Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal had an extension a few years back, now either 240 or 220m long. And there’s now a really ugly “dolphin” mooring added in Campbells Cove.
I’m enjoying the off season as when there are cruise ships, the public can’t access to wharf.

When you accepted your new position, you didn’t expect that two days later you would be on your very first business trip. Ever. Like at all!
It’s exciting. It’s not only your first trip overseas for work but your first trip across any border. You’re as happy to get use out of your passport as you are to have the new experiences. You don’t know, however, how much you’ll be able to enjoy any of it. It’s still work after all.
You stand at the luggage belt as your phone vibrates. It’s your boss, Mr. Fowler, once more asking you where you are. The car’s already there. It’s not your fault the elite class flyers got off first and you’re stuck searching for your bags among the sea of coach passengers.
‘Will be there shortly, sir. Just coming through customs.’
It’s a small lie but you don’t think he’ll be impressed to hear you’re struggling to find your bag. It’s not very big but it should be easy to find. A round plastic suitcase in a shade of sunflower you can’t miss. You think it’d be obvious amid the black and black suitcases milling along on the conveyor belt.
You see the plastic slats part and your bag shines bright, like a beacon calling to you. You race forward and grab onto the handle. You accidentally press the button with your thumb so the handle extends and you’re dragged along awkwardly as you struggle to lift it.
Another passenger approaches to remove his heavy black bag but doesn’t walk away before helping you. You thank him with a smile. He’s older, maybe your grandpa’s age, and he assures you it’s no problem. He walks off and you plant the wheels of your bag straight, swerving around as you follow the signs.
You bring your phone up again and read Mr. Fowler’s next impatient text.
‘Take the cab fare off your per diem.’
Right. You’re not surprised. From what you know of your boss so far, he’s a stickler. He knows what he wants and he doesn’t settle for less. While he can be charming, even accommodating, he can also be terrifyingly stern. One moment he has that smile that makes his eyes twinkle and the next, his jaw is set and danger darkens his features. The very memory of that expression makes you shiver.
You suppose it’s your own fault. You should’ve considered the job description a bit closer. An executive assistant does a lot more than just the typical secretary. The pay itself was proof enough. Can you really complain? The perks include free trips!
You try to stay as positive as you can, ignoring your mother’s voice as it sneaks into the back of your head. She always has something negative to say. She could win the lottery and complain about the trouble of claiming her winnings.
You make your way through the terminal and into the atrium, passing by new arrivals and waiting departures. You check your smart watch, you’ll get in your steps for sure, and hurry as the minutes tick by. You follow the flow outside and find a spot along the pick up area, waving down a taxi as your phone buzzes again.
‘Don’t show up without scotch’.
The message is terse. You can only assume the flight was less than accommodating. You spent your time in coach looking out at the clouds or catching up on the adventures in Westeros. Terribly depressing books but it only makes reality a little less so.
You get into a taxi and ask the driver to take you to a liquor store. He doesn’t seem to understand you. Oh, boy. You pull up Google translate on your phone and speak into it, setting it to translate into the native language. You let the speaker play the text to voice. The driver nods and starts the meter.
Okay, not bad. You’re figuring this out. If anything, Mr. Fowler has to give you points for effort, right?
You ask the taxi to wait as you run in and find yourself faced with shelves of bottles and cans. This is the hard part, you’re not much of a drinker. With the help of Google, you ask the clerk for a bottle of scotch and pay with the company card. You’re right back out to the taxi.
Everything is so fast, you feel like you’re still catching up. You’re doing things. Every minute matters. You feel important, probably for the first time in your life. No more sitting behind a desk yawning, you’re tired for good reason.
You give the hotel name next and let yourself relax. Just for a little. Your eyes drift to the traffic outside the taxi, the voices all around, the dimming of the sky as the city sets to evening. It’s beautiful and new and wonderful.
The driver lets you off in front of the hotel. You’re greeted by a valet who offers to take your bag. You try to refuse but he insists, so you let him and follow him inside. As you enter, another man approaches.
You’re confused at first. He’s tall, blonde, and dressed as if he’s a businessman visiting on his own sojourn. You look around, thinking he might be headed for someone behind you. No, it’s only you. You turn back and find his blue eyes centered on you as he stops before you.
“Miss, welcome,” he lilts in his refined accent, “may I have your name so we may get you checked in?”
“Oh, yes, thanks, uh, sir. Actually, first, my, er… my boss is here. I think. He must’ve shown up twenty minutes ago. Erm, Mr. Fowler. I have, a oh,” you look down at the bottle in your hands, “I have this for him.”
“Wonderful,” he eyes the bottle, “Izak,” he addresses the valet, “Fowler.”
He takes the bottle from you without resistance. There’s something about his confidence that has you frozen. He hands it to the valet, Izak, and sends him off. You smile and give a nervous chuckle.
“You didn’t have to do that,” you rub the back of your neck.
“That is my job. I’m at your service, miss. Jonathan Pine, manager,” he offers his hand.
You shake it, doing your best to keep a firm grip. His fingers are so long that your hand feels tiny in his. He lets you go as you rescind your hand, crossing one arm over your stomach as you cup your other elbow, playing with the button of your blouse.
“Your name, miss?”
“Oh, duh,” you clutch the front of your blouse and eke out your name.
“Great, this way,” he beckons you with him and leads you to a round desk. He steps behind and types as his blue eyes reflect the screen. “I assume you’re here on business. You mentioned your boss is in another accommodation.”
“Yes, uh, my first business trip,” you almost wiggle with delight, “I’ve never even stayed in a hotel, you know?”
“Well, then I hope your stay is exceptional,” he smiles as he clicks around, giving a thoughtful hum, “allow me to make your first a special one,” he intones, “I’ve upgraded you to a suite.”
“A suite? Oh, but–”
“No additional fee. It will remain at the rate of your previous room,” his eyes flick to you.
“Wow, that’s… do I sound that pathetic?”
“Pathetic? Not at all, miss.”
You chew your lip and sway back and forth, crossing both arms across your chest. You don’t know what to say. He’s so nice that it almost feels patronizing. Or you’re just insecure.
“Allow me to show you your suite,” he comes out from behind the desk, holding out a small black folio.
You take it and look inside, two cards and a little insert with tiny text on it. You bring your hands down to fold over your stomach and back up to let him lead you. He struts along with you to the elevator and hits the button. He gestures you in first and follows.
“You haven’t traveled before?” He asks.
“Not really. We used to go camping but not far from home. Then we didn’t go anywhere. I’ve been working since, er, college, so… this is my first chance.”
“Well, the world is vast and not all are so lucky as to venture beyond their front door. It’s truly a privilege,” he says. The doors ding and parts, again, he waits for you to go ahead of him.
You step out and check the folio. You read the number and match it to a door at the far end of the hall. He’s right behind you as you get to the suite.
“Shall I show you around?” He asks as you stop on either side of the doorframe.
“Erm, sure, why not?” You shrug.
“Might I?” He points to your hands and you give him the folio.
He takes out a card and holds it up, “these can be unfortunately finicky. You must make sure you hold it so,” he shows you how to position it and slides it through the slot beside the handle. The red light turns green and the door unlocks. “Please,” he opens the door and nods you inside.
You enter as he follows. The door slowly closes as he lets it go and he slips the card back into the folio. He puts it on the corner table beside the door and taps it with his fingertips.
“You’ll find the wireless information in there along with the room service details and our continental breakfast times,” he explains, “if you’ve any questions, you may call the front desk.”
“Thank you,” you smile.
“Let me briefly go over the rest of your amenities and I’ll leave you in peace,” he avows as he waves you further inside, “a full bath,” he stops at the doorway to his left, “there are jets built in, rather useful after a long flight.”
You give a polite laugh and he presses on. He guides you through the suite; a kitchenette, a mini bar, a sitting space, a bedroom, a balcony, and a key to the private pool. You thank him again.
He goes back to the door, about to leave but pausing at the door, “if you require anything, you may ask for me. Jonathan, remember.”
“Jonathan,” you repeat.
He nods and steps out into the hall, gently closing the door behind him. You feel another buzz in your pocket. Shoot! Mr. Fowler.
‘Scotch is here. Where are you?’
You cringe and hurry out of the room. You should’ve known better. There was just a lot happening at once. You hurry down the hall and stop short of the elevator. You don’t know where his room is.
‘On my way, sir. Where is your room?’
You key in the message, awkwardly lingering as you wait for his response.
‘Not there. In restaurant. Two minutes.’
You push your head back. You really just want to go back to the room and jump into that giant bed. A full queen to yourself. That’s actual heaven. You answer, affirming your obedience and head for the elevator.
You get down to the lobby and once more find yourself lost. You have that problem, not thinking two steps ahead. As you look around, you see the valet, Izak.
“Hi, uh, is there a restaurant around here?” You ask sheepishly.
“Yes, miss, right through there,” he points towards the rear of the lobby to a wide archway crested with a point.
You thank Izak and scurry across the lobby. You put your phone away as you enter the restaurant and a server approaches you. They ask if you want a table for one and you explain that you’re meeting your boss. She points him out and asks you if you’d like a drink. You assume you won’t be staying for dinner so you pass.
As you near his table, Mr. Fowler doesn’t look up. You stop just across from him and wring your hands. You wait for him to say something but he’s focused on the menu.
“Sorry, sir, I was just checking in–”
“Sit,” he demands.
“Right, thanks,” you sit and grip the edge of the table, “it was very busy at the airport and I had to stop on the way for your scotch–”
“But no time to bring it yourself?” He challenges as he sets the menu down, finally looking at you, “I have a colleague meeting me here shortly.” His eyes dip briefly as he eyes your blouse, “hm, you didn’t change?”
“Like I was saying, sir, I didn’t have a chance yet–”
“Undo your top button,” he waves off your excuses as he sits back and grabs the short glass of scotch in front of him.
“Sir?”
“You look like a nun,” he retorts, “just one button, sweetheart.”
You furrow your brow but pop your top button open. It doesn’t show very much but it still feels wrong. You sit back and peer around the restaurant. The din is quiet and the lightning soft and warm.
“Um, so, you want me to stay for dinner?”
“You leave when I dismiss you,” he says curtly.
“Yes, sir, I understand,” you reply.
“Stop fidgeting,” he clucks, “try to sit still.”
“Yes, sir,” your voice shrinks.
He sighs and stares at you, “smile, okay? This is an important dinner.”
“Right,” you force a smile, cheeks trembling.
All the excitement, all your former optimism, slowly slakes away. You get the churning anxiety in your stomach. The same sensation that kept you in bed a few minutes past your alarm. You’re only a few days in, you can do this.
“Fowler,” a voice booms across the restaurant as footfalls approach.
Your boss stands and you scramble to do the same. He shakes the hand of another man as you turn to face his acquaintance. It must be his aforementioned colleague.
“Hansen,” Fowler counters as their handshake becomes a battle, “about time.”
“Pfft, you were always boring. You gotta get out, buddy. Especially around here. I’ll give you a few names. There’s a sweet girl down at the spa–” the man, Hansen coughs, stopping himself midsentence as his eyes fall to you, “oh? And this is?”
“New assistant.” Fowler sits and pushes the tails of his jacket back.
You give your name as Hansen puts his hand out again. Instead of shaking yours, he takes it and kisses it in a very old-fashioned gesture, though something about his demeanour is sleazy.
“Lloyd,” he winks as he clings to your hand, “Mr. Hansen is so boring. Makes me sound like an old man.”
You smile and repeat his name.
“What happened to Bennet?” He turns and claims the third chair. You lower yourself, content to be peripheral to their reunion.
“Gone,” is all Fowler says as his eyes meet yours, “so, what’re you drinking, Hansen?”

Under A Blue Hawaiian Moon (Miles Miller x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Miles are excited to be going on your honeymoon and can't wait for all the things that await you
Warnings: SMUT 18+ rules apply, breeding kink, etc.
Tagging: @floydsmuse @attapullman @delopsia @callmemana
You and Miles were both nervous and excited as ever to be going on your honeymoon, the memories of your wedding from the night before still fresh in your minds.
You were waiting at the gate for your plane, his father having gone off to grab some food for you, Miles, Kathy and himself before seeing you off. Miles gave your hand a reassuring and excited squeeze, eager to get on the plane and head for Hawaii.
"You excited (y/n)?" he asked.
"More than I've ever been," you chuckled.
Miles pressed a soft, lingering kiss to your lips, his leg twitching with anticipation. Finally, Otis came back with food from one of the restaurants, much to your relief.
"Well, it's not much," he said. "It's the least your mom and I can do for you two."
"Not a problem Dad," Miles answered. "I remember the days back at the hotel when I hardly had a meal."
"And your grandmother would've been horrified had she found out," Otis said, laughing a little. "She'd have you back at the house with a plate full of pot roast, mashed potatoes and her baked carrots waiting for you."
You and Miles both laughed at the thought. Though you had never met Grandma Essie, you still heard all about her crazy stories from Kathy and Otis, wishing with all hope you had been able to meet her.
The four of you ate your mini meals together, watching the planes take off and land. Occasionally you saw a man in uniform stepping off the plane to meet his family, sometimes by himself, other times with a young woman he had met and married overseas. Miles readily recognized an old friend from his army unit coming through the terminal accompanied by his wife, a young Vietnamese girl, and their newborn baby daughter. Miles introduced you and his parents, the young couple staying to talk for a while until their cab came.
"Attention passengers, Pan-Am Flight Eight-Eighty-One to Honolulu Hawaii will now be boarding," the woman at the desk announced.
"That's us," Miles said.
"Alright kiddo, you take care," Otis said, pulling his son in for a hug.
"You too, Dad," Miles replied. "Don't work too hard."
"Hey, telling your father to not work hard is wishful thinking Miles," Kathy chuckled.
"And he's telling that to the idiot who can't sit still for more than five minutes," Otis laughed.
Miles laughed and gave his mother a hug before leading you to the doors to catch the bus to the plane. You both waved goodbye to Otis and Kathy, the anticipation of getting off the ground filling you both from head to toe.
You followed the other passengers up the stairway and into the plane, taking your seats after stowing your suitcases in the overhead. You and Miles closed your eyes and held tightly onto each other's hands as the plane took off down the runway, only leveling out a few minutes later.
“'I thought that Elves were all for moon and stars: but this is more elvish than anything I ever heard tell of. I feel as if I was inside a song, if you take my meaning.' said Samwise” Miles read.
You could've listened to his voice for hours, but you were far too tired. Miles laughed softly as he pulled the blanket over you and tucked you in alongside him. "Get some sleep my sweet pea," he whispered, kissing your temple. "We'll be there in the morning."
You smiled sweetly, taking his hand in yours as you both fell asleep to the hum of the plane. Morning came soon enough with one of the stewardesses waking you and Miles just as the sun was coming up.
"Miles," you whispered. "Miles look!"
Miles peered out the window next to your seats to see a small sliver of land coming into view from below. You both excitedly gasped when you recognized what it was......Hawaii.
**************************
You and Miles could hardly believe how beautiful Hawaii really was until you started exploring the island. You and Miles found all sorts of secluded little beaches and hideaway restaurants in places you wouldn't have expected. You thought you would be staying in the honeymoon suite at a nice hotel, but Miles had other ideas.
The beach cottage was absolute heaven, something you would have seen in a Home And Garden magazine at the grocery store with its big wrap-round lanai and huge banyan trees that gave plenty of shade. Flowers bloomed everywhere in huge bursts of color and in the distance you could see and hear the ocean.
"Oh Miles, this place is beautiful," you gasped.
"Wait till later sweetheart," he said, placing a kiss on your cheek.
You and Miles entered the cool, airy house with its sweeping views of the garden and the beach nearby, the teakwood and rattan furniture giving the place an air of relaxation, something you both desperately needed.
You and Miles stowed your luggage away in the master bedroom and decided to go for a swim in the ocean. You, yourself could hardly take your eyes off of Miles in his tight dark-grey shorts and the gentle swells of his muscles that had come again with the hard work of helping his father run the ranch back in Montana.
You two didn't hesitate to run into the surf, the two of you feeling like children again as the waves rose and fell, carrying you with it, just a little further from the shore. You and Miles bodysurfed your way in and out of the shore, the cool ocean washing the heat from the both of you.
A few of the locals joined you, teaching you both how to surf. You and Miles both fell at least a thousand times before you got back up again, riding the waves until you both grew tired and hungry.
You and Miles went for dinner at a place right on the ocean, your dinner having been caught that morning, grilled with blackening spices and served fresh with a side of steaming white rice and mango and pineapple salsa. When you had both had enough, you and Miles went back to the cottage.
"Mmmm so tired," he hummed.
"C'mere my sweet," you purred.
You kissed him with Miles happily returning the gesture, your hands roaming all over each other and grabbing at the loose little pieces of each other's clothing. Miles deepened it, the salty taste of dinner still on his lips and his tongue as you elicited a moan from his throat.
"Baby," he mumbled under his breath. "My sweet, sweet baby I love you."
You smiled into the kiss, your hand roaming to his neck as your fingertips gently ran down his skin to the buttons on the front of his white shirt. One by one, your nimble fingers undid them, breaking away from the kiss to notice that Miles wasn't wearing a white t-shirt underneath.
Your kissing trailed from his mouth to his neck and all down his chest, parting the white fabric of his shirt just slightly so that you could kiss the little indents in Miles's chest. His moaning was starting to gather that familiar wetness between your legs, even as you pushed his shirt off him.
"Bed....." Miles mumbled. "Bed.....please.....baby.....please lemme lay down......wanna feel you."
You gladly obliged, laying on your back when you were suddenly met with a look from Miles. "No no baby," he said, kissing your cheek. "Want you to ride me."
He rolled over and shifted you so that you were on top of him. He helped you off with your dress and anything else that might have concealed the parts of you that he loved. The last thing to come off were his pants and his shorts, the two of you fully naked in front of each other.
"C'mon sweetheart," Miles said, guiding you down onto his cock. "Don't be scared, you're alright......there we go......good......good girl.....oh look at you.....easy......easy now......"
You gasped a little when you felt him entering you, He was so warm.....and big.....God he was big.
"Miles.....Miles I......"
"Shhhh, it's ok," he said. "You need some help?"
You nodded.
Miles's hands gently gripped your hips, guiding you to make yourself feel more comfortable. "There we go sweetpea......" he said. "That's it.....back and forth.....back and forth......"
A pleasureable moan fell from your lips as he guided you, moving and shifting with your own movements. You both picked up the pace as Miles sat up, your kissing becoming heated, needy and wanting, your hips rocking against each other, desperate for each other's warm friction.
"C'mon baby, harder," Miles panted. "Harder......wanna fill you up so much......give you a honeymoon baby......c'mon baby....."
The filthy things Miles whispered into your ears drove you over the edge, your whimpers, moans and noises growing louder until you both came with each other. Your head came to rest against his shoulder, the explosion of warmth rising into your belly as your heavy breathing had become one.
"You did so good sweetpea," Miles panted. "M'so proud of you."
You giggled as he kissed you. Miles went into the bathroom and turned on the water before he helped you in, filling it with a sweet smelling grapefruit bubble soap.
"Feel better sweetheart?" he asked.
"So much better," you sighed.
The two of you washed each other off in the steaming hot water before crawling back into bed. You both went to sleep with the windows open, listening to the peepers and the ocean waves in the distance, snuggled close together until the morning sun rose again and you awoke side by side with the man you loved.

Millbrae, CA (No. 2)
The City and County of San Francisco first leased 150 acres (61 ha) at the present airport site on March 15, 1927, for what was then to be a temporary and experimental airport project. San Francisco held a dedication ceremony at the airfield, officially named the Mills Field Municipal Airport of San Francisco, on May 7, 1927, on the 150-acre cow pasture. The land was leased from the Mills Estate in an agreement made with Ogden L. Mills who oversaw the large tracts of property originally acquired by his grandfather, the banker Darius O. Mills. San Francisco purchased the property and the surrounding area expanding the site to 1,112 acres (450 ha) beginning in August 1930. The airport's name was officially changed to San Francisco Airport in 1931 upon the purchase of the land. "International" was added at the end of World War II as overseas service rapidly expanded.
The earliest scheduled carriers at the airport included Western Air Express, Maddux Air Lines, and Century Pacific Lines. United Airlines was formed in 1934 and quickly became the key carrier at the airport, with Douglas DC-3 service to Los Angeles and New York beginning in January 1937. A new passenger terminal opened in 1937, built with Public Works Administration funding. The March 1939 Official Aviation Guide shows 18 airline departures on weekdays—seventeen United flights and one TWA flight. The August 1952 chart shows runway 1L 7,000 feet long, 1R 7,750 feet, 28L 6,500 feet, and 28R 8,870 feet.
In addition to United, Pacific Seaboard Air Lines flew between San Francisco and Los Angeles in 1933; the Bellanca CH-300s flew San Francisco–San Jose–Salinas–Monterey–Paso Robles–San Luis Obispo–Santa Maria–Santa Barbara–Los Angeles. Competition with United led Pacific Seaboard to move all of its operations to the eastern U.S., and rename itself Chicago and Southern Air Lines (C&S). It became a large domestic and international air carrier. Chicago & Southern was acquired by and merged into Delta Air Lines in 1953, giving Delta its first international routes.[14] Delta used the route authority inherited from C&S to fly one of its first international services operated with Convair 880 jet aircraft from San Francisco to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and Caracas, Venezuela, via intermediate stops in Dallas and New Orleans in 1962.

Treading the Balance with Dr Kerryn Phelps

Treading the Balance with Dr Kerryn Phelps
Tumblr media
Dr Kerryn Phelps’ religious marriage to her wife Jackie in New York in 1998 and subsequent outing in the media really stated the debate around marriage equality in Australia before it was on the radar of even many people within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Dr Phelps has now released Power of Balance, a memoir of both her personal life and life in the public eye, and gave this exclusive interview to QNews.
QNews: Even by the early 2000s there was still opposition to the idea of marriage equality from within the LGBTQIA+ community where some people feared that gay people marrying would turn us heteronormative or that non monogamous and polyamorous people would be slut shamed. None of that really came to pass. Can you talk about that?
Dr Kerryn Phelps: When Jackie and I said we were going to New York to get married in 1998 we knew that it wouldn’t be legal anywhere in the world. That was a very personal decision, and something that we shared with family and friends. But it very soon became public knowledge.
We were in the situation of being the first couple in Australia to be publicly talking about the need for marriage equality, and a need for recognition of long term relationships for those people who wanted their relationships recognised in that way.
I do remember the varying views in the community about that and that it did actually take a bit of time for everyone to be on the same page.
It’s been 20 years since John Howard banned same-sex marriage. That was really framed at the time as a way to prevent same-sex couples from adopting overseas. How did that make you feel as a parent?
The main thing that 2004 change to the Marriage Act did was to stop same-sex couples who had been legally married in places like Canada from having their marriages recognised in Australia.
It was cutting off the option to use the marriage laws in other countries to have those relationships recognised as opposite-sex couples were able to if their marriages were performed overseas.
There were also same-sex couples who were raising children through various ways of forming families. Some had children before the relationship so they wanted recognition of step parents or co-parents, or there were couples who were fostering and wanting to adopt, where they were only allowed to adopt as single people.
There was a situation where some types of families were given recognition and rights and others weren’t and that wasn’t fair to the children or the parents.
There was an incident I remember from around 2010 that didn’t make it into the book- an Australian Marriage Equality fundraising dinner in the overseas passenger terminal at Circular Quay where a guest started choking and you had to jump in to clear their airways to save them. Do you remember that?
I do! I’d heard about the heimlich manoeuvre in my medical training but it was the first time in my career as a doctor that I had the necessity to use that skill. So I was very glad that I was there but I’ve never had to use it again since that night. You describe in the book about how you became an early believer in the medical use of cannabis. Can you tell me about that?
I was a medical reporter for the Today show on the Nine Network and I arranged a trip to the US to report on a number of stories.
I went to the Mayo Clinic, and interviewed the cast of ER which had recently started on Nine in Australia.
I also visited California which was in the process of legalising medicinal cannabis.
I interviewed legislators, medicinal users of cannabis, doctors who were prescribing it. I visited a cannabis club in San Francisco and I saw how that whole system was working.
That really transformed my view about the need for medicinal cannabis to be regulated and used as a part of the treatments that we’re able to offer people who had intractable symptoms that weren’t able to be treated in any other way.
That was really an important first hand experience of speaking to people who are directly affected and who had benefited from it. Australia has now legalised medical cannabis. But the cost of patients can sometimes be as much if not more than accessing marijuana from illegal sources. Do you think medical cannabis products should be subsidised under the PBS?
It’s something for the PBS to look at. There are a lot of people who are gaining benefits where it is being prescribed as a medication and I think under certain circumstances it would be helpful for people who need to take medicinal cannabis to have support from the PBS for that cost. Do you think Australia will legalise recreational cannabis in the future and Is that something you’d support?
Cannabis is not a harmless drug. It has known adverse health effects like bronchitis, cardiovascular damage and mental health impacts.
That said, the current system of regulation does need a review. Criminal penalties for personal use can be counterproductive. Cannabis use should be treated as a health issue and not a criminal justice issue.
If people are using cannabis to self-medicate, I would encourage them to speak to their doctor and if medicinal cannabis is the most appropriate evidence-based treatment for them, they could be provided with a prescription.
In the book, you talk about how you helped Magda Szubanski come out in 2012 so that she could support the marriage equality campaign. Could you talk about that?
Magda had been considering it for some time and I had a number of private conversations with her about it. In the end we had a meeting at Jackie’s parents’ place. Alex Greenwich was there, myself, Jackie, and Magda.
We discussed how and when she could do that because she really wanted to lend her support to the marriage equality campaign and so we made a decision that it would be on The Project and it would be live and I suggested that it would be Valentines Day which was just a few months away.
Magda’s coming out was really transformative to the marriage equality campaign because she has that warm and clever and funny way of putting things, and it made the Australian people really want to become involved in that campaign.
In the book you recount a few run-ins that you’ve had with former Liberal Senator Bill Heffernan. Does he really introduce himself as “the devil” when he calls people?
Yes, he did that to us. Jackie picked up the call and said there’s someone on the line who says he’s the devil. And it was Bill Heffernan.
What were the high points of your time as the Member of Wentworth?
Winning the by-election unexpectedly with a historic swing of almost 20 percent which was thought to be impossible in a suburban blue ribbon Liberal seat.
We’d seen Cathy McGowan do that in Indi and Rebekha Sharkie do that in Mayo but that hadn’t been done before in an urban setting.
Then when we had the power balance after Julia Banks left the Liberal Party to go to the crossbench, we were able to pass the Medevac legislation. That gave a renewed focus on the way Australia treats refugees who need medical attention.
So within months of that byelection all of the children and their families were removed from Nauru, some of them who had been there for years. The consumption of alcohol by Australian politicians has been in the news. What do you think needs to change around that?
I didn’t witness it personally but I had an office that was alcohol free.
People do work long hours in parliament. They will quite often have dinner on the job, so people might have a glass of wine with dinner as you would in the dining room.
I don’t think that a ban on alcohol in parliament is the way to go but I do think there needs to be a Code of Conduct around alcohol.
The other thing to look at is under what circumstances alcohol is available at functions in parliament and I think the government has been working on an alcohol strategy around that.

Most of this scene is pretty self explanatory - cloud, dawn, Sydney Harbour, Opera House etc.
But do you know what the lump in the water is?
Now that cruise ships are so large, the Overseas Passenger Terminal had to be extended, and a new mooring point built out in the water.
Ruins my clear shots.

International Business Travel Made Easy with Corporate Airport Shuttle Services
In the fast-paced world of international business, efficiency & convenience are paramount. When it comes to international travel, especially for corporate purposes, ensuring a seamless journey is crucial.
One of the often-overlooked aspects of a successful international business trip is airport transportation. This is where corporate airport shuttle services come into play, making international business travel easy, and stress-free.
Reliability and Punctuality
International flights often follow tight schedules, and any delay can have a domino effect on your entire trip. Corporate airport shuttle services are renowned for their reliability and punctuality. They are designed to coordinate with your flight schedule, ensuring you arrive at the airport well in advance, allowing time for check-in and security procedures.
Stress Reduction
International business travel can be stressful, with a myriad of details to manage. Knowing that your airport transportation is taken care of by a professional shuttle service can significantly reduce stress. You can focus on your work and travel objectives rather than worrying about navigating unfamiliar traffic or relying on public transportation.
Door-to-Door Convenience
Corporate airport shuttle services offer door-to-door convenience. They pick you up at your desired location and drop you off directly at the airport terminal. This eliminates the need for parking and the hassle of lugging your luggage through long airport parking lots or terminals.
Group Travel Made Easy
For businesses sending multiple employees on international trips, coordinating transportation can be a logistical nightmare. Corporate airport transfers can efficiently transport your entire group, ensuring everyone arrives together and on time.
Cost-Efficiency
Although it might appear that securing a shuttle service is an extra cost, it frequently turns out to be a more economical choice compared to individual transportation options. By opting for a shuttle, you can distribute the expense among your fellow travellers and avoid the necessity for multiple rental cars or rideshare services.
Local Knowledge
Shuttle drivers are often locals who know the area well. They can navigate traffic and road conditions to ensure you reach the airport efficiently.
Safety and Security
Corporate airport shuttle services prioritize passenger safety and security. You can have peace of mind knowing that you are in capable hands.
Conclusion
While international business travel can present a multifaceted challenge, it doesn't need to be anxiety-inducing. Corporate airport shuttle services present a straightforward and effective remedy for the frequently disregarded matter of airport transportation. By availing of these services, you can simplify your travel experience, alleviate stress, and guarantee that you arrive at your overseas destination fully prepared to address your business goals. Opt for a corporate airport shuttle service to make your forthcoming international business trip smooth and trouble-free.

Tuesday 8th August
Well it is finally departure day👏. I am writing this sitting at Perth Airport waiting to board. Arrived half an our earlier than the 2 hrs required and as usual haven’t regretted it! There are a few tricks for young players catching Virgin flights to Christmas Island!! Virgin I thought was the only airline flying to Christmas but I noticed that Singapore Airlines was listed as going also. Not sure if a. Departure board issue or whether they go via on way to Indonesia🤷‍♀️.
Eg Virgin does leave from terminal one however although that is the International terminal Virgin also departs its domestic flights from the same terminal. Hence my arriving expecting to check in as a domestic flight(Christmas is an Australian Territory so hardly international!). You would however be wrong! I tried to do the self check in at the domestic end but my destination didn’t show s couldn’t c,heck in. As usual in any airport there is a dearth of real people to help. Given I was checking in outside of the 2hr prior to departure I assumed I was too early. So I decided to go. The toilet which was down the international end. Good thing I did ! I accidentally came upon a separate real person check in counter or Christmas/Cocos! No do it yourself check with real and very fast! Would never have known had I not stumbled upon it! Having received my boarding pass and gate off I continued toward international terminal for my delayed toilet stop. Next surprise was when I looked for my gate and to my surprise it is at the international end of the airport. Even at checkin they didn’t mention that although the. Christmas check in is at the International end🤷‍♀️. Because it is at International you have to go through border control. Here I was faced with the usual passport scan gate things and to one side a walk through with no gate required and where you went straight to the border force person doing checks. No sign who went where until a border force person asked were I was going and when said Christmas directed to the walk through to the order force person,no gate. Another travel oddity specific to Christmas!. Then usual security and back to normal!
Given Virgin doesn’t supply free food or drink have had to bring some and buy a roll. Cheaper than paying on board and probably better (I hope).
Addit: the virgin checkin person commented when I mentioned I was concerned I might be bit over the 23kg weight limit, that they allow up to nearly a kg more before worry.
Christmas flight
Well continues to be interesting. Due depart 1230 and boarding not until just before 1300 and take off not until after 1330! Another unexpected occurrence and one not warned about! You have to fill in and incoming passenger to Australia for with all the food issues etc! As we are still in Australia I am perplexed. However thinking about it it is possible I suppose that passengers could have transited in Perth from overseas flight though would have assumed they did the form on incoming flight! When I said to crew I didn’t have a pen she told me I would need to find one! Helpful not! Although the other ones were good.
Lucky that the passenger in my row had one and shared!
Couple positive things:
Flight had few spare seats so had spare middle seat
They did serve a half chicken wrap and a mini chocolate each and tea/coffee water and juice . I had a wrap before left airport so fueled up anyway 😁
Do have their WIFI you can log onto and get some movies using your own device but drops out alot (on this flight anyway).
ADDIT: other than the whole checking in information you don’t get told about remember to bring the following for the flight
Passport as have to record number on form
Pen to fill said form
Device if you want to stream their content
Ear plugs for said device.
Arrived
1725 Perth time or 1625 Island time.(will now talk island time)
Luggage collected 1730! Yes some delays.
Note that limited luggage trolleys. Hint is to be in front plane no further than seat 14 so can disembark early and grab trolleys
Got my luggage and my hire car no issue. No sat nav so just have a map to get to my accommodation. For those who know me and my infamous terrible sense of direction and inability to read a map it will come as no surprise I got comprehensively lost😁. Had a wonderful tour around and eventually found my accommodation. In my defense the map was not that accurate and when it came to the entrance to my unit it gave no information! Never say die and I just figured it out! Got here just on sunset! Now sitting at the pub 2 mins or less walk from my unit and right opposite the water. Really lovely. I am sitting on the pub veranda over looking the ocean in balmy evening slight breeze and waiting for my dinner and drinking a vodka and lime😁. I figured I deserved it!
Will send a photo of my hire car.Has seen better days but done plenty of driving in it now so getting it’s idiosyncratic ways😂.
Below sunset from the pub.
Tumblr media
The unit is basic but has a huge bathroom, toilet and laundry. Full kitchen facilities. You can lay in bed and look out over the ocean. Has a lovely veranda with table and chairs looking over the ocean. Mind you I nearly collapsed my pelvic floor getting my case up the steps into the unit 🤣.
I have an orientation tour tomorrow morning though could have done with that before today 😏🤣.
BTW had lamb sliders and chips and not too pricey.

Jetsetter’s Guide: Insider Tips Of Private Jet Charter
Jetsetter’s Guide: Insider Tips for Making the Most of Private Jet Charter
In the world of luxury travel, private jet charters have become increasingly popular among jetsetters seeking personalized and convenient travel experiences. If you’re someone who values time, flexibility, and comfort, then a private jet charter is the ultimate way to travel. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the realm of private jet charters, providing you with insider tips to make the most of your next luxurious journey.
How to Make the Most of Your Private Jet Charter?
Now that we’ve explored the advantages of the private jet charter, let’s delve into some insider tips to ensure you maximize your luxury travel experience:
1. Plan Ahead and Book Early
To secure the best options and ensure availability, it is advisable to plan your private jet charter well in advance. Especially during peak travel seasons or for popular destinations, booking early increases your chances of getting the aircraft of your choice and securing favorable rates.
2. Consider Empty Leg Flights
Empty-leg flights offer a unique opportunity to enjoy significant cost savings on your private jet charter. These flights occur when a private jet is returning to its base or flying to another destination without passengers. By booking an empty-leg flight, you can take advantage of heavily discounted rates while still enjoying the luxury and convenience of a private jet.
3. Communicate Your Preferences
When arranging your private jet charter, make sure to communicate your preferences to the charter provider. Whether it’s dietary requirements, specific amenities, or desired cabin layout, sharing your preferences in advance allows the provider to tailor the experience to your liking. This attention to detail ensures that every aspect of your journey is personalized and exceeds your expectations.
4. Optimize Time Efficiency
Private jet charters are renowned for their time-saving advantages. To further optimize your time efficiency, consider utilizing additional services such as helicopter transfers or chauffeur-driven ground transportation. These services seamlessly connect you from the airport to your final destination, minimizing travel time and maximizing your overall experience.
5. Embrace the Jetsetter Lifestyle
Traveling by private jet offers a unique opportunity to embrace the jetsetter lifestyle fully. Make the most of your journey by indulging in the luxury amenities provided on board. From gourmet catering to fine wines and champagnes, private jet charters ensure that your taste buds are tantalized throughout the flight. Additionally, take advantage of the onboard entertainment systems, relax in the spacious cabin, and enjoy unparalleled views from the sky.
6. Stay Informed About International Travel
It’s critical to be educated on the entrance procedures, customs rules, and any required visas for your destination if you intend to travel overseas by air. Private jet charter providers often have dedicated teams that can assist you with the necessary documentation and provide up-to-date information to ensure a smooth and hassle-free international travel experience.
7. Network and Establish Connections
Private jet terminals often provide exclusive lounges and amenities, creating an ideal environment for networking and establishing valuable connections. Take advantage of these opportunities to meet like-minded individuals, industry leaders, and potential business partners. Building relationships during your private jet travels can lead to exciting collaborations and opportunities in the future.
8. Consider Joining a Jet Card Program
If you frequently travel by private jet, joining a jet card program can offer significant benefits. Jet card programs provide access to a fleet of private jets with predetermined flight hours or credits. This membership-based approach offers flexibility, guaranteed availability, and other exclusive perks, making it a convenient option for regular private jet travelers.
9. Familiarize Yourself with Customs and Immigration Procedures
When traveling internationally, it’s essential to familiarize yourself with the customs and immigration procedures of your destination. Private jet charters often have dedicated staff who can assist you in navigating the customs and immigration process smoothly. Having the necessary documents prepared and understanding the requirements beforehand will save you time and ensure a hassle-free entry into your destination country.
10. Utilize Additional Services and Amenities
Private jet charter providers often offer a range of additional services and amenities to enhance your travel experience. These could include access to upscale airport lounges, personal stylists, in-flight spa services, and upscale automobile rentals. Take advantage of these offerings to elevate your journey and make it truly unforgettable.
11. Stay Hydrated and Relax
Flying can often be dehydrating, so it’s important to stay hydrated throughout your private jet charter. Drink plenty of water during the flight to keep yourself refreshed and avoid the discomfort of dry cabin air. Additionally, take advantage of the spacious cabin and comfortable seating to relax and unwind during your journey. Use the opportunity to catch up on rest or engage in calming activities such as reading or listening to soothing music.
12. Stay Connected with the Charter Provider
Maintaining a good relationship with your private jet charter provider can bring long-term benefits. Stay connected with them and keep them informed about your future travel plans. They can provide you with updates on the latest offerings, new destinations, and any special promotions that might be of interest to you. By staying in touch, you can ensure that you are always aware of the best opportunities for your luxury travel needs.
13. Share Your Experience and Provide Feedback
After your private jet charter experience, don’t hesitate to share your feedback with the charter provider. Your input is valuable in helping them enhance their services and further improve the overall experience for future travelers. Additionally, share your positive experiences on social media or travel review platforms to help others make informed decisions when considering private jet charters.
Conclusion
In conclusion, private jet charters provide an exceptional travel experience that is tailored to your needs. The convenience, flexibility, and luxurious amenities associated with private jet travel elevate your journey to new heights. By following the insider tips outlined in this guide, you can unlock the full potential of a private jet charter and embark on unforgettable adventures with ease. In the ending, Tenma has been taking care of Karasuma who has amnesia for several months. There is no denying that School Rumble's popularity was driven by its development as a Harima-centered love comedy, and the author also threw a lot of rice cakes in that respect, so the ending and development did not meet the expectations of m앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화any readers who empathized with it. The fundamental problem with Anger for <<> is that the writers made the development so sick that Tenma's sincerity or innocence did not stand out at all. It can be said that the character suffered the most damage due to the lack of competence. Hyundai Motor Company's front-wheel drive-based semi-mid-size sedan. Officially, it refers to all car names commercially available in Korea, from the second-generation model of Elantra. It was the firs앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화t Hyundai Motor Company vehicle to exceed 10 million sales in October 2014.[10] In other words, it can be said that it is the model that boasts the highest sales volume in the world among Korean-made vehicles. In Korea, it is a best-selling car and a top seller that competes with K3 for the first place in annual and monthly sales in the passenger car category.[11] It is a global best-selling model that goes back and forth around the 5th place in sales in the same segment overseas. Since March 16, 1995, it has been produced in Yangjeong-dong, Buk-gu, Ulsan Metropolitan City (Hyundai Motors Ulsan Pla앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화nt 3), and from the 5th generation Avante MD, it is also produced in Alabama, USA.
Along with Sonata and Grandeur, it is one of the three representative sedan lineups of Hyundai Motor Company.
Avante itself was an extension of the Elantra project and continues to be sold under the name of Elantra in foreign countries. So, Hyundai Motor Company not only includes the Elantra era in the official history of Avante, but also includes Elantra in the history of Avante in various automobile programs in Korea, just like the automobile programs in the United States an앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화d Europe. Of course, the fact that the total sales volume exceeded 10 million units was calculated from the days of Elantra. So, Hyundai Motor Company officially classifies the current Avante CN "7" as the 7th generation. This will continue into the next generation.
In the case of the Sonata's front-wheel drive platform, it supports vehicles of the mid-size or higher class[12], but in the case of the Avante's front-wheel drive platform, it supports the body of the semi-mid-size or lower class, excluding compact cars (including compact SUVs), such as the i30, Kona, Ioniq, Niro, Soul, and Cell. Toss, Veloster, K3, etc. are applicable.[13]
According to sales statistics in 2018, it ranks fourth in the US compact car market after Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Nissan Sentra. Traditionally, in the US compact car market, Corolla and Civic have been in a rivalry, but from the Avante HD, the evaluation gradually improves, and from the MD, the qu앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화ality is recognized to some extent, so it currently occupies the 4th place in the US market following them. Corolla and Civic are selling close to 30,000 units per month in North America, and about 10,000 Elantra. For reference, the fifth place is Cruise, which was developed under the leadership of GM Korea.[14] However, due to the strength of the SUV and the harsh criticism of the triangular design, it has slowed 앤트맨과 와스프 퀀텀매니아 다시 보기 2023 영화down a lot compared to the past. [15] Here, for the first time in history, the sales volume of K3 in the United States exceeded the Avante.
