Chapter 10 Preview

I just wanted to start sharing some highlights from this story :D I have a lot of favorite scenes and lines, so here is one of them! I loved writing Summer's "pep talk" with Qrow in this chapter 🙈

“Setting us up? Is that what you call this? You’ve only known for a week.”

Summer swallowed her food before answering, “Yeah, and a week later you have a date. How long did it take you to ask him out again?”

Qrow scoffed, “Whatever.”

“Face it, Qrow. You never would have asked him if it weren’t for me.”

Qrow shook his head and ran a hand through his hair.

He couldn’t fight back because she was right. Qrow had accepted the fact that he wasn’t good enough for Oz. For three years, he went on every date that Summer set up for him because he thought he needed to move on. Find someone else. Let Oz find his own happiness. It was the right thing to do if he really cared about him.

It took him three years to ask the man out on one date.

It took Summer one week to convince him that he at least had to ask before ‘moving on.’ He was mourning something that hadn’t died, because he was too scared to give it a chance to grow.

Because Qrow had already accepted that he wasn’t good enough for Oz.

While renovating her house, Yang takes in a friend of Weiss’s who needs a place to regroup after ending things with an abusive ex.

Blake learns how renovating a house can look a lot like recovery.

She presses hope between her ribs like petals between pages and thinks of new beginnings, of growth.

She swallows, thinking of the proximity they’ll share in bed for the night. A silly thought, maybe, considering how often they’ve shared a bed before. But tonight feels different, full of reckless choices and skewed judgment. Tonight feels like falling.

Author's Note: Hello hello hello! Long time no see, guys. I don't usually do "announcements" like this for my own work, but this one is really special to me. I've been working hard on it for over a year, and I realized while writing that it really started with this blog over two years ago! So this post is more like a victory lap than anything else XD

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'll probably start posting this weekend! My goal is to have Chapter 1 up tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Deaged Oz AU - Promises Made

Ozymandias sighed. His bed felt strangely hard, though maybe that was the dying part. It was one of the few lives, after all, where Salem hadn't managed to kill him. No, an assassin had done that job for her. There'd been no proof that they were working for her, and plenty that they hadn't, but though the poison was slowed by his magic it couldn't be cured. So yes, he was dying. At least his descendants wouldn't have to wear his crown.

His grandson hovered, ready to hear any words he might tell him. His family knew, of course, that he was the wizard, but he worried for them, was so very scared for the next incarnation. He'd been the great warrior king, after all, but similar souls guaranteed nothing else.

He smiled at Rayne, looking as weary as he felt. "Find the next one, when they come, guide them, they'll need your help. Tell your father the same thing, but... sometimes reincarnating can take a very long while and Salem is quiet enough... similar souls are so rare. Just... find them, look after them. Take them in if they need it, advise them if they don't."

"You think they'll be young, then?"

"I don't know. That's the beauty and the curse of it, you never know who you'll wake up as next. Just... try to make sure they stay themselves, as much as possible? I worry for them..."

"Yes, grandfather. I promise, I swear on my honor as an Arc. We'll find them if it takes a year or a decade. They'll be alright."

With a smile still on his lips, Ozymandias died. It would be a very long wait.

"I... honestly thought you didn't care." Tip whispered, sadly. "That the promise was too long ago to matter."

"We always cared, Tip! You realise you're an Arc by extension, right? You're one of us, now."

Tip's eyes were wide, glossy with unshed tears and he looked deeply touched. Still, he couldn't help but mutter "Great, yet another surname to add to the list" to himself. Prism Arc's eyes sharpened, taking another, deeper look at the boy opposite him.

"If you're who I think you are, I'm going to murder Vale council..." He trailed off ominously. Tip just shrugged, still stuck on the idea that he had yet more people wanting to claim him. So much family, now he needed it rather less. So many safe havens, too late to really help.

"Hello, Prism. It's been a very long time, after all."

After a new clip from Justice League x RWBY one thought came to mind (I guess spoiler cut for those wanting to go in completely fresh to the movie):

Blake really has chemistry with everyone, cause her and Diana had some going on xD Though also got a “Yang” and more things towards how timey-wimey + multi-verse things are going to be via Kali’s mentioning the CCT being down in Atlas and Blake seeming to forget or have a fuzzy memory. That alongside Diana’s own mentioning having memories of her older self but also feeling like her teenage self.

I can’t wait to see this whole thing unfold, especially since I LOVE multi-verse concepts xD
