Anybody else struggling with the player dynamics of season 3?

Trying to remind myself that Freddie likes spirited discussion and pushback, but I'm desperately missing Anthony's ability to deescalate as the DM. Between Will and Matt there are times when it just feels like bullying. Freddie never snaps at the other guys or roots for their characters to die, wtf? What makes it even worse is knowing he and Anthony are truly the backbone of the show, it wouldn't exist without either of them.

I haven't listened to the uncut episodes yet but it can't all be an editing issue.
