#OC: Liri

thank you to @snips2112 for this awesome idea. It was so much fun to explore Liri's character this way :)

Color: Purple - purple can stand for many things, such as luxury and wealth, something that plays a big part of Liri's life. She's a self-made woman on Coruscant, a wealthy lawyer. It can also represent independence, arrogance, be a bit over the top. These are all traits that Liri has, she's independant to a fault sometimes, can be a little arrogant and over the top. Because purple is a blend of red and blue, it's seen as embracing aspects of both colors, wisdom and calmness of blue and the passion of red, also traits that fit well to her. It's as bold as she is, but also can have the bit of whimsy and playfulness, the softness that only comes out around those she truly trusts and cares for, like Wolffe.

Flower: mira blossoms - these are made up specifically for my story. They come from her homeworld. She has a mira tree in her courtyard that she tends to. The flowers hold a significant meaning for her, they only bloom under certain conditions. The humidity and temperature have to be just right. Surprisingly, on a city planet like Coruscant, they bloom quite often, her tree does well and she has a lot of the flowers. It's very reminiscent of her story. She too has thrived on Coruscant, has overcome a lot to be where she is. They represent her resilliency, which is why she has a line of these blossoms tattooed down her back.

Animal: panther - Panthers symbolize rebirth, which is fitting because the image Liri created of herself is very much a transformation. Like the panther, Liri is very much like an apex predator in her field. She's beautiful and awe inspring, but very few have the nerve to approach her. Panthers represent power, something very important to her in her field. She is ambitious and at times ruthless in her work. As a result, a lot like the panther, she is a bit of a loner. And really, if we are going to delve into animal symbolism with her relationship with Wolffe here, then why not, his animal symbol would obviously be the wolf, who also can be loners, but are fiercly protective of their own. Panthers, and Liri are the same. And although when they first met, they circled around each other a bit, curious and wary of each other, but too mesmerized to let the other go, that grew into a deep admiration and eventually love of each other.

Scent: Jasmine - Liri actually turns the mira blossoms she grows into oils, for both her home and her own beauty products and fragrances. For simplicity, I chose jasmine, because that is what they smell like.

Song: All of Me by John Legend - This song just encompasses how Wolffe and Liri feel about each other. It's such a beautiful and emotional song. Early in their relationship, I would have said songs like "Shut up and Drive" by Rihanna or Slow Hands by Niall Horan with more the focus on the physical side of things. But most of their story is learning to embrace everything that they are to each other.

Feeling: Safety- It takes Liri a long time to admit to herself that this is what has been missing from her life. At the beginning of their relationship, she straight up told Wolffe she doesn't like to cuddle. He sort of saw through that. Really, she loves it, but initially it made her feel vulnerable. The quote and the picture just show what she loves the most, feeling safe in his arms, knowing that he's there when she needs him, but that he is also willing to give her the space she needs too. The quote is

Day 30: Two Heads are Better than One FFXIV Write 2024

Two Heads are Better than One: used to say that it is easier for two people who help each other to solve a problem than it is for one person to solve a problem alone.

“Liri? What brought you, all the way, over here?” There were further questions than that buzzing in the Sharlayan’s mind, like how the young woman had made it through the cottage's wards without him being alerted. 

“Sorry to bother your, um, gardening?”Liri's cheeks flushed at the sight of the man who had his shirt off to soak in the morning sun while he worked on replanting the Mint patch he destroyed a few sennights back. “I , um, it is about my Mother.” 

Normally Dimitri would have chuckled at the poor girl's embarrassment. Still, as soon as she told him she was there about her Mother, he rose to his feet, brushed off his large hands to get rid of the dirt on them, and then grabbed his shirt from the side of the wheelbarrow pulling it on so that Liri would stop stammering. 

“Is she alright? Did something happen?” Dimitri asked noticing by this time Laurent was outside as well the Wailer dipping his head in greeting Liri and then taking up a spot by an old tree he always seemed to favor. He was already dressed for work and his blonde hair shone brightly in the sun, obviously still wet from his morning shower. While he was a man of few words he was the listener you wanted when something was wrong. 

“Someone broke into the house. We don't know when they took off with Dad's wedding ring that she kept for us girls and a bunch of other things, mostly things that would make gil quick and easy.” Liri explained as she gave Laurent a little smile and wave. She was confident that the two of them would know what to do. They were amazing together. 

“Did she call for anyone?” the Wailer asked, his voice filled with that gravel that came from early mornings and gruff speaking. “Have they been round yet?”

Liri shook her head vehemently at these questions and they were enough to pull the truth right out of her. “No because my Mother is stubborn, I offered to get her a Wailer, I offered to come and get you, but oh no my Mother decided at that moment to have a pity party for herself and claim no one would care if she did ask for help. She seems to think no one in this world will help or care for her.” 

Laurent lifted a brow at this, his head shaking for a moment before he commented again “Gotta go to work, Duty starts soon. I'll see what I can do from there. If they don't have me on a busy route, I can swing by. Take the report and see to her.” with that he checked that his bow was secure, and readjusted his bags so they sat balanced on either side, then offered each a nod before he headed off into the trees without another word to offer the conversation. 

A soft sigh departed Dimitri’s lips as he watched the branches snap back into place, his ears twitching as they followed the rustling of the leaves nearby until there was no more, it was at that moment that the overwhelming sadness was the strongest within him, he wanted his partner back, he missed him but for Liri’s sake and his own this day he pushed back the emotions, knowing soon they would be on a ship that would take them to adventure and new lands. 

“I told her to come talk to you and Laurent,” Liri said softly after a few moments passed, and while she noticed the strangeness between them, her Mother had taught her well that it was never her place to ask what was going on in a couple’s life unless an explanation was offered to her first. “She told me that you two were too busy to help her. Which just made me mad. She has been waiting all of these moons for Iris to come and sweep her off her feet but she can’t even tell the two of you she has feelings for you.” the young woman padded over towards the mint patch Dimitri had been working on when she arrived, and down she knelt to examine the soil, pausing to look at the location of the sun followed by the how much shade was in the area. 

“Wha-What?” Dimitri turned around swiftly, his eyes resting on the back of Liri’s head “Too busy to help? Feelings for us? Who in the seven hells is Iris? Why have I never heard about her before?” 

“Iris is a Noble Woman from Corethas, it’s not her real name, she comes by once in a while.” A bitterness became present in her normally sweet voice “Never asked how they met. I don’t think she realizes how aware of Iris I am. It’s been on again and off again since I was fifteen summers old, never changes. Iris gets what she wants then goes back to Corethas, at least that’s what I see. As for you two, Mother has had a crush on Laurent since they were younger, and you since recently. Lady Vi and I keep calling her on it and she tells us to shush. So now you know and what you do with it is out of my hands.” Reaching for one of the new plants in the box that Dimitri had gotten from one of the local botanists Liri gave it a light sniff. 

“Peppermint.” she commented “Not the same as what Lady Vi grew, Gridania Mint is grown from seeds, did you get those too, or just the plants.” soberly she turned around to look at Dimitri who was still staring at her in this sense of shock, his mouth was even hanging open which made Liri giggle, then add on. “You should close that before you catch flies. That’s what Mom tells us when we look at her like that.” 

“Oh!” The Sharlyan cleared his throat, the tips of his ears flushing from being caught like that “Yes I got both seeds and plants. I feel so bad about what I did to her crop, and the botanist said they would grow nicely together and they would smell wonderful. Liri, are you sure that she?” Dimitri waved his hand about as he tried to finish the question but hesitated. 

“Oh yes, I am very sure. The way she smiles when she is around one or both of you? Yes, I am very sure, so is Lady Vi.”

OO INCH RESTING i think similar to her with caranthir, the shared bearing of the weight of expectations to uphold family legacies and being in prophecies are things they have in common? though in spite of that i would say i think that they're better off being trusted acquaintances! for bestie euphie and ESPECIALLY dearie caranthir and even lirinwen becoming a friend of liri's was a FRUSTRATING ordeal enough that took a looot of patience ajsnkn and her former profession made her ESPECIALLY cagey with others? (also that vinnie didn't even HESITATE to accept harkons gift and did it because seeing lirinwen use blood magic to drain someone dry at ease... she wasn't a fan of that anxkjnyn)

The Wayseekers (Part One)

Circa 232 BBY

The Crew of the Stellar

Memyit Gad -> Contracted surveyor for the Republic. She is a hard working Nautolan woman who often exudes a quiet tranquility. Memyit is stoic and intelligent, but stern. She took up the Republic surveying job after a long stretch of teaching geology for a university on Alderaan.

Le’varia -> Pilot and resident mechanic for the Stellar. A Twi’lek with many stories to tell about the frontier, she’s a boisterous but wary woman. Le’varia holds a dark secret though, she wasn’t always a trusted pilot in the Republic fleet— a long time ago she worked as a raider in the Nihil.

SD-88 “Aye-Dee-Aye” -> Scout droid that belongs to Memyit but personally prefers Le’varia’s more easy going demeanor. Her name is derived from “eighty-eight” morphing into “eighty-aye” to “aye-dee-aye”.

The Jedi

Nimari “Nim” Eneudu -> Jedi Knight and archivist on Starlight Beacon. She is a kind hearted and inclusive Miralan woman who works diligently at her job as an archivist on the up and coming Starlight Beacon. Nim continuously doubts herself, which has hindered her progress as a Jedi. The Force aids her in ways it does not for other Jedi, Nim often hears “whispers” in the Force— telling her what things to take a deeper look into.

T’sora Jarliin -> Jedi Master and one of the few Wayseekers in the order, Nimari’s former master. T’sora is a charismatic human man with a jovial streak. Unfortunately he’s prone to dismissing people if he doesn’t immediately see them as valuable. For years T’sora struggled with finding a purpose, eventually he took to wayseeking to find it. While he struggled with that, the man was plagued with visions of a blue girl with glowing red eyes being tormented by sinister visions.

Cyrin Tay -> Jedi Padawan without a master. While on a mission to the outer rim the young Zabrak’s master passes away of an unknown illness. He is taken under the wing of T’sora, but he finds the older man unnerving. T’sora thrusts the padawan onto Nim, Cyrin is not happy but he does not protest. He is quiet and lacks a boldness most Jedi have. He holds a keen interest in lightsaber arts.

Kevaxe “Kev” Coyper -> A retired Jedi Master. Kevaxe was once T’sora Jarliin’s master but they do not hold a close bond anymore. The Mikkian is closer to Nim, trying to guide her through periods of uncertainty and conflict. They are a relaxed being, someone who is always going with the flow of the Force. Seemingly nothing can stress them out, except for their former Padawan’s erratic behavior. Kev can most likely be found on Jedha, or in the crèche with the younglings.

The Cultist

Te’ilok -> A former sky-walker herself, she took to caregiving after she lost her third-sight. Te’ilok is a stern woman with deep running passions. After loosing her ability to see into the future, far more than what was required of navigating, she became increasingly paranoid. Te’ilok sought out a sky-walker with similar abilities and whisked her away from the ascendency. Using a vergence in the Force, the Chiss amplifies her sky-walker’s abilities. This obsession has formed a cult of various species throughout the Chaos, former sky-walkers, and Chiss. Te’ilok is the leader of this cult.

Ire’reoni -> The first Giver. Ire’reoni was the original sky-walker kidnapped by Te’ilok. Her vision has faded since she has reached maturity. The Chiss was once a quiet girl but slowly she is coming into her own. Ire’reoni is a cunning woman with a soft spot for the sky-walkers used by Te’ilok. She disagrees strongly with the way Te’ilok handles things and would do almost anything to take what she believes to be her rightful place, the leader of the cult. For now, she stays in the shadows until her moment dawns.

Ara’kloi -> The current Giver. First T’sora saw visions of Ire’reoni but now he sees this tormented Chiss girl. By far she is the most successful Giver with the most vivid and accurate visions. Ara’kloi is Te’ilok’s favorite. Nothing much is discernible about her personality, she is either receiving visions or sleeping. Even with Ire’reoni’s weakness for orher sky-walker’s she lacks much sympathy for Ara’kloi due to her favoritism by Te’ilok.
