Colored Gaze Theory: Zachary Has a Mental Disorder.

WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT ROMANTICIZE ANY BEHAVIOR I TALK ABOUT IN THIS THEORY. IT IS NOT HEALTHY AND YOU SHOULD SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW SHOWS SYPMTOMS.

Theory begins under cut:

Does anybody else find it kind of strange that the dev is so open about Zachary being the "worst" LI and showing his bad side?

The whole point of Colored Gaze is to find out the LI's true "colors" and so far Seth and Simon haven't shown their true ones in tumblr/CC asks unless it's a little lore hint here and there. We all assume that Zachary is the most dangerous but what if it's the exact opposite? After all, Zachary is the only LI I couldn't see killing MC.

"Oh but Zachary's basically been the most of a bitch from what we have seen on the tumblr/cc so far!" But what if that's what the dev is trying to make us think just so that they can throw a curveball at us and catch us off guard?

In a past theory I had mentioned that on the C.C that Zachary has depression, but I’m now realizing that it probably meant that Zachary needed to see a therapist and I’ve figured out why.

Zachary has Borderline Personality Disorder.

As crazy as I may sound, it actually makes a lot of sense. Lets also think about how it's been said that Zach’s parents were never really “involved” with his life so if he did show any symptoms of a mental disorder at a young age his parents never would have known and brushed it off.

“Zachary... hmmm.... despite having a 'perfectly' normal childhood with his parents supporting what he wants to do and capability to do pretty much anything... his parents weren't really super involved with him deeply. Like, they kind of lack major presence or never really had a deep connection with him, they're just 'child and parent'.”

Comparing Zachary’s behavior to BPD.

Symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder:

"Bold – Impulsivity is a BPD trait that can be positively linked to being bold, courageous and having the ability to speak one's mind. Creative – The high intensity of emotions can be released into creative endeavors. Many people with BPD put their entire emotional expression into music, art, performance and writing."

Now correct me if I’m wrong, (and I very well might be) but Zachary’s interest with photography could fit into the creative endeavors part.

He's also very bold with his flirting as we see in the demo whenever he kisses MC's hand within the first 3 minutes of knowing them.

"individuals with borderline personality disorders can also love intensely, although somewhat erratically and egocentrically."

“Relationship problems: People with BPD often have intense, tumultuous relationships with others. They may “fall hard” when they meet new people, putting them on pedestals. Their loved ones may describe them as overly needy or clingy.”

For some context for people that haven't listened to Zachary’s playlist; Most of the songs do include lyrics about a very strong love and loving intensely so I believe this fits him.

“Depending on symptom manifestations, both men and women diagnosed with BPD may experience promiscuity, impulsive sexual behavior, hypersexuality, or sex avoidance. These sexual changes may also affect the ability to maintain healthy and stable relationships.”

“One of the hallmarks of BPD is impulsivity, which can manifest as engaging in risky behaviors, including reckless sexual activity. Hypersexuality can be a coping mechanism for individuals with BPD as they try to fill an emotional void or deal with intense emotions.”

Now I think we all now that Zachary is a horny bastard which is what made me look into this being one of the symptoms of BPD in the first place. It could very much explain why he’s so horny. But it makes more sense when you understand that he somewhat cannot control feeling that way now that we know he’s not just being horny just to be horny but it's because he’s more than likely hypersexual.

“Romantic fantasization is a common feature of borderline personality disorder (BPD). The unpredictable emotional state associated with borderline personality disorder can cause confusing fluctuations in how borderlines view their romantic partners.”

This could also explain a lot of things about Zachary like why he wants kids with MC so badly, why he’s so “persistent” about being with/marrying MC.

I also found another article basically talking about why some people are attracted to people with BPD and I’m going to put another disclaimer that this type of behavior is not healthy. I am not encouraging or romanticizing it so please don’t either.

“They're easily seduced by the borderline's extreme openness, charm, and vulnerability. In addition, the borderline's passion and intense emotions are enlivening to non-BPDs, who find being alone depressing or “healthy” people boring.”

“A person with impulsive borderline personality disorder often displays the following signs and symptoms of the subtype: Flirtatious with others, sometimes without even realizing it. Captivating, able to act with a natural magnetism. Elusive and mercurial.”

Correct me if I’m wrong but this somewhat explains Zachary to a T. Albeit he only flirts with MC but it has been said that even when he was in school and on valentines day he would get alot of cards and gifts and such because of how he attracted people. I’m pretty sure in past posts its mentioned that Zachary has a “charm” too, along with his parents raising him to be a gentleman. I’ve talked about how him being raised that way may have affected him in a past theory/shitpost too which I will put here:

Me: Zachary probably has years of repressed sexual desire because of how he was raised to be gentlemen and thats why he's such a freak (horny) all the time and I can only imagine how the standards he had to meet of being a "gentleman" affected him mentally considering its been stated that Zachary hasn't felt love before MC and that he himself probably holds himself up to impossibly high standards which in way is shown by him being a perfectionist and thats probably why he's depressed-

This changes everything. We’ve always assumed that Zachary is the yandere because of his behavior that the dev is suspiciously open about. Zachary isn't the yandere, he is mentally ill.

Once again I just find it very suspicious that it's so obvious that Zachary is the "yandere". There's also a song on Zachary's playlist called Borderline too which is what made me think about this in the first place.

There's also a couple other disorders I could tie to Zachary too.

Now the second one has only recently been recognized as a mental disorder by professionals so I doubt it may be OLD. (hehehehe get it? Cause Zachary's old- I’ll shut up now.)

Now somebody brought up Zachary possibly OCD to me because of how clean he is and how he wants everything to go his way. However, the "wanting everything to go his way." Could also tie into him having BPD and the cleaning part I have to remind them that OCD doesn't stand for Obsessive Cleaning Disorder smh.

Now this post is already long af so I'm going to stop it right here. I've tried to provide as much sources as I could so that people won't be asking clrdgaze blog where I got it from. Sorry if I bother you, but I really love your gif sets! Do you know some tutorials or, app, or anything, to learn how to make good gif? I am learning and I feel very stupid because all my gifs are shit. (if my ask is inappropriate or anything, please ignore me)

you're not bothering and none of this is inappropriate, you're more than welcome in my inbox! as for your questions, let's see what i can do.

1) tutorials — i've been doing this for long enough that i don't really have much to recommend here, the only tutorials i use nowadays are all about specific things and not how to make gifs as a whole. that being said i've linked this one before, i personally do some things differently but it's a very good tutorial, well-received by gifmakers who are just starting and well written, from what i've skimmed through.

another good post to look through is this one, not a gifmaking tutorial per se but it goes into sizes, sharpening, and how to get neat & clear gifs. two of the main points are A) while you can get away with making gifs out of a 720p quality video, 1080p is what is usually recommended. you could use 4k as well, but a 1080p video is usually easier to find, will take less space in your storage, and will give you really good results already. no need for overkill <3 as for B) size matters here on tumblr dot com, mostly width. the op of the post linked in this paragraph has included a nice graphic for the size limits for gifs, you can refer to it as you make your gifs so that whatever you make won't turn out pixelated once you upload it to tumblr.

2) software — you mentioned app, if by app you mean mobile stuff then i'm sorry, i can't help you! i've never made gifs through mobile and i wouldn't even know which direction to point towards for you to find more information. as for computers, if you mean programs then these are what i use to make my gifs: potplayer (for taking screencaps) and photoshop cc 2020 (for making the actual gifs, this is the post i used but here's one with more links)

now i'd like to mention something my grandma always used to say: no one is born learned. you're not stupid just because it's taking you a while to do something, learning is a process and everyone has their own pace. i've been making gifs for a decade now and i know there are things i could do better! i'm also still learning, i make plenty of "shit" gifs before stumbling my way to something i am okay with posting, and sometimes i'm really proud of what i've made and other times i think it's just "good enough". i understand feeling disheartened but please do not feel stupid about any of this!

3) tips — we've mentioned video quality, sharpening, and sizing. what else, what else. personally i would start simple (and i did, way back when, and still do!! most of my gifs are quite simple). so: cropping/resizing + coloring + sharpening. it'll help get the basics down and then you'll have a good foundation for everything else you might want to learn. i mentioned in another ask, almost two years ago now lmao, that i used to download other people's free psds (that is, pre-made settings and layers to color your gifs) and instead of using them i would open them up and pick them apart to see how people were coloring things, which layers they used, in which order, stuff like that.

remember: there is no right or wrong to do this! you could ask ten different people how they make their gifs, and their preferences for any specific part of the process, and you'd get ten different answers. if you find a tutorial and don't vibe with it, throw that aside and look for another. pick and choose, find what works for you and what doesn't! and that means do not be afraid to experiment and try things out.

also, don't like photoshop? no problem! i started with gimp, now personally i wouldn't recommend it over ps but it's a good program, it taught me a lot, and there's really nothing to hate about it. it might have less functions than ps though, and already a decade ago there weren't that many tutorials/resources for it.

don't like photoshop AND don't want to download a program? try photopea, i haven't used it but it works directly from your browser and it should do everything photoshop does!

Hello! I’ve been digging around your oc lore and I’m curious, Is Nate gonna be ok? I can’t imagine very slowly being infected by something incurable is all too good for the system, mentally or physically. Does CC notice at all? Does anyone?

Also, I can’t imagine The Conductor is going to be too happy when CC brings his human guardian to the manor one day. I can only imagine that would be, at the very least, very awkward for everyone involved. Like a kid brings over their stepdad to meet their other dad who hates the other. (Although, that presumes any interaction would happen in the first place, which it might not given Nate's schedules, but I thought it was a funny thought, but also ignore me if this is cringe as I don’t know them well enough)

Any other notable oc interactions? I still wonder what early Naava lore is like. (I still think it’s so cool that it grows usnea, especially since usnea is a valuable medicinal herb great for being a natural bandaid, and idk that feels pretty in line with Naava’s whole deal.)

Lastly, just a quick ty for the little comments/support on Vela’s post :) <3 I hope they can be friends with your ocs… or uh, (looks at Vultur trading lives for a cookie) some of them. They would love Naava, but I can’t imagine their getup is particularly approachable looking to brackens, least of all one that does not like humans to begin with.

Hii! Yippee! Thank you for the questions! Nathaniel keeps things hidden well very much on purpose. He doesn't want to bother others with the concern of his illness or for them to pity him because of it. Copycat has seen what is going on with his body but doesn't understand the gravity of the situation since Nate hasn't explained it to him. He's stubborn and resilient so regardless of what his fate will end up being, he won't give up without putting up a fight. He's determined to find a cure. Whether he will survive or not-- well. Ahahah! Next question! (I will be drawing or writing something relating to it later, so you will find out eventually!) Naava has met Nate but only watches him from a distance whenever he interacts with CC. They don't want to go close, and somewhat respect CC's decision to be friendly with the human. As long as the human is friendly too, it's fine. They will be watching closely regardless. Just in case. If something goes wrong, they won't hesitate to run in and end his life. Conductor has in fact also met Nate. It does not like him but lets him be because Naava wishes so. Might have tried to fight the poor guy once and got scolded by the Bracken afterward. So now whenever Nate visits the interior of the Moon he usually gets to go about his business in peace. Not that he's there any longer than he needs to be. 30 minutes at most. Conductor will still very much throw nasty glares at the medic whenever it ends up running into him, though. Copycat likes just about anyone and anything that he can interact with without blowing up. If it isn't actively hurting or threatening him? Friend! Someone he hasn't seen before? Friend! Funny looking plant? You guessed it, friend! Gets along with others easily, though human employees are understandably sometimes a bit off-put by him. What comes to other interactions, I will be putting them under a read more so this post doesn't become too long! There is a lot!

Carmine is still dealing with the traumatic loss of his crew, but he is learning to love and find joy again.

He is in a much better place now. At first he was very timid and unsure but warmed up to the others quickly. He's a scaredly cat, even more so than CC, but will grab his shovel and defend his friends if he has to. He also gets along great with Nate. He feels calm around him and is grateful that there is someone who can guide them through scary situations without faltering. It's still hard for them to be around CC, but he's taking his time and slowly getting used to the energetic Masked who keeps bringing him plastic fish. He thinks it's cute, even if the mask still startles him from time to time. Has seen Naava once. Got so startled he ran away screaming. Naava didn't chase him. None of the Brackens he runs into do. They can probably tell how scared he is and leave the poor man be. Or perhaps they can sense something else. The waters of Gordion do have a distinct scent of death, after all.

Nate and Vultur dislike each other. They have history and very opposing views on their research. CC doesn't know why they don't get along but can sense the tension between them and has learned that Vultur is one of those people he shouldn't get close to. Something about the way they stare at him through the helmet's visor is enough to send shivers down his spine.

Paradox is a name I haven't mentioned in a while, but her interactions with the others are very limited and not kind. The Jester sleeps and is usually dormant for long durations at a time. It wakes up during eclipses and that is a dangerous time for everyone on the Moon. While Paradox isn't that interested in eating Brackens or Nutcrackers, Masked have a similar scent and taste to that of human employees. So. You can probably see where this is going. Both Naava and Conductor are on high alert during this time, making sure to keep a very close eye on CC. It would be preferred that the little Masked wouldn't even be on the moon during that time, but it can't always be prevented. They've had few encounters with the hungry Jester. She's not one to listen during her hunt, so the best they can do is to hold her back or find something else to feed her. Once it's full, Paradox will sink back inside the box and sleep until the next eclipse arrives. She has a neutral opinion of others (everyone is mice to it) but is a lot more docile after it has eaten.

Also I am so happy you noticed the neat little usnea thing! It is intentional and Naava often uses it to aid their injured friends. The specific kind that grows on them is not only an antiseptic but also an anesthetic. Correctly applied, it can stop the bleeding of most wounds and quicken the recovery process. It can't do miracles though, so if someone is too far gone there is only so much Naava can do to help. Their past is still a bit of an unknown territory for most of the creatures, but they do know it came from the earth itself. Naava often talks about the importance of being kind to others, because in the end, the earth will swallow them all. And in the belly of the earth, nobody is anything and everyone is everything. None of them understand what they mean but in time… I'm sure they will find out :)

And aaa of course! Vela is so delightful! I'd love for them to meet some of my babies! While Naava is naturally cautious of humans and would definitely find the eyes on the helmet a bit threatening, they're a lot softer on people who are anxious, in distress, and/or considerate of others. So I think Vela would be safe! Nate and CC are usually the friendliest toward pretty much anyone and anything. Carmine is timid and it takes him time to get used to new people but I'm sure he'd love to have a new friend as well! And well, the questionable experiments and dissecting aside, Vultur does have a softer side to them. It's just very hard to get through their shell. They've lost a lot and openly caring about others is a type of vulnerability they try to avoid in fear of losing something they love again. They do like doing embroidery on the suits of their crew though so there is something in common with them!

And like, even if characters wouldn't technically get along it's always possible to think of silly interactions with them! It's a lot of fun! Always feel free to drop by my messages if you want to chat about them more!

Try #2 wording the Hunger AU questions I want to ask, let's see if this one also ends up with me giving up and giving tidbits instead. XD

The quick, TL;DR version: I'm curious about the characters' backstories before fic's canon/Hermitcraft canon.

The very long version: MCYT fandom is in this weird ambiguous area where you *technically* have access to a lot of info from the content creators' IRL lives and their past SMPs/Let's Plays/etc, but how much of that factors into any one fic's canon changes depending on the author. Each author has different levels of how much "canon" (SMPs, Let's Plays, etc) they've had time to watch, how familiar they are with IRL stuff, how comfortable they are incorporating IRL stuff into their fic, whether everyone is a basic player or whether you have players who are avians or vexes etc., or a variety of other things. Each fanfic author has their own version of canon, and none of them are really wrong, because canon itself is kind of fluid.

Originally, I started asking a bunch of little questions (Are Scott and Jimmy exes? Does Grian still have a biology degree, or something like it? Is Scar still afraid of snakes (and if so, does that fear of snakes also mean a fear of worms)? How close were Grian and Mumbo pre-Hermitcraft (because fanfic and IRL episodes seem to often have different opinions on that)? Does Pearl still turn things upside down if they're in a virtual world where Australia presumably doesn't exist?) However, as I was looking at these questions, I realized it wasn't so much that I wanted like concrete answers to each one, so much as like ... I wanted more of an idea about the characters backstories. Right now, we're very much in Grian's head, and he's not exactly in a good enough headspace to be thinking that much about his own pre-Watcher past, much less anyone else's past. I assume it will be awhile until the fic gets into a place where we can find out some of this info without it feeling awkwardly jammed in, so I just kind of want a better idea of where each character (or at least, Grian + Grian Retrieval Squad) is coming from.

Like, you mentioned all Hermits except for Joe and TFC were spawned, not born, but as examples to show what I mean: how old were Grian & co when they spawned? Did they spawn in a single player world (which I think is implied from how you said single player worlds are formed around players, correct me if I'm wrong) or a multiplayer world? Did they have anything like caregivers/guardians/non-blood-related family when they were younger? What was their first multiplayer experience like, and how'd they find Hermitcraft? What education did they have? What led them to becoming redstoners (Tango and Mumbo), builders (Grian, Scar, and Pearl), or admin (Xisuma)? How did Grian meet Mumbo and/or Pearl? (Reminder, these are just examples of the type of info I'm curious about, not looking for each one to be answered specifically.)

So yeah, basically, not really any specific questions so much as "character backstory info please? *puppy dog eyes*"

OHHH MAN i will fully admit i havent done a ton of research into cc histories and previous smps etc etc-- i know some stuff thru fandom osmosis, but i dont know a lot of details (hence why i find your tidbits really neat!!!!!) and so unfortunately i dont have,,, the most detailed or even semi-detailed answers for this rn 😭😭😭😭😭

I can however offer that i do tend to sorta cherrypick and meld some irl cc stuff with the characters sometimes as almost easter eggs??? So like with the Mumbo and Grian stuff, i'd want to sorta glance at the dates on those irl eps vs the dates of the Evo eps and base backstory stuff of that!!! Basically in short, i'd need to actually do a bit more research and figure out how i want to incorporate things before fully committing to anything just yet!!! Im sorry i dont have a better answer for you 😭😭😭💀💀💀💀

SFW Only! NSFW DNI! I don't mind 18+ blogs as long as you're SFW. This is NOT a kink or NSFW blog so if that's what you're looking for, you're in the wrong place.

Feel free to let me know if there is anything specific that you don't want me to include in roleplays!

Don't involve tools, stocks, and machines. The only things I will allow are feathers, the use of extra body parts (wings, tails, etc), and pinning. Being restrained, the furthest I'll go is being tied with rope, ONLY if it's an interrogation situation.

I can write feet tkls in fics, but when it comes to roleplay, I want to and am only comfortable being on the receiving end. I don't want to be on the giving end.

I won't be writing anything romantic between characters (*Cough* Quackity is an exception..), I don't mind flirting and teasing in general as long as it's platonic and simply jokes, and they're close friends, nothing explicit though.

OCs are fine but interact with caution /lh. Since I don't know what kind of relationship your OC has with anyone, by default it'll be the first time actually meeting in person (i.e. having previously heard about said person but never actually seeing them) unless we've discussed this beforehand.

Please don't rush me to respond to anything! I promise you I haven't forgotten, and if I ever wanna refuse I will let you know. You can remind me every few days if I haven't responded. DON'T bring it up to my main please. /lh

My interpretation of each of the Bursonas might be different from what you normally would see, just a little heads up!

Below the cut are headcanons! The headcanons are long and consist of multiple paragraphs so if you get easily overwhelmed by lots of words or paragraphs, you don't have to read them! They're not required to know for you to roleplay with me.

Headcanons

Specific Character Headcanons will be listed in 'General' and 'Characters', the rest is up to interpretation (could apply to all or some). Any specific spots or headcanons may differ from the one listed below, but it wouldn't be too far off.

General

Wilbur uses He/Him pronouns but he doesn’t mind They/Them. Ghostbur and Phantombur (OSMP!Wilbur) both use He/They pronouns. The rest of 'em uses He/Him pronouns.

Wilbur is clingy. He's very clingy. He loves to spend time with his closest friends, his family is what he calls them, and will stick to you like a little duckling following its mother duck. He's a very touchy and cuddly person. An arm around the shoulder, ruffling his younger brother's hair, holding hands with his family especially when he notices one of them to be scared of something, side hugs, cuddling, and sometimes falling asleep with his brothers in his arms, although this happens rarely with his older brother not being a fan of physical touch and both him and his younger brother not really able to find the right time.

Wilbur is quite known for his sass and his quips like Techno is known for his sarcasm and his dark jokes. He's dramatic as hell and lies right through his teeth like it's nothing.

Appearance

Fluffly brown curls.

Everything in his closet looks like it belongs on Pinterest boards. It's not surprising to see that most of them are sweaters and crewnecks. He is mostly seen in comfy sweaters, especially at home.

He has a bunch of coats too, no one knows why, he just has them, most of them are brown or black.

Mans has platforms and boots, goddamn he can and will be even taller if he wants to. He's rarely seen in them though (exception for Siren, Orpheus, and Revivedbur).

Basically anything you see CC!Wilbur wears is in his closet. So it doesn't stray too far from there.

[Simpbur and Softbur]

Simpbur seemingly always wears a white button up and black dress pants, he has very messy hair. They look fluffy but unkept and if you try to run your hands through his hair, your fingers will get stuck in the little knots. He always has bags under his eyes and he seems a bit skinny and slim.

Softbur seems a little better. He is seen either wearing his favorite yellow sweater or a white dress shirt with a jacket and black pants as well. He has fluffy but still somewhat messy brown hair. He also has bags under his eyes although they're not as bad as Simpbur's.

Mans teasy as hell. He will always find something to say to get the lee all giggly and flustered. More often than not, he resorts to baby talk, cooing and complimenting the lee. He likes to pretend he's not doing anything, striking up a normal conversation with the lee or anyone else in the room as if he's not literally wrecking someone at the time.

He loves putting on the tickle monster persona, he likes to be a silly little monster who loves to make people smile and laugh! He could also be pretty scary in a good way and chase the lee around the place if they dare to run, he tends to be a lot more teasy when this happens, especially if the lee resorts to hiding.

He adapts to the lee's wants or needs. He’ll make sure the lee is okay, checking up on them from time to time. No way is he going to make the lee uncomfortable, tickling is supposed to be a fun activity! He doesn't usually do aftercare and he's not the best at it either but if it's required, he will attempt to do it. He'll stay with them until they’re feeling all better and gain their energy back or fall asleep.

Raspberries are always present whenever he's tickling someone, unless he's going for a more gentle route. He loves to hear the hysterical laughter and cackles it brings out! He also loves giving tickly kisses and nibbles, especially on the neck, behind the ear, and tummy! /p

Lee

He can't take what he dishes out and most of the time, he dishes out things that would absolutely kill the man.

He's good at hiding his reactions. Hard to tease and hard to break, but if you know how to get him, he's done. It'll take a lot to get a reaction out of him and most people would give up but if you keep going, he'll break eventually. It's a lot easier when you take him by surprise.

Provoker, mans gonna do anything he can to get someone to tickle him. Be it stretching, poking someone, making fun of them, or straight up asking for it, he's going to get those tickles no matter what. He doesn't do the last one until he has no other choice. He's a stubborn man with a high ego (/j).

When he gets into one of his lee moods, he doesn't dare to ask, he will try to provoke but the moment he realizes it doesn't work, he shoves the idea down. It felt like forcing someone to do something for him and normally, he doesn't mind doing that (cause he's a little bastard), but for this, it's different.

He gets lee moods often, though it's almost never strong, and when he does, he reluctantly tries to push the feeling down by doing something else to distract him. It always works since he gets distracted really easily.

Soft lee moods make him a lot more clingy and touchy (/p) than usual. More often than not he will hug you at random times, take your hand and play with them while you do your own thing, resting his head on your shoulder, etc. He's normally like this with or without a lee mood, but it's a lot worse when he has one.

He LOVES rough tickles. He absolutely loves it. Even when he's in a soft lee mood, he tends to prefer something gentle but still mean. You can still go for his worst spots, he loves it.

He SHRIEKS /pos

He absolutely loves hates the rib-counting game. It gets him every time. Trust me. The best worst thing.

He will whine and squirm when you keep the anticipation for too long, occasionally letting a giggle slip through. He'll start getting desperate and flustered, all red in the face.

He's a squirmer! Once the anticipation has an affect on him, he can't stay still. He will twist, thrash, buck, arch his back, anything to get away from those prying fingers even if he really wants it.

He denies that the tickle monster tease gets him, but it does. Usually he would be able to feign his reaction to make it seem like it's not working but he is most definitely crumbling on the inside. On the occasion that he couldn't, he would try to hold back the involuntary smile creeping up his face and the nervous giggles from slipping out. And failing. Terribly.

Wilbur doesn't run away most of the time after tickling someone until they get their energy back, intentionally giving them a higher chance to get revenge! He knows this and he finds the adrenaline of the chase scary and fun.

He's a squealer! Most of the time he either shrieks or squeals, he rarely snorts and hiccups unless it gets intense!

He LOVES teases and compliments, but will never admit it. He tries to hide it everytime he's upset or disappointed when he doesn't get them but he seems to fail almost everytime as well.

He's a hardworker therefore he often gets shoulder and back pain for sitting in his chair for too long or moving stuff around. He always refuses massages for unknown reasons. His excuse being he has never gotten them in a very long time and the last time he did, it didn't help so he believes they're useless.

He has the tendency to stare at someone's hand when he's zoning out and in a lee mood. This doesn't always happen but when he does and that person notices and wiggles their fingers at him or gives him a knowing look, his face immediately goes red.

Biting and nibbling is the best WORST. Any spot is 1000x worse when someone nibbles on it. His neck and shoulders being a spot that usually only gets him to giggle? Nibble on it and he will shriek and shout. Will you get smacked by his hands and have your ears blasted by his screeches and yells? Absolutely. But it's worth it. Mouth tickles are so bad for him, he can never handle it. You gently bite on his hand, wrist, or arms? He starts giggling uncontrollably!

Spots

Spots that get him the most. Brings out shrieks, screams, and hysterical laughter! Also his favorite spots. ^^

Hips - !!!/10 His WORST spot! He can't handle this spot being targeted for too long, going for this spot tires him out quick. He won't admit it but this is his number one favorite spot along with his ribs. Drilling his hips will make him thrash, shriek, and scream in laughter. Lightly tickling or kneading them will make him squeal and giggle madly. Raspberries here will absolutely KILL him, he will be screaming bloody murder! Best for a quick revenge or if you're feeling a little mean!

Ribs - !!!/10 This is his other worst spot and also one of his favorite spots, same for his hips! Instantly brings out his hyena-like laugh, he will also let out his yell laugh if you mess with him by pretending to go for this spot. Playing the rib-counting game his favorite game by far gets him every time, the anticipation making it all the more unbearable for him! Whether you count from the top to the bottom or the other way around, the last one is always the most sensitive.

Sides - 20/10 A really bad spot when done right! Forming your hands into the shape of claws near the spot will make him jerk away with a yelp, usually muffled cause he tried to be quiet by pursing his lips but it didn't work. Doing that will immediately give him butterflies! A huge swarm of butterflies and a tingly feeling on his side and stomach that won't go away now. Look what you did. Clawing at his sides will get him to squeal and giggle uncontrollably, he tends to try holding his laughter in when someone does this, keep going and he'll break real soon. With enough anticipation, pinching his sides once makes him squeal and if you continue he will start giggling and it's going to be slightly higher pitched than if you would claw at his sides. Nibbles will KILL this man. He can NOT for the life of him handle that. He will start shrieking and screaming, and you have to have him pinned down because he will twist, thrash, and buck until it stops. If you do pin him though, you are cruel. And if nibbles are this bad, then raspberries... Oh boy. he will love you for it.

Back - 10/10 Dragging one finger down the middle will automatically give him butterflies, he will gasp and flinch and have a hard time trying to keep still but he will try to pretend like nothing is happening anyway even if it's obvious. Blowing a raspberry right in the middle will make him scream, the lower part of his back is more sensitive to scribbles while pressing your knuckle on the top part where his spine is will make him giggle like a madman!

Shoulder Blades - 9/10 Not as bad as the previous ones but still really bad! Scribbling on this spot will make him squeal and thrash around as much as he could, if he’s laying on his stomach, he’d be banging his fist on the ground, trying to claw his way out or get up. Makes him go weak and limp. Raspberries on this spot DESTROY him (make sure you prepare your ears for this because he will scream). Pressing, kneading, or massaging your thumbs into this spot will get him to shriek and plead. He will only flinch if he prepares himself or has his guard up, he'll have a hard time staying still and complain how much it 'hurts'. And it doesn't help that this is usually where his body aches the most when he overworks himself. So once the tension in the muscle relaxes and you keep going, that's when the fun happens :D

Really specific spots that also get him the most (just separating this so it doesn't get confusing)!

Back ribs - 9.5/10 Specifically the very edge. He will scream and yell at you. This spot immediately makes him thrash and if you're sitting on top of him, you have to hold on tight, otherwise you'll be thrown right off.

Bottom side where his shoulder blades meet his sides - 8/10 This one gets him bad for some reason. It just does. There's really no explanation to it.

Right below his underarm, between his first and second rib - 8.5/10 Zeroing-in on this spot will make him cackle and trap the ler's hands there! He can't bring them back up once this happens, so you'll have no choice but to weaken him until he goes limp.. 😔

Spots that still get him really good, bring out laughter and giggles and occasionally squeals and shrieks if done right!

Stomach - 8.5/10 Soft and gentle tickles are way more effective here. It's 10x worse for him when you just skitter and scratch with a little more pressure on his stomach than dig into it. The sides of his stomach are very sensitive. Wings, tails, anything fluffy you can use on this spot will get him to squeal and shriek! Sort of a melt spot? It's one of his favorites for teasy playful tickles or if you want to get him weak but not tire him out. Perfect for getting him to do or admit to doing something!

Knees - 8/10 Pinching or squeezing his knees will get him to start giggling no matter how much he tries to hold it. On the off chance he manages to not break, it won't last long before he does. Giving them light kisses will get him to shriek, squeal, or yell. He's a kicker so be careful!

Behind the knees - 8/10 He squeals and will kick out to try and get away, unintentionally giving more access to the spot.

Thighs - 7.5/10 He can keep a straight face being tickled here, but only for a certain amount of time. It depends on your method and hand placement. He giggles uncontrollably when you light trace on the sides or upper part of his thighs.

Underarms - 7/10 He can also handle being tickled here for a while before he breaks. Targeting this spot gets him to squeal and clamp his arms down when he doesn't expect it. Both light and rough tickles work but the reactions differ!

Spots that get him giggling, squirming, and melting!

Behind the ears - 8/10 Honestly, one of his favorites for softer tickles. Brings out giggles and breathy laughs! He melts and leans into the touch almost immediately, sometimes trying to keep it subtle but it's usually pretty noticeable if the ler is only going for that spot. He gets so flustered cause it's ridiculous! It's not supposed to be this sensitive! It's not fair! He tends to hide his face on the ler's shoulder and hugs them or clings unto them, muffled giggles and whines pouring out of him. He doesn't want to get away or stop it, so he hides his face instead. Blowing a raspberry on this spot, however, will make him shriek and laugh hysterically! No one usually goes for this spot cause they wouldn't have guessed. He's tall! No one would be able to reach his ears unless he's pinned down. So, no one really knows how sensitive this spot is, not even him. The first time he was targeted here, he was surprised by how bad the spot is. Let's just say, he makes sure to never keep this spot out in the open most of the time when he's around someone, even if that someone doesn't pose a 'threat'.

Neck - 8/10 Burying your face in his neck will get him to giggle and try to scrunch up his shoulders, which he can't because your head is in the way, so he'll end up giggling and squirming, trying to push your face away from this spot! Giving kisses to his neck will get him to squeal and nibbling will make him shriek and buck even though bucking doesn't even help him, it's just a reaction he can't help. Raspberries will get him to shriek and he'll start babbling incoherent pleas! This is his favorite method in this spot.

Shoulders - 7.6/10 Burying your face into his shoulders will make him tense or stiffen, but he tends to be able to brush it off by huffing as a "sign of contentment". He will try his hardest not to giggle or squirm and most of the time he will act like it does nothing to him but if you keep going, eventually he'll start to break. One of his favorite spots and also one that gives him butterflies instantly.

Wings (he has them only in specific AUs) - 6/10 Tracing the top part of his wings will get him to squirm, fluttering your fingers down the feathers will get him to start giggling (unless he can hold it in long enough), and grazing the area where his wings are attached to his back will make him squeal!

Spots that are uncommon or less well-known and a bit silly!

Palms - 6/10 Gently tracing will make his hands twitch and he'll smile but it wouldn't do much. If it goes on long enough, he'll start to giggle but he won't retract his hands even if the sensation starts to get unbearable. He can handle this spot just fine. Raspberries are a different story. If you try to nibble his hand, he will lightly smack your face with it.

Knuckles - 6/10 Giving tickly kisses and nibbles on this spot will get him to giggle uncontrollably. He can't even hold it from spilling out, even if he did prepare himself beforehand, giggles pour out of his lips like a broken dam whenever this happens. It frustrates him and he always curses when he starts giggling, but he's never actually upset with this. Lightly tracing his knuckles would make him want to pull his hands away but they wouldn't make him giggle, he'd just whine if it goes on for long enough. Raspberries don't work here.

Arms - 6/10 Only because nibbling also makes him helplessly giggle. This is also another spot that he can't stop giggling when nibbling happens, despite the spot not being all too bad when other methods are used otherwise. Raspberries make him squeal but otherwise, you'll just get giggles!

Ears - 8/10 Also solely because nibbling gets him to squeal and shake his head to get his ears away. Blowing in their ear will make him scrunch up his shoulders! Raspberries behind his ear is just cruel.

I have a few other spots that I don't mention on purpose, you're gonna have to find them on your own lol and the rest are undiscovered or found by accident. (someone already found one)

Characters

Characters that I have a little idea of how they work + Characters I WILL be playing

Wilbur (C! but Modern Day) - Lee-Leaning Switch

I have no explanation for this. You're just gonna have to see what he is like from my roleplays.

CC!Wilbur - Ler-Leaning Switch

He loves tickle hugs or cuddles! He will definitely lift someone up to tickle them or snatch them unto his lap. Can't escape now! Sometimes he'd randomly hug them from behind, feigning innocence and saying he just misses them. Don't be fooled, it's a trap.

Wilbur knows how to act as if he's not ticklish. He is, he's just good at hiding it. Catching him off guard or teasing him with anticipation will eventually break him. He'll challenge you and make you work for it but once he breaks, oho it's over for him.

He doesn't break immediately, being the stubborn bastard he is, even if you go for his worst spots (he can't hold on for long though). Teasing will definitely get him to crack, the moment he starts giggling, he can't stop!

Siren - Switch

Siren, one of the highly known supervillains, is a part of the big three worst villains known to man. In action, he's terrifying, a nightmare. Siren's power made it so he could coerce anyone into doing his bidding just by using his voice. A dangerous power to have, especially in the hands of the wrong person, and as a supervillain, Siren made sure to put it to good use. But out of the arena, he's just some guy with a silver tongue and sarcastic humor. He rarely participates in 'dumb' little activities like tickling, but when he does, he's a menace. Siren shows no mercy to his victims, even when it comes to tickling.

Siren is a confident man, he's confident in his power and his skills. He often degrades his enemies in and out of battle, putting them in their place with just a few words. Though he's confident, he makes sure to not underestimate whoever he's fighting with too much, lest he ends up putting his guard down.

He never expected himself to be ticklish. Obviously, he wouldn't be surprised if he was when he was a lot younger, but he believes he has grown out of it. Often fighting in battles has made him feel nothing short of rough and painful encounters, rarely anything soft and gentle. Well, there was that one time when he jumped almost six feet in the air when Blade tapped him on the shoulder a little bit too close to his neck or the other time when he had a hard time trying to stay still as Zephyrus wrapped his wings around him. But that was nothing! He wasn't ticklish, he's just.. slightly more sensitive to soft things.

He knows how to keep his composure, to pretend he has no clue of what is happening, to feign emotions. He uses these to his advantage, often for hiding things like his identity or in this case... his "sensitivity".

As the whole Soot family knows, Wilbur is the kind of person who needs verbal reassurance of his relationships with others. How even though he might seem confident, he actually had a lot of insecurity when it comes to the people close to him. When tickle fights became common in the Soot household, everyone learned that teasing and compliments is a must with Wilbur. Otherwise, he would end up feeling bad or guilty about it, especially if they had tickled him for longer than usual.

Orpheus - Lee-Leaning Switch

Having the ability to go intangible gives him the ability to phase through walls and surprise attack someone. Invisibility also comes with his powers, which lets him sneak up on someone as well.

Sometimes when he possesses someone for too long, he's usually out of it after he leaves the body of the victim. Other than Tommy's grounding method, tracing his palms helps him. It's not a super effective method but it works. His palms are pretty sensitive to touch, so when he isn't out of it, he can't help but squirm and giggle softly when someone traces over his palm.

Revivedbur - Switch

He acts more like a ler, rarely a lee, even though he prefers to be the lee. He loves to wreck someone for the sake of them doing it back yet his attempts always end up futile. He rarely gets to be the lee, especially during times he wants to, due to his status being “one of the scariest lers on the smp”.

He tends to get lee moods that end up "dying down" due to being the ler, it frustrates him but he keeps it hidden well. He doesn't complain about it, no one notices either, so he brushes it off and deals with it until it eventually disappears. If it’s bad enough, he wouldn’t be able to stay still and has the huge urge to squirm or hug himself to will it away. He fidgets with his hands and randomly gets up for no reason to walk around the room, pretending to be busy. When he does get the chance to be a lee for once, he runs away, he isn’t sure why and he curses to himself for it.

Mans a lot more sensitive after being trapped in limbo for so many years, the lack of contact makes him that way. He flinches just by a hand on his shoulder or a tap on his upper back but he hides it well. He never asks for massages in fear of not being able to hold back his laughter (he doesn’t know if it will tickle, he's never experienced it before). If he has wings, he also never asks someone to preen them for him, even if he doesn’t preen them himself.

Revivedbur has a scar where he was stabbed by Philza. He has a habit of staring at it in front of the mirror in silence, his expression tends to be unreadable, sometimes he furrows his brows slightly. He doesn’t do this often and not for long either, lest someone walks in on him and he’s forced to see the look of pity or sadness in their eyes. He also has tiny scars from trying to dig his way out for hours and hours day by day during limbo, he stares at them and traces the line slowly at random times, accompanied by a pang of guilt from who knows where. Due to this, he also has calloused palms. His scar is his worst spot for gentle tickles like scratches or light tracing, it drives him INSANE. /pos Doing this with the scar on his back is more effective than the front. Both are still effective, though.

He’s also more touch-starved, he melts into hugs, leans into hands caressing his cheeks, he loves it when people play with his hair. He never admits it but it's very obvious and everyone knows.

Phantombur - Lee-Leaning Switch

He phases through walls and pranks people with it! :D (I will get to writing a better description of what he does with it and stuff later) He's sneaky and chaotic and he likes to mess with people for fun.

Simpbur - Lee

He's a sucker for gentle but playful tickles! He giggles and squirms a lot, he can never stay still! Telling him to try and not to squirm around only makes him squirm and giggle even more! Be gentle when pinning him down or holding his arms, you'll notice that even when he has the choice to break free whenever he wants, he doesn't! The moment the ler lets go of his hands, he will bring them up to cover his face instead of stopping the tickles. Pointing any of this out will make him blush furiously!

He doesn't really like rough or intense tickles, it tends to overwhelm him. Though at certain times, his lee mood is so bad that the only way to satisfy it is by full on wrecking him! When his lee mood is bad, gentler tickles don't satisfy his mood but make it worse. He's too embarrassed to ask for tickles, let alone asking to be wrecked, so it frustrates him to no end when his lee mood is bad and the ler is being gentle with him. He starts whining and huffing, often squirms around in place. If he can't take it any longer, he'd pull at the ler's hands or accidentally shout what he wants, he ends up feeling really bad and apologizes profusely.

Compliments make him EMBARRASSED and FLUSTERED and SHY! He rarely receives compliments in general, so when he does, he blushes a thousand shades of red! It makes him feel safe and loved and cared for, it reassures him that the ler is having just as much fun as he is!

Aftercare is a must for him! Cuddles, hugs, anything! He loves and needs aftercare, otherwise he'd start to doubt himself. He needs constant reassurance!

Softbur - Lee

Like Simpbur, he loves gentle but playful tickles, but he also likes slightly rougher ones too! He often denies it because he doesn't want to admit that he's soft, he thinks it makes him weak. Reassuring him and complimenting him will eventually make him realize that it's okay to be soft once in a while.

Little Guy Wilbur (Thumbnailbur) - Lee

You know the little in his thumbnail? Yeah, him. Yes, I am making him a character you can't stop me. He's SMALL and SPITEFUL and he will bite and push at your hand if you try to grab him.

I do other characters as well but I have not written for them yet, I will still be playing them! (Ghostbur, Q!Wilbur, WF!Wilbur, etc.)

Over here on this little corner of the interwebs, I like to post about my experiences being fictionkin.

I'll proooooooobably be posting primarily about being fictionkin of the Heart (Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium, but who's to say the other ones won't come in eventually! Eh? Eh?

Please do note a few things:

-I am like, REALLY sensitive. Like, craaaaazy sensitive. Like, it is literally so easy to hurt my feelings you don't even know. Please be gentle with me! I promise I don't bite, and if I'm rude/wrong/whatever it is NOT on-purpose!

-I'm not going to get too in-depth about my mental ouchies (quite frankly, they're none of your business!) but I do have OCD and I do have schizoaffective. Because of my OCD, I will never reblog things that work based off of superstition/peer-pressure. No "reblog this or else [XYZ] will happen" or "I don't care WHAT your blog is about, what your 'aesthetic' is, what you care about, what your summer job in 2017 was, what your mother's maiden is, YOU BETTER REBLOG THIS OR YOU'RE A HORRIBLE PERSON!!!"-type posts, nothing that triggers compulsion in someone to get them to reblog because, quite frankly, that's not cool. My schizoaffective leads me to have a bit of the paranoias, so be patient with me! Sometimes I'm a little off my rocker.

Here are my kintypes!:

-The Heart (Chonny's Charming Chaos Compendium) blended with the Robber (Ain't no Rest for the Wicked - Chonny Jash Cover) "Villain" Heart! I'm mostly just Heart, though. I know that this kintype of mine came from some odd, ask blog-type crossover AU world, hence my current love and passion for crossover AUs. This leads me to having noematas + memories of a lot of random characters unrelated to CCCC! I know I was a spawn of entropy (Soul was a deity of entropy of sorts, I don't know if that was actually the case or just how I perceived him) and a God/Goddess (genderless) of the Moon, and I lived in a world between worlds composed of Soul's mind. I wasn't a figment of his imagination, and the world was very real; it was not just a mindscape, it was an entire universe. But I don't know who or what "Whole" was other than he was Soul at one point. I know I had an undying hatred for humanity and any human-adjacent entity, and that was part of my villainous motives; I also know Mind was a rival of mine but he wasn't necessarily good either. I also had a strict code against murder and would never kill anyone.

-Grimmchild (Hollow Knight). An "iteration" of myself in another world. Dunno too much about this kintype, but it came to me in a dream and was the first sign of alterhumanity to me back in 2022.

-Glorified stick figure (species), my (Villain) Heart kintype was one of these! But like, a creature that took the form of one as its Host was one itself.

-Idkin, the aforementioned parasite! Now, I don't know how much of an idkin I was, in all honesty, as I have conflicting memories. But to an extent I know I was one of these bad boys.

-Blitzen. The Santa reindeer. I don't know how. I don't know why. But apparently that was me at some point. I truly cannot wait for what December will be like for me.

-CraftyCorn (Smiling Critters), specifically fictionhearted. I dunno, something about her speaks to me.

-Miscellaneous "iterations" of myself. I believe my kintypes (with the exception of Blitzen) to be various iterations of (Villain) Heart, myself included, and us all being the same entity albeit different AUs of one another. I know there's also a dystopian version of myself, a "furry" version of myself, and a "canon-accurate" version of myself too!

"Let's go introduce you to Hati first, Hati likes everyone and everyone likes Hati. It can't go wrong."

Rieka says and I felt like telling her that I could think of many things that could go wrong, but chose to stay quiet.

Hati reaches out to shake Kat's hand.

"Hello I'm Hati! I originally come from the Amark pack but now I'm here with my sister's." She winks at Rieka.

'What is going on here? What are all of these people's relationships to each other?' I thought.

"Hi I'm Kat Woodard."

"Omg are you THE Kat Woodard!? The author!?"

"You know of me? You have internet here?"

Rieka and Hati laugh.

"Ofcouse we do, and I love your books! When I was younger I was totally into the whole werewolf-vampire girlfriends dream and even though I'm real happy with my sister's in the pack now your books bring me right back to those werewolf-vampire dreams!"

"Oh, thank you."

Her smile was infectious.

"You really didn't know any of this existed before today did you?" Hati asks Kat, bouncing on her feet.

"No, I really didn't." Kat answers.

"That would explain some of the inconsistencies!"

Kat laughs a bit awkwardly.

Hati continues, her voice running a mile a minute.

"Oh please don't worry, your books are perfect! They don't have to have every little werewolf fact right!"

Hati is silent for the beat and then blush.

"I really don't wanna bother you after the whole 'the town might eliminate you'-thing but are you working on the sequel to 'in the clocktower' by any chance? Oh my starts are you here doing research!? Is Rieka your inspiration!? Oh my goddess Rieka is totally the inspiration for Tiska isn't she!?"

"Hati breathe!" Rieka tells Hati while putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean to overwhelm you, but really you do not have to worry about you getting eliminated, everyone will love you I guarantee it! I will help spread the good word about you too! Anything to help!"

"Thank you Hati and I promise if I manage to get out of this mess I will definitely send you a copy of the book when its finished."

"Oh wow! Do you really mean that!?"

"Yeah, I do!"

"Oh thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"

And I really did mean it, I still do.

"You seam to romance Hati, do you have a partner now?" Kat asks and Hati blushes.

"No. I have my pack sisters and that is definitely really good..." Hati smiles at Rieka fondly and continues "But sometimes I can't help but dream about the type of romance people write about, that you write about. You know, the type with only two people."

Okey, seriously what is the relationship of all these people?

"But I'm not really made for relationships." Hati continues her voice taking on a somber note.

"What do you mean? You seem absolutely lovely!" Kat says and Hati gives a half smile.

Rieka looks deep into Hatis eyes as she says "I do not need to be a witch to see the day in the close future where you and Lupa leave us to build a pack of your own."

"You really think so?" Hatis asks, hope in her eyes.

"I know so!" Rieka says.

"Thank you! Oh please do not tell her any of this!" Hati fusses and Rieka laughs as she assures her she has nothing to worry about.

To do list

1. Try not to get eliminated

2. Find out is Rieka is single our in a polycule, or in a cult, or what ever hell is going on here.

3. (And somehow most important) Protect Hati at all costs.

"This Lupa, ee approve of her right?" Kat asks Rieka as they walk away from Hati's room.

Rieka chuckles "We do, I can take you too meet her right now and you can asses her yourself. It's not far, just up these stairs."

Rieka is silent for a beat. "Hati really just makes you want to protect her, doesn't she?"

"Yeah, definitely." Kat says without hesitation.

Rieka smiled at me as if I had just passed a big test. A 'like my little sister/ maybe polygamous partner or die'-test.

My problems with clear card

never really see anyone talk about how bad clear card actually is so here i am. everything i say about Kaito, Akiho, and syaosaku is not meant to be an attack on people who like them but instead criticism on how clamp has written all of them.

all right this is going to be long so buckle up (very big spoiler warning for all of Cardcaptor Sakura and Clear Card)

Problem 1: Clear Card's story

The story seems to be all over the place, like Clamp couldn't decide what they wanted to go with. it may seem simple at first but there's: Stuff with Nadeshiko and Lillie, Kaito and Akiho's weird magic group, Sakura getting new cards, Syaoran taking the old cards, Touya getting new powers, Yukito's magic contract, and the fact that most of it gets introduced and then dropped without getting explained.

Problem 2: The Kaito and Akiho problem

Kaito and Akiho get focused on so much that it seems like they don't even want it to be Sakura's show anymore. Everyone LOVESSSSS Akiho but, she never really does anything does she? she's only really nice and yet Clamp wants you to love her, and it works, she embodies the fakeness Clear Card has with its characters (we'll talk about that more in a bit.) and Kaito is just Yukito if he was a villain (and cishet) who Clamp wants you to like, and they try to make him baby girl so hard that they forgot that he's an asshole to Sakura the whole time.

Problem 3: The Syaosaku problem

Don't get me wrong, I love syaosaku but its gotten to the point that Sakura and Syaoran don't get to be their own characters. Sakura (despite being the main character) gets screwed over on about the same level as Cardcaptors and Syaoran doesn't even get to be mean or do anything that isn't going "i love Sakura!!!".

Problem 4: The fake niceness

outwardly mean characters like Syaoran and Nakuru are now forced to be nice to everyone, Like Nakuru for example now, can't mock Yukito or start any sort of conflict. (even though it was a main part of her character.)

Problem 5: The lack of gay rep

This is one of my biggest problems. CCS and Clamp as a whole has always been known for having great LGBTQ+ rep and yet, Clear Card has nothing. the other day i counted every gay thing in Clear Card i could find, you want to guess the number i got? 5. and two of them were pushing it. Its clear that Clamp doesn't care anymore (or they just dont care enough to show it). As a gay man, CCS's gay rep means a lot to me, so to see it so shamelessly removed like were on the same level as the pedophilia and incest hurts. This is the only time ive ever seen anyone talk about it (please read it!!!)

Problem 6: Clamp's hatred of Touya and Yukito

even thought they've been in CCS since the start they barely get to do anything anymore or even show up. yes i know that im biased but its clear that they don't want to let them do stuff, when they get something to do Clamp gets rid of it and never talks about it again. It probably doesn't help that they showed up so much in the sakura card arc.

Thorn is furious.

Thorn is furious, and the whole of the Coruscant Guard knows.It's hard to miss, given that it's so infrequent. Thorn's anger is rare but all the more vicious for it; Fox always said he just saved it up until one day he'd blow his bucket straight off from the pressure.

Jokes like that probably won't land now, though. Not unless Fox wants to add more broken bones to his tally.

"Commander Thorn," he says, flat as anything. "Aren't you supposed to be on sleep shift? I have you down as-"

"Don't fuck with me, Fox," Thorn warns, and snatches Fox's datapad neatly out of his hands.

Fox snaps, "Thorn, what the hell."

Immediately he knows it's the wrong thing to say.

"What the hell? You're damn right what the hell! You-" and here he levels an accusing finger at Fox- "You were literally trampled in that riot, Hedge said you had six broken bones, and now I find out you've been working for two straight shifts?"

"None of my fingers were broken," Fox tries, "So I can still sign off-"

"Shut UP," and Fox does. Thorn braces both his hands against Fox's desk and lets his head hang low, sweaty blond curls dangling down. Exhaustion curves the lines of his spine. There's a few new scratches and dents along the red-painted pauldrons - those will have to be painted over soon. The senators don't like their clones to look scruffy.

When Thorn speaks, his anger's drained away, leaving only a tired sort of pleading in his voice. “Fox. You need to stop this. I can’t watch you burn yourself out anymore.”

"I-" Fox starts. Stops.

It's not like he wants to be here, sat at his desk while his broken bones ache and a migraine pulses through his eyesocket and down to his teeth. But he'd been warned, hadn't he, a comm message from the Chancellor blinking on his HUD the instant he'd woken up in the medbay.

[CC-1010: Coruscant Security Force has reported the failure of your troopers at the most recent riot. If handling your responsibilities is too much, I am more than happy to appoint members of the CSF to direct supervisory positions over the Coruscant Guard.]

Fox can't let that happen. He'll work himself to death before he lets some bozo from the CSF have any more power over his Guards. They already abuse what power they do have, pushing cases and patrols that they don't want to do off on the Corries. Throwing their weight around, ordering his Corries to run stupid little errands, to stand still while they push them around. Or worse.

Fox doesn't even want to know what they'll do with direct power over him - they've tried it before, but he's managed to stand his ground. For now.

Thorn's still slumped in front of him. He works hard, just as hard as Fox does. They all work double shifts most days, they're all sleep deprived, they're all usually a little injured, be it in the line of duty or just a mean-spirited Senator. Fox doesn't want to burden Thorn any more than he already is, but he's running out of options.

"The Chancellor's displeased with our current performance," he says finally. "If I can't handle this, he'll put us under the command of the Coruscant Security Force."

He doesn't need to tell Thorn exactly how terrible that would be - his commander's face goes pale and worried.

"Can he do that?" Thorn croaks. Fox shrugs.

"Does it matter?" The Chancellor does what he pleases. Ultimate power and all that. Technically the Guard should be under the purview of the Jedi, but somehow that's not what happened -Jedi didn't want the added responsibility, maybe. Too busy with the real soldiers.

That's fine. Fox can handle this. He's been handling this. They'll be fine.

Fox just needs to keep working.

Well, this post has been made countless times, but I’m making one too because I’ve seen a lot of people say they’re new to tumblr and don’t know the whole “reblogging is better than liking” rule and other stuff. So without any further ado, here are ways YOU can support the fanfiction authors. Now keep in mind this applies to almost every author out there, not just the stayblr fandom, so if you’re a silent reader (or even if you aren’t), I advise you go through this post. Warning, this is a fairly long post going into detail, so yeah. I still expect you, the readers to read this, and if you’re a writer, feel free to lmk if i’ve written smth wrong or if you want me to add something! ^^

In this post I’ll go into thorough analysis of the pros and cons of each of the methods listed here and how YOU as a reader can show the authors whose fics you read more love and motivate them to produce content.

WARNING; LONG POST! GOES INTO A DECENT AMOUNT OF DETAIL. NOT EDITED, EXCUSE ANY TYPOS.

#1 : LIKING !

I think this is basic common knowledge, and a lot of people tend to do this. When you like the post, the author sees it, you see it, and if the author has their liked posts accessible (which majority of the time they don’t), and if someone deliberately goes to check it, then they see it. See why so many authors say just liking does nothing? Only liking says “Hey, I’m gonna tell you your story is not that good by simply liking it and not sharing it with other people. :D”

♯ PROS:

You’re telling the author that you've read their fic, and either you’ve enjoyed it to a certain extent, or you’re just saving it to read for later.

Likes are seen by you, the author and anyone who has access to your likes (which, most people don’t).

♯ CONS:

If you ONLY like, you’re not really helping the author’s work reach a wide audience because this site isn’t Instagram. Reblogging is the only way people can SEE our works. I’ll cover more on that in the next section.

In a nutshell, liking is good! But you should most likely use it in a combination with the other stuff I’ve listed below, because just the like itself doesn’t really do much in giving the author any feedback or interaction on their fics.

To clear shit up; I’m not talking about those people who don’t read the story or appreciate it in the first place. I’m talking about those who appreciate the fic, like it, but don’t leave any sort of feedback to show that.

#2 : REBLOGGING !

This is SO, SO important. I cannot stress on this enough. Let me explain WHY so many writers stress on reblogging content:

Tumblr’s tag system is inherently fucked up, and has grown more so over the year. I’m not kidding, at first, the fic either used to show up in the tags or it didn’t, but now, sometimes your fic can be REMOVED from the tags because of,,, idk tumblr tag shit. Anyways, as you can see, it’s very demotivating for authors at that point, because the major way for people to find their content and expand their blogs has been blocked.

Due to this reason, tumblr authors need to RELY on you, their followers to help spread their works to a wider audience. Now again, before you get me wrong, I’m not saying you ae forced to rb our works regardless of whether you like them or not. BUT, that being said, if you DO infact like the story, there’s no harm in reblogging, right? By doing this you’re indirectly telling the author — “hey! :D I liked your fic! Which is why I am gonna share it to my followers so they can read it too :D” Trust me, you’re doing nothing but helping the people who produce content for you to read. Seems like a worthy cause to hit the reblog button, right? It’s only a one, or maximum two step procedure.

Leave tags in your reblogs! Trust me, as an author myself and as much as I know from all my author friends, we oft check the tags of your reblogs to see if you found any part amazing or even if you have anything to say about the writing we put so much hard work into. Even a key smash or a “This was so [insert adjective] 🥺” is enough to leave a smile on your authors face.

♯ PROS :

You’re !! Sharing !! Your authors !! Works !! This leads to them getting more recognition, so for the content they’re so graciously providing for free, you’re promoting their blog and helping them expand it.

If the tags are being a shit, which majority of the time they are, then you’re literally making an author’s day by reblogging! You’re showing them that you, a follower and appreciator of their works are willingly sharing their content because it deserves to be seen by more people. Again before any dumb people decide to attack me, i am talking about people who like the fic but don't bother reblogging and are silent/ghost readers. I am not forcing anyone to read anybody’s work.

YOU’RE MAKING YOUR AUTHOR SO HAPPY WHAT MORE REASONS COULD YOU POSSIBLY WANT !! 🥺

♯ CONS :

Literally none, because as far as I remember no author is against reblogging of their works. It’s quite literally the way this platform functions. Reblogging is IMPORTANT.

#3 : COMMENTING/SENDING FEEDBACK !

This kind of overlaps with the previous section, but THIS IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT STEP !! When you leave feedback, you are directly giving the author something so much more valuable to them than high follower/note counts or money. Your feedback is literally our serotonin. I kid you not the number of times I’ve received a positive comment and smiled and it has made my day. There’s a reason youtubers (though not the best example, bear with me here because it was the only one I could think of) ask people to subscribe, like and COMMENT. The subscription is like a follow, the like is ofc like a heart, and the comment is equivalent to an rb with comments in the tags.

You might argue and tell me that a comment is basically like an ask so the reblogging step isn’t necessary, but I’m sure 99% of you use YouTube and you know that more comments leads to people’s videos boosted in the stream/trending charts. This is what reblogging does. Reblogging shares the piece with other people like minded, which leads to a boost in reads. You are literally helping your author grow.

It’s quite literally the same thing as youtubers. Youtubers NEED validation to keep their content creation going, so do writers, so do other ccs on this site. This post is however, focused on WRITERS, so keep that in mind.

♯ PROS :

By doing this, you’re giving author valuable feedback! It’s similar to what you do in rbing with tags. Interactivity with their fics boosts their note counts and helps expand their audience, so srsly, now think of it: your one comment is playing such a massive role to help ccs create more content.

Imagine how much of a difference the note counts will be in when every person who simply likes after reading the fic, reblogs, leaves a comment and sends an ask. the note counts would be high on each and every fic, which is validation in itself, but your comments would inspire the writer so much more! Please, don’t skip the commenting part. Even a simple one like: “this is so cute!” is wonderful.

♯ CONS :

Remember, if you’re gonna give constructive criticism (which I’m sure you all are smart enough to know if different from hate), make sure the author is okay with it. Authors need to be in a specific mindset and must be ready to accept criticism, so if you’re gonna give constructive criticism to them when they’re at a low point, it may demotivate them.

Just commenting, instead of reblogging and commenting in the tags/ reblogging and then leaving an ask in their inbox, while it gives validation in plenty, will not lead to the author’s work being spread. Therefore I suggest either reblogging and commenting in the tags or reblog and then leave an ask, or comment under the fic!

!! reminder; I am not saying that if you don’t rb and just leave feedback, your feedback has no value. We authors truly appreciate every bit of feedback, but this post is aimed to help you learn how to interact with and support authors, and make them feel more motivated, because the current scenario of liking and scrolling is taking a toll on their creative abilities. Take it from a person who’s been writing for a year.

#4 : COMMSIONING VIA THEIR KO-FI/OTHER APPS !

Before any of you attack me, let me tell you that this is not a step that is 100% necessary to do. ONLY donate if you can and if you genuinely want to, and if anyone is forcing you to pay for something against your will, you need to get yourself out of there.

Regardless, if an author has a kofi and you’re able to and you want to donate, you definitely should! It’s also a valid form of support.

#5 : ADDING THEM ON REC LISTS/ RECOMMENDING THEM TO REC BLOGS

This is such an underrated option, to be honest. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen my fic was recommended onto some rec list and it’s made me smile so hard. If you like some fics, create a rec list! They’re oft very popular amongst the fans too. Making rec posts is such a great way to share your favorite stories with others.

Rec blogs! I’ve seen a couple going around, and needless to say they are a great way to get someone else to read your favorite author’s work whilst also giving them your own feedback. These blogs oft accept recs via a form or ask box, and they leave your feedback along with their own, or else they’ll oft tag the author in the feedback post, so look! You’re basically helping your author share their fic to many more people, because you’ve given them feedback and a reblog.

Literally no con of this. Unless, a one in a million case, this author says they don’t like receiving feedback/being tagged, and I’m sure NO person has said this before, at least none that I’ve heard of.

#6 : FINAL COMMENTS; MISC !

When an author points out about how the interactivity is drastically reducing, don’t just give them blind apologies. Yes, you feel sorry for not interacting as much, we understand, but rather show that you’ll become a better content consumer through your actions. We need to see that we’re not just throwing words into a void and that people are actually trying to be better content consumers.

Understand the fact that authors don’t get paid for this, and 99% of the time, these authors don’t take commissions either. They’re giving you novel worthy writings for free. Take Percy Jackson: You think the author would have felt motivated to write the subsequent parts, let alone two whole series based off of it if literally no one showed that they were interested? Rick Riordan has sales, he is being paid, there are millions of people and big agencies who provide him feedback. Now take that huge amount and simmer it down to an audience of maybe 10000 people This is what fanfic authors want. They don’t want your money, nor are they telling you to risk your lives for them. All they want is, a reblog, some tags, some feedback, some INTERACTIVITY. A sign that they aren’t throwing fics into the void and that people actually like them, some motivation to continue. Seems fairly easy to throw an rb with some tags, right?

Don’t bother to tell me that we do this for ourselves and we shouldn’t ask for likes and reblogs and feedback, because 1) you are consuming the content that we “write for ourselves” and 2) writers post their content here for interactivity and feedback. We could just not post and write and save our fics in our dungeon drafts for years. But we choose to post to entertain the readers, the consumers. And we aren’t even asking that much in return.

Don’t give me the whole “I’m scared that authors feel that comments are annoying” excuse either because seriously this has been DEBUNKED SO MANY TIMES. Istg, in the nicest way possible, if you still think writers are annoyed by interaction and feedback, after so many posts, long rants have been posted as to how we’re not, then you must truly be living under a rock. There, I said it. Please stop thinking this way, I’ll say it again, AUTHORS ARE NOT ANNOYED OF FEEDBACK, COMMENTS, TAGS, REBLOGS. WE LOVE IT. Saying this is like saying that the audience in a theatre play shouldn’t clap when the play ends because the actors would find it noisy. 🤡

I’ve seen some people saying they have anxiety issues and such, so pls note that I’m not invalidating your condition. If you’re trying to be more interactive, I really appreciate it! If you can’t, that’s fine too. You’re trying.

But for the people who have no reason other than feeling lazy to rb and comment, your lack of interactiveness is not excused. Please. Tumblr is a reblogging site. If you’re gonna consume content like authors are some sort of machines, I encourage you to go get some more perspective.

This site is not Instagram or the satan bird app. Your likes are appreciated but frankly speaking, they do nothing to the author except tell them “Hey i read ur fic but i'm not gonna support u :D” and honestly, that is detrimental to their creative capabilities and mental health.

DON’T FOLLOW AN ACC JUST TO MINDLESS RB THEIR SIGNAL BOOST POSTS AND THEIR REBLOGS OF GIFS AND NOT INTERACT WITH THEIR WRITING AT ALL ! Trust me, authors prefer a lower amount of interactive followers than a high count that doesn’t even give them any feedback. Again your follows are appreciated, but when you’re following, you know the type of content the author creates, so the author expects that the more followers, the more interactivity. These days, this is just becoming the opposite. So don’t do it! If you’re gonna follow to read, interact with their works. I promise, this will make both you and the author happy. A win-win situation.

In conclusion: SUPPORT YOUR FUCKING AUTHORS! THEY ARE NOT MACHINES THAT HAVE NO FEELINGS TO PRODUCE CONTENT FOR YOU! FICS TAKE DAYS AND DAYS OF PLANNING, PLOTTING, OUTLINING, WRITING, EDITING, MAKING TEASERS. SO JUST SHOW THEM YOU APPRECIATE THEM WITH AN RB. IT’S THE L E A S T YOU CAN DO.

Please educate yourself, and put an end to this mindless consuming culutre and bring up some interactivity.

If you’ve read this far, I want you to go to two of your favorite authors and leave some feedback in their inbox, and tag me in it (either tag me yourself or ask the author to do so, they won’t mind). Show your writers that our words are taking effect and you are becoming better consumers. I mean it. I’m serious. I want every single one who reads this post to do this. besides valid reasons, if you’re lazy to do this, you’re a part of the problem. PLEASE get more perspective.

And, if I think your rb is somehow contradicting my points and is bringing down the reason I made this post, I will politely ask you to delete your comment, because this post is about being truthful about the harsh reality of tumblr consumers and how we can change it. There are three types of misinterpretation of c!Dream in my opinion; and by that I mean anyone's take ever, whether it's a c!Dream anti or a c!Dream apologist or a c!Dream enthusiast. That's right, I'm making an essay about how in my mind everyone is wrong. This is how I lead debates please don't unfollow me-

1. misunderstanding or overdramatizing evidence

c!Dream apologists; g-guys. I'm not saying he isn't traumatized, but look. I really used to believe he was just everyone's victim and hurt and mentally unstable, and I'm not saying he isn't at all, but I changed my mind because I feel like the evidence doesn't,, point that way at all. Your emotions are valid, but your takes are very removed from what the rest of the fandom thinks because you take little hints and try to make them into some big angsty point within canon.

The evidence we have proves he is more ruthless than anything; even the content creator says that. He doesn't say why he does progressively more ruthless things, and he does say it's for his ideals and out of good intentions, but he doesn't say anything about him being hurt into doing it.

I'm not saying he isn't hurt. But making analysis of an entire character based on something that is barely supported by canon isn't the way I roll and I feel like it's one of the reason why people assume all c!Dream apologist are going to woobify the character,, because some of them really do that.

I don't mind portraying him as hurt by what's happened in canon, because that is a completely safe conclusion, but jumping to the victim side of the scale seems a little bit like painting a completely different picture than what actual canon says. (Note: talking about pre-Pandora c!Dream here.)

There is tragedy in someone being driven by the environment, circumstances and themselves deeper and deeper into corruption, but it feels like by only considering that the entire character is limited to one side of the argument.

I like to also see the side of him that will hurt people because he thinks he has to, because he wants to succeed above all, the side that will ruthlessly murder and manipulate and be calculative and clever and even self-destructive about it because he believes that'll get him towards his ultimately selfless goal.

That's my morally complex bastard.

A lot of people seem to be mistaking or ignoring that for the sake of saying he is just... hurt and that that is an explanation of his actions, and even though they don't use it as an excuse, it feels a little cheap.

And here we come to the core of the problem: an emotional vs. rational explanation for the character's actions.

Because the thing is, with enough evidence, you will see that nearly (we'll get to that in a bit) everything he does can be explained rationally. Everything is connected, everything is the most logical and efficient and merciless route straight from point A to point B, because c!Dream is fascinatingly smart when you look deeper into it.

He knows what he's doing. He knows his actions are awful, and he doesn't care - not because he would be some evil person, but because his mindsets cause him to justify such things, and mindsets are more complicated than feelings.

There is a lot to explore in that direction of the character, but that is material for another essay.

In short, people seem to enjoy removing all of his agency in favor of explaining his actions emotionally rather than from a rational standpoint which results in inaccurate analysis.

Do I think it is completely understandable he attacked L'Manberg?

Absolutely.

Do I think c!Wilbur painted him as a villain to benefit his own power?

Yes.

Do I think he utilized the villain persona as an intimidation tactic and often went overkill with no regard for anything but accomplishing his goals and that he slowly became more and more willing to do bad things of his own accord because he became determined and distrusting of the world to the point of committing horrible actions?

100%.

Analysing that part of the character is the most interesting part, when you consider it - and an important one as well.

2. ignoring evidence

c!Dream antis; please. Stop saying he doesn't care or explaining his actions with obsession or assigning him personality traits or motives that he literally doesn't have in order to demonize him I beg of you.

It's so many basic and easily debunkable assumptions that can be explained with what we actually know of his motives. People will ignore both canon and the authors' words to paint him as some monster with no nuance, which he is not.

We only know so much about him, but people will ignore and deny even the little bit we have for the sake of making him the literal personification of evil and erasing the fact that he is a complex and human character. Just accept he can be accurately analysed beyond hate and let people do it if you don't want to do so yourself.

3. assuming the evidence we have is everything you need to determine a final approach and that nothing outside of the presented evidence exists when certain details prove otherwise

c!Dream enthusiasts; this was the only and biggest problem I've had since being introduced to much more rational interpretations of the character - which is emotions, and one of the biggest reasons why c!Dream gets dehumanized in the first place; the fact that we have little to no showcase or explanation of them in canon.

You see, c!Dream is a reserved character. He likes withholding his plans, withholding his feelings and information from the world.

However, since all we can really get out of watching his actions alone is the rational side (and that is deliberate by both the writer and the character, narratively and personality-wise) people slowly begin to assume there is no emotional side to his actions at all.

Which I find,, untrue. Between the people who erase the rational side of the character and those who erase the emotional side, there is little middle ground, but I don't really find either of them right either.

Because neither would be an accurate representation; just because he doesn't actively showcase his feelings doesn't mean he doesn't have them, and the few inconsistencies that are too small a detail for us to put everything together show that he does have an inner emotional world beyond what we see.

The character does work beyond what we know, and expecting that everything can be explained purely by rationality because that's all we see of him seems a little bit jumping the gun.

It leads to a less person-like view of a character who in reality simply doesn't like showing people the way he feels, and I don't really find that fair to him. It is best to accept there are things we can't say for sure, or to say an emotional interpretation can also be valid at times.

It is both important not to deny him agency and not to deny him the ability to be genuinely hurt by others or changed by his environment.

Both of these can coexist, especially in

the correct interpretation

Ok this is a joke.

I have literally no idea. I'm just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks - he confuses me beyond belief. The only person who knows about both the emotional and rational side of the character enough to have their interpretation unquestioned is cc!Dream - but when we do try to find answers, it is important for us as well that we do not ignore any aspects or possible aspects of the character, because that is the only way to get useful results out of our analysis.

Sorry this was crit of basically every take about the character I have ever seen but I needed to get my thoughts out.
