I'm dying...

...because the cover of my sketchbook just broke and one page of my drawings just fell out.

Also I'm on vacation at the moment, so I don't have any supplies with me to fix it. So please send me help or at least some glue or something.

Like I cannot draw the next 12 hours or something just because my sketchbook would get even more ruined.

my boyfriend and i are moving in 12 days, and all our toys have been packed up for more than a week now (sans a few of our token vibes). and i think im going to be so needy for him to dick me down by the time we settle in and unpack, and it would be such a shame if they took advantage of that and teased me for a few days.

just imagining if he kept cornering me when we pass by each other in the hall, touching me over my boxers and asking me if tonight should be the night he finally fills me up? and maybe they would laugh at me when i believe them and let myself get really excited and enthusiastic, only for him to pin me down and fuck my mouth later that night. for them to tell me that they think i can wait another day, actually, and that i'm going to need to learn some patience.

There's a weird kind of tension I feel being in the Locked Tomb fandom without being Christian. Especially having grown up in a heavily Christian part of the world, constantly surrounded by pressure to convert.

I don't only mean the constant low grade cultural pressure underpinning daily life, though I mean that too. I mean I get accosted in the street by missionaries. I mean I was first told I was going to hell when I was four years old, by a babysitter who would only let me watch Veggie Tales. I've had a man handing out leaflets follow me around attempting to lay his hands on my head or shoulders while reciting what I think a Catholic friend later told me was called the Sinner's Prayer, cajoling me to repeat after him. My grandfather died after being unable to find a support group that wasn't rooted in the christian faith, and didn't therefore require him to violate his religious beliefs.

Which is all taking the long way around to saying I don't really vibe heavy with the series' christian subtext. I like to enjoy the story primarily through other lenses.

But at the same time the symbolism is there, and intentional, and doing a lot of very interesting things. So I am paying attention to it. I try to consider it an interesting mythological theme, like the classical Greek references. It usually works, but maintaining that distance can be a struggle.

I don't really have a conclusion here. It's just a weird place to be. The draw of wanting to connect the dots, to appreciate the intricate symbolic art, at war with... all that, and with the creeping anxiety that whispers: how much of a philosophy can you know before you get filled up with it? Is there ever a point where you are what you know, whether you want to be or not?

#so yeah #I'm not likely to get very in depth with christian interpretations #because when I try to consider thing from that perpective there's a small animal in the back of my mind that starts tearing itself to piece #like a rat in a glue trap #to be clear this isn't about animosity #I hope there are people writing very deep essays about how Gideon is Jesus is Harrow and Thomas and Peter and all those guys #I might write some myself framed as literary references #I am glad people send me references and connections they make and make predictions from them #I love getting those messages!#this is just about the small animal which is me dying in a glue trap #and how pretending it isn't there only makes it worse #please don't let my weird second hand smoking style religious trauma dissuade ypu from sending me your theories #op
