A Musical Tale of Stones, Tubes, & More Stones
It’s not often that you can see a classic band from the 60s or 70s with more than one original member. A notable exception are The Rolling Stones with original members Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, and Charlie Watts lasting from 1963 through 2021 until Charlie passed away. Add Ronnie Wood in 1975 until now, and that’s a group with history, legacy, legitimacy, and longevity. So, it was with some…

I h3ad cannon athat all the batfam members have had/are still in their emo/goth phases.
Example:
Bruce dressed as a bat and punches criminals at night (I also head cannon that he listens to the rolling stones and MCR)
Anyways thoughts?
Also what were the other batfam members emo/goth phases like?
Dick: He was hella neurotic in his late Robin/early Nightwing days. That plus his mullet and guitar tells me he probably tried to live out of a used van he bought for $700 after a fight with Bruce only to come home a week later when someone knocked on his window.
Jason: He's the theater/classic lit goth. When he was younger he would read by the glow of a candelabra even though the lights work perfectly fine. Post-resurrection, he graduates to the biker anarchist who has no problem launching a molotov at a CEO's mansion.
Tim: He's from the 90s. He's sitting in that Y2K grunge-emo-punk gray area where his playlist is a mix of the Clash, Nirvana, and Green Day. He's coloring his hair with Kool-Aid, playing with makeup, ripping his own clothes, and talking about new songs on AOL.
Damian: He's aiming for dark academia, but that's hard to pull off if you know what American schools look like. He annotates the margins of his books with notes he thinks are insightful but are actually just basic observations. Also he listens to Imagine Dragons.
Duke: This kid isn't emo or goth, he is a punk through and through. Sassing the cops? Jumping off a bridge? Leading a ragtag vigilante team? If he wanted to, I bet he can pull off a leather jacket with some homemade spikes while blasting Bad Brains and Death.
Cullen: Canonically, he watches anime and Supernatural, and I've made a lot of Tumblr references with him. He's definitely your quintessential 2010s emo nerd—Black Parade, fandoms, the whole shabang. He also definitely followed Dan and Phil.
Stephanie: She strikes me as the early 2000s pop-punker—think MySpace and Avril Lavigne. She probably had a Not Like Other Girls phase that she quickly grew out of. I can see her cutting posters out of magazines and sneaking her MP3 under an oversized hoodie.
Cassandra: She canonically listens to Killswitch Engage, so I like to imagine what she was like as a baby metalhead. Maybe she thrifted a Pantera shirt and chopped her hair with safety scissors. And at concerts she's absolutely up front when the wall of death happens.
Barbara: I think she dabbled in a little bit of everything without ever outwardly expressing it. Her playlist is all over the board, from softer rock to screamo. She also experimented with makeup a little, like black lipstick, and is more involved in the activism side of things.
Harper: She's definitely industrial punk with a huge emphasis on the DIY aspect of the subculture. She strings soda tabs into chains, turns old screws into boot spikes, and even learned to give herself tattoos. She also absolutely has a drawer full of patch pants.
Carrie: She's a TikTok e-girl, leaning into the pinks and purples along with black and white. She turns fishnet leggings into gloves and has a bunch of animal ear headbands. She also listens to Melanie Martinez and Tame Impala regardless of if they count as alternative.
Kate: Queer people play a huge role in the punk scene and vice versa. I can absolutely see Kate jamming out to an early Pansy Division track or searching places like Bandcamp to support smaller indie artists. Also she has a jacket that says "Nazi punks fuck off."
Alfred: Before punk and its subgenres, Alfred was canonically a delinquent and in that day, delinquency meant gelled-up hair and moving like Elvis. The hair didn't work out for him, but he was able to catch one of the first shows Buddy Holly played in London.
Selina: Alt cultures are based on not having much and working with what you got. Selina would use the five-finger discount at big-box stores and save her money to support small businesses. She also went around listening to free local rock shows on Fridays.
Bruce: He listened to the Rolling Stones before, but his first real intro to the scene was a handmade zine he found on the floor at school. From there, he explored more underground artists and took up journaling as a way to vent his feelings. And then: Batman.

September 18th, 1976 - Queen Story!
Queen played a free concert in Hyde Park, London, UK - To Thank their fans!
👉 It is estimated that between 150 and 200 thousand people were present in Hyde Park, a record still difficult to overcome for that location
👉 A wistful-looking Freddie Mercury back stage in Hyde Park, 1976
📸 Photo by © Danny Clifford
🔸Danny recalls: 'I had been wandering around backstage... and there he was, in a white boiler suit, being handed a microphone. With minutes to go before the start of the show, I playfully asked, “Who are you?” “Freddie.” He replied cheerfully, seeming to appreciate the cheek of my question. I asked him if I could take a few photos. “Of course you can, dear boy!” was his reply. With a portly stage assistant to my left giving him last-minute instructions, Freddie struck a couple of poses for me, looking like Count Dracula. Surprisingly relaxed, I thought, considering he was due on stage any minute. “Off anywhere nice?” I asked him. He just smiled and pointed upwards to the hole above his head. With that, the sound of Brian May’s guitar rang out and the platform Freddie had been standing on started to levitate, rising straight up and onto the stage for the start of their show. I made my way back to the front of the crowd at speed to capture Freddie, now stripped to a white leotard, in all his camp, charismatic glory. This would be the beginning of my working relationship with Queen'

John, Paul & the Shangri-Las
Whatever happened to The life that we once knew?
It's fairly well known that these lines from the bridge of 'Free as a Bird' are adapted from the lyric of 'Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)', written & produced by Shadow Morton and performed by the Shangri-Las. Where the Beatles, in lyrics begun but not completed by John, call up shared memories, Mary Weiss sang of "the boy that I once knew". That John reused these lines to voice his own preoccupation with an unresolved past adds much tenderness to 'Free as a Bird'. Being a Shangs fan, there are a couple of other connections that I just wanted to write about.
The Shangs looking dangerous.
Today I love you more than yesterday
'I Know (I Know)' from Mind Games (1973).
Although the melodies are completely different, the Shangri-Las song 'Love You More Than Yesterday' seems to find an echo in the most emotive lines in the bridge of John Lennon's 'I Know (I Know)'. The song was a B-side to their 1966 spoken-word ballad 'Past, Present & Future' (which, incidentally, took Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' as its theme, like the Beatles' song 'Because' after it). Quite rightly the nod to 'Yesterday' is what strikes us most, but I'm not at all sure that the similarity to the Shangri-Las title is pure coincidence. We saw in Get Back how easily song titles and lyrics were used by John and Paul in the current of their talk.
It proved difficult to find John speaking about the Shangri-Las, despite the Beatles' enjoyment of records by other girl groups like the Shirelles, and they're not among the artists on John's famous 40-disc mobile juke box that he brought when the Beatles went out on tour. (Only one woman, Fontella Bass, appears among the discs. The juke box doesn't even include 'Angel Baby' by Rosie and the Originals, whose fresh, unrefined first-love sentimentality appealed to him so much he covered it.) It's a little easier to find something from Paul on the subject however.
Mary and Betty Weiss from the Shangri-Las, photographed by Jini Dellaccio in 1966 (left: screenshot by @ohhellno on tumblr*; right, my screenshot, both from the documentary Her Aim is True, about the photographer).
Of course he calls out "Shangri-Las versus The Village People!" at the beginning of 'Mr. H. Atom'. But glorious as that is, perhaps more informative are the occasions where Paul has spoken of his enjoyment of the Shangri-Las' style, and the way he appreciated Linda's voice in this mode.
If she’s a singer, she’s very much a Shangri-Las type singer; I don’t think any of them could get into opera, but I prefer them to opera. Linda wouldn’t put herself up as a great vocalist, but she’s got a great style. I think anyway.
'McCartney Gets Hungry Again', Musician, Feb. 1988
I've always maintained that she has a kind of Shangri-Las type of appeal.
'Can Paul McCartney Get Back?' Rolling Stone, June 1989
When you know how warmly Paul regarded their style, you can't miss the similarity of Linda's spoken intro and closing of 'Wide Prairie' ("I was in Paris, waiting for a flight..."), answered by Paul, to the chat in Shangri-Las songs like 'Give Him a Great Big Kiss', where the other girls ask Mary Weiss whether her guy is tall ("Well, I gotta look up!") or if he's a good dancer.
Did they meet?
On the 20th September 1964, the Shangri-Las performed on the same bill as the Beatles, at a benefit concert in New York for a cerebral palsy charity. Mary Weiss explained that Mary Ann Ganser was jostled backstage as one of the Beatles sought them out:
“She turned around and it was Ringo. So that was some contact, anyway. I almost wanted her to take his drumsticks.”
'Weiss Leads Again', the New York Sun, September 2007.
This seems to be the only documented contact between the groups, although if you know of others, or further instances where John or Paul spoke about the Shangs, I'd love to hear about them. The music that the Beatles listened to has been written about extensively, and there's almost a canon of influences that's become pretty standard. Given their admiration of their performance, and seemingly in John's case, of Shadow Morton's words**, I hope for some recognition of both Lennon and McCartney's creative responses to the Shangri-Las.
(* Many thanks to @ohhellno for letting me use this great screenshot.)
(** The interest was of course mutual, as Morton produced the Beattle-ettes single 'Only Seventeen', supposedly a response to the Beatles from the girl's perspective, with hand claps and cries of "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" The single, by an untraced group, was released in 1964. In summer the same year his first songwriting hit, 'Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)' was the breakout success for the Shangri-Las. It was racing up the Billboard Hot 100 as the Beatles toured the States in the second half of August. By the time they had a day off in Key West, on the tenth of September, it had reached the top ten, one place below 'A Hard Day's Night'. If John or Paul tuned to a pop radio station, they'd have heard it. The song peaked at number five.)
from the Billboard Hot 100, week ending 12th September, 1964.

An interview from Italian Rolling Stone Magazine which I put through Google Translate.
- Note how Alex says that Sweet Dreams TN is about a beautiful Mexican girl 🤔
- Also how Alex is self deprecating about his nose 🥺
Fooling around with the Last Shadow Puppets
Alex Turner, frontman of Arctic Monkeys, and Miles Kane are more like brothers than friends, and they introduce us to the new album by stealing each other's jokes.
25 April 2016. Di Silvia Danielli
They look at each other secretly and burst out laughing, one finishes the other's sentence, from one word they begin to remember a thousand anecdotes about them. They call it bromance, that friendship between two people of the male sex so strong that it resembles a romantic brotherhood. Once upon a time, Bruce Springsteen and his saxophonist Clarence Clemons were a clear example of this, while in the Hollywood field it is Brad Pitt and George Clooney or Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Alex Turner and Miles Kane, both recently thirty, of The Last Shadow Puppets are no less so.
Some classify it only as the side project of Turner, frontman of Arctic Monkeys, others see its potential. Turner and Kane, the latter in the Rascals and Little Flames and now a soloist for a few years, met at a concert in 2005 and since then "have never left each other". In their free time, obviously, because Arctic Monkeys are a group with a high maintenance rate with a fan base worthy of a boy band and Last Shadow Puppets represent, after all, the time for messing around. In these years they have only produced the album The Age of the Understatement in 2008 and now Everything You've Come to Expect. The proportions, however, could also be reversed: AM are currently at a standstill, TLSP have recently started a long world tour (with two dates in Italy: July 5 in Ferrara and July 6 in Milan) and they already have the last chapter of this ideal trilogy ready (even if they still don't know when it will be released).
We meet them in a boutique hotel in London and it’s 9.30 in the morning. Early for them, very early in fact. Alex is the first to arrive and, even with his eyes rumpled and his quiff ruffled, he is still elegant. Like a new crooner, one might say, in tune with the general mood of TLSP. He starts interviewing me: “Where have you been in London these two days? Where did you eat your Sunday roast? Do you like Saint Paul’s?” After asking him in turn and finding out that he has a house in London, that on Sunday he was also in the Islington neighborhood for the ritual of the roast at the pub with friends and that the ghostly atmosphere of Saint Paul’s Cathedral scares him, Miles arrives and apologizes for the delay. I immediately sense that interviewing two subjects suffering from a bromance at the same time will be anything but simple.
Turner and Kane have both left England (Turner is from Sheffield and Miles from Birkenhead) to live in Los Angeles, so they have even more anecdotes to share, without involving the third wheel (me). They recorded this new album at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, once Bob Dylan’s and now Rick Rubin’s. They certainly had a pretty good time during that time: “Well, you know, having the Pacific Ocean in front of you all the time gives you a certain energy. Nothing like recording the previous album in the north of France. We also had lots of friends who came to visit us while we were in the studio. And we never went to the beach, you know, otherwise we would have been too distracted. Anyway, that air, the moonlight, the romantic atmosphere…” They laugh. And any chance of bringing them back to a more serious tone is lost forever. They steal each other’s jokes, like when they swear that in L.A. they go to bed early, “because, you know, we wake up really early.” Looks of understanding. And they say they only get pissed off for “fundamental” reasons: “For example, when we both want to wear white shoes in the evening. Even now, I arrived late because I had to change, for example,” Miles explains.
Back on track with Everything You’ve Come to Expect, they say they once again used James Ford (also in Simian Mobile Disco) on drums, Zach Dawes of Mini Mansions on bass and Owen Pallett on strings, but this time they limited the references to Scott Walker: «We chose him for his ability to use strings and transform the pieces into ideal soundtracks, but this time it went differently: we tried to give it a more personal touch». Like the first album, however, this one also seems like a soundtrack with a dreamlike atmosphere. And they reiterate it, using the word dream in two titles: The Dream Synopsis and Sweet Dreams. «Yes, you know, dreams are important, don’t you think?», Alex sneers. Apart from everything else, Sweet Dreams, where Alex brings out his best crooning skills, is remarkable. «It’s the only love song on the album, you know? Dedicated to this Mexican girl, very beautiful…», and he starts singing.
The two have defined the sound of this album as halfway between the Beatles and the Fast and Furious. The first reference is evident in some songs (in the title track, for example), but for the second I ask for explanations: perhaps it applies to the first single they chose, Bad Habits, which is the most rhythmic, quite different from the others and reminiscent of the Strokes. «It could be, some of the Strokes' albums were really fundamental for us, and we still like them». In fact, the video of the two of them at the Strokes concert in New York last summer, while they happily dance to Barely Legal in Hyde Park, went viral in a short time. Like the photos that portray them with it girls, from Alexa Chung to Suki Waterhouse, or the models of the moment, to the delight of the English gossip newspapers. Tombeur de femmes? They laugh. Surely fans of the genre, to the point of choosing sensual women for the covers of their albums, like for the latest one, where there is a young Tina Turner. “Always better,” Alex concludes, “than putting my nose on the cover, don’t you think?”

George with Dr. Smith and unknown (probably one of the clinic staffers); photo courtesy of drdave.org.
The proceeds from sales of George’s 1974 Dark Horse Tour program benefited the non-profit Appalachian Regional Hospitals. George’s tour also included a stop in San Francisco, California; the proceeds from that went to the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic: “The clinic had grown but had lost federal revenue-sharing money marked for 1975. It was set to shut down part of its medical sector, which, the previous year, spent $67,500 to treat 10,000 patients. Harrison donated net profits from his first Bay Area concert to the clinic — a total of $66,000. The day after that first concert, Harrison, future wife Olivia Arias, who was at that time working for his record label, Dark Horse, and several others visited the clinic. This time, he was no pied piper leading an adoring mass. Patients at the clinic recognized him. But, as founder Dr. David E. Smith said, Nobody gaped; nobody mobbed him or kissed his ass.’” - SFGate, December 2, 2001 “Harrison visited for about a half hour, just before a concert. His party toured the facilities and, in a back room, chatted with several staff members. He gave them gifts, among them a Dark Horse necklace and pieces of embroidery, and asked for a Free Clinic T-shirt. ‘He said he hoped to start a ripple with other musicians doing the same kind of things,’ writer Amie Hill, a clinic volunteer, said later. ‘The doctors gave him a plaque, and — I didn't hear this, but — someone told me he said, “Don't thank me; it's not me, it's something else over us that acts through people like me. I'm just an instrument.”’ […] ‘For me to be able to do some act which is nothing, really — they need much more money than they got from that — but just to go and see what they're doing there is nice, and it's comforting to see that there are nice people in the world like in Haight-Ashbury Clinic, and it's God bless 'em, you know.” - Rolling Stone, December 19, 1974

Keegan P. Russ moodboard + random headcanons
🎸⋆➤Born in the mid to late 80’s, ok 1989 which makes him a millennial of course. Fairly normal, but he always felt a bit like the black sheep of his family, being drawn to music and rebelling against authority. Indeed, raised predominantly by father, who would have passed down a lot of practical skills and knowledge and handyman, owned a small garage, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom. Keegan picked up loads of skills from him, like survival tips and how to work on cars. Let's say he was born and raised in a small town in the Midwest, somewhere Iowa or Nebraska. This adds to his country roots and help explain his rugged, no-nonsense attitude. As for siblings, has two younger siblings: a sister and a brother. He's the eldest, meaning he's the protective and responsible one who always looks out for his younger siblings. He's pretty close to them and is usually the one they come to for advice. He and his family moved to California around middle school.
🎸⋆➤Spent a lot of time outdoors, exploring the woods and playing in local bands. He also had a pretty strong-willed personality even as a kid, which often led to conflicts with his parents and authority figures.
🎸⋆➤Known Ajax either since childhood, from school, or he was literally his neighbour best friend.
🎸⋆➤Despite his rebellious appearance, Keegan is actually a deep thinker with a passion for making music. His love for music likely started from an early age, inspired by the sounds of grunge that were popular in the '90s. 100% huge Nirvana fan and secretly idolizes Kurt Cobain. He'd never admit it outright, but he's inspired by Cobain's songwriting skills and his ability to express such deep emotions through music. In a way, he aspires to replicate that kind of impact with his own songwriting, channelling the same level of rawness and emotional depth into his songs.
🎸⋆➤^Even has stuff like Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, System of a Down, and Deftones living rent free in his head. He thinks he can do the awesome screaming but never does/doesn't scream.
🎸⋆➤He's 5'7 at this stage, 176 cm specifically (SHORT KEEGAN LMAO, laughs in microscopic size) However Jemíma and Keegan are the nearly same height, but the girly’s shoulder is slightly higher.
🎸⋆➤A good lead bassist for the band. He's got the technical skills and the ear for a great riff, and he's not afraid to be the centre of attention when the music calls for it. Plus, being a lead bassist means he gets to rock out with a cool bass solo or two, which he'd relish! (One time he impressed Jemíma with his bassist skills which lead her to fall in love with him)
🎸⋆➤Has a secret love for reading comics or graphic novels, or has a collection of vintage leather biker jackets. He might also have a hidden talent for singing, but would never admit it in front of the others. And of course, he'll never turn down a chance to go to a concert, especially one for his favourite grunge bands.
🎸⋆➤Always plays the same bassline over and over while he's chilling or waiting for practice to start, like a habit he's formed without realizing it. And one time, Merrick got so annoyed by him playing it nonstop that he finally snapped and said sarcastically, "Wow, Keegan, another rousing rendition of that same damn line. Can't wait to hear it 50 more times today." has a habit of making up stupid, overly-dramatic song names for his bass lines, like "The Ballad of the Bass God" or "Bassline of Doom." He'd announce them with a flourish, much to the others' collective eye roll.
🎸⋆➤Risk taker bitch- maybe he's a bit of a thrill seeker, always up for a little danger or excitement. He might have a bit of a reckless streak when it comes to riding his bike or trying out daring stunts on his skateboard. The others might call him crazy, but he just grins and says, "Hey, you gotta take risks sometimes!" (probably have a collection of bruises and scrapes from his many adventures)
🎸⋆➤His bitch ass (stanky ahh rat boy) DEFINITELY loves Jemíma. He just won't admit it, even to himself. It's obvious in the little things he does, like how he constantly watches out for her, always making sure she's safe and taken care of. He might act like it's just a friend thing, but deep down, it's much more than that intense, passionate kind of love that can border on obsession, like he can't get enough of her and will always go out of his way to be near her. He's constantly seeking her attention and trying to impress her, even if he won't admit it. In many ways, their relationship is a constant push-and-pull dynamic.

Pampering night - John Stones
Not based on any request but sth I felt like writing because I was in a fluffy mood plus I've been missing that goofy tall man way too much 🥰
Warning: none, a lot of fluff
Tag list: @prideofpd @masonxomount @johnstonesfc
Small things are what make life worth living, or what make it a little more bearable at least.
Going back home after a long day at work, looking forward to a hot shower was among those little things aforementioned: that new rose scented shower gel waiting for you in the cubicle as well as the new hair mask you bought a couple of days ago made you eager to go to your nest.
When you inserted the key in the front door's lock to open it you were met with darkness and silence, meaning John was still out for training.
The first thing you did was taking off your shoes, a little satisfied moan following that gesture, as you left your bag on the armchair at the entrance where you would usually leave your things.
A couple of minutes later you tested the water's temperature with your hand and you smiled when it got warm enough for you to hop in.
Secondly you went upstairs, entering your bedroom where you got rid of your clothes ready to have your well deserved shower.
You walked in your bathroom and turned on the faucet to let some warm water roll down as you took your phone to message your boyfriend to let him know you were home.
Needless to day you took all your time to wash your body and your hair, humming to the pop jams that were serving as the perfect soundtrack for that relaxing moment. You were all by yourself meaning you could sing out loud in peace, not worrying about bothering anyone and that made you feel so free.
As a natural consequence you didn’t hear when John came back home, an hour after you more or less. He smiled when entering your shared house as the sound of music mixed with your voice reached his ears.
The Manchester City player left his duffle bag downstairs near yours and walked towards the kitchen to get a glass of water, before following the noise that welcomed him and that would have led him upstairs.
When he got there you got out of the shower and turned off the music, wincing when his tall figure met your glance.
"Hello there"
"Hi…you were so quiet I didn't hear you coming back"
"You're too busy performing your own concert" He giggled, thinking about the 80s tune you were singing your heart out to, while getting closer to your lips.
You whined against him as he kissed your lips sweetly.
"How was your day?" You asked him as usual, walkingto where your divider was to discard your bathrobe on the floor and put on one of those big t-shirts you would usually use as pajamas.
"Yeah good, nothing special…" He answered absentmindedly while abandoning his body on the soft surface of the mattress underneath him. "Kinda tired though"
You popped your head to the side to catch a glimpse of his long legs dangling down the bed.
The only thing you had to get rid off was the towel you had wrapped around your head as a turban but, before that, you walked closer to the bed and slowly lowered your body over his to kiss him on the lips.
"Poor baby boy, it seems like you need some good pampering…"
John knew you too well to know what that pampering you were referring to meant and it was some skin care ritual you were keen on doing every now and then.
"I don't need any masks, thank you"
"The vitamin C one I got the other day would be perfect for you"
"Y/N" He huffed.
"I love you, remember that" You whispered, planting another peck to his lips as your towel fell from your head, causing his face to be covered with the cloth and your wet hair.
"Sorry babe" You laughed, trying to throw your hair back.
"I've read wet hair on your face count as a mask"
"John"
"What?? Not my fault you haven't been keeping up with the latest beauty secrets"
You got up from him to go and dry your hair, leaving the trail of perfume of your shower gel behind you. It was a pleasurable feeling, you felt so light and so careless and that was exactly what you needed to unwind.
Getting back to the bathroom your stare fell on the giant mirror before you where you could see John's figure getting up from the bed and scrolling a bit through his phone before taking off his jumper and dragging himself around the room shirtless.
The sound of the appliance in your hand thankfully covered the loud gulp you emitted at that sight: it was stronger than you, even after a fair while together you couldn’t get used to the perfection he embodied. He felt so good to be true
You sighed and turned off the hair dryer to enjoy his loving cuddles, covering both his hands with yours.
On his part he was a little shit because he knew how you felt and didn't lose any opportunity to tease you.
He got closer to you to stand behind your body. To balance himself he pressed a hand on the counter before you and the other one on your hip bone as he placed his lips on your neck, to be more precise on the spot where your neck met your collarbone.
"Are you ready to go back playing?" You asked him, referring to his injury.
John nodded, brushing his nose against your jaw.
"Might be back for the game against Leipzig"
"That's great baby!" You squealed, turning to face him and cupping his face with your hands to kiss him. "So you need a mask to go back on the pitch in all your glamour, ready to defeat your opponents, blinding them with your hotness"
He rolled his eyes knowing full well he couldn’t resist you much longer, he had to give in to the skin care menace.
He stood there, hands on his hips looking kind of hopeless, waiting for you to apply the fabric mask on his face.
"John love, can you bend down a little? Can't reach it"
Every little thing that highlighted your height difference never failed to make him laugh and so he did that time too.
"Gonna sit down" He chuckled while walking backwards towards the the edge of the bed where he sat down to let you do your work. "is this height okay for you, little one?"
"Yeah, thank you" You muttered, a little stung by his jab.
John found you adorable when you got all annoyed and grinned, squeezing your bum affectionately.
"I have to shave actually, can I do it later?"
"No! You should have done it before the mask!"
"I'm still on time! You haven't applied anything yet on me face"
It was now your turn to roll your eyes as you already had the fabric thing in your hands, ready to put it on his features.
"Go ahead then" You bumbled, moving to the side so he could go take his razor. "You don't have to shave, you want to"
"Babe -"
"You know what I think about your beard"
"And you know what I think about it too"
As he was busy doing his thing, you wasted no time and in the meanwhile and applied your lotus flower eye patches under your tired eyes.
You were nothing but perfect in your eyes: two people madly in love doing small ordinary, almost unremarkable things together, made special by the love that kept you together.
That moment no doubt would be impressed in your mind forever but you also wanted to have something material that would have helped you reliving it in the future too so you took your phone to snap a picture of it: John brushing the razor against his upper neck as you wrapped your left arm around his chest, bright pink patches on, holding the phone with your right hand to take the picture.
You smiled looking at the final result on your screen.
"Look how cute we are" You gushed showing him the picture. "Gonna use it as my lockscreen"
John didn't like the idea of you "displaying" your love at the whim of indiscreet eyes, someone that could spy on your private world that was for the two of you only.
"Come on, you once put an x-rated pic as your lockscreen!" You whined referring to a particularly hot photo session where he would use the one he took of him biting on your bum.
"It was just a joke! I put it just to mock you and removed it soon after"
"Yeah just in time for Rúben and Kyle to see it" You grumbled quite bothered by that event.
John, on his side, found it sort of amusing and started giggling "Well, it means I succeeded in taking the piss"
"Ha ha how funny…come on, the mask is waiting for you"
While you were keeping your eye patches posing you basically pushed John to sit on the edge of the bed to apply that damn mask on his face.
"Ok so now you'll keep this for the next 25 minutes and shut that pretty mouth of yours up"
You both had to keep it on for 25 minutes so you took advantage of that time to chill out on your bed: you got seated with your back against the headrest, your legs stretched out as John would use you as his pillow, resting his head on your upper body.
That posture together with the gentle scalp massage your fingers were applying on his head, made him release all the tension built up in the last weeks and ended up falling asleep. The little snores coming out of his mouth brought a genuine smile to your face and removed his phone from his hands. You kept on moving your hand through his curls.
Those small things were what made your life worth living, having your favourite human being by your side to share them with was an added value that felt like the biggest gift life could ever give you.

Attention to Detail
GIF credit: @angel060563
Summary: Men rarely pay attention to the things women say, but that's not the case with Officer Tom Hanson.
Tom Hanson x Reader
A/N: Just a quick Drabble!
Warnings: None! fluff!
Word Count: 958 :)
For the past three weeks me and Penhall were at a local high school making a bust on drug dealing.
It was always fun when me and Doug were put on a case together, he always knew how to make these cases interesting.
After I got a gun pointed to my head by one of the suspects we made an arrest.
I asked Jenko if I could have the day off and work at my desk.
“Hey how you doing” Penhall asked pulling a chair next to me.
“I’m fine…isn’t the first time I got a gun placed to my head”.
“Hanson, Penhall, Y/L/N in my office” Jenko spoke.
I took a seat next to Penhall on the couch while Hanson stood up.
“We got a new case apparently somebody is trying to relocate SouthCentral High School one room at a time. Last night was the fourth BE in the same amount of months. No forced entry, no busted windows”. Jenko informed.
“Doesn’t sound like much of a break in” I added.
“Burglary says to smacks of an inside gig. Like one kid gets a set of master keys, the next thing, half the school’s drinking free sodas, and on top of that, some teachers getting free roses from so secret admirer” Jenko continued.
“Got any suspects?” Hanson asked.
“Got a couple. My best bet is a guy named Jeffery Stone. Sells everything from hot records to tickets to the Boss’s concerts, third row”.
“Sounds like a real sales man” I spoke.
“well Hanson your on this case. Penhall will be your backup in case things go south. Y/N I want you here going over this Stone guys profile see if you can get anything off him” Jenko informed us.
“Not a problem I gotta help Ayoki study for his test anyway”.
The three of us group outside by Hansons desk.
“So aside from the kid selling merchandise we also got a stalker creeping on a teacher and leaving her flowers” Penhall spoke grabbing a cup of coffee.
“At least she’s getting flowers” I mumbled sitting on Hanson’s desk.
“Aw come on Y/N I bet you get flowers all the time” Penhall teased.
I rolled my eyes.
“What no one’s given you a bouquet of roses?” Hanson asked.
I look at him.
“I don’t even remember the last time I got a single flower let alone a whole bouquet. Besides roses are so clique every girl loves red roses. I on the other hand am very different...Would make my day if a guy got me a single white lily my favorite flower”.
***
It was getting late, Ayoki and I had been doing practice questions for I don’t know how many hours.
We decided to break for a while and I took it as an opportunity to rest my head on my desk.
But ended up knocking out instead.
The sound of a loud book hitting my desk made me shot up.
“A felon cannot be issued a drivers license” I spoke still half asleep.
I rubbed my eyes to see a smiling Hanson sitting on top of my desk.
“Oh it’s just you Hanson” I yawed stretching.
“What are you still doing here this late” he broke into a smirk.
“it’s not that late it’s only…midnight” I looked over at my watch.
“She was helping me study that is until she fell asleep two hours ago” Ayoki smiled passing by.
“God I am tiered” I rubbed my eyes again.
“Why don’t you let me give you a ride I’m about to head out anyways” Hanson said.
I took him up on his offer, and he drove me home.
“Can I ask you something” he asked staring at the road in front of him.
“Shoot.”
“You know so much about cars yet you don’t own one?” He smirked.
I let out a small chuckle.
“Yeah well I live about a twenty min walk from the chapel.
And if I ever wanted a ride somewhere I don’t live that far away from Penhall so I could always ask him for a lift”.
“From the time I’ve been here not once have I seen you and Penhall come in together”.
“Ok if I’m honest I prefer walking it helps clear my mind”.
“Sounds like a fair game” he glances over at me.
When we arrived to the front of my apartment complex I thanked him for the ride.
He stayed and made sure I got inside before taking off.
Hanson was starting to rub off on me.
***
The following day Hanson closed the case, and made an arrest turns out the janitor was the one setting up Stone.
I was at my desk cleaning out my file drawer when I notice someone sit on my desk.
Looking up I saw a smiling Hanson again.
“Hey Hanson congrats not screwing up your case” I smiled.
“Thanks…hey I got something for you” he spoke nervously.
I gave him a confused look before he pulled his hand from behind his back.
There in my sight was a single white lily.
“What’s this” I smiled.
“Well you said you didn’t remember the last time you got a flower so I took it upon myself to get you one” he smiled.
“And you got me a white lily” I took the flower from him smelling it.
“What you didn’t think I was paying attention?”.
“Well Hanson no offense but most guys don’t usually pay attention to what comes out of my mouth. But in fact are paying more attention to…well you get the idea” I laughed.
“Well I just thought you could use something nice to start your day” he smiled.
I got up and kissed him on his cheek.
“Thank you Hanson” I whispered to him.
He blushes.

Donald Duck, José Carioca (Zé Carioca) and Panchito Pistoles playing like rock musicians in 1990s outfits - Modern Three Caballeros - The Three Caballeros Month - Schemes and Community - Jose Carioca Week - My version - Tribute to a rock musician
After a long time, I finally made a drawing related to the Three Caballeros, or rather my version of the modern caballeros. I drew Donald Duck, José Zé Carioca and Panchito Pistoles in 1990s outfits playing rock music and playing as a rock band like "Rocky The Three Caballeros". More precisely here they are teenagers and adolescent college students who decided to play for their concert, and together they love rock music (part of my Quack Pack AU). Donald and Panchito play electric guitar and Ze Carioca drums. They love to sing and play rock music with each other and love many rock bands and musicians like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Scorpions, Queen and Fred McQuarrie, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Nirvana, David Bowie, The Doors, Guns N' Roses, Motörhead, Sex Pistols and many other groups. Donald is practicing to be a good singer, but he is not doing very well. They also all wear jeans and backwards baseball caps together to look more cool. Maybe that's why their nephews (Donald's and Jose's nephews) like to wear backwards caps.. ;) Yes, even though it's past I certainly wish Jose Carioca a happy birthday which is celebrated on August 24th and also a happy Brazil day which is celebrated on September 7th. Happy Brazil Day!
In addition, I dedicate this drawing to one of my favorite singers who unfortunately died this week and passed to the other world. Most of you don't know, but it's a rock singer from my country who is the founder of the group "Riblja čorba" (Fish Soup) and was one of the best Yugoslav rock groups of that time. Yes, his name is Bora Đorđević and I can only say thank you for his songs that I loved to enjoy and sing. Especially this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZAxy3FNiwU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMsPPcHkxVQ
More about Bora here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bora_%C4%90or%C4%91evi%C4%87
That's why I drew a picture of a fish bone behind the Three Caballeros since it's the symbol of that group for those who ask. Certainly thanks to Bora Đorđević and his group for everything. Rest in peace, amen.
By all means, I hope you like this drawing and this idea and feel free to like and reblog this, just don't copy these same ideas and my versions without my permission and without mentioning me. Thank you! Happy Brazil Day once again!
