I crashed kinda hard after temple and then had the weirdest dreams all night long.

I dreamed there was a real ass living gnome who built a house out front of the house I was staying at like in the front yard out of a little prefab gnome house kit. And my brother was trying to sleep outside next to the gnome house just under a tarp. No sleeping bag or tent. And it was raining and the water was pooling in the tarp and I was trying to convince him to at least sleep in the hammock that was next to the gnome's house cuz he was gonna get wet sleeping on the ground.

And some witches showed up clearly up to no good so I put a ward around the house and they started the curse me so I put a death curse on anyone who trespassed so they left a bunch of cursed baby dolls in the flower beds in front of the house and like cursed ceramic knickknacks on the porch???? And the gnome was like "they must've had help cuz they were really fast when they left the cursed dolls" so I started tossing dolls into the street off the property line and breaking knickknacks.

Also had a very detailed and logical dream that I unfortunately can't remember much of that my family were conscripted to be agents of the sidhe. And we kept solving magical problems for them and ended up with like five children living with us. Were they the children changelings replaced? Were they changlings? Unclear. We just got back from solving the first magical problem and there were like three bunk beds in my childhood bedroom which definitely would not have fit three bunk beds. Woke up from that dream in the middle of the night, thought to myself, "that would make a good book" and promptly fell back asleep and dreamed about gnomes and witches.

DON'T STOP, YOU'LL DIE! Devblog #3 Procedural Level Generation

When first working on "DON'T STOP, YOU'LL DIE!" back in 2022 I always had visions of it being a roguelike, with procedural level generation, but with the brutal deadline I put on myself to release the game, it never happened... until now!

I've dabbled in a few different types of proc-gen before - the two main being a more simplified yet rigid system found in game such as The Binding of Isaac, or the walker method like Nuclear Throne. For the initial prototype, I decided to use a dungeon-like approach similar to TBoI. If you want to know more bout how that generation works, check this video! This system only took me a few days to complete, and for the purposes of a rough prototype, it worked. But I wanted more. As my level generation was fairly rigid, and not flexible AT ALL, I decided to use the "Edgar Pro Level Generation" Asset, which can achieve generation similar to Enter the Gungeon. This combines a hand crafted rooms and node graph based approach to level generation; This was the process:

BUILD THE ROOMS AND CORRIDORS:

2. CREATE THE NODE GRAPH: I also had to let the node graph what prefabs to use for the rooms and corridors

3. BOOM, PROCEDURALLY GENERATED LEVELS!

In it's current state, it's generating levels that look *very* similar, BUT this will drastically change once I add to the pool of available rooms and corridors for the generator to choose from.
