Victor Von Doom is a Romani man with a background CENTERING around his family's persecution, with his ethnicity being at the forefront of his motivations and tragedies.

The fact they brought back RDJ as Iron Man fan service doesn't make me excited in the slighest for Avengers: Doomsday.

....Sigh, we knew the MCU would find a way to whitewash Doctor Doom since they pretty allergic to Romani characters clearly, but still disappointing to see them actually do it. Like even if its a returning Tony Stark, it still says a-lot the MCU would rather bring Tony back then cast a Romani actor to play another take on Victor Von Doom.

since I've seen some unpopular opinions around, today's complain abt the tbosas movie is that I find so damn funny how the producers saw ppl complaining abt the whitewashing in the og thg movies and then said "okay, now we're casting the lightest possible latinos as two of the main trio characters, are you happy now? 🙄"

"Acting is acting" you cannot act as another race

Listen, RDJ is a great actor. No one is questioning his ability to act well as Doom, I'm sure from an acting perspective, he will do well

But Doom is Romani. That is an integral part of his storyline, it's why he does everything ever. By casting Robert Downey Jr, a white man, as Doom, a Romani character, this marks the fourth time Marvel Studios has whitewashed a Romani character and completely erased their heritage

You cannot act as another race, especially not when it is so deeply intertwined with their story. You can say that you like the idea of RDJ as Doom, but since he is not Romani, he should not have been chosen

Iron Man: Demon In An Armor issue to justify the RDJ casting as if they didn’t just put “Iron Man Doom” into Google and latch onto the first couple image results (without even trying to find a synopsis on these two VASTLY DIFFERENT STORIES, mind you) is truly exhausting
