Finished the tiny tot's winter vest! It looks washed out in the photo, but it's a really gorgeous forest green.
Pattern was Storm Slipover Junior.
Fairly good pattern, but read the instructions! The body chart goes much longer than it needs to, so this is actually a little too long for tiny tot. Which isn't too big an issue, he'll either grow into it this winter or wear it next winter. That's the benefit of a vest, no arm length issues.
Took a little over a month to knit, probably would have only taken a weekend if I'd had the time. Tiny tot still tries to help with everything. And by help I mean climbing on everything he's not supposed to. Or insisting I read books to him. Or screaming about wanting a cookie.
Glad it's done, now I can return to knitting lace!

#my art#jujutsu kaisen#jjk#jjk fanart#jujutsu kaisen fanart#yuji itadori#itadori yuuji#jjk yuuji#been trying some stuff out in an attempt to beat the artblock out of myself with hammers#and i LOVE how it looks but god it takes so long painting like this#i had a ref style i was going for that was a lot more washed out and watercoloury#and to be fair my take on it did start out looking more adjacent to that#u can still kinda see remnants of the initial watercolour washes in the collar of yuuji's jacket in th bottom one#but it Did Not Last fhdjfjjg what can i say im a gouache/oils gal#i can't use soft greys and watery inks i need stark blacks i need the reddest red the colour wheel will provide#one thing i did keep from the refs were the sharp prickly fine lines i think those look real cool against textured colour blocks#anyway ive also been having a lot of fun playing with rly rly harsh lighting on the hair#and even thinner linework put down after the colour as opposed to before#probably one of the reasons why it takes a lot longer but also it mimics traditional art a lot more#ill probably continue playing around with this sort of render ! or at least keep elements of it

2 day socks! Turns out I don't hate knitting socks, I hate knitting socks using fingering weight yarn. These worsted weight socks were pretty fun and easy, other than casting off entirely too tightly. I always forget I have to do the ugliest cast off known to man to get them stretchy enough to fit over my heel, but it's worth never having to do any math for getting them to fit.

Also let me just say a big sorry to the people who sent me asks, I see them, I like them, I want to respond, but I鈥檓 having a brutal mental block when it comes to dealing with tumblr鈥檚 stupid fucking post editor (see other rants for more on that) for actual like. Posts and not just an image with a caption or what have you. I鈥檓 hoping I鈥檒l get over it soon. But I just wanted to say that cause I can feel them languishing and I want this mental block to go away

i did tell you people i met a they might be giant right.
#I DONT THINK I DIDDDDDD like an insane person i left out one of the most bonkers moments of my california vacation#saying it now makes it seem like im making this up and the following story will seem made up but dude just trust me.#im fucking. ok sunday morning the morning of Thee Concert and i (used to waking up at 4-5 am) have been awake on and off since like 6 am#my friend? asleep.#now i enjoy waking up and falling back asleep for a couple of hours however by like 9:30 im starving i need BREAKFAST#like the very nice friend that i am i dont wake my friend up i let him sleep and leave him a message on my open laptop screen#because the fucking hotel room doesnt have a pad of paper?? so i leave my modern post it note of a message#saying that im going out for croissants and coffee#because im an idiot i severely misjudge how hot it's already gotten in los angeles in july#ive chosen to wear jeans (bad idea) and a long sleeve flowy black shirt (worse idea)#i also dont look my Greatest because my friend had been telling me dont wash ur hair before we curl it for the concert!!!#so this is my hair after flying in and everything the day before (It Needs To Be Washed)#im following google maps to the coffee place as i brave the streets of los angeles on a sunday morning#hollywood boulevard around the chinese theatre is insane btw. insane. but being from new york i am unfazed (well. a little fazed)#i am Sweating. its already gotta be 80 degrees. im also reaching critical hunger levels. but i continue on my journey#google maps leads me down a sidestreet and tells me to turn down some alley and im like well thats not right.#so i turn to go back the way i was headed and find another way to get to the coffee place#as i turn and head back up theres a guy going down this same block heading in my direction#i look at him and im like hey that guy kinda looks like oh my god it actually is him. mr john l of tmbg fame#and so i have a split second decision of like do i sayyyyyy something do i just ignore him while geeking out#somehow i decide to be bold and im just like gdjgmm hi excuse me i recognize you uh do you mind if i could get a photo#he was very nice and suggested we move into the shade and i took the photo trying to turn off google maps before i did#and i was like aa im seeing you in concert 2nite love your music thank u! and we went on our way.#i think i kinda like. stopped for a moment before i went on to the cafe and was like. that just happened??????? insane. but it gets better#i do finally get the coffees n croissants btw and get back to the hotel after melting in the heat#and my friend who likes tmbg better was losing his mind once i finally told him#so the following morning after our spars concert insanity we have breakfast at a diner and then head back to our hotel#and he's wearing a tmbg shirt he got and im in a spars shirt and as we're walking back a car horn honks near us#AND ITS BOTH THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS IN A CAR and they say hi and are like we like your shirts!#and my friend and i are like losing it but trying to be cool and like oh thabk you we loved your show hi! so theres my insane story

the next customer to ask me "what's wrong with your eye?" is getting thrown into the sea :)
#i have a chalazion on my lower eyelid#which is basically a lump that forms when you have a blocked oil gland#oil builds up behind the blocked gland and solidfies into a hard lump#i've had one before and it went away with warm compresses and eye wash (the standard treatment)#but this one has not gone away after a few months#and is huge and uncomfortable and extremely visible#and will need to be surgically excised given that standard treatment hasn't worked#but i haven't been able to get to a doctor for it because my health insurance is all tangled up with bureaucratical nonsense#(basically i'm in coverage limbo right now)#(waiting for multiple government departments and private companies to communicate with each other)#anyway i'm super self conscious about how it looks#and i have had FIVE DIFFERENT STRANGERS at work#all but one of whom were adults who should know better#just be like ''HEY WHATS THAT THING ON YOUR EYE?''#as if it's remotely polite or appropriate to ask someone you don't know about some clearly medical issue they have#feels great feels great#cass says things

actually fuck all that i said about the create being so fun, i just spent like so many hours trying to get one goddamn gravel farm to work and it still wont work right
#first it was too slow and then it wasnt actually crushing and now! it just spews the end product all over the place for some reason#my hand hurts from focusing too hard on minecraft#hellworld#hopefully i can finish it tommorrow but rn is buffy time so#ill watch some videos tonight which should help#but also i think i had just about got it i think i just have to put a chute on the bottom?#which stuff online was saying i didnt have to#ohhhhhh wait maybe i just need to switch the spin on the crusher wheel?#yippie just need to add in more gearboxes my favourite block in the world#hopefully at least#maybe ill sneak in some extra time just to try that out cause thats easy enough#hopefully it wont take this long for the rest of the system#i can wash this gravel for iron and also crush it again for sand which i can get clay for#and i very much need clay for bricks and terracotta for buildings#klepto talks to himself
