For boom revisited. Just how aware is Sonic (as in mentally) while he's roboticized?
I've answered this previously here, Redfire! To elaborate further for you, it's like he's experiencing an intense dream. He's vaguely aware of what's occurring and somewhat able to influence his actions (being clumsy). He knows the choices he's making in this "dream" aren't things he'd do consciously, but it's extremely difficult for him to decide to do something different. Especially with Eggman's influence over him.
Sonic' intelligence is suppressed and deferring to Eggman for instruction. His heart, however, fights strong.
#ask multi#sonic boom revisited#to add further#Sonic was 100% actually pissed at Knuckles#Amy was helping his subconscious apply logic to the situation#and then Knuckles runied it!

The Anti-Big Oof, Some May Even Say "The Small Foo"
Just played The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog today, a dumb, goofy little visual novel made for April Fool's Day a few months ago. It's really cute, it took me waaaay longer to get to it than I expected, I originally was going to read it the day it released, but uhhh i forgorđ but now that I have actually finally read it, it's so good and was definitely worth reading. It's not very long, and there's not a ton to it, but it was created by a team of really dedicated Sonic fans including a few of the writers for the IDW comics and it is so incredibly obvious, it is absolutely filled with obscure little references to the series as a whole that only weird obsessive freaks like me would ever even notice. The number of times I went "WAOWâš" was immeasurable, the Knuckles OVA hat, "Big Oof" (classic), I think they even indirectly referenced the fucking Shadow pissing on Eggman's wife video, not 100% sure on that tho, may just be reading into it too much, but in my headcanon they're 100% referencing Shadow pissing on Eggman's wife frfr. It's crazy how the writing teams for every Sonic related thing now, the games, the comics, even the social media is just made up of a bunch people that are just as obsessed with Sonic as even the most insane fans, like the last 10 years of Sonic media has pretty much just been a collection of officially licensed fan passion projects and I'm all for it. Like obviously there's been the typical corporate made stuff that was obviously just rushed out for money and had no love behind it too, just like any franchise, but like, I'm not here to talk about that, I don't want to talk about that, I'm here to talk about PURE, RAW, UNFILTERED PASSION AND HOW FUCKING COOL IT IS!!!
The Sonic community in general is just insane in how passionate they are, like what other community has multiple entire expos dedicated to fangames, that have been recognized by major members of the official Sonic development team? (If you can't tell I am very excited for SAGE and SHC, the next 2 months are gonna be so pog >:)).
It's so exceptionally fun experiencing any kind of work in general that's so clearly made with a ton of passion put into it. Like art that you can just sense the passion oozing out of has got to be like, peak art, always, no matter the actual thing itself, if it's been made with a ton of love, it's peak, no question. It's why there's a lot of specific artists and communities that I just resonate with so hard, like when an artist or community just loves what they make, that's just like, so cool this is my excuse to mention Trigger/Gainax I love Trinax I love it when they have to make the final episode of an anime black and white and at 2fps not only for stylistic reasons but because they just HAD to put their entire budget into the 2 minute big robot scene like how could they resist and I mean this entirely unironically I fucking LOVE that they know exactly where their talents and passions lie and are willing to put everything into what they want to make at the expense of other parts that they don't want to make. Remember when in Promare Galo starts ranting about like ancient firefighters or some shit in the middle of a fight and it was basically just a stand-in for the writers wanting to rant about ancient firefighters or some shit? yea, that was cool. Remember when in Promare they kis-
Also I don't know where to put this but I want to say it because I thought of it, but references aren't just cool because you get the reference they're making, references are cool because they can show a clear love of the thing they're referencing, and that's why Sonic is cool ok bye :)
The fact that this game is the 2nd time they've referenced the Peter Griffin death pose in official Sonic media is honestly very concerning.

Wait, you would be upset if it doesn't turn out Knuckles is the last echdna? I get that's different from canon, but so is Movie!Sonic in a lot of ways.
yeah maybe a little pissed LMFAO đ it depends how theyâd go about it but honestly with the proposed ideas of those fake leaks, combined with how them actually showing up in this movie for more than two seconds with speaking roles would be STRANGLING that budget of theirs...you gotta be honest, it sounds like theyâd be creating the most unnecessary changes and problems for themselves that would create a worse product and story anyway. I think if that were to happen, it would be WAY different from those fabricated concepts and honestly probably still really strong?? My belief is theyâd find some sort of compromise. Maybe other echidna are out there, but for whatever reason they arenât really in contact with Knuckles, and are still otherwise just a concept that exists. I donât really want them to stay relevant in any present story, honestly. Flesh em out through flashbacks n whatever but otherwise theyâre overstaying their visit and them interacting directly with Knuckles COMPLETELY takes away from the fact that he is supposed to be an unsocialized loner, the exact traits that lead him to falling for Robotnikâs tricks.
But, itâs honestly hard to talk about that hypothetical situation, since...I believe we are getting a really source-material faithful Knuckles with 100 percent certainty by this point. Jeff Fowler, amongst others, has made their vision clear for what they want to do with the character, and Iâm pretty sure it would be impossible to carry that out and not have him being the last of his kind at the VERY forefront of your mind when getting started with the conceptualization process.
And yes, Iâm aware Movie! Sonic is very different, but like...did Sonic really have that fleshed out of a main backstory or character anyway upon his debut? All that was needed was to go from Point A to Point B, creating an origin story for this Sonic and Robotnik. Itâs the fact that in order to give Sonic a more multi-faceted personality with big emotional motivations FOR that backstory and journey...they had to dig a little deeper for how to do that. Knuckles has a lot more canon history and backstory behind him, from his late tribe to his connection to the Master Emerald, even including how he befriended Sonic. They wouldnât need to do as much ground-up work for him if they knew they already had some solid and iconic material to work with for him, itâs practical. Why change a character backstory and motivation thatâs already is so easy to carry out and sympathize with?
Thatâs not to say I want Knuckles to be COMPLETELY 100% accurate and unchanged from his 90s self, though, which I donât think I express enough :O
If the clan is gone, would Knuckles know more about them and how that went down? It appears he wasnât in the vicinity of this movieâs Master Emerald altar when he encountered Robotnik, so where was he? Whatâs his association with the Master Emerald? If itâs guarded and hidden away, and he knows how to access it, what has he been doing otherwise? If he doesnât need Sonicâs power, but itâs his destiny to destroy him, what does that say about why heâs taking on Sonic? Does he know about his tribeâs actions, such as killing Longclaw or going after Sonic? What does he think of them? Is Angel Island a thing in this universe? What planet, island, or location would he live on otherwise? The same island Sonic grew up on? Will he be able to glide? Cause god I hope not Iâd rather it be retconned if they canât make it look good why even bother HAHA đ and then of course you have his charged-up electric-y powers too!
Movie!Knuckles already poses so many questions and new concepts that I welcome with open arms! Heck, thereâs some things I could understand maybe not having the time or reason to address (like his gliding...maybe his whole thing with setting off traps n stuff in S3&K too? could be maybe touched on when in the labyrinth ruins but otherwise heâs literally on an unfamiliar location for majority of the film lol), and Iâm totally okay with that! For the sake of this movie universe being its own separate thing from all other Sonic media, I genuinely love all the changes brought to the interpretations of these stories through the lense of the new rules, logic, and lore put into place (without it we wouldnât be getting Sonic/Knuckles warrior family drama which IS SO COOL). I just have enough faith to know that those who work on this know the grounds theyâre traversing in terms of which pre-established concepts they can switch up and which they can alter slightly to fit this new world, but not so much that it throws non-fans AND super fans for a loop.
None of this made sense probably and was more needlessly complicated than necessary, but TLDR: I donât know anyone whoâd want Knucklesâ backstory to be changed to what the reddit posts entailed?? honestly if they hit anything but That Stuff i will not complain whatsoever đ
#vics silly brain zone#sonic movie spoilers#sonic movie 2 spoilers#sonic 2 spoilers#edit: untagging this from the main tags so people donât get scared or off guard anymore#there shouldnât be any actual spoilers here at all#but Iâm doing so for the sake of respecting those who donât want to see anything in the slightest relating to this topic#also I donât want anyone to look it up

How about 3 through 8 for the video game asks?
Oooh these are all excellent ones.
3~ "Best game you've ever played"
Starting off with a very hard one to answer lol, but I think the best game(s) Ive ever played is a tie between "Prey" and "Red Dead Redemption 2". Both games Ive gone back to countless times and Im always finding something new and different when I play.
In Prey, I love, love, love the enviromental storytelling and how many different way you can solve the games mysteries and puzzles. It allows me to actually pick skills I want for that playthrough, and still be able to finish the game my way.
Rdr2, theres just so many little details and things that blow me away everytime I load into the game. Foreshadowing I might have missed earlier, realistic animals gorgeous thunderstorms ahhhh.
Both games also have excellent stories imo. Multiple points where I was sitting in my chair open mouthed and/or crying. So damn good. I love games where I have choices, even if the choices are small.
4~ "worst game you've ever played?"
For this one, I had to think a bit. I decided to pick a game that was the worst for me, personally; even though technically speaking its fine. Its also random as all heck hahahaha. Anyway that award goes to "Nancy Drew: Trail of the Twister"
I grew up playing the Nancy Drew cd rom games and that one just pissed me right off. The puzzles suuuuuck, especially for Nancy Drew (theres only a couple ND games with WORSE puzzles) but having to do the same puzzle like 4 times with no way to speed it up and having to watch the same aninations forever just threw any chance of me liking the game right out the window.
Also hated the storyline a bit more than other ND games and Ive played them all. Ive seen hokey storylines and obvious plot twists but this specific one was just.... bad.
5~ "Popular game series you just can't get into"
Theres a lot XD. I think the biggest is games like Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Theres just so much lore and so many games that while I respect the people who can get into all of it and actually know whats happening in those games; I will never actually play them myself.
I have watched a playthrough of the original Kingdom Hearts but thats about it.
6~ "Game that Changed You the Most"
I would say that the game that changed me the most was "Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games 2009" for the DS. It was my true 1st Sonic game. (I vividly remember my mom getting it for me because we'd been playing so many Mario games)
I immediately fell in love with the Sonic characters, Knuckles and Shadow being the og characters I ended up really liking and using for most of the events in the game. It was after I finished the game and was trying to 100% that I started really getting into Sonic as a series. The game has these collectables called "whitestones" that were scattered EVERYWHERE in the game. To find them, you button mashed near where you though there would be one and BAM another whitestone.
One of the characters you turn the whitestones into was Espio. And I was like; huh. This guy is cool. I should look him up. And that led to me finding and watching SonicX. Which led to me playing more Sonic games. Which led to me reading the comics. And the rest is history.
The Chaotix quickly overtook Knuckles and Shadow as my favorites (I still really like them) and eventually led to me making this specific blog! Being a sonic fan has been a huge part of my life for many, many reasons :)
7~ "Game you'll never forget"
"Sonic Heroes"! It will always be the most nostalgic and my favorite Sonic game. My brother and I split which teams we would play as and we would work together to complete the game. I got Team Dark and Team Chaotix and I absolutely loved playing both storylines so, so much. There was so many hours spent raging over the Rail Canyon level, and countless tries for the bonus levels and Chaos Emeralds. I put my blood, sweat and tears into that game and I loved every second of it.
8~ "Best Soundtrack"
Oooh theres so many I like ;-;. Skyrim's soundtrack is memorable and absolutely awesome. Stardew Valley has some of the best vibing music for a game. Sonic and the Balck Knight and Sonic Rush have some of my favorite Sonic songs. Rdr2 has a banger playlist of songs that cut DEEP. I could even cheat and say I like Miku rythm games and add a bunch of vocaloids to the list hahaha.
God I literally can't choose auuugh. Music is such a personal thing to me and I love video game music with a passion. Theres just too many to pick just one game jdhshdjfkfisysn
#thank you so much for the ask!#SoulOnFire13#I had a lot of tun answering these#Sorry for the length though!#hahaha#Hope its not too rambly

77. Sonic the Hedgehog #49
Previous / Table of Contents / Next
Escape from the Floating Island
Writers: Mike Gallagher and Ken Penders Pencils: Sam Maxwell Colors: Karl Bollers
After another recap intro page, we're thrust right back into the action from last issue's literal cliffhanger. Sonic finds himself plunging down a terrifying drop with certain death at the bottom. He's too exhausted from all the chaos to try his figure eight move to hover, so instead, he decides on potentially the most ridiculous and disgusting option possible to save his skin instead.
This madlad grabs the stink lines and dirt from his own horrifically disgusting socks, throws it in an arc, and races along it like it's solid ground to reach actual solid ground. I cannot even begin to fathom how something like that works, but hey, it works, and Sonic is able to run for it away from Geoffrey and his troops, who are forced to take the long route back through the caverns to follow him, though they still have the advantage of the tracking device implanted in his shackles.
Back at Knothole, everyone learns how Robotnik was able to carry out his plan. The miraculously-revived king was no more than a robotic duplicate.
The real king, still crystallized, is currently within his base, where we see another familiar face - Dr. Quack, handing over Sally's death certificate (which actually lists Sally's full name as "Sally Elisha Acorn," though her middle name's spelling was later retconned as we'll see) to Snively and demanding that Snively "fulfill his end of the bargain." Wait, what? Snively merely opens a wall panel, to reveal Dr. Quack's wife and children, imprisoned behind bars. When Dr. Quack reacts in outrage and anger, Snively blasts him with some kind of energy beam as motivation to behave.
Wait⊠falsified? So Princess Sally isn't actually
Yeah, here's the thing. I was playing along with the narrative before, but I'm sure anyone reading this without having read the comics beforehand was saying to themselves "Of course she's not actually dead, she's one of the comics' main characters! They wouldn't just kill off a main character in such a sudden, ignoble manner!" But that's where you, my good friend, are wrong as hell! See, this scene marks a hard right turn that Kenders was basically forced to make by (from what I've heard) Sega themselves. At about this point in the comic, he'd gotten it into his weird little Penders-y head that no one really cared about Sally anyway, that she was an unpopular character who "cramped Sonic's style" as the cool guy he was always meant to be, and decided to kill her off for real. As in, her "death" in the first issue of Endgame was actually meant to be 100% serious, with Sally gone forever. Of course, this immediately resulted in a huge outcry from devastated fans who loved Sally and didn't want to see her suddenly killed off, and so Penders had to rewrite the next three issues to make sure she could be brought back. But shh! You didn't hear that from me! We're still pretending to be shocked that she's not actually dead, okay?
Meanwhile in the wilderness, Sonic is trudging his way along, exhausted and desperate for help. Suddenly, he remembers that by doing a certain whistle he can call Dulcy to him, and she arrives, eager to help. She also says something⊠very interesting.
So dragons can sense truth, huh? *takes deep breath* WHEN WAS THIS ESTABLISHED?! I get that in this case King Acorn was going to sentence Sonic to prison anyway given that he was just a puppet of Robotnik's, so her testimony might not have mattered anyway, but damn, dude! Where was Dulcy when Sonic was accused of treason back in StH#40? Where was she when literally anyone was saying something suspicious or seemingly impossible? Dulcy alone could have solved like half the plots of this comic series by herself! Sigh. Kenders, you really need to learn to stop including random facts like this out of the blue when you've written yourself into a corner. A real writer doesn't solve plot holes through a deus-ex-machina, they cry and eat Denny's at 3am while their plots fall apart! No I'm not speaking from experience! Why do you ask?
Well, back at Hershey's place, Drago's only being more and more of a douche. Hershey has only just heard the news about Sally's death, and is horrified when Drago gleefully reveals that she's the one who did it! But how?
Yeah, turns out she was convinced by him to wear a Sonic costume, somehow, and the eyepieces made everyone look like Snively. She thought she was helping the Freedom Fighters by killing Snively, but was the one who dropped Sally all along. She's devastated, and left to sob on the ground as Drago happily celebrates his own genius in trusting Robotnik for personal power, because that's never backfired in anyone else's face before, has it?
Now we finally get to see what happened to Antoine and Bunnie after they were captured last issue. They've been hauled all the way to a prison in Downunda, and shackled to the wall, fitted with customized collars. Bunnie's is merely tuned to sense when she uses her bionic parts' capabilities to try to escape, while Antoine's is tuned to explode violently if Bunnie's collar gives the signal. Ouch, man.
They soon find that Walt Wallabee and Barby Koala are locked in with them, looking rather the worse for wear. Before they can get further than basic introductions (remember, only Tails has met these guys before), who shows up to greet everyone but Crocbot! Apparently, he didn't actually die when his tank exploded back in the Tails miniseries. He was badly damaged, but built himself back up from combot parts and has taken control of this region once again, running this slave labor camp to mine ore for Robotnik. He was pissed at his past defeat, and so made it a point to capture the Downunda Freedom Fighters the first chance he could. Yeah, capture, not kill. 'Cause remember how this guy has a hard-on for cold-blooded torture?
Who knows how long those poor Downunda Freedom Fighters have been locked up in here, man. At least they're still alive, right?
While all this has been going down, Dulcy has been flying Sonic to his requested destination - the Floating Island, where he hopes to get help from the only neutral third party he really has left. Unfortunately, he seems to have forgotten that whenever he and Knuckles appear in the same issue together, it's a hard rule that they have to start punching each other for no reason.
This time, however, they're barely able to start their shenanigans up when they're interrupted by Geoffrey and his troops parachuting in to recapture their quarry. Oh boy, more drama! Guess weâll see where it all goes in the big landmark issue #50âŠ

you know it really is kind of hypocritical for you to talk about how much you hate chris-chan for talking about making merchandise of his bad fancharacters when you're selling an eggman bodysuit in violation of copyright and trademark law. you likely won't get into trouble, but it's still illegal to do that.
Good thing Sega, and just about practically every other copyright holder in general, for most of the part donât give a shit if people make or sell off cosplays of their copyright or trademarked characters, and hereâs why:This Eggman cosplay was not something that was mass produced. It was something that I made for myself, personally, and as a one-time thing. Thatâs one of the big differences between the average cosplayer doing a one time, custom made commission, or selling off their retired cosplay, to the average Chinese bootlegger pumping out mass produced cosplay or mascot costumes from their factory to Ebay. This is why if youâve ever went to an artist alley at an anime or comic convention, or had a table at an artist alley at them, youâll notice how theyâre allowed to sell only so many prints of their art involving copyrighted characters, and how theyâre only allowed to use their own work in general and absolutely no copyrighted or trademarked material; as in, no official stock-art or logos that companies use to promote their series or franchise, and no tracing from official sources or other fan artists too. Hell, this is why artists in general are able to take drawing commissions involving copyrighted characters like Sonic, Mario, etc. Theyâre done as one-time things, and again, not something that was made to be mass produced. This is mostly because things like fan art and cosplay in general, for most of the part, tend to fall under fair use, due to those two things being transformative enough of the original thing in some way, especially if itâs parody.(But even then it can still tend to fall under a grey area to some extent.)Hell, do you have any idea just how many people have a career in cosplay, cosplay modeling, or even cosplay photography, nowadays? Do you know just how many sites or groups there are online that are just dedicated to people selling off their second hand cosplays or cosplay items in general, that Iâve yet to see be shut down due to receiving any Cease & Desist orders? Even Disney cosplay in general seems to, for most of the part, come out unscathed from the copyright or trademark ban hammer, and Disney is notorious for being protective of their copyright and trademark.Another reason why practically most copyright holders in general, like Sega, do not really care if people make and sell off one-time made cosplay of their characters is because theyâre most likely not even in the market for costuming in general, anyway. So they donât really even have anything to worry about in terms of others cutting into their profits or source of income. And even if it really is illegal, or infringing on their copyright to some degree, guess what? Sega, and most other companies out there, do not care enough to go out of their way to send cosplayers or fan works Cease & Desist orders.(Unless itâs Nintendo or Archie.) Not only do they realize that it would be a waste of time trying to find and take down every single thing that could be infringing on their copyright or trademark, but it would also make them look like bullies by going after small fans who canât even afford to legally defend themselves.(If you havenât forgotten, this joke of a legal system is more reliant on how much money you have to shelve out.)Especially in Segaâs case, at least involving the Sonic franchise: They realize they cannot afford to further piss off the fans of their Sonic franchise by sending out Cease & Desist orders to just fan projects in general, making money off of their intellectual property to some degree or not. I guarantee that if it wasnât for the fandom mostly being the wild west, in terms of what they can do with the characters and properties surrounding it, that the Sonic franchise would not have lasted as long as it has to this day, as it is what has helped kept the Sonic franchise to be still relevant enough to this day. Hell, if anything, Sega seems to embrace it, âcopyright infringementâ and all!Let me guess, you also defend Nintendo whenever they go and shutdown fan games, ROM hacks, or even Rule 34, that arenât even making any money off their characters or intellectual property, because, âB-But theyâre just protecting their trademark!â. Which, to me, doing that sort of shit to your fans is on the same level as taking a crayon drawing someone made for you out of pure admiration or love, only to crumble it and burn it because youâre afraid that it somehow might make your drawings look bad in comparison. And as for Chris-Chan. Again, he wanted to make a full-on, mass produced, franchise involving Sonichu which, again, thereâs a fairly big difference between that and some fans just selling off retired one-time made cosplays that were made on the side as a hobby or doing custom drawing commissions. Not like Chris-Chan just wanted to make money off of some plushes or figures, either. Chris-Chan wanted to full out make and mass produce games involving Sonichu- video games being an industry that both Sega and Nintendo are actually in. Itâs further rubs people the wrong way when Chris-Chan also goes and claims that Sonichu is their completely %100 original creation, and how Chris-Chan seems to want to hold some copyright or trademark over Sonichu, instead of just admitting that itâs a fusion between Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu. I donât see this as any different as Ken Penders deliberately trying to ride off of the coattails of Sonic with his, Lara-Su Chronicles, bullshit, yet he acts like his obvious Knuckles knock-off âEchyd'nyaâ are totally his very own %100 original creations. But sure, whatever. I totally just have some searing, blind hatred for Chris-Chan, and not just think that the person is goofy but mostly harmless(unless youâre a GameStop employee or Michael Snyder). And besides all of that, I think the Copyright laws out here- in the US- are a joke in general, anyway. There is so much grey and vague areas in them, to where itâs pretty easy for just about anyone with the money on hand to go and abuse it, if one wanted to.

57. Sonic the Hedgehog #39
Previous / Table of Contents / Next
Rage Against the Machine
Writer: Mike Gallagher Pencils: Pat Spaziante Colors: Barry Grossman
Surprisingly for being written by Michael, this issue is pretty intense! Sonic is pissed, because he wants to try the same stunt Sally pulled back in StH#29, apparently forgetting how badly that plan failed last time. The other Freedom Fighters unanimously overrule him, and Sonic irritably stalks out. Antoine is suspicious that he may go and try the stunt on his own regardless of orders, but Sally reminds him of Sonic's loyalty to the group. Anyway, Sonic proceeds to head to the weight room and immediately get knocked out by a familiar face!
That's right, Nack the Weasel, who has been apparently lounging around in the Knothole Jailhouse ever since his first appearance in the Sonic Triple Trouble special, has finally made his reappearance! He's decided to finish his old job of hauling a captured Sonic back to Robotnik - better late than never, as he puts it - and is promptly paid back by Robotnik's neverending generosity. Which is to say, he's thrown out of the building with his payment: being allowed to keep his life. Classy, Robotnik! You're just ensuring that no independent parties will ever want to work for you again.
Anyway, this is the part where Sonic wakes up and starts giving some sassback to his arch-enemy, right? This is where Robotnik sits and monologues long enough for a rescue to commence, or for Sonic to pull some trick out of his ass and escape? Robotnik isn't⊠he isn't just throwing him in the roboticizer without a grand speech, is he? He's actually being smart for once?
Sonic wakes up in time to scream.
It's actually pretty intense. Sonic essentially got whacked on the head in Knothole, and when he woke up he was already halfway through the (presumably painful, judging from his facial expressions) roboticization process. Ouch, man.
Anyway, by now I guess they've remembered that the robotic version of Sonic depicted before is actually supposed to be called Metal Sonic, so now we're seeing the actual Mecha Sonic here in the flesh - or, uh, in the mechanical parts? Robotnik is quite the fan of psychological warfare, and since Mecha Sonic already knows where Knothole is located, he heads out to destroy it on his new master's command. The Freedom Fighters start scrambling to defend themselves as Mecha Sonic begins firing lasers at them, and are quite angry since, by all appearances, Sonic disobeyed direct orders, as none of them know that he was captured and roboticized against his will.
Sonic isn't the spearhead of the resistance for nothing, and turns out to be extremely resilient and hard to even properly battle, let alone defeat. It appears that Sally had a plan in place for exactly this scenario, as she starts calling out code phrases, first creating holographic duplicates to confuse Mecha Sonic, and then calling in Bunnie to fight him, as she's the toughest of the bunch left.
While Bunnie and Mecha Sonic do battle, Sally calls into the Knothole control center, giving Tails coded orders to execute. Tails is quite happy to be of real assistance, but of course, Sally can't let him off without making sure his confidence is dashed!
Like, seriously Sally? In the middle of an emergency, you're gonna give him childish hygiene instructions? That was 100% just a way for her to assert her dominance while he was feeling good about himself. Not cool, Sal Gal.
As a side note, Bunnie makes some⊠really weird remarks during this issue. Stuff that references the American Civil War, and essentially paints a really uncomfortable picture of her and her "Uncle Beauregard" as supporters of the Confederate side. Like, I really don't know why they decided to include these little "jokes," other than that she has a southern accent. Not only is this series so far removed from the Civil War as to be laughable to make references to it, but like, did Michael forget that the Confederate side was fighting over their right to keep slaves, and Bunnie and the rest of the Freedom Fighters are explicitly fighting against a form of slavery? It's just⊠really, really uncomfortable and weird.
Anyway, Mecha Sonic's powers, enhanced with the help of a remote power booster on Robotnik's end, prove to be too much for Bunnie, and she finally goes down.
Luckily, turns out one of Sally's coded instructions to Tails was to call in none other than Knuckles, who glides in and starts battling Mecha Sonic midair. While he's able to hold his own for a little while, soon he succumbs to Mecha Sonic's powerful abilities as well, crashing down next to Bunnie.
With no other options, Sally announces that they'll be commencing "Operation Last ResortâŠ" which we will see in action next issue! Dun dun dun!
