hey besties going to say something parasocial and also very morbid so apologies in advance. with things like phil's recent health scare, i wonder if that brought up talks of a legit official hard launch* or in some way expedited the talks (assuming a hard launch was already being planned). because like God forbid anything actually happened to either of them. but let's say something did happen to one of them... i am assuming at that point the other would stop gal palling it up when talking about their relationship, like for obvious reasons lmao. but like imagine how awful that would be, to be going through literally the worst thing in your life and you're trying to be honest with how much the person meant to you and then you have to inevitably deal with people reacting to the fact that you are confirming a relationship. and i'm not even talking about people being like "omg phan is real 🤪" in an insensitive way (though that would unfortunately happen), like i think it would also probably suck coming from people who are just factually giving information as in "this is the first time their relationship was explicitly confirmed" yk? like I'm not in any way trying to say that gay ppl need to come out asap in case they die tomorrow, and also ik phil said he was trying not to explore "what if" scenarios so idk maybe they actually didn't have any talks at all. but it's something I wonder if they've thought about and what conclusion they might've come to

The thing about the original mukbang is watching it back now, it is a little slow and a little melancholy/has weird vibes and it doesn't fully feel like them anymore, but it also makes me remember watching it when it first came out and it being groundbreaking, incredible content and rewatching it all the time and it's very interesting to have those thoughts existing side by side and it being a benchmark of how far they've come and how much more settled/happy they seem on camera

I also just wanna take a moment to appreciate the way Stjepan Šejić writes the Gotham City Sirens, particularly in how he utilizes BDSM. Because first off, he is so right, Selina would be a BDSM aficionado. Girl wears a leather suit and carries a whip and her boyfriend wears a spandex bat mask. That's her gimp lmao.

But also, it's such a unique and interesting lense to view them through. I particularly like the way he uses it to peak into Harley's psyche. It's just such a unique way to view the abuse. Harleen is all about the sexual nature of their relationship and how he pushes through and creates/fills a hole in her psyche no-one else can. It's just a simple addition to the already existing toxic addiction many abusive relationships have, yet it feels like it changes everything about this dynamic. He has a mini-comic, which you can find at eyesfullofscars' post here. I highly recommend reading it real quick. It's good and also you'll know what I'm talking about.

It's called Submissive, and the general plot is that Ivy goes to Selina to get advice on how to save Harley and she's told she needs to replace Joker in Harley's mind until she can get over him. And it's just such a crazy unique way of looking at it. Like it answers a lot of questions that didn't really need answers and just adds an extra level of depth to the characters and topic. And he has a lot of good utilizations of both dry and outright comedy.

Also, he's just, like, an actually good BDSM author. The damage E.L. James did to bondage fiction is so frustrating, it's so nice to read the works of someone who actually knows what they're talking about and can make it good, sexy, and just straight up cool and interesting. I have not yet read Sunstone, but I've heard from peers that it's pretty good so take that as you will.

"Slime" is the biggest joint creative project they've done in literal years, possibly since ii, right? It feels wrong to compare it to introverts, but I literally have no idea when the last time they did something adjacent to this was. You know, something where they told a story, made a film with their creative vision.

Now that I'm thinking about it, have they even ever done something comparable? I know they used to make those interactive adventures, there are obviously the other dapc videos and they've done these things with high production value (and the involvement of other people) like the tabinof trailer or the funeral video but I don't think anything I've seen falls quite into the same category as this?

I've seen people compare it to phil's old horror video and this one's definitely the same direction creatively (and I think it's incredibly cool to see how far he's come from that and that this creative filmmaking and storytelling facette of him has always been there).

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I'd really love to see more of this.

(And I can't believe they made something like this as an April Fool's joke. Please guys, it doesn't have to be April 1st for you to make weird creative and shockingly amazing (pun very much intended) things and for us to enjoy it.)
