OVER THE MOON EXCITED!
My son's wife called this morning w/ the stunning news they're looking to buy a new home... IN PORTLAND! They'll be here in a week & already have a real estate agent lined up for their visit.
It seems when they came to visit in February, their daughter took a shine to the city. I'm told she never liked living in the isolated splendor of the Rocky Mountains & missed the semi-urban streets in Oakland & Berkley across the Bay from San Francisco. Portland is almost entirely semi-urban w/ it's astounding combination of industrial relics & renovated Edwardian mansions w/ nearby parks, scenic vistas & short drives to the wonders of raw Nature. She even scouted out the high schools she wants to attend & their agent is tasked w/ finding them a property close to those schools.
My daughter & I are naturally ecstatic over having our beloved family members close to us. Now I must have the house clean & finish decorating this week! Deadlines are good motivators.
