There was also some thought awhile ago that why would the Organization waste resources giving the warriors actual armor when they were all basically experiments to be replaced as the process of creating warriors and Awakened Beings got refined or "perfected."
It was a human-weapons program at the end. If the entire point was to (eventually) have (some) Awakened. Why give them armor that might naturally incline them not use as much their auras? They're essentially forcing them to use their aura more frequently.
But, yeah, there is the practicality that the warriors needed more flexibility than what most of the armor would actually give.
The Claymore armor issue™

I've seen a few people complaining about the armor in Claymore and uhh while I agree with the take that the crotch line thing is weird asf (and the majority of the ghost's armor is impractical) the fact that they don't have a lot of metal armor covering them isn't a "women's armor in medieval fantasy" issue.
It's that way bc of how the warriors use their power.
I'm strictly talking about the muscle expansion that happens at 50% of power usage. Imagine if their muscles grew larger inside a metal suit of armor, it would either break (because warriors have unnatural strength) or it would hurt them by constricting their bodies and they wouldn't be able to fight.
Galatea might be one of the best examples of it bc she used it without going overboard. As you can see the material needs to be elastic to be functional.

And we've seen the few metal parts break during uncontrollable yoma power usage with Priscilla and Undine.

Also the males didn't have "proper" armor either.

There's obviously a few key differences like the lack of a cape, wide pants, covered knees and their neck is covered a bit more, but the fact that their vital organs are exposed still stands. I do wish that the author gave them the same type of armor as the women though (like the anime alluded it to being).
And also there's Raki's armor which is meant is meant to resemble the one male warriors wore. Although he does have a bit more coverage it's still not enough to be considered a proper armor, especially not with how tight his shirt it (an indicator of how thin it is).

The only people in this entire manga with proper armor are the soldiers in Rabona, but that doesn't help them much considering how easily the awakened beings rip through it.

I mean, I have to agree with this tag, "#yeah yeah ship and let ship or whatever"
But I personally think the top 3 best Rigaldo/Rigardo ships are Rigardo x Clare's Sword Rigardo x Death Rigardo x Getting his ass beat by Priscilla (you know this had to have happened) Honorable Mention goes to...
Rigardo x Isley (... I mean... I guess).
I can't believe there are people out there shipping Miria with RIGALDO... like excuse me but that's Galatea's wife right there
