Governor Ahmed warns Buhari not to use excess crude account for 2019 campaign

Kwara state Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has told President Muhammadu Buhair, not to divert the $1billion deduction from the Excess Crude Account (ECA), to other purposes.

Ahmed stated this on Thursday in Ilorin, while speaking with reporters.

The Governor called on Buhari to maintain his integrity status and use the money for the purchase of military weapons to fight Boko Haram.

“We believe that integrity of the president as a straightforward president would come to play that the fund that is meant for security is going to be used for security purpose,” Ahmed said.

Ahmed has also written the State House of Assembly, for approval of Kwara’s share of the $1billion from the account, to be deducted.

The Governor’s letter addressed to the Speaker, Ali Ahmad and dated May 23, 2018, was read by the Deputy Speaker, Mathew Okedare at the floor of the House on Wednesday.

A non-governmental organisation (NGO), Society for Continuum of Change and Development (SCCD), has stated that its readiness to purchase a nomination form for president Muhammadu Buhari to contest for 2019 election in a bids to encourage him to continue with his good ideas. Its National Coordinator, Hajiya Bilkisu Jibrin Saulawa, disclosed this yesterday when she visited to Governor Aminu Bello Masari in Katsina. According to her, the organisation is a coalition of youth movement in Nigeria with over 20 millions data base of youth members with its headquarters in Abuja. “The sole aim of the movement is to ensure the re-election of President Muhammad Buhair and all APC candidates across the nation in the 2019 elections. “SCCD is taking the bulk by the horns in creating more awareness that change is a continuum that needs to be sustained in re-electing the present APC administration at all levels,” she said. Continuing, she said: “President Buhari is needed beyond 2019 for total restoration of the lost glory in the country adding that, Buhari is worthy and the only incorruptible president ever produced in the country. “There is no doubt that Buhari is one of the national leaders who truly and genuinely believes in Nigeria; Nigerians will continue to benefit more when President Buhari is re-elected in 2019.” Saulawa said the youth empowerment of the present APC administration “is real since many Nigerians are now becoming self-reliant, most especially those over 74,800 youth trained under the NDE across the country.” “In Katsian state alone, over 4,000 youth are presently engaged in self-reliance jobs through the NDE and some 5, 000 women have been assisted with working tools by the Governor Masari administration.” The organisation equally nominated Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State as their grand patron for his exemplary leadership and for following in the footsteps of Buhari administration.
