Character Actor

Vaughn Everett Taylor (February 22, 1910 – April 26, 1983) Film, stage and television actor. He became known for his roles in many anthology series, including Kraft Television Theatre (1947��1957) and Robert Montgomery Presents (1950–1954).

Taylor portrayed Horatio Frisby on the comedy series Johnny Jupiter. He was also a regular performer on Montgomery's Summer Stock, which was a summer replacement for Robert Montgomery Presents from 1953 through 1956.

In his many television appearances, Taylor was cast as Julian Tyler in the 1957 episode "The Chess Player" of the CBS crime drama, Richard Diamond, Private Detective, starring David Janssen. He appeared too in several episodes of CBS's Twilight Zone, including the role of the salesman in the episode "I Sing the Body Electric". Today had been the day where each art major of your college, whether it was Fine, Multi-Media, Fashion, or Graphic, took a day trip to the Museum of Art, to further study their degrees. “Easy, Monte.” You proclaimed.

“Okay… well why?”

“I mean, his work is really refined and detailed, it’s vibrant and aesthetically pleasing to look at up closely… Monet had some serious talent… have you seen his work? He’s like a late 1800’s Bob Ross.”

“Wow, I’m so glad you felt the need to dumb it down for me at the end there.” Y/B/F/N chuckled. “I may be a multi-media major, but I have other interests too.” They smiles and shake their head, as you shrug your shoulders. “But I would have to agree with you, I do admire his work.

You and Y/B/F/N continue walking throughout the museum’s exhibits, going from ancient Greek and Roman sculptures, to vintage fashion and textiles, to eventually ending up at the actual art gallery. While quietly taking in all the famous paintings, you couldn’t help but stop at the infamous “The Persistence of Memory” by Salvador Dalí. As you stood there admiring the piece, you heard a deep voice lean in towards your left ear.

“Life is surreal, isn’t it?” You quickly look over to see a curly haired boy standing next to you.

“Josh, leave ‘em be. They don’t have time for your nonsense.” Y/B/F/N seen the interaction from several paintings down, and quickly came to the rescue. “Don’t mind him, he’s in my film class…”

“No, no, its fine.” You say without any hesitation. “I’m sure that was a Surrealism joke ‘cause well…” You gesture towards the painting. “…But, if that’s a genuine question, I’d be happy to indulge in the conversation.”

“See Y/B/F/N, not everyone thinks I’m obnoxious, like you do…” Josh then pauses and clears his throat, while Y/B/F/N rolls their eyes. “Anyway, I seen a pretty human and I couldn’t help but to approach, so uh... yeah.”

“Oh, uhm, thank you.” You blush heavily and look over to your friend in shock, for this wasn’t something that happened to you often, in fact, it wasn’t something that’s ever happened to you. And despite their feeling on Josh, Y/B/F/N understood the significance of the situation for you, and gave you an awkward thumbs up as they slowly walked away.

“I’m Josh” he softly smiled as he held out his hand.

“I-I’m Y/ N, but please, call me Y/N/N.” You say in return, giving him a gentle handshake.

“Y/N… I like that. It suits you.” His smile grows a little wider. “Well, Y/N/N, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

“Thank you, and the same to you.” You smile.

After this small interaction, you and Josh spent the rest of the trip getting to know each other and ultimately ended up talking about the more philosophical things in life, since you both had the common interest of thinking about the bigger picture. You weren’t sure of this newfound feeling you had, but you a part of you wished it would never come to an end.

Because after all… life was surreal, wasn’t it?
