Doing a little series where I took some ship requests on my instagram to make them fankids, this one is for me tho (jeanlisa to kick it off whoo 🙌🏻) The lineup so far is Cytham, Kavetham, Lionfish (aka Freminet x Gaming aged up probably idk how old they are canonically), Cynonari, Jealuc, and Beiguang, and feel free to send me some other pairings you wanna see (as long as they are legal pls otherwise I will ignore it 👎)

I'm gonna ramble about some headcanons and lore for them under the cut, continue with caution bc I'm insane

These two are my brainrot rn, don't even joke lad. And I wanna tell yall their name meanings too bc I like them a lot 🥹 Zephra's means "west wind" derived from Greek, and it's the feminine version of Zephyr. Tyrian was a type of purple dye used by the Ancient Phoenicians, huge huge HUGE thanks to my pookie bear @miothefish for helping me out with his name!!! Also he has Lisa's butterfly earring and you can't see bc of the angle but Zephra has the rose that went in her hair holding her ponytail <3

I'm also making a massive family tree for the characters as a go along, and just the jeanlisa tree is taking up half of the canvas bc of the KoF and Sumeru characters since Cyno is their uncle and the rest of the gang are their honorary uncles 😭 I'll be posting that once the series is done/all the requests are finished/I run out of ships and otps I enjoy

Here's an alternative version with some more info on most of the characters I wanted to briefly mention in their relation to them; Tyrian likes calling Eula his aunt too even though she was never really considered one for them so it's kind of like her unofficial title she pretends to dislike but she loves it and dotes on Tyrian 🤭 She and Diluc also helped train Zephra with a claymore and Diluc kind of became a parental figure to her in her teen years after Lisa's passing 🥺 She also feels like she's outshined by Jean and that she's not smart or powerful enough to follow in Lisa's footsteps (something that Lisa wouldn't want anyways bc it led her to her death 😔) rip zephra she's just like me fr

And yeah some Kaeya angst bc he's still going thru it I fear, and Jean is single mombossing but she's worried for zephra which me too dawg, im afraid to say she might be cooked 😦 Zephra is also kind of like a weird mix of Lisa when she was her age and Jean, where overall she's well-mannered and kind but she can be competitive and feel the need to push herself too much and pull a few strings to get what she wants from time to time. Tyrian is a ray of sunshine tho, he has not yet witnessed the horrors 💔 I do think that Jean is also a lot easier on him than her mom was with her so that also helps. He's very shy tho and wants to stick with Zephra or Razor most of the time, and they both have some nasty tan lines from going out with Razor and Klee and Fischl a lot 😔 Cyno also freaking loves them and dotes on them and Tyrian is getting a TCG addiction because of it smh, Cyno is also one of Zephra's favorite people and when she's in Sumeru she stays with him and Alhaitham (bc in my universe they are married ough I love cytham)

And (I think?) Klee physically and mentally ages slower than humans so I think she'd be technically 9 or 10, and Zephra is left with babysitting duty most of the time if she's home on break or smth 😭 Klee really looks up to her tho

Also, I wrote Tyrian's last bullet point like he was super young when Lisa died, but I think he was around 7 so he actually remembers Lisa better than I intended it to sound, he was just younger than Zephra (who was 11 at the time) and just didn't have as much time with her as Zeph did, but his most fond memory of Lisa was reading with her and she probably taught them some potion-making skills too.

I think there will be some abyss angst in here too at some point, since I hc Lisa to be probably an Abyss Lector/Harold (I forget which is which) um so thinking that Zeph and Tyrian experiencing some not normal things happening and Jean doesn't know what to do since Lisa also didn't really know what that dog in her was until it was too late 😔 That's what Kaeya's for tho since he's like the heir of the abyss???? Go off king. Also some touchy ragbros angst bc Kaeya is scared for Zeph knowing how close she is with Luc and he doesn't want him to push her away because of her being from the abyss or smth (they mostly made up but it's still a fear in Kaeya's mind both for him and Jean's kids)

I think that's all I wanted to touch on for now?? Mainly just thinking about domestic fluff and angst all the time now 🥺 Zeph not being able to be open with Jean bc she feels like a disappointment but Jean would literally actually die for her and shes proud of her no matter what ough im going to lose my freak dawg guess who my favorite fankid is it's super hard ik

can you drop mermaid tails for the main few pleaseeeeerrrr rpellazeew i need it for something like what fish it is yaknow and the color and whatnkt

okay😁 in my story I'm gonna leave it ambiguous whether they are swimming by fish movement or marine mammal movement so you can make up your own mind yayy but tails are like. on average 4/3 the length of your torso not including caudal fin and are triangle shape. most tails have uniform colour scales but fins can be more colourful/patterned. you have 2 side fins and a caudal fin and most ppl will have a back tail

you know ane's tail = betta, yk very long translucent fins. her tail is also longer than average and slender bc she's tall and skinny like that yk. her tail is silver-white and uniform colour her fins are translucent white and she has a back fin

teagan's tail I'm not fixed on yet I just know it's turquoise blue. probably something between like a black seabreem, mackerel and a stickleback? I think she should have stickleback spines at the very least yk. smaller tail than average

selma as you know has her hot pink lionfish inspired tail it's very much a normal long mermaid tail but with segmented/spiky fins. tail itself is uniform dark pink but her fins have the kind of black/white/pink lionfish spikes no venom yayyy. lionfish inspired back fin

melyde I think is giant kelpfish with the classic mermaid twist they all have (side fins lol). her fins are also longer and the actual colours of the tail are brighter :) she has the camoflage like ability of the kelpfish yay. parts of her fins are clear because they're still growing back in and they have a kind of. beaten up vibe bc she didn't grow up with fins and doesn't know how to deal with them. there is a very slight stripy pattern to her tail and she does have back fins

enith in my mind has a redtail parrotfish tail in my mind only the red is very very subtle. her tail is all black and also the widest (blubber, idgaf it's inaccurate) and her fins are the smallest. she does have a back fin it's small though

isther is an alligator gar obvs with a very eeny weeny back fin/side fins also her caudal fin is a little fucked up bc of the penduncle restraint. tail colour is a little darker/greener than the average gar and with much subtler stripes

iolanthe is some kind of goldfish rn I'm leaning oranda. her tail is a light pink/lilac colour (she wishes she was purple soooooo bad lmao) and her fins are kinda similar to anemone's only smaller and less translucent (less thin). she also lacks a back fin she has this weird small little ridge thing instead

As I was finishing up an expedition with my coleuge, Dr. Branston, she was endlessly gushing about the success of her textbook and research journal. It got the people interested in her works, and in dragons as a whole.

On her suggestion, I will begin my own work, on hopes it might generate the same interest in Merms. They're beautiful creatures, so diverse in shape and behaviors, such an alien intelligence behind their eyes. It is not fair the public writes them off as mindless monsters, or some kind of evil tempter. They are many things, but evil most certainly isn't one of them, not if my observations, and the observations of my fellow researchers, have anything to say about it.

For the reading public, I publish a chronical of my life's work, from my work in the Merm Rehabilitation and Rescue Center, to my ongoing work as a researcher into their behavior and environments.

3. your favorite piece(s)? It has to be the last two mermay pieces (miss nudibranch and the lionfish-y one from last year) and the drawings with Ashling. She's dear to me. 13. talk about a wip you like! I started a ref sheet for the nudibranch mermaid and she's cute :T 16. how do you motivate yourself to draw? -insert that invincible meme here- I dont. With challenges or artfight its easy. But drawing bigger pieces for myself is a pain, I need a real good idea to get it somewhere. 19. where do you find inspiration? Nature, mostly. There's a lot of patterns and animals I find fascinating. Sometimes music also hits me enough to draw something for it. 22. do you have a favorite color palette to work with? Anything with pink and beige, purple with yellow is also a treat. 34. whats something you still like from your old art? I see the happiness and fun on them I think missing from most of my recent pieces. (+ one if you have one you'd like to answer) 18. something you feel like you need to work on? I feel like I still cant do shading well or compositions. Im good until the lineart and sometimes everything flops after that step. Working on it!

Happy Birthday Sanemi!

Silver and Green scales reflect the light from the sun as his tail catches the brilliant rays. He is hovering close to the surface but his focus is down below. 20m underneath where he swims, he sees another group of Mers, happily flitting about playfully. He smiles watching the female with her Lionfish pattern flare out her spines as a much larger male with silver and purple scales tries to grab her without poking himself on the venomous barbs. They are both all smiles and giggles as they lunge and dodge at each other.   

Some 3m off to the side of them is a massive Leviathan who he has come to know. The once boogeyman of the deep is now a normal facet of his daily life. The 45m behemoth looked curious as he did a slow and lazy infinity sign in the water. The predator's way of showing he was completely at ease in his environment. Occasionally the large Apex creature would half-heartedly grab at one of them making them squeal in excitement and they would tease him for a bit. Staying just out of his reach before darting off, back to their game.  

Goldenrod and Sanguine eyes look up and lock onto Violet eyes and narrow. The Scarlet and Gold-bodied, monstrous creature casually swims up to him and cups his face with taloned fingers. “You are not participating. Why?” the other male asks as he wraps his serpentine body around the silver and green mer. “Is something wrong?” The Leviathan’s hair frames his face and fans out in a beautiful golden halo. He tenderly strokes the other man’s face and leans in to nuzzle his nose. “Mmm?”   

“I’m fine Kyojuro. Just watching.” The smaller siren says contentedly as he looks at the Leviathan fondly. One of his green-scaled hands cupped Kyojuro’s cheek. “Prey?” Kyo asks with mischief in his voice. He tightens his coils around the Mer body he has restrained and flicks the other Mer with his caudal fin.   

The smaller Mer crinkles his nose at the fin messing with his nose. “Yeah. I’ll hunt.” He says calmly. Tone not betraying the bubbling excitement he felt hunting alongside the monster from the depths. Kyojuro releases him and turns to face the other two who are watching with curiosity but too far away to hear the conversation. “Wise choice.” the blonde comments as he lazily waves at the male and female pair. “Smile and don’t let them suspect a thing,” he warns.   

The other Mer nods, his white unruly hair dances in the water. “You are the one that is suspect.” He comments back. Nodding his head at the other two and waving them off. Kyo dives down and circles the pair grabbing at them playfully as he had earlier. The larger male darts his eyes from the scarred green and silver male siren back to the flamboyantly patterned female. The male nods his head and stills his body. He appears to be completely relaxed and chill.   

All of a sudden, he rockets at the woman grab tackling her and continuing his path. “SANEMI WHAT THE HELL!?” the woman yells smacking him with her hands and pushing against his chest. She wasn’t trying to seriously escape. She is still smiling and laughing and he swims away from the group. Prize En hand.   

He swims around with her held against him until he finds a coral cave. He pulls them both inside and presses her up against the ridged walls of the bioluminescent cavern. Blues, greens, and pinks lighting up the area as the algae and corals are disturbed. Tiny little glowing fish swim around cautiously. “Sanemiiiii” the female whines and she turns her head away from him coyly.   

“Mmm?” he hums against her neck as his hands begin to play with the sensitive fins of her ears. “What is it my little lionfish?” “ ‘nemiiii...” she whines again. Squirming under his touch. “Do you know what today is?” he leans over and nips at her bottom lip. “uhh...” she starts to wrack her brain trying to figure out what today is. His face begins to fall and he pulls back. “Seriously?” he asks incredulously. She turns to face him. Her eyes look past his shoulders for a second then she dives under his arms and out the mouth of the cave. He groans and swims after her annoyed. 

Spinning around with her fins fully flared out in her most impressive display, she halts her movements and poses for him. Face beaming. Flanking her on either side are their pod members. The family unit of Makio, Suma, Hinatsuru, Kyojuro, Tengen, and their shared little Lionfish. Behind them were his brother Genya and his friends, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. As well As Nezuko, Tanjiro’s younger sister. Off on the far left and avoiding touching the Scarlet and Gold Leviathan was their half Leviathan, Half Siren pod Leader Gyomei. Smirking to himself.  

“Of course, I know what day today is!” She surges forward and gathers his face in her hands. Kyo’s body wrapped around Sanemi’s while Tengen and his three mates encircle and hug his frame.  

“Happy Birthday, Sanemi!” Everyone says together with affection. He blushes and tries to duck out but his movements are hindered by Kyojuro’s muscled serpentine body. The female holding his face chuckles and nips at his bottom lip for a change. “Happy Birthday ‘nemi. I love you,” she says quietly. Only loud enough for the Mers holding him to hear. The celebrated Siren's blush deepens and he looks her directly in her eyes. One of his clawed fingers takes her chin and pulls her forward. “I love you all too.” then he flicks her on the nose and kisses her lips as she pouts.   

Gyomei clears his throat which causes Tengen to snap his fingers drawing attention to him. “Unless you two plan on giving us a show... We have a feast to get to and celebrate the birthday fish! Let’s go!” He announces and pokes at Sanemi’s ribs. “Yeah, yeah. Let’s go. Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate it.” He says in earnest smiling at his loved ones surrounding him. Once more group hug, he is released to swim back with his pod for the feast in his honor. Members of his family unit holding his hands or touching his fins delicately as they swim off to celebrate his creation and life.   

He feels content and at peace. Full of love. For he has everything he could ever want or wish for right here and now. The chaos and mischief of his family. The daily drama from domestic misunderstandings or adventures. The late-night cuddles or love-making sessions. Even the arguments and their sometimes-tearful resolutions. All these things bring him warmth and joy. And he wouldn’t change a thing.

Black hair and black eyes, swarthy skin, many tattoos

He swol but built rangy like an alley cat

Has a magic compass

Fell off the Shandora arpeggio when trying to catch a seaturtle as a birthday present for his mother

Has pearl beads in his hair

HC that people from the Sky Islands have hollow bones, so Kele looks scary but is actually comparatively fragile.

Platinum blonde with red eyes, very pale skin

Jacked like whoa – this woman can bench-press both her husbands and the main cannon at the same time

Also very tol

Really likes it when her “little surprises” make a bigger boom than the other guy’s

Frequently kidnapped by other pirate crews; proceeds to take them over through brute force and broken arms before absconding with their loot before they regain consciousness

Lair review for Slate021

First impressions: A large lair with a lot of different dragons! Also quite a few mirrors which I always love to see.

1. 

Monstrosity is a very cool looking mirror. I love the color eldritch and when paired with Shadow okapi it gives a cool effect. I also love how his eyes match his tert.

2. 

Mortality is beautiful! Sunset gembond goes so well with Sanguine. Also I love how you dressed her the gold in her apparel beautifully matches her sunset gembond. I love the little poem in her bio too. 

3. 

Moriz is a very cool fire primal! Abyss ragged and tear make it look like he has fire within him which is a very cool look. Plus azure ghost looks amazing I had no idea it had that gradient to it! Overall very cool lad.

4. 

Oolaatra has so many colors! I love how bright he is. I like how his ghost breaks up the bright colors of his pinstripe. He’s just a really pretty dragon!

5. 

Xhera looks so elegant. I love veils so much. They’re all so pretty. But Xhera is absolutely STUNNING.  Phthalo is a color that’s really starting to grow on me. it’s such a nice shade of blue.

6. 

Servala I love because she looks like a abstract painting. I... honestly don’t remember swirl being released? Where did this gene come from? But anyway I like it on Servala.

7. 

Shadow’s art is really cool! Also it’s good to see an old gene like crackle being used so well. I really like how it looks on Shadow! I also like how you dressed him. His armor and shadowstrike give him a lot of personality, and the scars make him look like a war hardened fighter.

8. 

Glom is really cute! I like that he’s next to Shadow in your lair. They give off completely opposite looks and I hope they’re friends. His apparel give off a steampunk vibe, despite none of it being from the steampunk set. I like it!

9. 

Moonstone is elegant due to her fashion sense. The purple pops against her white colors. So looks so fancy!

10. 

Adolin is a bright boy! I love the neon brightness of his ghost. Well everything is neon bright about him. And that’s why I love him!

11. 

Orion is well deserving of his name. He looks like the night sky! I love the way you dressed him up too. The starlight guise matches his colors well and makes him looks elegant. I also like that iit doesn’t cover him up completely. 

12. 

April is a sapphire gem! Everything about his is blue and magnificent! 

13. 

I love FruitGummy’s name. Not only does it perfectly describe them, but it’s just a cute name. I never thought that crystal could look so much like candy.

14. 

Cherimoya looks like a dragon you would find hiding in the jungle. I think lionfish would allow them to perfectly blend in when surrounded by vegetation. 

15. 

Robin is so bright and colorful! She looks like an art piece from an acrylic paint pour video.

16. 

I like how well Glacier’s cloak matches the very pretty skin you have her wearing!

17. 

Is Angler named after an anglerfish? Because she looks like she could be found in the deep ocean with those dark blue colors and her large eyes!

18. 

Dalmis is one cool looking mirror! The way you dressed him gives him lots of personality. I feel like he’s a hunter with his arrows and hood. Also his ghost looks very cool over metallic. 

19. 

Masul is a glow in the dark friend! His clans mates don’t have to fear the dark with him around, because he’s a natural nightlight. Also I appreciate dragons with basic. Not every dragon needs triple genes to look stunning!

20. 

Oran is nice and purple. I like how the light color purple of her secondary color makes it look like her mane and wings are glowing!

21. 

George looks adorable with those pink bows! Something about pink dragons just makes me want to hug them, and George is no exception! 

22. 

Sherry looks sweet! She makes me think of taffy

23. 

Latte looks exactly what he’s named after. The paint and piebald looks like foam, while the ringlets look like someone made latte art on him!

24. 

Python is a dragon with genes I don’t see too often these days. He looks like someone you don’t want to mess with. He looks strong and powerful. Whoever or whatever his charge is, is very lucky to have him as their guardian.

25. 

Venom is probably venomous with those colorful patterns! He’s a very pretty bog, even if he may be a bit dangerous
