you were never much of a talker to begin with. of course, you envied the girls that could shamelessly socialize with anyone they pleased, but you clearly weren’t wired that way. every time you tried to approach someone, you froze up. your voice clawed through your throat, desperate to escape, but no words ever came out. it seems as though the silence in the air is louder than your voice will ever be.

it wasn’t like you ever felt the need to talk, anyway. you were an observer, carefully analyzing every person’s mannerisms. you could immediately tell what kind of person someone is by studying their body language, facial expressions, and the way they interacted with others.

yet, somehow, you were the only person that genuinely piqued soda’s interest— despite shyness being a trait that typically pushes others away, soda was immediately drawn to you. he found it adorable how easily he could fluster you, and he especially loved the way you listened to him rant on and on about cars, even though you haven’t a clue what half the words he’s using means.

soda stands behind the counter, counting the money in the register. though he’s never been very good with numbers, every penny he tracks is a kiss he’ll give you as soon as you walk through those doors. just as he reaches 47 cents (or 48.. he lost count at about 32), the bell above the door chimes. soda looks up from the register, peering at a group of girls walking in. however, he doesn’t seem to notice that you were following behind the girls.

“hey, welcome in, y’all,” soda’s lips purse into a slight grin. “let me know if you need any help.”

the blonde girl begins to strut her way towards soda, twirling a loose strand of her hair. “oh, i’ll need help, alright.” she winks, blowing a kiss into his direction.

the girls behind her giggled, adjusting their hair and checking each other for lipstick stains on their teeth. a part of you didn’t have the confidence to tell them that soda was your boyfriend, but the other part of you couldn’t stand watching them flirt with soda. even the sound of their laughter was like nails on a chalkboard.

soda huffs out a humorless chuckle, running his hand through his hair. “yeah, that’s nice and all, but i’ve got a lady.”

the ginger in the group scoffs, placing a hand on her hip. “i don’t see her,” she takes a step closer to soda, grazing her hand against his knuckles. “besides, she doesn’t have to know.”

something in you took over, setting your mind straight into autopilot. maybe it was jealousy, but either way, you weren’t going to stand there and let someone practically beg for your boyfriend to make out with them. this was, in fact, the very rare occurrence in which you stood up for yourself.

you storm over to the counter, pushing past the group of girls and making your way towards you boyfriend. before he can even greet you, you cup his face, slamming your lips onto his.

soda’s eyes widen in surprise as you slip your tongue in, though he follows along your pace. he runs his fingers through your scalp, grinning ear to ear between his kisses.

as you pull away, you turn your head back to the group of girls watching you with grimaces on their faces. they stood there at a loss for words as you look them up and down.

you raise a brow. “enjoying the show?”

the group took this as their cue to leave, each walking out of the door one by one.

soda stares at you in admiration, absolutely speechless. he’s never seen you this petty before, but something about your fiery side turned him on like no other. shy or not, he loves you just the way you are.

he shakes his head in disbelief. “my god, that was- that was strangely hot.”

your cheeks flush into a light wash of pink. “is it bad that i’m kind of embarrassed?”

“nah, i think it’s cute how jealous you got. guess that’s just what you’ll have to deal with dating someone as handsome as me.” he winks, placing his hand on your jaw and pulling you in for another kiss.

‘i’m sorry that you seemed to be confused, he belongs to me. the boy is mine’ .ᐟ ₊˚⊹♡

my first Soda request :') he's such a sweetie and honestly has become one of my favorites since I rewatched the movie and have been listening to the musical!

Soda gets so flustered around a crush and I'll die on that hill. He's not necessarily stammering and tripping over his words, but he's totally smitten and can't stop the butterflies in his stomach when he sees them.

We know that he's a big sweetie and that's extends to his crush. If you thought he was already super kind before, just wait until he's got a crush! So much of his attention goes to you and he absolutely begins to dote on you.

He goes out of his way to look out for you. He walks you home or wherever you're headed (one of the many rules of being a Greaser is not going anywhere by yourself), he likes to carry your bags and books. He's always asking if you've had something to eat recently too.

If you two are friends first he tries to claim the spot on the couch next to you when you're hanging out at the Curtis house and literally has shoved Ponyboy out of the way (gently lmaoooo) to do so. He lives for the chances to be close to you and tries to find ways to make it happen that aren't going to make you uncomfortable or be too obvious (but once you notice it, it's really clear)

If you're not friends first he's a bit more reserved because he doesn't want to scare you LOL but his sweetness is still so much on display and that's probably what you notice about him first. He starts by trying to find ways to bump into you in town or events and start conversations. I really think he tries to foster a friendship before he goes on to ask you out.

I mean we know that Soda is already pretty touchy feely with his friends and brothers so I don't see him being any different with his crush (if they're friends first). I'm talking him putting his arm around your shoulder, ruffling your hair, hugs, even touching your face if you've got dirt on your face or a hair out of place.

Is it just the 80s/90s romcom lover in me that thinks Soda is the type to leave little notes for you that have little crush confessions?? IDK but i think the idea is super cute!!

Being a Curtis sister and getting hurt HCs

Warnings: mentions of hospitals and violence.

Darry tries to tell himself that you're a big girl and can take care of yourself.

But if a Soc dare lay a finger on you, its not just the Curtis kids they have to worry about, its every single Greaser in Tulsa.

Sodapop is pretty chill when it comes to worrying about you.

The only time he gets worried is when you get knocked down and stay down too long.

Ponyboy doesn't try to protect you, rather, he stays by your side and has your back.

When you are hurt in anything other than a fight, though? Something is very off.

There was one instance when you received a gut punch you weren't expecting.

The pain was searing and didn't go away for days.

It turns out that your appendix was about to rupture.

You had been hanging out with Two-Bit, buying some random things for a random occasion, when you collapsed from the amount of pain your side contained.

He panicked and took you to the hospital, only calling Darryl when you were in the emergency room.

When Darry arrived at the hospital, Two-Bit left to find Sodapop and Ponyboy.

Their sister never got sick, so it had to be bad.

Pony, Johnny and Two were the most available to help you during the weeks following while you recovered from the operation.

You hated that you couldn't do some things by yourself, but also grateful for the boys.

When your restrictions were lifted and the doctor had cleared you, God was there a celebration.

All of the boys came over to the Curtis house and Had a party.

Ok…. Hear me out….

An au in which

Sandy stays with soda and says that the kid is his. It’s obvious after her kid is born that it isn’t his cause the baby is black and neither Sandy or soda are. But soda stays with her anyways… soda named her ocean, he said it was because the Sand and the ocean go together. Well now it’s years later, she’s around 6 or so I haven’t quite decided. Steve lives with the three as like a roommate basically. Well. Sandy is cheating. She doesn’t think anyone knows but hell even the kid knows. But they pretend they don’t cause soda likes to pretend he’s happy with her to get over the fact he wants Steve more than he wants Sandy. Him and Sandy got married right when they could legally but Sandy just calls him her ‘baby daddy’ and it genuinely breaks soda’s heart every single time she says it. Well…. Sandy’s been cheating even before Sandy was pregnant and it wasn’t a one time thing. And after the baby was around 3 years old and he’s know for around 2 years soda started hooking up with Steve to get over the fact of Sandy cheating on him and the fact that him and Steve aren’t together. It just kind of makes him feel worse since he feels bad. Steve knows this. And he’s always commenting about it to soda when they’re alone. He tells him to break up with her. To leave her. To be with him. But he doesn’t. And Steve just keeps on going. It makes soda want to break down, everytime he cries and hugs Steve asking him why his life couldn’t have gone different. Steve feels bad every time. But the cycle keeps going. On and on. Over and over. That’s the end.
