If im not mistaken this is the first time I've ever reviewed a movie on here and oh is it a fitting one. I bought Silent Hill Revelations from the dollar store and honestly that's how much it's worth. The movie is a jumblefuck of elements from the previous movie, Silent Hill 3, and Homecoming which hurts the film. A couple things in this film contradict the previous movie in particular the line about Claudia and the main villain of the first film being related but that means that going off the first film Heather and Vincent are cousins so their relationship is a bit off. In the end of the first film it's implied that Sharon and Alessa merged but they are split again in this one. That's just two of several holes in the film. They kill off Douglas not long after he shows up which is lame. Vincent is now the son of Claudia which was built up as a twist but if you've played 3 it's it's least shocking since he straight up mentions Leonard is his grandfather. The 3D gimmick stuff is lame. The use of Pyramid Head as a guardian of Alessia was pretty weak as well and really wasn't needed and goes against its actions in the first film. The Claudia vs Pyramid Head fight is laughably short and really wasn't needed. The CGI in the film was bad. Claudia was barely in the film and the conflict between her and Heather was borderline non existent. The horror elements were pretty weak too relying on poor jumpscares *cough cough pop tart jump scare cough cough* It fails to use the subtle horror aspects of the series. I appreciate the use of some of the music from the games. In the end of the film Travis Grady shows up implying Origins is canon in the game universe and then they tease Downpour with the prison bus driving into Silent Hill. 'Silent Hill Revelation' Micro-Review: Though 'Revelation' is certainly nowhere near as good as 'Silent Hill', and its use of 3D is painfully cheesy, there’s something fun about it. The real litmus test for most moviegoers will be whether or not they’re already a fan of the franchise. It’s more or an adventure flick than the survival Horror series from which it grew, and in that respect it's entertaining and even somewhat unique.
