Certainly an odd way to announce yourself, and a tiny little snowman in a big hat calling from a endearingly-crooked snow-fort is probably not a cause for caution...though there are ice figures dotted around; snow-squirrels and snow-bunnies, acting as eerie sentries.

He’s sure he’s not seen this dragon before; he’s too green, eugh, even greener than the show-boater who ruins all his games! And he doesn’t know what he’s got with him, some skinny elf creature!

But they’re here, so now they have to play!

One of Eddie’s favorite parts of raising kids with Steve is watching the little ways their three daughters become like them.

(Secretly, Eddie hopes they take after Steve more in the end – not because he has anything against himself, obviously, but because he loves Steve so fucking much, so how could he not want three more running circles around him just like Steve does?).

Luckily, that seems to be the way things are going.

Like how he’d once walked into the living room to see Robbie and Hazel tag-teaming a puzzle of a coral reef, and Hazel had looked up at him with a pout on her face and said, “Daddy, Robbie’s cheating.”

Eddie: *blinks*

Eddie: You’re doing a puzzle.

Hazel: She’s hiding pieces so she gets to do all the best parts.”

And that – that’s all Steve.

Eddie: Ah, yes. That, Hazy-Jay, is called bogarting, and she learned it from Papa.

A few years later, Eddie saw it again when he was sitting at one of Moe’s varsity basketball games. Moe had just been rotated off the court, but instead of sitting on the bench with the rest of her team, she was on her feet and clearly trying to engage with the referee.

Eddie: What’s she doing?

Steve, rolling his eyes: She’s instigating, is what she’s doing.

Eddie: Say more please.

Steve: The other team is pissed at a call the ref just made, and Moe noticed, so she’s trying to get the ref on her side by telling him not to take shit from them

Steve: Probably in the hopes that he’ll ignore the shit she’s gonna pull the second she’s back on the court.

Steve: Don't know where she got that idea from.

Eddie: *snort*

Eddie: Sure you don't, Stevie.

Miguel with a reader who is the polar opposite of him?? Like he’s all dark and broody and serious and reader’s just like “okay lol I made cookies!” Him trying to pretend to be annoyed by reader but ends up failing when reader huge him? He would cease to function watch me OOC is the best kind :3

As much as Miguel complains about you distracting him from saving the multiverse, he never actually does anything about you unlike other spiders that might hit a nerve. If you point his 'acception' out he'll actually push you out of his monitor filled room after denying any comment you made with record speed, even Layla gets snapped at when daring to laugh at the scene

There will be times where you genuinely begin to think Miguel wants nothing to do with how you behave, how he's so distant and reserved, only having deeper conversations when you ease him into it, begin to think maybe you shouldn't be bothering him anymore. Watch his attention to detail crumble cause he doesn't have his buddy by his side, Layla will tease him about it consistently until Miguel finally goes out of his way to search for you, needing your company to continue with his work

The most stone hearted spiderman can be completely corroded, unbenounced to him of course. Miguel wouldn't even notice it happening when you get all giddy, seeing him coming after you gladly throwing yourself in his arms, everyone else can though.

God can use the situations in the past to make us wiser and stronger. Let us not allow our past to render us powerless, but rather let us give our past to God and thank Him for the lessons learned. We are to run forward, pressing on to what God has prepared ahead for us. Jesus has a plan for each of us. Don’t become entangled in what has happened behind you. Seek His help in overcoming the grip the past has on your life. 

Allowing our mind to replay old tapes over and over again can stifle us and rob us of our ability to move forward. We must forget the past and concentrate on what God has ahead of us.

Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 3:14)

The summer heat has been with them for some time now, the coastline baking in humidity.

It's the early morning when Garnet walks into Rose's room, where she and Pearl are. Pearl is laying back across Rose's lap, laughing as she tells some story that Pearl isn't even listening to, and the room plays it out around them.

❝I've found one,❞ Garnet says, and Pearl sits bolt upright, her fingers raking through the clouds as she shifts off of Rose's lap, looking expectantly at Garnet.

❝Found one what?❞ Rose asks, and Pearl shoots her a look. There's only one thing that Garnet could be referring to, talking about it like that.

❝A portal to Valor and Flicker's home.❞ She pauses, and looks towards Pearl. ❝Sort of.❞

Pearl stands up slowly. ❝What do you mean sort of?❞

❝Their family isn't there. The one I've found will last about a day and a half, and it goes to their world, but they are also out of time. I see that there could be trouble if they went in unprepared, so we would have to warn them.❞ She frowns. ❝They would be happier going back to that world; no worry over witch hunters and life around them that they're more familiar with.❞

Pearl isn't expecting the painful jolt in her chest at those words. She wants the two of them to get home; she does, and if they would be happier there, even without their family-

❝Oh, well, I'm glad we were able to help them!❞ Rose chirps, jumping to her feet and putting an arm around Pearl's shoulders. ❝It'll be a shame to see them go; they've been such a delight to have around.❞

❝They're both so young! Especially Flicker! They shouldn't be on their own!❞ Pearl blurts out, and Garnet chuckles.

❝I also saw that reaction. Go pack; you'll get a stable portal eventually.❞

Pearl squeaks, and shoots an anxious look towards Rose, who's started giggling.

❝Go! Go!❞

Pearl doesn't need told thrice, darting to the passage to her room.

❝She's acting like a Mom to Flicker, right? Or am I crazy?❞ Rose says the moment she's out of the room.

❝Not crazy. Go tell them; I'll wait at the Warp Pad.❞

❝How long will she be gone?❞ Rose nods towards the passage to Pearl's room. ❝Not too long, I hope? You know how she gets when left to her own devices.❞

❝Not too long. She'll be fine.❞

Rose nods, and takes off out of the Temple and towards the burrow on the other side of the cliff.

❝Guess what!❞ She says excitedly to the pair. ❝We have a portal!! Garnet found one!❞
