 2 completely recontextualized things huh.

Also, since it's been a year :grimace emoji: i can saftely say the knight is WAY out of character and way to nice and "forgivable" in this dark world. back then I was thinking: "hm, maybe the Knight can be more redeemed and once in Darkworld, they could have a change of heart :)"

yeah thats. that's WAY off the table for Angel's Lullaby as it is now. the "will they or won't they redeem themself" is still on the table but its a WAY bigger fight to accomplish (or fail) than what was depicted here, sharing Kris' SOUL or not.

I think i was just toying with the idea of the Knight's redemption to foreshadow Asriel being flowey and not believing their SOUL was real. I felt this would help justify/foreshadow why Asriel was wrong ahead of time. or something. now i just think it hurts the story by having the knight involved, it undermines that story's intentional confusion if Asriel was right or not a ton!

yeah a big reason why the DW arc was Bad was because 1) outdated for both Angel's AND deltarune LMAO 2) bad in context of Asriel's arc 3) Feylow is kinda a big mess and overly ambitious of a writing metaphor for my skill level at the time 4) litearllyyyy hate the narrative i built for frisk and ralsei and i couldn't really salvage that x-x

The Means Reflect On The Ends Actually, (c!Dream & the conditioning of Exile)

What was the point of exile, storywise? What does it say about c!Dream? Sure, it’s showcasing how far he’s willing to go to achieve his own ends, but I don't think all discussion about what exile tells us about c!Dream should start and end there.

Dream is not cruel for cruelty’s sake. Dream’s end goal is not to hurt as many people as possible. He views his cruelty are “necessary evils”, and he doesn’t dwell much on whether the things he does are “good” or “bad”. He’s fully aware he’s hurting people and he ultimately thinks that hurting people, to the extent that he does, is worth it. That being said, while Dream has an ends justify the means mindset, but the truth is, the means absolutely reflect on the ends. His true intentions aren’t a mystery, it’s very clear in the text that his ultimate goal is unity, but why does he want unity? And what would said unity entail?

(Before this essay starts I have to do an ad break to promo @daggryet's very helpful [transcriptions from the exile streams], which I'll be using a lot of. Thanks for the very helpful resource.)

TW: Relatively extensive discussion abt the abuse in exile arc & the effects of said abuse.

Firstly, I don't think you should deny his relationship to control. A through-line of his character is achieving harmony through control, and more specifically, obedience. There’s a reason why he tends to single out Tommy the most. It’s not actually because Tommy is remarkably more troublesome than anyone else on the server, but rather, because his disruptive nature is at Dream’s expense. Tommy is the only character who’s consistently over and over again refused to respect Dream’s authority, and though he isn’t particularly threatening on his own, it’s the sentiment itself that’s dangerous. Similarly, this is why he has consistently targeted L’manburg, moreso than any other faction on the server such as, say, Badlands, El Rapids. It’s almost as if they represented the sentiment, “Hey, why are we listening to you anyway? Why can’t we be listening to anyone else?”, which is why he crushed them, over, and over again. What if everyone figures out they can just stop listening to him? What then?

We talk a lot about the effects exile had on Tommy, and rightfully so, but we don’t talk enough about what Dream was actually doing. What was the purpose of exile? Was it just a way to get closer to the discs? Just a means to an end? What was the end?

TOMMY: What, what could you possibly want more from me? You’ve tortured me.

DREAM: I’m just keeping an eye on you, Tommy.

TOMMY: What does that mean?!

DREAM: I’m just, I’m making sure that you’re not up to no good.

TOMMY: But, how, you’ve exiled me, you fucking stupid, manipulative fucking green bastard!

DREAM: I know! And you know why I did that?

TOMMY: Yes?

DREAM: No, you know why?

TOMMY: Why?

DREAM: Because you don’t listen to me ever, you’re the only person who doesn’t ever listen to me. If I tell you to do something, you’re like “no, fuck you!”, and you go and like do like the exact opposite.

As much as I have to preface this with that this is speculative and we may not have any irrefutable confirmation, I think it's very likely that it's literally just what Dream is saying he's doing. Tommy is the one person who refuses to listen to him, and he wants him to listen. Exile was not only conditioning Tommy to believe that nobody other than Dream cares about him, not only conditioning Tommy to be entirely reliant on him, but also conditioning Tommy to listen to him, without question, without disobeying. And that is such a significant and reoccurring motif for it to arguably just be the intended reading of exile.

Abuse is a vague term that encompasses a lot of abusive practices. There are a good handful that apply to exile, I'm sure if you ask someone qualified they'll be able to provide you a nice handy list, but ultimately, all of them target Tommy's own sense of agency and autonomy, and it all revolves around power and control. Dream creates rituals purely to disarm him, threatens him and punishes him when he doesn't listen, and rewards him when he complies (or rather, conditions Tommy into thinking that not being punished is a reward).

TOMMY: [begins throwing his armor and axe down for DREAM to explode.]

DREAM: No, no, it’s fine.

TOMMY: Re-really?

DREAM: Yeah. Today’s the party, right?

TOMMY: So when can I- no, I wanna go back. I… hey, thanks for letting me keep my armour today.

DREAM: You’re welcome.

TOMMY: Kinda nice of you.

Dream isn’t only hurting Tommy for the sake of hurting him. People tend to frame it as if Dream Just Hates Tommy, but that’s not true. He finds Tommy fun, in a twisted way. There are a lot of moments in exile where they’re both on very good terms and Dream is friendly with Tommy. But, it's also all part of horror of exile, making Tommy reliant on him and his company, getting him to doubt his sense of reality, making him question whether his friends back in L’manburg ever cared about him at all, and possibly questioning whether he’s imagining the abuse as well, Dream is so kind to him after all, why would he ever want to hurt him?

Over the course of exile Tommy agency and sense of self start to deteriorate as well as his mental health, he starts worrying about what Dream would think, starts asking Dream for permission, going out of his way to avoid upsetting him, his only friend, his only reliable caring companion.

TOMMY: Yeah, so I’m thinking we- and then I can- but the thing is; so recently my buddy, Dream, has been doing this thing where he, uhm… it makes sense, though, because I’m not in his land anymore, but he takes my shit from me, so I need to make sure- […]

TOMMY: I don’t know, he just- hey man, I just follow the boss.

Dream’s outburst in exile after finding Tommy’s chests, is arguably one of Dream's most emotionally honest (and reckless) moments in exile considering it was what made Tommy realize he needed to save himself and escape. And it's punishing Tommy for going behind his back and planning to revolt.

TOMMY: I’m really, no, I’m really sorry, though. Why don’t we just pretend this never- yeah, let’s, shall we just pretend this-?

DREAM: Sorry doesn’t cut it, Tommy. Listen, I’ll leave you here to think about what you did-

TOMMY: What about the nether? What about the nether, my friends, what-?

DREAM: No! You can’t go to the nether, no one can come here, you are alone, okay? As soon as I think that you have changed, have become somebody who isn’t going to hide and lie and try and revolt; then people can visit you again. You can go to the nether again. But for now - no, no one can. You- I was being very lenient. Yesterday I let you go into the Dream SMP on a temporary pass, and then what do I find out the next day?

TOMMY: I’m so sorry.

DREAM: I have been nothing but gracious to you. Tommy. Think about what you did.

Exile wasn’t only a means to getting closer to the discs or getting Tommy out of the way. Exile was a means to conditioning Tommy into listening and respecting Dream as his superior. Dreams solution to Tommy being disruptive and troublesome was to [physically beat], emotionally abuse, and psychologically condition him into obedience. Only seeing exile as a testament to how far how willing he was go to meet his ends is reductive, and not acknowledging what Dream considers to be a “problem” and what he considers to be “solutions” is to not engage with his worldview. You have to take exile into account and what it actually says about his ideals of harmony and unity.

Dream’s relationship to Tommy can (and honestly should) be compared to his relationship to the entire server at large. Not to imply that He Literally Wants To Abuse The Server, but rather the he views the server revolting as a problem, and the solution? Well. The [prison]. The hall of attachments. It’s no surprise that the disc war, a conflict that was initially only primarily between Dream and Tommy*, is suddenly about everyone. Bargaining and blackmailing using attachments, something Dream initially only subjected Tommy to, to keep him under his control, is now a means to control everyone.

Is Dream's goal of unity for the sake of the overall happiness and quality of life of the people living within said unity? I don’t doubt that this at some point in time was true. But, the fact that he’s willing to ruin lives and long-term psychologically destroy people over it, means that his goal isn’t unity for the sake of the people living in his ideal version of the server, but at their expense. Him believing he needs to control people to maintain unity and harmony means that he believes himself to know what's best for people moreso than the people themselves, and therefore he's the only one responsible enough to make decisions for them. And it also means that his motives has warped and twisted overtime, it’s likely that he’s become so fixated on the goal of unity itself that he’s lost track of why he wanted it in the first place.

Anyway. Stop buying into Dream's own self-justification of "ends justify the means" and put his deeply flawed and broken worldview and view of people under a little bit of goddam scrutiny.

Sinner: You kiddin'? Dyin' was the best thing that's ever happened to me.

Caecus: There’s nothing you left behind? No family to miss?

Sinner: My family? Fuck 'em, I'd ‘ave hired 'elp to kill 'em already if it meant they'd be dead-dead, and I wouldn't have to spend time wiv 'em down 'ere. It wouldn't be right for me to force this on my friends either, but they'll be 'ere in due time anyway. I can wait.

Caecus: So, you’re expecting your friends to join you here as well. The wait must be awfully lonely.

Sinner: Ah, not really. I’ve made friends while I’m ‘ere. The shit I can do ‘ere is like, fucking magic and with it I can make up for what I lack in a lot of different ways. Just wish I could remember how I ‘ad died.

Caecus: Maybe it’s better not to remember… Not all of us intended to be here, after all.

Sinner: No. No, perhaps it’s best not to remember. I quickly found out that it's not just evil folks that end up here, lots of good folks, plenty of weird ones too. I'm sensing you’re of the “gooder” ones, you radiate...well, it’s 'ard to describe, but I don't sense any hostility from you at the very least, even though you were born ‘ere.

Caecus: How amiable of you. But remember, a birth is just a new beginning of sorts. You couldn’t have been alone since you were… delivered to us.

Sinner: Ah, you’re a poetic type aren’t ya? Anyway, I’ve not made many friends but I do ‘ave a particular fondness for this one clown...me an' 'im seem to 'ave this weird connection wiv each other. Actually, he's more of a jester type, though rather embarrassingly his name escapes me...

Caecus: Are you, by chance, referring to an imp named Blocko?

Sinner: Yeah, don’t surprise me you know ‘im. He seems like the type to ‘ave a particular reputation.

Caecus: That he does, and yet a divine will connects us. I’m being led to believe your intriguing appearance has an even more… intriguing history.

Sinner: Riiiight...Well, you know what they say about skeletons and closets. Though I suppose I ‘ave nothing to hide ‘ere...Well, to put it simply, I was a broken kid. I never got help, and I did... unspeakable things to anyone who ‘ad wronged me—or simply didn't like.

Caecus: Even the purest of souls can be corrupted by another’s sins.

Sinner: Yeah...Well, it's not like I'll stop doin’ what I did while I was alive, with all that murder and hedonism. Though death has a way of humbling some people...In any case, the murders mostly stopped as I grew older. I seemed to have preferred to just traumatise people instead, ruin lives of the people I saw as bad or evil.

Caecus: Then you found a different punishment for those you had judged.

Sinner: I suppose so. A lot of it involved me spying on groups of people. I'd worm my way into the seedy societies that thought they were safe in their little circles and collect dirt on them. Really sick shit too by the way but don’t worry, the hypocrisy wasn’t lost on me either.

Caecus: Oh? You judged yourself a hypocrite yet continued along a path of self-appointed righteousness... Why?

Sinner: I don’t know, maybe a sense of catharsis? A lot of these were people who I wouldn’t have to feel guilty about killing or whatever. Sometimes it was more personal too, there were—still are people I am attached to up there that got hurt, and I took my revenge on them in their place.

Caecus: Ahh, how noble. Fighting for your friends.

Sinner: Yeah, there was this one particular bastard. Actually, there were a few…but…eh, nevermind…this one particular guy who was essentially lying to one of these “friends” and caused them a psychotic breakdown. I didn’t take action right away, but I did end up killing ‘im. Didn’t even bother hiding the fact it was a murder.

Caecus: What made you wait?

Sinner: Money, mostly. It makes the world up there spin, and you need a lot of it to get anything done, right? Well, I ‘ad to wait until I ‘ad enough money to fly to the states on top of all that shit involved in immigratin’. When I settled in, that’s when I made my move on a buncha grudges. This guy was just the first. Moving to the states made my life a lot easier in some ways. Was a lot easier to sleep when I took care of the grudges too.

Caecus: Oh, wow. You must have had remarkable resolve to keep a “grudge” that long… Tell me, did all of them truly deserve it?

Sinner: No, most didn’t, but I am…was, an angry person. I found I was very much capable of venting my anger, to put it mildly, and I was much too young when I had...shall we say...discovered it.

Caecus: Young minds are impressionable.

Sinner: Right, and the fact that I was generally good at getting away with it made me feel just that little bit better about it.

Caecus: So, you exploited that validation to continue justifying your actions. Most sinners in your position never reach awareness...

Sinner: Yeah? I’ll take that as a compliment, but I was totally emotionally disconnected when committing my crimes. Afterwards I pretty much always dealt with conflict. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch. Though I had largely stopped my ways. I’m ‘aving way too much fun down ‘ere, and even though I won’t drag ‘em down here with me, I’d love to have my friends join me eventually.

Caecus: Would they be pleased being here, embrace this existence like you have?

Sinner: I dunno, some of them have a hard enough time as it is with one existence, I doubt they’ll be too happy to find out there’s another waitin’ for ‘em. The others I’d imagine would be quite surprised all the same, being atheists and such, but I reckon they’d come to like it.

Caecus: An existence you cannot escape is itself a prison. Albeit, choosing to enjoy it in spite of that perspective is a marvelous thing. If you could imagine them in your presence, what would you do?

Sinner: Again, I dunno. It’s hard to tell when they’re not here yet but I am somewhat interested in what’ll end up happening should they get here. I dunno if I’ll be able to tell if it’s them even.

Caecus: And how do you dare to enjoy existence now?

Sinner: Well, I’ve been doing everything I’ve ever wanted to do but could never do in life amongst other things. It’s kinda embarrassing, but I played a bunch of video games, so I miss those quite a bit. I’ve found plenty of ways to fill that void though. Some of your movies are pretty sick down ‘ere, and importing goods from the other rings to ‘ere means I don’t miss out…mostly, on their fun too. I just wish I could explore the other rings; I don’t get why us sinners can’t.

Caecus: Decretum is often difficult to understand. However, it would seem a blessing that you’ve been placed with the multifarious company of the pride ring.

Sinner: True enough, whatever that means. There’s a lot of strip clubs, greedy businesses and shit, stuff you think you’d only find in the other rings. Though I think I probably would’ve ended up in wrath if we landed in the rings based on our sins.

Caecus: Most catechisms view wrath as an excessive anger. You strike me as having more control than the average sinner.

Sinner: A lot of people on the surface woulda said the same too, I was and I suppose still am really good at keeping it in check, well, good enough to not make it obvious anyway. Though it’s been a lot tougher down here.

Caecus: This is a realm of collective temptation, after all.

Sinner: My only judge here is myself and perhaps my peers if I let them. I still kill down here, but it’s been in self-defence. I don’t think I’ve killed anyone out of anger yet but let’s just say I’d feel sorry for the poor sod who happened to piss me off on a bad day.

Caecus: You’ve always been your own judge. I suspect the lack of good comparisons for your behavior here has coaxed you further.

Sinner: Actually, I could tell you about the first person I “killed” down here. It was soon after I woke up. I suppose this guy thought it’d be easy—fresh sinner, just in time to be another tally mark on some statistic.

Caecus: A second death, the lake of fire…

Sinner: Uh...yeah, I reacted on instinct and it musta been a sort of “kiss of death” type shit. I only touched the dude with my hand, and he just kinda…shrivelled up and died. You know…like when a cartoon character eats a lemo—ah sorry, you can’t watch TV.

Caecus: Ah, yes… a shrivelling death is nevertheless descriptive.

Sinner: Anyway, I have a bunch of other powers too but that one I’m most afraid of you know? I can drop the ambient temperature of an area so shit gets cold, have some form of telekinesis and a buncha other stuff, like I have some kinda control over this weird glowy energy, it’s how I have my eyes, which are purely for show, I don’t need them since I can see perfectly fine without ‘em...not that you’d know I even have ‘em.

Caecus: I’m aware you observe our world, in a traditional sense. My observations are just a bit more… unorthodox. And I feel as if your fear is not from a lack of understanding.

Sinner: Well I seem to have it under control, but I’m afraid in a moment of weakness I might react without thinking, you know? I’ve not had it happen yet, but it would be so easy when flippin’ out that I just give ‘em the ol’ touch of death.

Caecus: Even a king’s heart is just a stream of water to the hand of… fate.

Sinner: Gonna be honest, I haven’t the foggiest of what you just said. Though if I’m being honest myself, I couldn’t care less if it was someone I didn’t know anyway. Only really care about my friends and such. You seem pretty neat yourself.

Caecus: The impression is mutual. It’s not often that I’m seen as anything other than senseless and intimidating. I don’t find it unwarranted, granted; my appearance is as disconcerting as my psyche.

Sinner: How do you even know what you look like? It’s not like you can just look into a mirror.

Caecus: I was presented with a vision soon before I arrived, my last blessing I suppose… Regardless, my rebirth is a tale for another time. I’ve relished in your company long enough, and I must answer my calling. I’m sure our paths will converge again.

Sinner: Hey, I hope so too...uh....

Caecus: Please, call me Caecus.

Sinner: Well, it’s only polite to give you my name too. I go by many names here, but I am quite fond of “Mr. Death” as silly as it sounds.

Caecus: Silly, yes, but very becoming of you. A pleasure, Mr. Death.

Mr. Death:Well, don’t let me keep you. I’d like to see you again sometime, Caecus. I’ll take my leave.
