3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic

I start with an untidy mess of bullet points, brainstormed bits that I'd like to be part of the story. then I write out my beat note draft, covering the basics of the plot and emotional development and etc etc through to the end. then I use the outline as a consulting document as I write, expanding as needed. when the whole thing is written, I divide the story into chapters and edit one chapter per week, as I upload.

17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

Walking outside helps. Get a load of that low CO2 ppm. I might take a night off, or devote the usual writing time to brainstorming instead of writing. I don't get writers' block much, though, knock on wood. I agree with the idea that you can't rely on motivation to write. motivation is nice, but discipline is what gets stuff written. 1 hr per day. I set a timer.

Chapter 25: Reason

With Kenma being in the other room due to his negligence for his work, you were left alone in the living room scrolling through your phone. 

The combination of all sorts of emotions going on wasn't going to do the blond in the other room good when you saw the post that the game was going to get released soon.

A gasp escaped your mouth when you saw the post. You felt ecstatic about your game being released, then sentimental that the game you and your crew worked hard on was finally done, then depressed that your done with your break and now had to be enslaved to continuing your unfinished mangas.You were emotional, your lips trembled at the thought you had to leave Kenma and go back to sleepless nights alone while drawing 24/7. A sob escaped your mouth as you whined.

"Kenmaaaaa!" You cried.

Panicked, he ran out of the room, "Are you ok?" He asked seeing how you were crying at your seat, your phone on the ground.

Like a child asking to picked up you extended your arms opening and closed your hands. "Kenmaaa..."

"I was about to stream..." He sighed pinching the bridge of his nose. But seeing your drenched face he knew you won't shut up unless he does what you want so he gave up on that thought.

The moment he came close you, you clung to him like a koala. 

He turned to where you sat and it confirmed his suspicion on why you're an emotional baby. "I'll have to get rid of that somehow. And you have to clean up. Go to the bathroom, I'll swing by the convenience store."  

The lazy boy promised to clean the couch tomorrow so he went in front of the bathroom door and knocked.

“I didn’t know which you use so I just got one of each. I’ll leave them here I’ll be in the recording room if you’re done.”

A muffled call of his name came from the bathroom.

“Yeah?”

”Thank you.”

Kenma was taken a back and gave a ghost smile that the girl didn’t see. “Whatever.” Not that he’d admit.

Just as he said, he went to the recording room and booted the PPM. He was now debating whether to stream the gameplay or should he just play on his own.

Which was kinda answered when Y/N in new bottoms, went in and sat on Kenma’s lap putting each her legs on the sides whilst burying her face on the boy’s chest.

Ever since she decided to not leave after her injury, Kenma had changed his chair to an office one since she often does this and the gamer chair didn’t have any space for her legs to be on Kenma’s sides.

“Didn’t I say I was going to stream?” 

Not answering and only squeezing him, Kenma answered the question he had. He played the game while she did whatever she wanted without moving from her spot, which was tracing the wrinkles on his shirt and occasionally looking at his game.

“I’ll be busy after the game.” She finally said.

“Hmm?” 

“I have 2 manga ongoing. Both was put on hold until I finish the game. And now the game’s done, I’ll be busy.”

“Are you telling me not to send the report on the game so you don’t have to finish your manga?”

She shook her head, “No, it’s just... when the game is done, I’ll be busy and we won’t see each other anymore.” She paused, “We won’t have any reason to see each other, have time to see each other...”

“Why?”

“What do you mean why?” She asked finally lifting her head.

Kenma paused his game looked at the girl on his lap. “Why won’t we have any reason?”

“We’re only together because of the game...”

“Who says?” Not waiting for her reply he continued, “What made you think I let you stay here because of the game? Are you stupid?”

“W-Why do you let me stay then?”

“...You are an idiot. I forgot. I’m pretty sure I’ve made my feeling quite clear.”

A blush was now forming on the girl’s cheeks but she didn’t hide it. She looked at Kenma straight in the eyes. Neither talking nor moving, they just stared at each other.

“Ahhh!” You were the first one to break eye contact. “Fuck it!!” Of course you were also the first one to act on the tension between you and pulled him in for a kiss.

He almost immediately moved his hand to your nape and lower back to pull you closer. Your hands were playing with Kenma’s hair.

“You know I hate verbally saying how I feel unless it’s a negative one... but... yeah, I like you now...”

A squeak came from you as you practically bash your face on his chest.

“That’s a not romantic way to ask someone. I hate it but I really like you so it cancels out.”

“Well, how am I supposed to ask you out?”

“I-I don’t know! Ask google!!! Don’t be dull!”

“Can’t I just ask you now? There’ll be no difference.”

“I want it before the game’s out!” You yelled at his chest. “You better make it really cute or something...” 

“You’re really troublesome...” Kenma sighed then ran his fingers through your hair. “Fine. I’ll think of something before the release.”

Nearly five years after the negotiation of the landmark Paris agreement to limit greenhouse gas emissions and associated global warming to “well below 2.0C above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5C”, we are experiencing drastically accelerating warming. 2020 was the second warmest year on record, following the record-setting 2019. Carbon in the atmosphere reached 417 parts per million (ppm) – the highest in the last 3m years. Even if we magically flipped a switch to a fully green economy tomorrow, there is still enough carbon in the atmosphere to continue warming the planet for decades.

The science is clear: without drastic action to limit temperature rise below 1.5C, the Earth, and all life on it, including all human beings, will suffer devastating consequences.

Yet only two countries – Morocco and the Gambia – are on track to meet the 1.5C target. The largest emitters, including the United States, China, Russia and Saudi Arabia, are putting the world on course for 4C. At that rate, the polar ice caps will melt, causing dramatic sea level rise that will – in combination with other devastating effects like strengthening storms and droughts – cause mass famine, displacement and extinction.

Currently, much of humanity feels hopeless, but the establishment of ecocide as a crime offers something for people to get behind. Enacting laws against ecocide, as is under consideration in a growing number of jurisdictions, offers a way to correct the shortcomings of the Paris agreement. Whereas Paris lacks sufficient ambition, transparency and accountability, the criminalization of ecocide would be an enforceable deterrent. Outlawing ecocide would also address a key root cause of global climate change: the widespread destruction of nature, which, in addition to increasing greenhouse gas emissions, has devastating impacts on global health, food and water security, and sustainable development – to name a few.

Ecocide shares its roots with other landmark concepts in international law, including genocide. Indeed, ecocide and genocide often go hand in hand. Around the globe, ecological destruction is also decimating indigenous communities. To give just a few cases: Brazil’s Yanomami are facing mercury poisoning generated by the 20,000 illegal miners in their territories. 87% of Native Alaskan villages are experiencing climate-related erosion, even as they face growing calls to drill on their lands.

The Stop Ecocide Foundation has recently convened a panel of heavyweight international lawyers to draft a robust legal definition of ecocide which this growing list of states can seriously consider proposing as an amendment to the ICC’s Rome Statute.

Unfortunately, under cover of Covid-19, ecocide has accelerated. Deforestation in the Amazon basin increased by 50% in the first quarter of 2020, with rampant fires reaching a 13-year high in June.

In the midst of a global pandemic that demonstrates humanity’s shared vulnerability – and our need to work together collectively in the face of crisis – we must begin to understand that what we do to our ecosystems, we do to ourselves.
