Shay:

Lightly cracked screen protector and has been for months. He has a replacement at home but it’s sat on the desk for so long he can’t see it anymore. iPhone. His phone case is one of those generic colourful swirly patterns. It’s got a flip over cover. His lockscreen is his latest favourite piece of art.

His laptop has paint stains in many places when he forgot his hands were covered. It’s old but in good condition.

Backpack has everything you need - earphones, sketch pad, book, face mask, plasters, tissues, hand sanitiser, polo mints, keys, hair tie, glucose tablets, phone charger - and much you don’t - paint brushes snapped in half, tiny weeny pencils, rubbers so small they barely exist any more, empty cereal bar packets, screwdriver. He’s owned the rucksack since he was 12.

Moss:

Phone screen is cracked all over. No screen protector. His lockscreen is GAA related and his background one of his cats. His phone case is a plain colour but he’s got a sticker of a plant related pun on the back. Huawei.

His laptop is trashed - held together with sellotape. Only works when it’s plugged in and is covered in random stickers. He’s had it for years.

He comes out with a variety of rucksacks but they’re usually all Cúl Camp ones. They definitely have a name on the top in permanent marker but it’s not always his. Bag is usually quite empty - headphones, bag of life (diabetes related things), bottle of water, some type of ball.

His car is messy and usually has mud in. Well loved. Has a Galway flag flying somewhere.

Georgie

Her phone is in good condition. Samsung. The case is the same one she’s had for years. Her lockscreen is Inch the snail.

Their laptop is ancient and has a sticker Moss put there as a joke years ago and they just left it. They will be sad when it finally comes off.

She usually carries a satchel with her. It contains a couple of spiritual things and a lucky pebble, a clean face mask and a spare disposable one, hand sanitiser, handkerchief, headphones & mp3 player, a cereal bar, a couple of fidget toys and a hat.

Lynne

Phone is in perfect condition. Probably a reasonably new model and looked after. iPhone primarily for the camera. Pink sparkly phone case and her lockscreen is a (female) pop singer or character she loves at the moment. Phone background is a photo she took.

Laptop is sensible and clear of stickers. Not as new as her phone but not overly old either. Doesn’t really leave the house. Camera is treated like the Crown Jewels but the bag is filled with junk and a bit mucky.

She has a few rucksacks or big handbags she might switch between depending on the situation and her outfit. Has exactly what’s needed - phone, keys, purse, tissues, pads, pain killers, hair tie, breath mints, hand sanitiser. Spare camera battery.

Raven

If their phone gets a cracked screen (protector) they will probably deal with it reasonably quickly. Sony. Black. Has a band phone case with two or three overlapping stickers for other bands. Lockscreen is band related.

They don’t have a laptop - just share with their mum. Ash uses it for work so it’s clean and tidy.

Their rucksack is black and red. It’s probably got at least one small instrument (like a tin whistle or a harmonica) in, at least two pairs of earphones with one ear broken, a working pair, a pen but no paper, a few guitar picks, money, a half eaten bag of sweets, a stray glove and some packets of salt from Supermacs. Also something Georgie forgot she’d put in there.

Shay's story for baking faer muffins!:

Shay had never been a particularly strong baker. Fae could follow a recipe just fine, but if fae tried to experiment even a little? Well, gogoat would get a lot of extra treats, we can put it that way. So when he moved to Dapplewood and an annual fall baking competition was established, he was a little apprehensive about participating. In fact fae hadn't planned to at all until fae found faerself stuck in faer apartment for a few beautiful autumn days.

A window was open to let in the crisp air, but it did nothing to relieve Shay's stir-craziness as he tentatively tried once more to rest weight on his bad foot. Fae hadn't had a flare-up so severe in ages, not since leaving home. And with that single thought Shay was sent tumbling through old memories.

Memories of bundling up in blankets while tucked against faer father's side on the couch. Memories of autumn scented candles lit in the kitchen because the city air wasn't nearly as festive. Memories of warm muffins in his small hands, and a smile from his mother.

Shay took another breath of the fresh air coming through his open window, and he looked outside at the forest and the mountains separating him from where he came from.

Fae may just participate in the baking competition after all.

I’m really glad that Ms. Ruby Freeman and Shaye Freeman Moss have a GoFundMe that is helping them get back on their feet. Far too often, you only see this kind of fundraising when it’s for cops who shot down yet another unarmed Black person. Rudy Giuliani must give control of his New York City apartment, a 1980s Mercedes-Benz once owned by Lauren Bacall, several luxury watches and many other assets to two Georgia election workers he defamed.

Lewis Liman, a US district judge in New York, appointed Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss as recipients of the property and gave the former New York mayor and Trump confidante seven days to turn over the assets. A jury ruled that Giuliani owes them around $150m for spreading lies about them after the 2020 election though Giuliani is appealing the ruling. Liman authorized the two women to immediately begin selling the assets. “The road to justice for Ruby and Shaye has been long, but they have never wavered,” said Aaron Nathan, a lawyer representing Freeman and Moss. “Last December, a jury delivered a powerful verdict in their favor, and we’re proud that today’s ruling makes that verdict a reality.” “We are proud that our clients will finally begin to receive some of the compensation to which they are entitled for Giuliani’s actions,” said Nathan. “This outcome should send a powerful message that there is a price to pay for those who choose to intentionally spread disinformation.”

A spokesperson for Giuliani did not immediately return a request for comment. In addition to his apartment on the Upper East Side Giuliani was also ordered to turn over several items of Yankees memorabilia and around two dozen watches. The two women are also entitled to fees the Trump campaign owes Giuliani for his legal work in 2020. Giuliani first listed the three-bedroom apartment for $6.5m in 2023, but had cut the price to a little more than $5.1m this fall. Liman did not order Giuliani to turn over a separate Palm Beach condominium, for now, amid an ongoing legal dispute there. Liman instead entered an order barring Giuliani from selling the condo while that dispute is ongoing. After losing the defamation case last fall, Giuliani declared bankruptcy to try and avoid paying Freeman and Moss the money they were owed. A judge dismissed that bankruptcy case earlier this year.

After the 2020 election, Giuliani amplified a misleading video and falsely accused Freeman and Moss of illegal activity while counting ballots in Atlanta on election night in 2020. He continued to do so even after Georgia election officials said the video showed both women doing their jobs with no issue. They have also been formally cleared by investigators of any wrongdoing. The video and lie about the two women became central to Donald Trump’s effort to overturn the election results in Georgia. The ex-president mentioned Freeman by name on a phone call in 2021 with Georgia secretary of state Brad Raffensperger, asking her to overturn the vote.

Pine = Kuh IMPORTANT: This word does not just refer to the 3 famous native conifers! This is any tree or bush that primarily bears needles! This is a generic term that includes plants like rosemary, yew, the detested sitka spruce, horsetail, and even firmoss!

Scotch Pine (pinus sylvestrus) = Bes Literally the most beautiful tree in the UK don't @ me. Has a sweeping, gorgeous red trunk, sprawling like an acacia, which grows best on poor soils. Pollen is EXTREMELY important as an HRT herb for Molly-to-Tom warriors. Pinestar's name is Bes-shai, for his gorgeous red coat.

Spruce (Picea sitchensis) = Gamnyyr There are few things more beautiful than a sitka spruce in its native range... THIS IS NOT ITS NATIVE RANGE. It is a BLIGHT. A CURSE. The moor-gobbler, the wildlife-starver. The animals of the UK HAVE NOT EVOLVED TO HANDLE THIS THING. It was the uncanny invader that replaced the SkyClan forest, an eerily quiet place in the old Forest only broken by the distant sound of human saws. It is also the plant that can be processed to create the incredibly dangerous, but useful pitch. There are many uses for this wood, as well, but Clan cats regard the tree with great suspicion. The fact that so few birds and animals are found around it give it a reputation for being cursed, in Clan culture.

Northern Firmoss (Huperzia selago) = Fiff Because of how this moss appears on disturbed habitats, particularly near Tallpines and other plantations, AND resembles a spruce sprig, it is seen as a sort of "herald" of coming invasives. Not that it, itself, is an enemy, but a warning. As such, it's often used in divination and warding rituals. For now, I'm updating the Lexicon entry for the Douglas Fir to this native plant. I am going to be doing a bit more research on pine plantations in the UK, so that I can better build out Clanmew around it. I know that since the 90s or so, the Forestry Commission makes sure that no plantations are one single species. I don't know what they tend to plant next to sitkas yet. Firkit has this as his prefix.

Lurch = Olch A major split in a tree, either between the trunk and a large branch, or two diverging segments. A safe area to perch in while climbing, or scouting.

Allegations of election fraud against two Georgia election workers who became the subjects of a Trump-backed conspiracy theory in the aftermath of the 2020 election were found to be "false and unsubstantiated," according to an investigative report released Tuesday by the Georgia Elections Board. Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea "Shaye" Moss, both former election workers from Fulton County, faced threats of violence from conspiracy theorists after their election-night conduct on a polling place livestream proliferated online among right-wing election deniers who believed Donald Trump won the 2020 election.

In one video clip, online commentators accused Freeman of handling a suitcase of fraudulent or stolen ballots.

Another clip showed Freeman handing her daughter a small item, imperceptible on the grainy livestream footage, that led some online commentators to accuse the two of exchanging a USB drive, which was allegedly meant to somehow manipulate votes. Freeman said it was just ginger mints that she kept in her purse.

The following week, Trump's personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, appeared before a committee of the Georgia state legislature to advocate for their intervention in the electoral college certification -- and told the legislators that a video circulating online showed "Ruby Freeman and Shaye Freeman Moss ... quite obviously surreptitiously passing around USB ports, as if they're vials of heroin or cocaine."

Testifying last year in the House select committee's Jan. 6 hearings, Freeman said, "I've lost my name and I've lost my reputation, I've lost my sense of security, all because a group of people starting with No. 45 and his ally Rudy Giuliani decided to scapegoat me and my daughter Shaye, to push their own lies about how the presidential election was stolen."

Freeman told ABC News' Terry Moran that she subsequently received so much harassment from conspiracy theorists that she was forced to pack up and leave the suburban Atlanta home where she lived for 20 years.

As part of their probe, Georgia Elections Board investigators interviewed a social media user who "admitted he created a fake account and confirmed the content that was posted on the account was fake," the new report said.

Von DuBose, the attorney representing Freeman and Moss, said in a statement following the release of the report, "This serves as further evidence that Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss -- while doing their patriotic duty and serving their community -- were simply collateral damage in a coordinated effort to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election."

"Lies about Ms. Freeman and Ms. Moss have been proven false over and over again, and those who perpetuate them should be held accountable," DuBose said. "We are glad the State Election Board finally put this issue to rest," Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said in a statement.

"False claims and knowingly false allegations made against these election workers have done tremendous harm," Raffensperger said. "Election workers deserve our praise for being on the front lines."

my day went well, thank you! It's currently 4:30 in the morning though so there's not much of this day to report on! from this ask list.

🌿──What way does your OC show that they care without using words? What way do others show your OC that they’re cared about without using speech?

Shay has a little habit of giving the people he loves random little things. Most times it's literally nothing, some cool soft moss or a satisfying shaped rock. But the more he knows about you the more tailored his small gifts of nothing become. He can write out small notes to hand to you at the beginning or end of the day, a little phrase of encouragement or a short summary of the day to get you up to date. It's kind of adorable!

💐──How does your OC handle being unwell or forced to rest in bed? Who cares for them and in what ways? Does your OC enjoy being doted on or are they a terrible patient? Reversed: is your OC good at taking care of others who are ill or in need?

Shay is the absolute worst when he's under the weather. The doesn't like having to stay in bed──having a super lone lie in was different than being forced to stay in bed without his own volition. He's a good patient though, despite his moaning and groaning about being bed ridden, he takes his medicine and easts most of the food prepared for him, but mostly he just wants to sleep it off so he doesn't have to think about what's happening out in the real world. He's about average when it comes to taking care of someone else who it sick. Shay is a very flightly/fidgety so he may come across a little distracted, but he knows how to lower his voice as to not startle you or give you a headache and he makes sure you're comfortable and taking your medicine and eating enough so your tummy is settled. (He'd pull you into his chest without hesitation if you asked for him to hold you──the man has so self preservation skills!)
