whats the deal with greene man who is he why is he and where is he

He’s an oc from a few months back, developed world lore and his lore, this was a thing I did together with my friends as well

Was basically all I drew for months

For a quick rundown, basically the story is based in the future. It’s super dystopian, massive cities where there is the EXTREME WEALTH and then the EXTREME POOR. In this future medicine is all whacked out, so people can go in and just get their limbs replaced no questions asked where it came from. Since poor people aren’t real the lower classes were typically pulled in for body part harvesting/experimentation to develop medicines or spliced beings.

These limbs/body parts tend to keep a sort of “memory” in a way. Say you got your arms replaced but the previous person who had those arms was like really good at origami, congrats you’re good at origami now. It might not make a whole lot of technical sense but. I dunno it’s a play on muscle memory!!!

Anyway for Greene specifically, he was a lower class as a kid and just got sucked into the experimental/harvesting stuff just cuz HE EXISTS. for him, the experimenting part was the idea of an outsider being able to experience and just peer into someone else's memories (i think it would be used regarding law and control stuff, may or may not have drawn inspiration from 1984 for that…) so he gets all brain scrambled and stuff

then some not poor person is like shlawg i want an eye and they are like hey we have those and thats why his face is stupid. he does have an eye but its a replacement one. and like i said limbs/organs hold a special sort of memory so that kinda extra makes him weird. he sees stuff! wowie! only sometimes… also he thinks he has a wife but like he doesnt. he is only 23 and has no interest in anyone he does not have a wife but sometimes hes like man i havent seen my wife in a while and everyone else is like haha ok buddy

So Ellio managed to return to his universe along with Vasily who came with him after fleeing as the Siberian Black Army (Vasily's home) collapsed from being conquered by a warlord state (that I will not mention for now), With nowhere else to go, he decided to work for the Toppats as that's the only place where he can make a living and Ellio recruiting him despite secretly despising the criminal activities they were doing to certain people. He is assigned to black market and organ harvesting duty along with other duties where he's accompanied by Ellio, Frederick, and Erick. In his free time, he would mostly spend it hanging out with Ellio from talking about their hatred towards their job to doing their hobbies such as drawing and origami.

Of course, not every day of the season can be spent on vacation. It's back to work for everyone despite the heat, so make sure to stay hydrated!

Normally the Fortress of Meropide is not the kind of place to accept tourist visits. But if you walk up to the guard or the receptionist and tell them that you’ve heard of the Bear Fists Arena Showdown coming up, they will, just this once, simply nod and let you in without asking. Whether you’re here to spectate, cheer on your friends, place bets, or throw hands yourself, it looks like you’re in for quite a lively night here under the sea.

These days, the history of King Deshret’s era is mostly told by the ruins left behind by his civilization. now in my shop I have some lovely origami seed packets containing native missouri wildflowers harvested from my garden! they're sealed with a watercolor sticker with planting instructions on the back. these are a great way to encourage wildlife in your neighborhood if you're in the midwest/midsouth region!

This spring, as Russian missiles and drones continued to rain destruction upon Ukraine, a more hopeful symbol appeared in the skies about the embattled nation.

The cranes had returned.

Every March and April, these elegant, long-necked birds migrate into the marshes, lakes and steppes of Ukraine, where they build nests and spend several months resting and eating before flying off for winter. Two crane species arrive each year: the common or gray crane (Grus grus) and the demoiselle or steppe crane (G. virgo). The critically endangered Siberian crane (Leucogeranus leucogeranus) has also been known to visit the country.

The cranes’ annual spring arrival is normally cause for celebration in Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian people have always revered the crane as a bird of general happiness and joy,” says Olga Chevganiuk, head of international department at UAnimals, Ukraine’s largest animal-rights organization, which has helped evacuate thousands of animals from warzones. “The birds were addressed with requests for a harvest, health, and wellbeing in the family.” Witnessing cranes in spring was seen as a portent of an upcoming wedding, and weddings themselves are often celebrated with a crane-inspired folk dance.

“These birds dance beautifully, and not only during the mating season,” Chevganiuk says. “They use their elegant bows and jumps, and sometimes wild and funny movements, to communicate as a family.”

For other people around the world, cranes mean something bigger: peace. For the past few years, hundreds of individuals, church groups and other community efforts have folded thousands of blue and gold origami cranes to signify their support for the Ukrainian people.

This year Ukraine could use the support — and the cranes — more than ever. “Cranes are the personification of our desires and balance, which we need so much now,” Chevganiuk says. Their arrival in March coincided with Russia’s destruction of the country’s largest hydroelectric dam, something one Ukrainian official tells me has caused another “ecological disaster” for a landscape already scarred by bombs and invading forces.

The cranes themselves have felt some of the effects of war, especially on Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula Russia first invaded in 2014. Other crane habitats affected by the conflict include the Donetsk region, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, says Yury Andryushchenko, doctor of biological sciences and head of the Laboratory of Ornithology of Southern Ukraine. “Active ‘maneuvers’ of a large number of occupiers are taking place in these territories,” which have seen military fortification and fierce battles over the past two years.

The second best is Leo by default because Donnie does NOT vibe with mystic powers. He has much more training with it than in canon, and the whole "i dont want people to choose magic over science cuz then im useless" dilemma isnt a thing since the majority of yokai prefer magic and he grew up using it- but he still struggles to harvest it

Hagging Out - October 2022

I was excited to sign up for this month's hagging out, and then when the time came to document things, I remembered: a lot of what I had planned is secret/personal. So, I don't have a lot to show for this month, but I'll share what I can.

I made a little wreath featuring origami moths. There were other decorations as well, but this is the one I made.

On Halloween night I gave out candy to the neighborhood kids, then turned off my porch light, closed all the curtains and proceeded to get weird. I won't go into much of what I got up to for the nights of the 31st - 2nd, but I will say that I got a lot more into scrying than I have in the past, which was cool because I've historically gotten bored and given up before anything neat happened.

As threatened in the August edition of Hagging Out, I made some witch torches using a dried mullein seed head which I harvested at that time. It was about 3' long, so I cut it into thirds before saturating it with beeswax. I'd never made a witch's torch before, and was afraid that it wouldn't burn very well, but boy, once it started burning, it really burned!

I'd planned on having a little fire as well, but since it was raining all night I ended up hanging out in the garage for much of the evening.

On November 2nd I got dim sum with my parents and aunt, in honor of my Great Uncle, who always used to meet us for dim sum when we were in San Francisco. Then I went home and dedicated most of the day to ancestor work. Again, I won't go into most of the details, but I made offerings of bread, chocolate, wine, water, and many, many candles.

It was nice having a couple of extra days off to focus on spirit and ancestor work, but now I have a horrifying amount of work to catch up on.

Cottagecore: homemade bread, throwing seeds out for the chickens, a tabby cat, patchwork quilts, puffy skirts, ceramic dishes, fresh flowers in a glass jar,  herbs hanging from the ceiling, freckles, grey eyes, Athena, old recipe books, a cookie tin filled with recipe cards from grandma, home-sewn pillows, a plate of cookies, the smell of rosemary cooking in a pot of  water on the stove, a floral tea pot, salt and pepper shakers, pansies, bartering with neighbors, biking to town, stained glass windows

Zen Gardencore: rocks raked with precision, bonsai trees, holy temples, moss covering statues of gods and godesses, reading ancient texts, being blessed by your ancestors, trusting and family devotion, watercolors on paper, ink on  skin, poetry and art, hot springs, cherry blossoms, little flames  flickering behind paper curtains, the smell of incense burning,  figurines carved from jade and gold from centuries ago, rain, a mist seeping around your ankles as you make your way to school, a chalkboard,  scraps of cloth made into art, origami, your father’s heirloom sword you long to one day pick up like your favorite Disney Princess,  tranquility and peace, stubborn and proud

Junglecore:  exotic animals, tree house, waterfalls, learning the calls of native  birds, bright colors and natural materials, bracelets made from wooden  beads and bones and feathers, collecting mushrooms, shirts with the sleeves cut off, leaving plastic bottle caps out full of water for frogs to soak in, cutting jeans to make them into shorts, wading in the river, cutting your own hair, bamboo wind chimes, upcycled art, fish in  plastic jugs, air plants, climbing up trees using the vines, harvesting your own fruit

Forestcore: deep silences of the oldest trees, darkness, log cabins, deer antlers mounted on the wall, rearticulated skeletons, hand-dried pelts, pots of  stew cooking over a fire, pancakes in a cast iron pan, brown boots worn  from hiking, an old walking stick, bonfires at night, roasting marshmallows and making s’mores, strange markings carved into the bark of trees, ferns that curl up when touched, hearing animals dart here and there but never being able to catch more than a quick glimpse of them  out of the corner of your eye, finding half-eaten acorns and mushrooms,  large tracks from something you can’t identify, bow hunting

Beachcore:  seashell collection, model boats, jars of sand, windswept hair, the  feel of the wooden boardwalk on your bare feet, big sunglasses, light blue walls, rope hammock, pillows with anchors embroidered on them, flip flops, shining sun, fish tank, sea animal plushies, a steering wheel from a boat on your wall, plates and mugs with seahorses on them,  bracelets with plastic shell and dolphin and turtle beads on them, postcards from the ocean, wind chimes made of sea glass

Mountain/Meadowcore: watching the rabbits down in the valley, reading a book in a window seat,  checking the sky for storms, knitting heavy quilts for the winter, many layers of clothing, waking up to see the sunrise and sitting outside for the sunset, enjoying the company of ones-self, mountain goats, clovers,  laying in the tall grass underneath the sun, field mice, crystal and  gemstone collection, a tin filled with buttons and sewing needles and  thread, fresh-brewed coffee in the morning, scones
