I've been too scared to say it, but yes I agree. I'm of the opinion that you can't keep on using the "first gacha game from a small dev team" excuse after a certain point, because this just reeks of very predatory pricing strategies with little to no regards for a positive gameplay experience. I keep on telling others interested in WHB if they're interested in tower defense gameplay and not the charas/plot of WHB in particular, then just play Arknights (which, news flash, has the angel/Sankta Executor the Ex Foedere releasing in 5 hours!) or Path to Nowhere. It's that bad, and I can't recommend WHB in good faith knowing what already happened in the game. Especially when I see so many questionable decisions in the tower defense portion that is just a huge turn-off for me to keep playing.

Paywalling units in a gacha, especially units that are meta-defining, will always leave a sour taste in my mouth. I don't particularly enjoy the Resplendent Hero mechanic for Fire Emblem Heroes, but I grit my teeth and accept it nonetheless because they're buffs for older units that don't exactly break the game in half despite being paid (if you want a game-breaking set of units look no further than the current Christmas banner with Duo Byleth, Dimitri, Edelgard, and Yunaka). The only reason why I'd consider buying Resplendent Takumi is because Takumi is my fave Fire Emblem character, that's it.

And I absolutely HATE to bring this up again but Limbus Company, despite being the first gacha game from a dev team with roughly the same size as WHB (in fact I wager Limbus has less staff working on the game, since around half of their 30-ish staff members work at their merch café), did a ton of research on gachas and their gameplay. The end result is an amazing game that, despite its buggy release, was loved because of the amazing world and characters, intuitive gameplay which is basically a more streamlined and remixed Library of Ruina (their previous game), and general generosity. Which unfortunately all came crashing down after the Vellmori debacle back in July.

But yeah, that's my own two cents. I want to love this game, I really do. But at this point I've already considered dropping the game multple times, and the dev team's decisions just aren't helping their case.

I've seen a lot of people at the beginning saying "don't be so mean, it's their first gacha game"... Sorry? Not even obey me is so unfair! I truly love this game & the characters & most of the fandom, if I didn't want Lucifer so badly then I'd just quit & now I'm afraid that he's gonna be behind a paywall.

Like, they didn't even look at how other gachas work? Cuz that's the first thing you do when it's your first time doing X type of game.

I understand that you want money, but the prices of the Solomon seals are waaaaay too much (almost 10€ for ONE) & the f2p are stuck without a single chance to get the angels! At least give us a 10 pull goddamnit. Or don't even put them in the CHANCE UP gacha cuz it's not even chance up, it's only chance.

Also, nightmare coins... What are they actually for? They only unlock one tier & not even the reward.

In 2 days they did everything to destroy a really good game & to make their own fandom not even want to get close to it... Which is sad cuz I've been there since their insta started promoting it

My Hero PSLE: Episode 15 "We are so not stronger together"

So like Xiao Ming and gang managed to get into the little hollow part of the cave containing the Lesser Key of Solomon.

And then when they got in- of courrrrseeee there needs to be another puzzle.

Actually this time it's not even a puzzle sia. It's just three pathways into three different separate caves.

Oh no. That means they need to split up to search for the real entrance.

But hellll nawwww they weren't doing that. Just use their powers to find out which one it is lah. So Zhi Hua summoned a spirit to go and find which one it is.

And would you know the spirit left footprints behind.

So anyway the third spirit came back and said that was the entrance.

And so they went in.

So like they were now in a completely square room with the walls painted white Lesser Key of Solomon on a podium in the middle of the room.

Awww helllll nawwww. Too easy to be true. Confirm got trap one.

So they throw a rock at it. And then some lightning struck the rock when it was thrown from the ceiling and the rock broke into a legit million pieces.

Uh oh. So cannot even levitate over it sia. But they donwanna risk using abilities to bring the Lesser Key of Solomon over.

So. They have to read these words that randomly appeared on the wall and solve the puzzle.

"Without using an ability, drop a liquid that is not water into the pool below. The liquid must be at least 60% complete water and must be a symbol of something that water represents in common literature,"

And then a pool appeared next to them. So like being the big brain everyone was, Xiao Ming just took a knife and cut his hand so that his blood would drop into the pool.

And then it worked- the key just came floating over to them. But then just as they grabbed the key they realised something: Wait. Where are Mr Lim and Mrs Cranberry?

And then the villain xiaozarbors banged down the door. Oh shit they have Mrs Cranberry and Mr Lim kidnapped with them.

And then the Grandmaster snapped his fingers and they were all brought back to the school.

"Oh and btw, sorry for causing confusion, but-" He said, then proceeded to bring out a bag that kept moving and open it, revealing what was inside: The Grandmaster.

Nani? Xiao Ming looked at the bag. Then he looked up at the "Grandmaster". He already shapeshift back into his original form- Mr Lee.

DRAMA REVIEW | All Of Us Are Dead

The premise of All of Us Are Dead is simple: a group students try their best to stay alive while being trapped in their school through a zombie apocalypse. When I first heard about this drama and saw the talent attached to the project, I thought this was a promising story.

After watching it, I feel mostly lukewarm about it. Sadly, most of the developments that don't sit well with me are major spoilers, so I won't be sharing it. Instead, I will be talking about what I liked about it and what didn't quite reach the potential it had.

What I like the most was that I got to watch the story from several perspectives, from desperate teen survivor, detective and the framed science teacher, to military and political government. The different points of view on what to do in this situation was very interesting.

The first half of the drama was very compelling. Its rhythm fast paced and adrenaline infused but also took its time to develop characters and their inner and outer demons. In the final six episodes the story shifts and the drama suffers from it a little.

The acting is a mixed bag. The adult performers do a solid job but it's the young talent where it flattered. I personally think what is really attracting people to watch this drama, more than the story, is the charming new actors and actresses. Particularly Park Solomon, whom I admit is a find and probably the next big thing. I can see a little of Go Soo in him and that should tell you everything you need to know. Lee Eun-saem and Ha Seung-ri are another two really strong performances. But the most impactful presence is Lee Yoo Mi who demonstrates the meaning of the word range.

The zombie action is top notch, no surprise coming from a korean production. It is gory and blood thirsty. Their origin story, however, it's one of the things that just don't sit well with me.

The school violence, bullying and sexual abuse display in this drama is far more disturbing than the actual zombies. I am sure this was the intention, so we as an audience can understand and empathize with the logic behind the creation of the zombies. The adult solution to the problem is anarchy and destruction. From this situation, a group of kids is left to figure out what's morally correct, ethical behavior, justice, the importance of kindness, and so on. Lord of the Flies: Zombie Edition.

This is the point where I am left wondering if this is what of All Of Us Are Dead is actually about. Is this a gore fest showing me the worst a human can do? People so detached to what others feel, so already dead inside, that everything they do is worse than what a zombie does? Is this a brutal bullying survivor story? But then why none of the main characters were part of the bullied? Or someone who stood up to the bullies before the zombie apocalypse? Or part of the bullying storyline at all?

As I mentioned before, I found the conclusion of this series lukewarm, up in the air, as I am sure it was the intention since Netflix or the powers at the studio who produced this drama are probably wishing for a second season. Or more.

Overall, if you like zombies stories, you might as well give it chance.

So the team set off for Bukit Timah. When they got there, Mr Lim said that they have to find an entrance to some secret pathway that will lead them to the item.

But luckily Zhi Hua big brain and just use his ability to find the entrance. So like they found the entrance.

But it was like very grand leh. Got this Aztec vibe with the stone statues and man-made waterfalls sia.

Buuuuuuuutttttttt then of courssseeee, the entrance is locked and they have to solve a puzzle to open it.

It was written on a table with some gold bars stacked next to it.

The puzzle:

Without using an ability, (uh oh, they know of Turbidus' existence!) or adding any of your own gold to it, double the gold placed on this table.

Nani. How can one. And then Xiao An just big brain and said, "Wait I know this one. Last time I used to pretend I have a lot of money, I just sit in front of the mirror and hold my money EVERYONE GO GET A MIRROR SOMEHOW!"

Oh wait. People don't just carry mirrors with them randomly man.

But wait. There are waterfalls, right? Aiya just use the water to reflect the gold lah!

So Xiao Ming went to go scoop some water in his hands from the waterfall and bring it to the table.

Then he pour it on the table and position the bars so that it will reflect.

Then yay! They open the door liao!

So they went in.

"EH BOSS! SOMEO-XIAO MING AND GANG STEAL ALL OUR ITEMS LEH!" Oh no, Mr Aati found out liao.

"SIGINA! IS IT BECAUSE YOU IDIOTS KEEP LEAVING THE PASSWORD EVERYWHERE WHEN YOU WRITE IT DOWN?" Yeah, most likely, ya know.

"Boss, we should hurry and catch up with them, they confirm go to Bukit Timah now to get the Lesser Key of Solomon liao, if we catch them, we can still get everything," Mr Afan suggested.

Wait-Mr Afan is the one with the ability to make everyone listen to him, right? Yeah just checking.

Also apparently the Grandmaster has his own board of directors which only consists of Mr Aati and Mr Afan, since everyone else is a zero-iq idiot anyway.

"YEAH IF WE GO AFTER THEM NOW, WE CAN GET EVERYTHING BACK!"

"Woohoo!"

"Yeah Boss! Get your items back!"
