the four main issues with designing the Ideal School Curriculum are:
1) there are so many subjects and so much knowledge in this world, how do we narrow down the most important things for everyone to know in a way that won't result in kids in school for 12 hours a day
2) there will always be kids who don't wanna be there, how can we still try to engage them meaningfully at least some of the time
3) there will always be bad teachers, how do we mitigate this fact
4) people learn in different ways, neurodivergencies and disabilities exist, how do we work with this in a pragmatic way wrt making sure kids are taught in a way that's right for them and not overstretching our teaching staff, which will always be a finite resource

Reminiscing about r/place because it’s coming back apparently (?) and remembering that there were two kinds of people on the subreddit
1. Streamers, discord servers, and subreddits staking a claim and running it like a drill sergeant to keep it in place
2. People like my friend who found one random group’s place, changed the color of one pixel slightly off, and then camping there to make sure it stayed permanently through to the final screenshot

y'know what i literally thought i was a corpse but still living and i was recommended by a lovely doctor of psychology to go to a hospital to get the treatment i need but i fucking didn't bc i though a degree in environmental protection is more important than my health - i'm literally repeating the pattern i suffered so much for

Eelektrik always keeps her spells near to her, yet hidden. She casts lightning spells in the underwater metropolis because she knows that even a small amount of electricity can travel across water with great force.

Something I love (sarcasm) having to remind myself is that I am smart. That despite everything I heard from teachers and peers growing up, I am smart. I don't have to be a genius, I don't have to be spectacular or brilliant- but I am fucking smart. and fucking hell it took so, so, so long for me to be able to understand just because my interests and abilities didn't, and still don't, line up with that of family members doesn't make me stupid.

My professor showed us the ugliest isotherm map I have seen in a long time, and we’re supposed to use it for homework. I am not enthused.

To provide students the basics of weather in a fun, very interactive assembly. Think Nickeloden meets weather. Our presenters are meteorologists and we bring a fun, high energy atmosphere for the power hour of weather.
