Kline. https://poetryintranslation.com/PITBR/German/RilkeLetters.php#anchor_Toc58662116 'Letters to a Young Poet' is a collection of 10 letters written by poet Ranier Maria Rilke to Franz Xaver Kappus. Kappus had been seeking advice, deciding between a career in poetry, or as an officer in the army. In this letter, Rilke advises Kappus to look into himself to find his calling as an artist, and that his life may still be "fine, and broad, and full of richness" even if he forgoes the artist's path.)

Has replaced the meadows' wintry grey.
Little rivulets of water changed
Their singing accents. Tendernesses.'

I am leaving 2017 behind for I will now venture to the great unknown; 2018. I will carry with me the memories and the lessons this year had taught me. I am saying goodbye to the sorrows and heartbreaks it brought me. Thank you 2017, and the years before you, for making me wiser and stronger.
2018, I don’t know your game yet so surprise me. I am looking forward with hope to the magic that you might bring.
So, that’s it.
Welcome, 2018. You will be missed 2017.

hello darling,
how're you? i hope your days are fulfilling and rich. yet, i also want to believe you give yourself enough time to relax and recharge, both physically and mentally. i know you're a hardworker, but to be a hardworker means to give yourself enough time to get back energy spread on hard work, balance is the key.
have i told you that each september in my life feels like a start of something unknown? there's a beautiful cartoon series called "into the unknown", and i'd title each autumn of my life the same way. interestingly, people are used to view january months as fresh starts, but to my viewpoint, septembers are winning this rank of "the fresh start month". do you like autumns? today one thought is unusually persistent in my headspace. the thought of how lonely could one person feel, and does this feeling swallow other people too, or maybe it just tickles the backs of people's minds without covering them completely? see, i know each person feels it in a unique way, but how astonishing it is to know that millions are struggling inside from time to time and no one even notices it. i'd met people who felt lonely while doing their usual routine tasks, and these people had no one to share their feelings with. this is so contradictory: we live in a society and we seek understanding from a human creature, but we feel this existential loneliness that separates us from the world and we can't share it with anyone. one exceptionally pretty quote i've read, said by r.m. rilke (another RM, did you notice?): "i hold this to be the highest task of a bond between two people: that each should stand guard over the solitude of the other". i hope your solitude is kind to you. i want to finish this letter with words i've heard from a film about an artist who used to draw cats: "they’re [cats] silly and cuddly, and lonely, frightened and brave - like us". i see you more as a dog, but you could make a very, very talented cat (siamese, maybe?). so whatever cat you are right now - silly or cuddly or lonely, frightened or brave - go and make yourself some tea. keep company with your feelings. appreciate your dedication and give yourself credit.
with love, c.
