Main-line Hatchetfield shows: “This person is terrible. Completely and utterly repugnant. A puppy-kicker to the highest degree”

echoes in hatchetfield (aka events that repeat across timelines):
most reliably, ted spankoffski dies a violent death as a direct result of being horny and/or a bastard
grace chasity saves the day (and potentially becomes the new threat)
paul matthews and emma perkins fall for each other
as do stephanie lauter and peter spankoffski
lex and ethan are split up by circumstances beyond their control
duke falls in love with miss holloway and she might feel the same but they don't get together
linda monroe is doomed by her need to be adored
professor hidgens tries and fails to secure funding for workin' boys
barry swift is in a hurry

Since the lords in black wears different clothing depending on who's summoning them, what do y'all think they were wearing when the cultists used to summon them?
I imagine it's something like a 20th century high society party
Wiggly's the lord of the house, with an ornate suit
Nibbly's the spoiled little princess, with an extravagant gown
Tinky's the kooky mad scientist, with a Dr Frankenstein get up
Blinky's the trespassing press, with a reporter's outfit
Pokey's the actor and honoured guest, with an even more ornate suit and a gala mask
BONUS:
Webby's the rebel that runs off, wearing normal working class clothes, echoing Anastasia maybe?
Best part of this is that it can be in any time period depending on who's summoning them

The Nerdy Prudes never really send the Lords in Black away again, so imagine if like… they just never leave and decide to attend high school since they ‘blend in so well’. Peter, Stephanie and Grace go back to school one day and suddenly, Wiggly (sorry, ‘Will’) is in a corner of the cafeteria trying to get people to sign up to the Marine Biology club he’s started because he has ‘a deep connection to cephalopods’. There’s Tinky (or ‘Terrence’) correcting the History teacher in vivid detail and sitting uncomfortably close to Peter, asking intrusive questions about his older brother Ted. There’s Pokey (or ‘Patrick’) overacting every minor role he gets in the Drama club and staging ‘unfortunate accidents’ for the rest of the cast of the school musical so he’s ‘forced’ to take all the roles and perform a stirring one-man rendition of ‘The Sound of Music’ (you should hear his ‘Climb Every Mountain’). There’s Blinky (‘Ben’) getting straight A’s in his film class because he never takes his eyes off the screen and notices every minute detail missed by the teachers. There’s Nibbly (‘Nova’) defunding the Home Ec department by devouring all of their ingredients and spending class time eating everyone’s work. Then halfway through the year Webby (‘Wendy’) decides to come to the school in order to save the students, but she is immediately and relentlessly bullied by her brothers who designate her as a ‘nerd’ (she’s had around twelve swirlies). Oh yeah, and they’re all on the football team, go Nighthawks!
Update: I’ve already added this in a reblog but just in case you don’t feel like searching, here’s a link to the in-progress fic I wrote about this, I hope you read and enjoy (I reply to every comment!) 😊💕:
Gotta Get Back To School (16915 words) by Marvelmaniac715 Chapters: 16/? Fandom: Hatchetfield Universe - Team StarKid Rating: General Audiences Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Stephanie Lauter/Peter Spankoffski | Hot Chocolate Boy Characters: Peter Spankoffski | Hot Chocolate Boy, Stephanie Lauter, Grace Chastity, Wiggly | Wiggog Y’rath, Pokey | Pokotho, Tinky | T'noy Karaxis, Blinky | Bliklotep, Nibbly | Nibblenephim, Webby (Black Friday), Hannah Foster, Lex Foster, Miss Holloway (Hatchetfield) Additional Tags: High School, Post-Canon, Crack, Humor, Crack Treated Seriously, lords in black - Freeform, No Beta We Die Like Ted Summary: You know how the Lords in Black are summoned in Nerdy Prudes Must Die? Yeah… well, they never got sent back, so they’re still hanging around. Since they have time to kill and no plans that require urgent attention, why not stay in their human forms and attend Hatchetfield High as ‘regular teens’ just to mess with our favourite Nerdy Prudes? Go Nighthawks!

Why is no one talking about how Grace said that the Waylon's built the Hatchetfield Gazette, which used to be where the CCRP office is now (the place Paul works at)...
Is the CCRP building a black altar??? I might have missed something in NPMD, but STILL

I feel like Grace is being done a little dirty. Because my read on her character is way different than everyone else's. I see a lot of people read her as inherently bad or evil, but I read her as a genuinely good person raised in an evil environment (that is, fundamental Christianity.)
In Perky's Buds, although she's trying to shut down the pot farm, she's not even doing it because she hates pot. She's doing it because Nighthawks are getting stoned and put into danger. And even when Emma runs into her at the end, Grace isn't mean to her. Even after Emma sprayed her with literal shit, Grace is surprisingly kind, and while she assumes Emma is just delusional from smoking too much pot, she still has the foresight and awareness to realize Emma had put herself in a bad situation and called the authorities to help her (mind, it was a Hatchetfield cop, but a girl raised as she was wouldn't have the social awareness of why that is bad.)
In Abstinence Camp, everyone talks about how she has the axe by the end and takes the Axeman's place as the killer. And while she DOES kinda threaten everyone with the presence of it, she doesn't make an attempt to use it (albeit this is the end of the episode so). She throws herself over Steph to protect her from an axe, and genuinely views her as her best friend. And she doesn't even agree with the punishment of the sexually active teens, she believes they need to participate in order to recover.
Grace is arguably at her most antagonistic in Nerdy Prudes Must Die. But her villain song at the end specifically references how her victims are other people who participated in the bullying of the Nerdy Prudes, and she's now taking HER revenge to protect them.
In all 3 cases though, her most negative decisions, or the ones that trigger her downfall, are not due to Hatchetfield craziness but her religion. The police are good and help us (WASPs that is.) God says sex is bad so I'll intimidate everyone to stay here. God says sex is bad, so we need to get back at Jagerman!
And like... I feel bad for Grace. Because I WAS Grace. I grew up with a lot of guilt for being gay. I bought into every bullshit Abstinence program, because "That makes me one of the good ones". Even after realizing it was all bullshit rhetoric, that shit stays with you for so fucking long. I was that Nerdy Prude, well meaning but ultimately intolerable to be around lol.
So like... you go Grace, be your Nerdy Prude self and hopefully if we ever get an ending to Hatchetfield where you're all ever able to survive, you grow out of it!

yes, the lords in black are very silly. but can we just take a moment to appreciate how freaking terrifying they can be?? the interaction between hannah and the wiggly doll in black friday still creeps me out, the childish intonation and unsettling laugh and jolty pauses between wiggly's words are very effective. he says that he wants to eat hannah, he plans on ripping the president open and taking out his guts, he causes hundreds of deaths through the aggression caused by his toys. tinky controls time and uses it to play with people like they're toys, all the art of his goat form is so disturbing, his obsession with the spankoffskis is a big thing. "i'm gonna have the whole set in my toy box", anyone? nibby has an insatiable hunger, uses the melted flesh of pig corpses to go around hatchetfield swallowing people (like linda). he cares about nothing but his all-consuming need to eat. pokey succeeded in starting the apocolypse, using hatchetfield like a set in which to perform a musical of his own design, possessing people and using them as his stars. he wants everyone to be dead but him, controlling a hivemind of human puppets that tear each other apart and spread his infection further. blinky sees everything, refusing to let his workers blink and knowing what anyone and everyone is doing. he's the watcher with a thousand eyes, and takes enjoyment in watching bill and alice nearly kill each other.
they're honestly so unnerving, from their lack of care for human lives and bloodlust to their playful manner and habit of getting a little too invested in people. they see the citizens of hatchetfield as toys, and aren't afraid to break them. they're sadistic, violent, powerful gods.
and that's partly why i find it so funny that they choose to dress up in bright neon looking like an unhinged version of a kids' show's cast.

Do you ever think about how the very act of mourning Miss Holloway’s death cemented Duke’s fate of forgetting about the woman he loved?
If Duke had remembered the piece of paper she'd given him, Miss Holloway would never have been sent to the morgue, and the two hours would've passed without anyone else realising she'd died, meaning she wouldn't need to create a new identity. But he was grieving, and he forgot.
Do you ever think about how Miss Holloway never even considered that grief might be an issue surrounding her “death”?
She's essentially immortal, and has probably entirely forgotten what grief feels like, so of course she's going to assume Duke will act rationally and be able to think straight immediately after her death. But he can't, because humans don't work that way.
By the simple act of loving her, Duke unintentionally doomed both to their fate. As long as they are in love, he will never remember Miss Holloway.
