As I stand here in the winter forest in Aurora, Ontario, I am in awe of the beauty surrounding me. The sun is shining brightly, casting long shadows across the snow-covered ground. The trees are coated in a blanket of glistening snow, and the branches are adorned with delicate icicles that sparkle in the sun. The air is crisp and clean, and the silence is only interrupted by the occasional rustle of leaves as a gentle breeze passes through. The sunbeams filtering through the branches create a surreal and enchanting atmosphere as if I am standing in a magical wonderland. The warmth of the sun on my face contrasts beautifully with the coolness of the snow underfoot. It is as if nature has created a perfect balance between the elements. As I walk deeper into the forest, I am struck by the sense of peace and tranquillity surrounding me. The stillness of the winter landscape is calming, and at this moment, I am reminded of the beauty and wonder of nature, and I am grateful for the opportunity to experience it. I could have called this video Dynamic Contrast for the win!! The Dynamic Contrast filter in ON1 Photo RAW is the perfect choice to make water and waves pop. The filter itself does a great job adding detail, and the blending options make it very easy to shape the detail to just the whitewash.

The lens features a total of 4 XD Linear Focus Motors for incredibly fast focus performance and one of Sony’s most complex lens designs to date. A remarkable achievement from the Sony lens designers. Of particular note: Despite the wide aperture and extremely wide focal length, the lens itself is only very slightly longer than the 24-70mm f/2.8 GM, and several hundred grams lighter than some other extreme wide-angle lenses such as the Canon 11-24mm f/4 L. At the time of its launch in 2020, this lens was the widest f/2.8 zoom lens on the market from any manufacturer. The 12-24mm f/2.8 GM is Sony’s widest rectilinear G Master lens, tied for a wide field of view with the cheaper 12-24mm f/4 G lens. How many lenses does Sony release every year for its mirrorless system? The answer varies, but the chart below will give some historical context that is helpful.
