The thing I love about making these videos is how much I learn. Another thing I learned today doing research for my upcoming video on Edfu Temple. In the Middle and New Kingdom, commoners were allowed to donate statues that were placed in the outer courtyard of the temple. These would often represent them in positions of reverence and servitude, so that they may worship the god for all eternity. There is some disagreement amongst scholars as to when the Egyptians started to believe that everyone would get a place in the underworld or the Duat, but in the period of Edfu that was widespread. Those who had statues in the temple would be honored ancestors and here we see again the concept of intercession, as those ancestors could petition the gods on behalf of their descendants.

I think a lot of us hate talking about our real problems online. Probably because they sound like failures or shortcomings. It's especially hard for me as a magician, since I guess I'm supposed to be able to conjure up money. It has never worked that way for me.
Sometime in 2023 I will beat cancer. Then, when all the treatments are done one of two things will happen. Either the court will take mercy on me and allow my third bankruptcy (the other two were due to student loans and medical debt as well). Or, the nuns of St. Francis will garnish my wages and I will lose my house, my car, and most likely my job, in that order. This is reality for me, and yet I have it better than this guy and a whole bunch of other people.
Just gonna leave this here.

I was at a book store in Tennessee a few years back. Nothing was really sorted. Just random sections labeled by post-it notes arrayed randomly and "Bargain" bins that were really more of "don't have shelf space" bins at the end of every shelf. It was three stories tall in what was definitely a two story building and had floor to ceiling shelves that were 25ft long with a bargain bin and then like 2ft max before you hit the next shelf that was the same size. There were three of these shelves in a row with for bargain bins per row as well. Like technically I know everything in there could fit in the space allotted to the building. But also it really felt like the walls would have to have been made cardboard thin to fit everything in there.
I found a a book of Virginia law near the bottom of a bargain bin and the state shape printed on the front did not look like Virginia. Then I opened the book and realized I was holding a 1741 printing of Virginia law. It was in such good condition I was convinced it was at least a much much later reprint. But no. It wasn't. It was a second edition. Of a 1733 printing. It had a yellow tag with no price tucked into the center that I somehow know meant "price negotiable" despite having no memory of how or why I know that.
I am still not fully convinced I wasn't making a deal with the fae for that book. Because I asked how much the book was and got "Well if you pet my dog I'll give it to you for 15 dollars" from the a little old woman who was sitting knitting with a dog that looked like a mix between a chihuahua and a thorn bush curled around the yarn ball in the basket at her feet. I reached down to pet the dog. It made a distinctly not tiny dog rumble at me and I decided I didn't actually want to risk whatever was at stake here and gently excused myself.
I don't remember leaving the store. I just was suddenly at the park by the river that my group agreed to meet at. I don't remember entering the store either. Three other people from my group somehow also found the store and left without buying anything. We eventually figured out we had all gone into the same store and we all turned to each other and almost at the same time asked some variation of "that store was weird right?"
#second hand book store come in two flavors#this store is designed to make you physically ill#and also has books that you are ninety percent sure no one has ever read#in the most “who made this god awful design choice” store ever#and then there is the other flavor#this bookstore is very clearly not run or maintained by anyone with a remotely human sense of the world#the prices are all at least 50 years inflation behind#and the books?#you're pretty sure that the top floor actually had a section of honeycombed shelves for scrolls#honest to Thoth scrolls#and the building feels just slightly bigger or smaller than it should

3,400-Year-Old Ancient Egyptian Cemetery Found With Colorful Coffins
Archaeologists have uncovered an Ancient Egyptian cemetery dated to more than 3,000 years ago containing the colorful coffin of a high priest's daughter and preserved mummies, among hundreds of other finds.
Researchers unearthed the cemetery at the Tuna el-Gebel necropolis, located almost 170 miles south of Cairo in Minya Governate, Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced in a statement on Sunday.
The cemetery, which dates back to the New Kingdom (16th-11th centuries B.C.) of ancient Egypt, was used as a burial ground for senior officials and priests during the period, according to archaeologists.
The cemetery was uncovered during excavations that began last August in the Al-Ghuraifa area of Tuna El-Gebel and features "many tombs" that have been carved into rock.
Researchers have also made hundreds of archaeological finds at the site, including stone and wooden coffins—some of which contained mummies—amulets, ornaments and funerary figurines.
One of the most notable finds at the cemetery is a colorful, engraved coffin belonging to the daughter of a high priest of the ancient Egyptian god Djehuti, often referred to as Thoth.
This deity, commonly depicted as a man with the head of an ibis or baboon, was a key figure in ancient Egyptian mythology and played several prominent roles. For example, Thoth was credited with the invention of writing and is also believed to have served as a representative of the sun god Ra.
Next to the coffin of the high priest's daughter, archaeologists found two wooden boxes containing her canopic jars, as well as a complete set of "ushabti" statues.
Canopic jars were vessels used by the ancient Egyptians to store the organs removed from the body in the process of mummification—the lungs, liver, intestines and stomach—in order to preserve them for the afterlife.
Ushabti statues, meanwhile, were figurines used in ancient Egyptian funerary practices that were placed in tombs in the belief that they would act as servants for the deceased in the afterlife.
Archaeologists also made another particularly fascinating find at the New Kingdom cemetery: a complete and well-preserved papyrus scroll measuring approximately 42-49 feet in length that features information related to the Book of the Dead.
The Book of the Dead is a collection of ancient Egyptian funerary texts consisting of spells or magic formulas that were placed in tombs. These texts were thought to protect and aid the deceased in the afterlife. They were generally written on papyrus, a material similar to thick paper that was used as a writing surface in ancient times.
Mostafa Waziri, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, said in the statement that the discovery of the cemetery is an "important" find.

It had been a few days after the camping trip. Things seemed quiet for now, however, Cobalt paced back and forth outside a locked door. Behind the door was no mistake Seth, Jacob, Thoth, and Anubis. Cobalt seemed pissed as he just kept pacing; bet if he kept on he's dig to china... or whatever is under the Underworld.
Colette walked around, thoroughly engrossed in a manga. Sure, she was probably supposed to consult some Ancient Egyptian scrolls for an advantage for the upcoming fight with Ra, but nothing within them inspired her to think outside the box; they were just all too boring, too dusty to prompt creative ideas.
She suddenly stopped when she heard a familiar voice. Was that Cobalt? She stopped before she could turn the corner; a part of her was curious to hear what he was talking about before he noticed she was there.

My birthday is coming up on May 5th. If Facebook ever did anything good, it was introducing the birthday fundraiser. In years past, I have donated to Northern Lights Sled Dog Rescue, which is a great organization.
This year I’m gonna do something a little different. One, because of the recent increase in attacks and legislation against transgender people, I want to protect the people I love. Two, since I have started Midwest Spirits, I found the perfect group I want to support.
I'm also going to point out that one of the reasons this is so important to us is that Midwest Spirits may possibly be the first paranormal investigation group with a majority of members that are transgender.
This year I am donating to Haunters Against Hate. An organization started after the Pulse nightclub tragedy. Its members consist of people who run haunted attractions, authors, entertainers, and paranormal investigation groups. By raising money through a GoFundMe, Midwest Spirits wants to become a Haunters Against Hate sponsor.
It only costs $150 to be a sponsor, but we will be giving all proceeds we raise to Haunters Against Hate. They will in turn give that money to various LGBTQ+ organizations, many of them youth groups. They also give a voice to people in the haunting community who may otherwise be marginalized and discriminated against.

Comics, art, and non-canon extras for "ENNEAD" by Mojito
There are a number non-canon side comics and extras that Mojito has put out for her boy's love manhwa ENNEAD. Some are available in the official release online and in the physical edition of season 1, and others are only available via Mojito's twitter. I'll summarize about them and link to what I can below. If you'd like to read the manhwa, I have a Tumblr post and carrd for how to do that.
Seth and Anubis hiding from Nephthys
This is seemingly the only canon side comic, and relates to Anubis' character interview (discussed below). Seth and Anubis hide from Nephthys around Heliopolis, and fall asleep. It's available in full in Korean on Mojito's postype (scroll down past the Anubis interview). It was also included in the Korean and Taiwanese print editions of season 1.
Character Interviews/Question & Answer
Mojito did a series of interviews/Question & Answers for the ENNEAD cast based on reader survey questions from August 24, 2020-September 27th, 2020 through WitchComics' twitter and the Naver website. Seth, Horus, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, and demigod Anubis were all "interviewed" for this. Part of Seth's interview is available in Korean on Mojito's postype, along with part of Anubis' interview. These were included in the Korean and Taiwanese print editions of season 1.
Season 1 Extra non-canon comics
At the end of ENNEAD season 1, Mojito posted two non-canon short story AUs, one for each version of the manhwa. The manhwa has a censored (15/16+) version and an uncensored (18/19+, mature) version. The numbers stand for age ratings. Tiny AU is episode 74 of the censored version, and R19 AU is episodes 74-75 of the uncensored version.
Season 1 Uncensored Version Extra: R19 AU/Dark King Horus AU
The R19 AU (named because the uncensored version is rated for 19+) is about an older draft of the main story where Seth is colder and Horus hates him. After the trial, Horus takes Seth as his prisoner and tortures him.
Season 1 Censored Version Extra: Tiny Seth AU
The Tiny Seth AU has Maat punishing Seth at his sentencing by making him tiny. Horus keeps him as a prisoner and mostly messes around with him (sometimes with Isis joining in).
The Cat with God as Butler
Mojito created a series of non-canon comics featuring Anubis adopting a female cat named Simba, who was also generally adopted by Seth and Nephthys. The comics featured hijinks involving the cat's adventures, mostly with Seth (but also sometimes involving Anubis, Nephthys, Osiris, and Bastet). The first comic is available on Mojito's twitter in Korean. The series was originally published physically around 2017 or earlier, and planned to be re-released in full online, but ultimately cancelled by March 8, 2022. But, Mojito announced on March 18th, 2023, that the complete The Cat with God as Butlerwould be put out again, seemingly on sale, after completion/full publication of ENNEAD Season 2. Simba has also appeared in the canon on a wall in Khemmis in Season 1, Episode 60.
Art by Mojito of Simba from 2022:
Nephthys/Isis Comic
Mojito released a short comic with Nephthys/Isis on her twitter to commemorate 1.5 million views on ENNEAD.
Maat/Thoth Comics
Sometime before July 2021, Mojito made at least three black and white comic strips focused on Maat and Thoth, starting with how they fell in love, them walking past each other, and Thoth leaning on Maat while she works. They are not currently available officially anywhere.
Parody of Sky Castle
Mojito released a two-part comic featuring the ENNEAD cast in a parody of the drama Sky Castle, located in full on Mojito's twitter. (Part 1, Part 2)
Parody of Heungbu and Nolbu
Mojito released a two-part comic featuring the ENNEAD cast in the folktale Heungbu and Nolbu, located in full on Mojito's twitter. (Part 1, Part 2). It was translated into English officially for the first time for the release of volume 2 of ENNEAD in English, with Seven Seas.
Extra Art
Mojito has released a great deal of extra art over the years, for fun or to commemorate events. Most of these are available on her twitter. Some art was made into official merchandise, which you can still buy via Koonbooks, which is an overseas official vendor.
Tarot Card Set
In 2019, Mojito made an ENNEAD tarot set, which was released in limited amounts by Seoul Comics, and has been sporadically released by them over the years as rewards for contests that are largely only available to Koreans. The art was also used for the "Which ENNEAD character are you?" quiz that mcomics put up a while back.
This is different from the fan-created set by Studio Papyrus, an ENNEAD fanworks group.
Modern Short Hair Seth
Mojito drew a modern version of Seth in 2021, with short hair.
Art of Seth to commemorate the release of the simplified Chinese translation of ENNEAD
Chibi versions of the Horus lettuce marriage proposal
Seoul Comics also turned this into enamel pins. These are based on the myth where Horus comes on some lettuce/Isis spreads his seed on some lettuce, which Seth eats, as a way to show Horus' dominance in the trial for the throne of Egypt.
Horus and Seth in tennis skirts
Art to commemorate the work done on/for the Japanese translation of ENNEAD
The full art for posters featuring Horus and Seth that have been sold as merchandise
Anuseth contest art
There was a contest in June 2022 for readers to vote on one of the four tops (Osiris, Horus, Foreign God, and Anubis) for Mojito to draw art of with Seth. Anubis won, and the resulting artwork is available for free on the Korean version of the manhwa between Season 2, Episode 44 and Season 2, Episode 45.
Horus/Seth, Anubis/Seth, and Osiris/Seth couple checklist as answered by Mojito
Sometime prior to March 22, 2021, Mojito answered couple checklists for Horus/Seth, Anubis/Seth, and Osiris/Seth in Korean, essentially explaining how the characters act in a relationship. It's unclear where she answered these, but it was likely on her postype. Screengrabs included below. The original posts have seemingly been taken down.

Here's the first part of the Amduat papyrus of Nespakashuty at the Louvre. The second figure from the right is Hepet-Hor, fiercely guarding Nespakashuty as he moves through the underworld. The deceased carries his eyes, mouth, and heart, like you do. He's being led by that god with a mouse or shrew head.
ETA: For an introduction to these 21st Dynasty papyri, click through to Towards Sunrise: Innovations in the Representations of the Swallow in the Funerary Papyri of the Twenty-First Dynasty and scroll down to "Socio-Religious Impact on the Funerary Papyri of the Twenty-First Dynasty".
[Right to left, the deceased man in white finery, raising two maat feathers; Hepet-Hor, with a lion's head topped by a uraeus, and a crocodile's head emerging from the back; she wears a white dress with red sashes and carries two red knives. Next the deceased is led to judgement, with Anubis using the scales; then Thoth makes offerings to Osiris on his thrown. The Devourer stands before Osiris like a pet dog.]

Finding Tarot Signifiers with Astrological Decans
Here’s a very brief tutorial on how to use astro.com to pull up a chart, understand which decans you’re looking at, and look up which cards are associated with those decans.
Finding your decans:
First, go here and input your birth date information. You’ll need your birth time for an ascendant. Then it will take you to this page.
It’s optional but to get a chart like the one I’ll show - under “Zodiac and houses”, select the “whole sign” house system.
Less optional is under “Display and calculation options”, select “Chaldean decans”.
Then hit “Show Chart”.
It’ll bring up a chart like this:
What I’ve circled in red are the “Big Three” - Sun, Moon, and Ascendant. Decans are counted counter-clockwise through the signs.
The Ascendant of this chart is in the first decan of Scorpio - Scorpio I.
The Sun (circle with a dot in it) is in the second decan of Aquarius - Aquarius II.
The Moon (crescent) is in the third decan of Gemini - Gemini III.
Alternatively you can scroll down and use the list format:
The first decan of each sign is 0 degrees - 9 degrees
The second decan is 10 degrees - 19 degrees
The third decan is 20 degrees - 29 degrees
So you can see:
The AC (short for Ascendant) is at 1 degrees Scorpio - so it’s in the first decan.
The Sun is at 12 degrees Aquarius - so it’s in the second decan.
The Moon is at 22 degrees Gemini - so it’s in the third decan.
Finding the cards for the decans:
Queen of Wands - Pisces III, Aries I, Aries II
King of Pentacles - Aries III, Taurus I, Taurus II
Knight of Swords - Taurus III, Gemini I, Gemini II
Queen of Cups - Gemini III, Cancer I, Cancer II
King of Wands - Cancer III, Leo I, Leo II
Knight of Pentacles - Leo III, Virgo I, Virgo II
Queen of Swords - Virgo III, Libra I, Libra II
King of Cups - Libra III, Scorpio I, Scorpio II
Knight of Wands - Scorpio III, Sagittarius I, Sagittarius II
Queen of Pentacles - Sagittarius III, Capricorn I, Capricorn II
King of Swords - Capricorn III, Aquarius I, Aquarius II
Knight of Cups - Aquarius III, Pisces I, Pisces II
Pages vary. Thoth systems tend to align them differently than Rider Waite systems and so many decks are removed from both at this point that it’s often easier to read and see which feels right to you. Some people pair them with the Queens or Kings and others use them to represent the element of the suit - similar to aces. I don’t typically use them as signifiers unless they had a traditional relationship to someone’s work. .
How to figure out which pip corresponds with a decan (Quick Version):
Signs:
Aries - Cardinal, Fire
Taurus - Fixed, Earth
Gemini - Mutable, Air
Cancer - Cardinal, Water
Leo - Fixed, Fire
Virgo - Mutable, Earth
Libra - Cardinal, Air
Scorpio - Fixed, Water
Sagittarius - Mutable, Fire
Capricorn - Cardinal, Earth
Aquarius - Fixed, Air
Pisces - Mutable, Water
Cardinal signs are the 2, 3, and 4 for each suit.
Fixed signs are the 5, 6, and 7, for each suit.
Mutable signs are the 8, 9, and 10 for each suit.
Fire signs are wands.
Earth signs are pentacles.
Air signs are swords.
Water signs are cups.
The first decan is the first number and suit in the progression. The second is the second and so on.
Ex: Aries - cardinal (2,3,4), Fire (wands).
Aries I is 2 of Wands
Aries II is 3 of Wands
Aries III is 4 of Wands.
If you’d like to know which pip corresponds with the decans. Check out T Susan Chang’s writing on Reading the Decans or her book 36 Decans. It’s a great way to learn both the decans and the pips
So for this chart, the options this person can pick from are:
King of Cups
King of Swords
Queen of Cups
5 of Cups
6 of Swords
10 of Swords
I hope this makes sense and is helpful to people!

Wouldn't be surprised if like the "mummy" is some poor guy who was buried alive & it'll be Athena's job to find out more. Maybe they were like killed like the guy in The Mummy cuz he fell in love with the wrong person.
Who knows how they'd be mummified, but like they had a bee-nado, they can hand-wave that somehow too. Lol.
Maybe whatever they used for it is the reason Buck gets all boil-y. XD Maybe at first they think it's a mummy-mummy but then they figure it's like a modern person mummified. Lol.
The start of The Mummy from 1932 below :
"In 1921, an archaeological expedition led by Sir Joseph Whemple finds the mummy of an ancient Egyptian high priest named Imhotep. An inspection of the mummy by Whemple's friend Dr. Muller reveals that the mummy's viscera were not removed, and from the signs of struggling Muller deduces that although Imhotep had been wrapped like a traditional mummy, he had been buried alive. Also buried with Imhotep is a casket with a curse on it. Despite Muller's warning, Sir Joseph's assistant Ralph Norton opens it and finds an ancient life-giving scroll, the "Scroll of Thoth". He translates the symbols and then reads the words aloud, causing Imhotep to rise from the dead. This snaps Norton's mind, and he laughs hysterically as Imhotep shuffles off with the scroll. Norton is said to later die, still laughing, in a straitjacket."
