It’s Cassiel, we were fighting an undead beholder that (I don’t think any of us realized was what it was) disintigrated him.

We have a whole camp of skaaberen and necroalchemists and No Physical Body to return to them for fixing.

He spent the last few sessions trying to repair his busted reputation among the rest of the party for being a scumbag. He didn’t Really make what I would consider actual apologies but he made some efforts, and kept sure to look out for the others in battle.

Our necromancer/healer went down, who had saved him probably three consecuitive seasions before this, so he rushed over to give her some inspiration/healing potions and got FRIED bc he put himself in the murder zone.

She said, sarcastically, “oh my hero”, which he replied, dryly, “I’m glad you think of me that way.” and then Fucking Disintigrated. He went out as close to a hero as he ever could be- which isn’t very much.

His brother who was there doesn’t realize he’s dead yet- his sister who is currently on her way to help fight this bullshit is going to be Ruined- and all of the other pcs are torn rn.

(Mechanically, Cas made himself the only viable target to this beast, the beast rolled a random beam: disibtigrate, that beam went off and still wiped out my pc’s remaining hp on a saved roll. I was given the option to fudge some rules so he could live but, narritively its So Good, so I let our bastard dice rolling app on discord decide and... it chose death.)

To follow that our necromancer’s mum- reason were here and fighting- didn’t eVEN REMEMBER HER OWN DAUGHTER AND THREATENED TORI BEFORE FUCKING OFF AGAIN. H O R R I B L E. THE WORST. TORI DIDN’T DESERVE THAT.
