Hayley stepped out of the claw foot tub in Elijah's ensuite, soapy water dripping down her brown skin.

She picked up a white towel and wrapped it around herself, humming. Her brown hair fell in soaking curls over her collarbones.

Hayley twirled into the bedroom.

Elijah was sitting on the ledge by the window, a heavy, leatherbound book open in his arms.

The rising sun framed Elijah's outline in a faint glow, making him look like it was lit from within. He smiled at Hayley as she walked in.

"How's the book?" Hayley asked.

Elijah traced his thumb over the thick paper.

"Riveting," he responded.

Hayley raised one brow.

"Really? Because I could have sworn you're still on the same page you were before I went for my bath."

Elijah looked up, smirking. "You caught me."

He closed the book, placed it carefully on the desk and stood up.

"I simply could not focus my attention on the page. I was rather... distracted."

Hayley was unable to keep the smile off her face.

"Distracted by what?"

Elijah leaned towards Hayley, his eyes locked on her lips.

Hayley's eyes fluttered closed, heart racing.

Elijah got so close she could feel the warmth of his skin on her face. Just when Elijah's lips were millimetres from hers, he turned away at the last second.

His lips found her ear. He whispered, "You, my darling, are rather loud when you are enjoying yourself all alone in the tub."

Hayley shivered in delight. She cupped his cheek, lips aiming for his.

But Elijah zoomed out of reach at vampire speed.

He held one end of the towel that was wrapped around Hayley's body.

He whipped the towel off Hayley, leaving her naked.

"Elijah!" Hayley gasped.

Elijah lifted one brow, eyes glittering. "Oh I'm sorry, did you need this?"

Hayley reached out to grab the towel from Elijah, but he spun it out of reach.

Elijah folded the towel neatly and placed it on the bed, his eyes never leaving Hayley.

Hayley shook her head, laughing.

Elijah picked up a wet stand of Hayley's hair that was curled by her breast. He twisted it around his fingers.

Hayley gazed up at Elijah through her lashes. The humorous atmosphere between them had vanished. What remained was much more intimate.

Elijah leaned down to kiss her. This time he didn't veer off at the last minute. His mouth met hers in an open, wet kiss.

Hayley moaned into Elijah's mouth, her arms wrapping around his firm shoulders. Elijah's hands held her waist.

Just then the bedroom door swung open. It was Niklaus, holding a sleeping toddler in his arms.

Hayley and Elijah jumped apart.

Klaus took in the scene before him and smirked.

"Looks like mummy's a little... preoccupied. We'll find her later." Klaus backed out and shut the door, laughing.

Hayley turned to Elijah, crossing her arms. "You know, if I'd had a towel then I wouldn't have just given your brother the show of his life."

Elijah shrugged, pulling Hayley to his body.

"Let him look." Elijah squinted his eyes in a gentle smirk that made Hayley's knees weak.

"Now, where were we?"

Okay so I watched Boy Swallows Universe in one day and it was so good wth?? (of course, how could it not be a 10/10 with mother pheobe and daddy simon in it)
