Las Vegas, NV, is such a very happy place because of the music. I love what the city offers, including the music that it is mainly known for. I love the location in the Las Vegas Valley metropolitan area, which is the largest city within the greater Mojave Desert. It's terrific to access the Potosi Mountains and the Black Mountain. It's one of the most sought-after places to live in Nevada because of the peaceful and beautiful environmental scene. Nevada governor announces an immediate end to mask mandate
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak responds to question from a reporter during a visit to the Horizon Ridge Wellness Clinic on East Flamingo Road Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021. The visit was part of Protect Nevadas Future week of action, a statewide effort to vaccinate children ages 5 to 11 years against COVID-19 from Dec. 18 to 23.  Read more here...
I have read from the Las Vegas Sun news that the Nevada governor has announced an end to mask mandate. This announcement results from a decrease in the number of Covid 19 cases. According to his statement, it would not be compulsory to wear masks in public places, including schools and prisons. However, this directive does not apply to high-risk areas such as nursing homes and hospitals. The Nevada Gaming Control Board also gave a report to licensees to the effect that masks were not required to be worn in casinos unless a local jurisdiction requires them to do so. I am hopeful that the Covid 19 cases will subsidize and people will go back to normal life.

Rivers of London: Black Mould by Ben Aaronovitch & Andrew Cartmel. Illustrated by Lee Sullivan
Tumblr media
Series: Rivers of London Graphic Novels, Vol. 3 Read time: <1 Day Rating: 4/5
The quote: "Didn't you say it tried to cop a feel?" "Ugh. Stop talking right now." "Get it 'cop'?" "Actually I preferred the horrific sexual suggestion to the terrible puns." "Fair enough." — Peter Grant & Sahra Guleed
Once again I didn't see where this was going but there is a logical path of events when it is revealed. Having two POC main characters comes into play, especially Peter. I maintain the colouring in this series may be one of my favourite things. It's smart and tells its own story. There is a lot of range in the colouring, from the purples of the night scene to the black fuzz of the mould to the trance of Maksim's moment to the naturals of the day scenes. It all feels right. We meet Tonya, a pest control expert who deals with the supernatural and Dominic one of Peter's former partners (I think, I didn't get the language). Which raises something else I noticed over time. Nearly everyone in Peter's circle is somewhat supernatural. Dominic speaks to animals, well we see him speak to an animal (an adorable fox), but that isn't pointed out in the main story.
I respect any series that is willing to refer back to a previous volume. Black Mould openly references Body Work, not just through the continued inclusion of Tom but the cursed car is still around. Molly, Molly, Molly. I've never been so tanksful for Molly and her knife skills, but man oh man I would never want to get on the wrong side of her. Watching Beverley's boy toy get lost in his own head is a thing to see. The art at that moment was a fantastic choice. On Beverley when all the characters are reintroduced at the start caption is "River goddess and Peter's girlfriend, although she'd probably say Peter was her boyfriend. Can make me behave in strange ways.". I like Molly's too "Maid. Makes dreadful sandwiches, but handy with a blade. Considered spooky.". Sahra's makes me smile "Regular cop and self-professed Muslim ninja. Found herself roped into all this Falcon nonsense. Outranks Peter; although in matters of the supernatural, defers to him - but never say that to her face."
It's taken me this long to realise why the humour is so on point. It is varied. It varies between characters, on their demographics and personalities. Like Molly's humour comes from her fierceness and her actions and what she does with Toby. And the slight anxiety she causes in people (specifically Tom). Nightingale's is drier. And Toby is the almost comic relief in a way. He communicates but in an unexpected way.
There are a number of great musical references in Black Mould I'm not going to say the context because why ruin the fun. I just noticed how many of them there were. • Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus • Bat Out of Hell by Meat Loaf • Eve of Destruction by Barry McGuire • Saturday Night's Alright by Elton John • Spoilin' for a Fight by AC/DC • Highway to Hell by AC/AC • Fought the Law by The Clash
Okay finally. This one provides a recommended reading list for the entire Rivers of London canon. I am reading just the graphic novels, they do stand alone well enough. Aaronovitch does introduce characters as needed and reminds people who is who occasionally. • Rivers of London/ Midnight Right (Novel 1) • Moon Over Soho (N 2) • Whispers Under Ground (N 3) • Broken Homes (N 4) • Body Work (Graphic Novel 1) • Foxglove Summer (N 5) • Night Witch (GN 2) • The Hanging Tree (N 6) • Black Mould (GN 3) • The Furthest Station (Novella 1) • Detective Stories (GN 4)

How to Protect Your Lawn From Deer
Tumblr media
Whether you live in a peaceful country setting or on the outskirts of a city, you may have deer visit your lawn. Unfortunately, if you have a garden or various flowers planted in your yard, there’s a good chance the deer will go from occasional visitors to regular guests. If this happens, your lawn and its plants will be damaged or destroyed.
While deer are nice to look at, it’s best to keep them off your lawn. If you’re experiencing a deer problem (as many in New Jersey do), here are five ways we here at Dirt & Turf suggest you can help protect your lawn from deer.
Have a Minimum of Deer’s Favorite Plants
Deer will come to your yard if you have the plants they love. So, we recommend you try to stay away from growing large amounts of plants like English ivy, pansies, various types of lettuce, and beans. If you don’t, you’re likely to not only have anything left in your garden or flower beds but a lawn that is severely damaged by deer. Should this happen, the experts here at Dirt & Turf can work with you on implementing lawn treatment services, such as treating your lawn with various types of fertilizer at different times of the year to get it back in top condition.
Rely on Prickly Foliage
Since deer don’t like plants of certain textures, use this lawn care technique to your advantage by planting prickly foliage, such as barberries and lamb’s ear, near the areas where you know deer are entering your yard. By doing so, they should get discouraged after a few bites and move on.
Keep Your Lawn in Great Shape
If you have a lawn where tall grass is a common occurrence, this acts as an open invitation to nearby deer. By eliminating this temptation, deer can get easily discouraged. To ensure your lawn stays in great shape so that deer look elsewhere for their meal, Dirt & Turf can perform regular lawn care services for your New Jersey property.
Have a Natural Barrier to Your Lawn
If you plant rows of large hedges such as boxwoods around the perimeter of your yard, deer likely won’t be able to see what’s on the other side and will be hesitant to jump over into the unknown.
Use Pet and People-Safe Repellents
When deciding on lawn pest control that will deter deer, always select those that are pet- and people-safe. While there are many deer repellents on the market, you may have questions about which ones are best. If you do, contact us at Dirt & Turf to discuss various lawn pest control methods and how our lawn treatment services can protect your lawn from deer.
Rather than trying out various lawn care companies to no avail, we invite you to contact our professional team at Dirt & Turf. Should you need turf care in Tinton Falls, Middlesex, Toms River, or Middletown, call us at 800-645-0814.
