Here is some Sebastian fluff. Sebastian was my first SDV love and always will be ❤️
No warnings, just 1087 words of fluff
Description- what happens when the farmer and Sebastian start dating quietly and they are almost found out when Robin shows up unannounced during movie and cuddle time.
In the year you've been living and working on Grandpa's old farm, you've gained many new friends throughout Pelican Town. Your core group included Sam, Abigale and Sebastian, with you being closest to Sebastian.
It was hard not to gravitate towards him when everything about him was just so comfortable. You didn't feel the need to fill the silence with chatter when you two hung out and read comics or manga, but also had no problems trash talking when going head to head in a video game.
It wasn't a big deal to you two when you quietly started dating. Neither of you were into pda and you always hung out so no one besides you two even knew it was going on.
You two were sitting on the couch in your farmhouse watching whatever cheesy horror movie was on, just enjoying each other's company and laughing together at how ridiculous the movie is when you hear a knock at your door.
"Are you expecting anyone today?" Sebastian asks as you untangle yourself from him and the blankets.
"Nope. I have no idea who it could be. It's Sunday and everyone knows I don't really do any work around the farm on Sundays and that I'm a couch potato all day." you reply with a confused tone as you walk to answer the door.
When you open the front door, the last sight You're expecting is Robin standing there with a big grin on her face.
You've got no problems with Robin finding out about your relationship with her son, but you'd definitely prefer her to not find out by seeing her son laying on your couch shirtless, so you quickly step outside and shut your door a little harder than intended.
"Hey farmer! Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I know it's your day off and all" Robin starts with a slightly confused look on her face. You can only assume the look is from the way you slammed your door shut behind you like a crazy person.
"It's all good Robin! No worries here. Just worried about letting the heat out." Is your sorry excuse of a response. Like you'd have the fireplace roaring when it's the middle of summer.
"Oh sure. I get that, gotta conserve that fire wood right? Well I actually stopped by to see if I could trouble you for some goat cheese. I've been craving some and Pierre said he was out at the moment." Says Robin, getting to the point of why she stopped by today.
"Oh of course Robin! I've got some extras in the house, give me just a moment and I'll bring them right out!" You say a little louder than was necessary, happy that she only needed something as small as a chunk of goat's cheese.
You turn to open the door so you can run inside and grab the cheese when it thuds on something solid and stops before opening. Little did you know, while you were talking to his mom, Sebastian had crawled over to the door to eavesdrop on you two. He definitely didn't anticipate you throwing the door open as quickly as you did.
Sebastian rolls to the side where he would be blocked by the door as you go to open it again, stepping inside and shutting the door again quickly. While you run to the kitchen and Sebastian is rolling around on the floor holding his head where the door hit him trying to stay as quiet as possible, Robin is standing outside wondering what has gotten the farm so spooked.
Once you return to Robin with enough goat cheese to keep her away for a couple weeks, she thanks you and is about to be on her way when she stops and turns to you.
"Ya know, since you and Sebby have gotten so close lately, I think it would be amazing if you two went on a date. I think he may have a little crush on you." Robin says with a wink and walks away, leaving you slightly dumbfounded.
Once you gain a little of your composure, you walk back into the house to finish your movie with Sebastian as you notice he's still on the floor, but instead of rolling around in pain, he's now laughing hysterically.
"Glad you think this is funny Seb. I just about had a heart attack and a stroke all at once! All this stress over some damn goat cheese." You exclaim plopping back down on the couch and covering your head with the blanket.
A few moments later, you feel Sebastian lay on top of you and pull the blanket away from your face. He's still chuckling as he kisses your forehead and says "She's right ya know. I do have a little crush on you."
When you open your eyes you see that stupid smirk and all the tension leaves your body as you start laughing, pulling Sebastian closer you both relax back and continue your movie.
Later that night, Sebastian is walking back into his house and saunters into the kitchen to get something to drink before retreating to his room. Robin is in the process of making a snack of crackers and the goat cheese she got from the farm earlier in the day.
Sebastian tries to hide the smirk when he thinks back to what transpired during his mother's excursion to the farm. Robin hands him a cracker with cheese after he grabs his water bottle. “Try this Sebby, I got the best goat cheese today.”
As he pops the cracker and cheese into his mouth, he decides your farm really does produce the best cheese around, and as he's walking to his room tells his mom "Damn, the goats over on the farm really do make the best cheese, huh mom? Did you get enough for both of us today?"
Before he can make it to the stairs that lead to his room, his mom calls out to him "wait, how did you know I went and got cheese at the farm today when I normally go to Pierre's?"
Sebastian swears he can see the light bulb go off above his mom's head as he just chuckles and walks downstairs, leaving Robin alone in the kitchen. He hears his mom squeal with joy as he steps into his room and shuts the door.
By Wednesday that week, all of Pelican Town knows that Sebastian and the farmer are dating, and Robin couldn't be happier.

content: bickering, some modern family references (just names n stuff), smut, penetrative sex, f reader, riding, tit play (??) idk he just likes ur tits, etc.
a/n: this is kinda meant to be a modern family au based on haley and andy's first meeting so theres some references to the show (just fyi) except this ends as smut 🫡 can also be read as nanny!seokmin and richbrat!you tho
wc: 1370
masterlist
modern family au where you, ditzy and careless granddaughter of rich business owner, incidentally meet your family's new manny!seokmin while sneaking into your grandfather's house for some alone time by the pool. you grab a few beers, knowing your grandfather and his wife probably wont be back for a while when you hear someone clear their throat behind you. startled, you drop the glass bottles on the floor and turn around to see who the hell is in your supposedly-empty grandfather's house.
you're taken aback as soon as you meet his eyes. pretty boy your age in what's supposed to be a place only your family had access to ? you wont complain, but you're still pretty bummed about the wasted beer.
the first words out of his mouth are to scold you. great. yet another person to get in your way just when you're re trying to relax away from your overbearing family. but wait, you think, you still have no idea who this man is.
"who are you?", you question as he leans over to clean up the bottles you had broken (the bottles he broke, if anyone asked you).
"no. who are you?", he gives as rebuttal. "mr pritchet didnt say anyone would be here today. are you alex or __?" he says, cutely tilting his head to the side like a confused puppy, making your heart melt role your eyes.
"im alex," you lie, knowing your sister wouldnt get in trouble for this anyways. "now my question."
"i'm your grandfather's new manny," he replies with a boyish smile, stretching his free hand towards you.
"you're not manny. i know manny and you look nothing like him," you say frowning, knowing this is totally not your uncle manny.
"oh, you're __. i'm seokmin. the new male nanny," he says in a tone that makes you think he mightve meant it as an insult .. you choose to ignore it, instead looking at his arms as he continues to wipe the broken glass. why hadnt you noticed his arms earlier ?
"i'm sorry, but im gonna have to tell your grandfather that you broke glass near the pool," he interrupts your thoughts as he finishes picking up the broken glass.
fuck. you just got out of being grounded, you cant have your mom know you snuck into your grandpa's house again, specially for day-drinking (you're over 21 now, whats the big issue?!).
you panic, so you go for the first thing that comes to mind.
"do you really have to do that, seokmin?", you flutter your lashes at him, untying the top of your bathing suit cover and pushing up your barely-covered tits for him to see.
he looks down, momentarily forgetting what he was talking about, but quickly looks back up. "thats not gonna work, your grandparents warned me about you," he says as he looks away from your chest.
he already bit the hook. there's really nothing to lose now.
you take slow steps towards him, making sure to sway your hips as you do so, placing your hands on his shoulders as soon as you're close enough. "listen. this can stay between us, right? you've already cleaned everything up. there's no reason we need to waste our time in telling him how you caught me off guard and made me drop the glass, is there?", you rub your hands up and down his chest, slowly unbuttoning his shirt while he stands still, letting you continue your actions.
"m-me?! y-YOU broke it! you're not even supposed to be h-" he cuts himself off when you get tired of his talking and decide to just rip the rest of the buttons off.
"listen to me, seokmin. we can waste the next hour arguing about who did what while we wait for my grandpa to get here," you start pressing your mouth to his ear, almost giving him the attention he really wants, but not fully. "or we could go to the guest room and i could give you a little something in return for your silence. wouldn't that be more fun?"
with one more look from him, you find yourself moments later sitting atop him in one of the mansion's guest rooms, bouncing on top of him with your back facing his chest. his eyes were glued to your ass, with his hands groping your hips tightly as he furrowed his eyebrows in pleasure. never would he have expected that the airheaded girl his new employers warned him about would be this pretty and feel this good wrapped around him.
"fuck," he exhales, rubbing his hands up and down your back, ultimately landing on your ass, melding his hands unto the soft skin. "b-baby fuck. slow down."
"but minnie .. my grandparents could be back any second. besides, you're doing me a favour. it'd be mean of me to not make it up to you, wouldnt it?", you put on a sweet voice for him as you bounce faster, also wanting to reach your high as the pretty boy impaled you.
frustrated at not being able to see you, he uses those beefy arms you were eyeing earlier to lift you up and turn you around on top of him, now looking into your eyes as you held onto his shoulders for support. looking at his pretty eyes staring up at you with softness despite the lewdness of the act made you feel crazy. feeling addicted to the way he looked at you, you decided to give him a show.
"fuck, minnie. feel so fucking good," you moaned, dragging your hands up to your tits to play with them, rubbing your nipples in a way that had you rolling your eyes back. "dont you wanna help me, minnie? be a good boy and put your hands on me."
he whined at your words, sitting up a bit and replacing your hands with his. pinching at your nipples, he made you cry out loud and rub yourself even harder, now catching an angle that allowed your clit to rub against him. feeling drunk on your enthusiasm, he moved one of his hands to your hip in order to guide you, moving his mouth to bite and lick at your nipples, making you roll your eyes back.
both your ends approached, now with you maniacally bouncing on him while his mouth stayed stuck to your chest, alternating breasts to suck and whine into. feeling completely cock drunk, you increased the intensity of your movements, leading yourself into a mind-blowing orgasm with him following soon after, his moans muffled by your chest.
you spent the next five minutes softly cleaning each other up and getting rid of the evidence (dirty sheets, condom, etc) before anyone arrived home, all while shyly exchanging glances at each other. it was unlike you to feel shy when interacting with a guy (i mean, you did just seduce your grandparents new nanny within minutes of knowing him), but there was something about his good-boy attitude and soft demeanor towards you that just drew you to him. that, and how easy on the eyes he was.
your thoughts were promptly interrupted by him quietly speaking up "listen, i know i'm probably overstepping and just embarrassing myself by saying this but, i kind of uh. i kind of felt a connection there. i think you mightve even felt it too? would you like to maybe see where this goes? i could take you out, or if not we could start off as friends too, you know? or maybe this again? wait, no. i'm not suggesting that you should uh- but if you want to! i mean, whatever you want! it's just tha-" he continues to ramble, clearly losing track of what his original question was.
just like him, you interrupt his monologue by grabbing onto his face, making him stop mid sentence and look at you. "yes," you giggle. "we can go out seokmin. i'll know where to find you," and with that, you leave him with a peck and a wink as you exit the room, successfully leaving the house before anyone arrived, knowing you'd be coming back whenever possible to get some alone time with your grandparents' pretty manny you were now planning to make yours.

Chapter 1: First Encounters
A well-manicured hand reached out for the box of cereal at the same time as you, calloused knuckles brushing against your hand. In one swift motion, the hand plucked the last cereal off the shelf. You let out a surprised gasp and whipped your head towards the cereal thief, “Hey!” you exclaimed, ready to reprimand them but your words fell short at the sight of the individual in question.
Long fiery red hair draped over their shoulders and emerald eyes bore into your soul, as the cereal thief adjusted their grip on the box, “I apologize,” their voice hummed out at a warm baritone pitch, “You seemed… to be struggling with getting the cereal box. I wanted to assist,” the man, at least you assumed them to be a man with their chiseled jawline and overall physique, handed the box of cereal over to you, “Apologies for any miscommunication, I simply wished to help,” his word choice was eloquent, unnecessarily eloquent.
“Oh, uh,” you took the cereal box and dropped it in your shopping basket, “Thanks.”
“Of course,” the stranger flashed you their pearly whites, “Have a pleasant day,” he walked off to the next aisle in Pierre’s General Store. You looked back at your box of cereal then went about your merry way, finishing up your grocery shopping for that week.
Chapter 2: Run-in at the Beach
The local fisherman Willy ordered a bundle of parsnips from your farm and you were able to harvest them today, your first of many orders set for delivery. You tied up the sack of parsnips with a pretty red ribbon and dropped them in your bag, ready to make the trek through town to deliver your vegetables and produce.
After running through town like a headless chicken and delivering orders to the likes of Pierre, Gus, and Jodi, you crossed over the bridge and onto the beach. Despite living in Pelican Town for almost a week, you never stepped foot on the beach until now. The ebb and flow of the waves greeted you, as you approached Willy on the nearby pier. The old fisher released his rod back in, no fish on the hook, when he saw you walking up, “Ahoy, (Y/N). I take it that yer got me order of parsnips?”
“Yes, sir!” you gave him a salute and pulled out the sack of parsnips before handing it over to Willy, “Hope they’re up to your standards.”
“If yer anything like yer dear old grandpa, I’m sure that these parsnips will be golden,” the fisherman reassured you with a belly laugh, “Here’s a few extra G for yer troubles. Go get yerself a nice drink at the saloon later,” he placed about 500G in your hand, “I best be gettin’ back to fishin’, you have a good day, alright?”
“Thanks, Willy, I’ll do my best,” you gave Willy a nod before exiting the pier. Stepping back on shore, you inhaled a fresh breath of sea air and stretched out your legs, sore from running around for so long. You were about to make your way back to town when you noticed a familiar redhead by a fire pit to your right. The redhead sat by the fire pit, a towel beneath him and his shoes set aside. The sea breeze ruffled his ponytail, as the man peered silently out into the ocean.
I shouldn’t bother him, you reasoned with yourself, He seems busy. You turned your heel towards the cobblestone pathway, only to hear the redhead call out to you, “Oh! Hello, there!” Shit, okay, now I have to talk to him. You turned your attention back on the man on the shore, “Er, hello there.”
His eyes fell onto your delivery bag, “Ah!” he broke out into a smile, “The new farmer we’ve all been expecting and whose arrival has sparked many a conversation,” you made your way to his side and plopped down next to him, “How did you know that I’m the new farmer?”
“Your bag sports your farm’s name,” the man pointed to the embroidered letters on your grandpa’s old bag, clearly showcasing the name of the farm. Your face warmed up with mild embarrassment and you quickly fanned your cheeks, “Oh, yes… makes sense,” Yoba, I’m so- ugh! Silly? Yeah, I’m silly and trying not to make a fool of myself in front of such a… handsome? Yeah, he’s handsome, alright. Handsome man. Okay, please stop yapping-
“We briefly met at Pierre’s earlier this week but I never had the opportunity to introduce myself,” the well groomed man broke you out of your internal monologue and extended a hand to you, “I’m Elliott. I live by the little cabin on the beach,” the man- no, Elliott- gestured to the cabin behind the two of you, its exterior weathered from the elements, “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
You eyed his hand and grasped it, surprisingly rough to the touch. The two of you exchanged a handshake, as you introduced yourself to Elliott, “I’m (Y/N). It’s nice to meet you, too.”
Chapter 3: Writer’s Block
You stood outside Elliott’s cabin, clutching a bag of freshly grown potatoes in your hand. Another day, another round of deliveries; at least, you got to deliver to a friendly face. You knocked on the door, only for it to slowly creak open. Cautiously, you entered the cabin and called out to the redhead, “Hello? Elliott, are you home?”
The cabin was surprisingly under-decorated and somewhat shoddy, a lone bed in the far corner of the room with a piano beside it. In the corner closest to you, Elliott hunched over his desk, the sound of pen scrubbing echoing throughout the cabin’s old walls. You called out to Elliott once more, “Elliott?” he perked up at the sound of your voice, “Ah! (Y/N)!” he rose from his desk, “What a surprise to have you in my…” his voice trailed off, “…humble abode! What do I owe the pleasure of your visit to?”
“Just dropping off your order,” you set the bag of potatoes on the closest available space, “Whatcha doing?”
“Oh, the usual,” hummed Elliott, “I’m attempting to narrow down how to address this one scene in my novel.”
“You’re a writer?” you raised your eyebrows, trying to see if you can catch a glimpse of his work. Elliott hovered by his desk and brushed a few loose papers over his work, “Yes, yes I am. It’s a bit of a funny story, but I actually moved to Pelican Town to pursue my writing career.”
“Oh, really? How come?” you asked.
Elliott placed his hands on the desk and leaned on it for support, “I supposed a life of solitude would impose some… literary genius upon me, like the great Ernest Hemingway. Yet, I’m at a standstill—” he cleared his throat, “Well, in all honesty, I’ve been at a standstill for the past two or so weeks with this one scene and I’m afraid that I’m losing steam.”
You frowned, “Yikes, that really sucks,” you moved closer to the writing desk, “Maybe you need a fresh set of eyes? Like a new perspective.”
Elliott’s eyes twinkled at your suggestion, “A most excellent idea!” he hurriedly gathered up his notes and shoved them into your hands, “Alright, the scene I’m at an impasse with is when Clara confronts Horatio about his late lover. I’m not sure if I should go with a tame heart to heart or something along the lines of a miscommunication gone awry.”
You read through the passages, familiarizing yourself with Elliott’s work. He wrote in a style similar to the aforementioned Hemingway, but his vivid imagery and passionate dialogue left you with a sense of awe and a desire for more. You got to the scene Elliott was stuck on, thumbing between earlier scenes and scanning the pages. Finally, you spoke up and suggested to Elliott, “Given Clara’s kind demeanour and Horatio’s sensitivity, I would go with the heart to heart option.”
Elliott broke out into a grin, “Splendid! You’re absolutely right!” he grabbed the papers and set them back on the desk, “Many thanks for your assistance, (Y/N). I truly appreciate it.”
“Of course,” you flashed him a smile and a thumbs up, “Happy to help.”
Chapter 4: The Flower Dance
You stood by the assortment of refreshments and finger foods, nursing a glass of sparkling cider. Every few minutes, you would mindlessly adjust your flower brooch or take a sip from your glass. Laughter and chatter filled the air, as the residents of Pelican Town joined the day’s festivities.
You scanned the crowd and found Elliott by the river, standing beside Leah and talking about something, Probably art. Not wanting to remain idle for another moment longer, you made a beeline towards the pair of redheads and greeted them nonchalantly, “Hey, Leah. Hey, Elliott.”
“Hi, (Y/N)!” the artist returned the greeting while Elliott waved at you, “Good day, (Y/N). Are you enjoying the festivities?”
“As much as I can without dancing,” you hummed, finishing off your glass. Elliott nodded, “You make a good point. This is the Flower Dance, there’s not much planned beyond dancing.”
“Speaking of dancing, are you two dancing with anyone?” you asked the pair of redheads.
“We’ll be dancing together like we did last year,” answered Elliott. For some reason, your chest tightened at his response, but you brushed it off as allergies. Elliott fixed his tie, “We best be on our way, Leah. The dance will be starting soon.”
“I’ll catch up with you in a sec!” replied Leah, placing a hand on your shoulder, “I wanna chat with (Y/N) for a bit.”
“Okay,” the writer smiled at the two of you, “It’s always a pleasure to see you, (Y/N), and Leah, I’ll be in the main area whenever you’re ready,” he walked off without another word, as you stared longingly at his fading figure. Leah nudged you in the side, “You should dance with him instead.”
“I should?” you blinked, “But you two already agreed on dancing with each other.”
“I don’t mind passing the torch to you,” the artist nudged you once more. Yet, you shook your head and answered, “I rather not. I’m not much of a dancer anyway.”
Leah puffed out her cheeks and exhaled before stating, “You two would make a cute couple.”
You eyed Elliott in the distance and mulled over Leah’s words, “You think so?” you found yourself smiling in unison with Elliott, as the writer engaged in light banter with Willy.
“Yeah,” the artist nodded, “I think so.”
Chapter 5: Drinking Buddies
Friday nights at the Stardrop Saloon were always the most rambunctious, at least two thirds of Pelican Town packed inside. You entered the saloon, hungry for a meal after a long day’s work, and saw a familiar figure in a blue shirt and suspenders. Elliott turned his head and grinned at the sight of you, “(Y/N), my friend! Please, have a seat with me.”
You took a seat beside Elliott at the bar, “Hey El,” the writer’s grin grew in size at the nickname, “You enjoying your Friday evening?”
“Absolutely,” answered Elliott, “Well, I must admit that it has gotten better since you arrived. It’s always a joy to see you.”
Your face heated up at his words, but you brushed it off with a laugh, “You’re sweet.”
“Of course,” the writer responded. Elliott then waved Gus over, “Hello, Gus, my friend! May I have two beers?” to which the bartender nodded, “Two beers, coming right up,” and poured two pints of beer from the tap, “Enjoy!”
“Thank you,” the redhead slid over some G to pay for the beers, enough leftover to provide Gus and Emily with some solid tips. Elliott passed one of the beers to you, “For you.”
“Why, aren’t you generous?” you chuckled, happily accepting the beer. You clutched the pint tight in your hand and Elliott raised his up towards you, “I propose a toast,” the writer announced. You held yours up, “To what?” you asked. Elliott smiled, “To our friendship.”
Your heart skipped a beat and your expression nearly soured- you weren’t sure why, though- but nonetheless, you nodded in agreement, “To our friendship,” and clinked glasses with Elliott.
As the night went on and after a few more beers, you and Elliott were completely hammered. You could hold your liquor, of course, but the sight of Elliott merrily dancing and humming a tune made you break out in laughter and let loose. He’s cute when he’s silly.
Chapter 6: Dance of the Moonlight Jellies
You returned to the pier for, what local scientist Demetrius referred to as, an ‘utmost special occasion’. The occasion in question? It happened to be the annual event where moonlight jellyfish would visit the pier. You had vague memories of experiencing the event when you were a little kid with your grandpa, you remembered the fond look he had when the jellyfish would pass by.
You approached the edge of the pier near Willy’s shop and noticed Elliott looking out into the sea with that same longing look you saw the first time you properly met the tall redhead. Gently, you tapped him on the shoulder, “Hi, Elliott.”
“Oh, hello, (Y/N),” his tone was much more… serious? No, it was somewhat sad. You frowned, “What’s wrong? Aren’t you excited for the jellies?”
“I am,” he responded, as the summer breeze ruffled his ponytail, “I’m excited to the point of grief,” your frown deepened and you questioned Elliott, “What do you mean?”
Elliott scooted over so you had more room to stand, you stood by him while he explained, “We pollute the world so much, (Y/N), especially here with Joja… I see Joja CDs and Colas washed up on shore all the time and I fear the worst,” his eyes glistened with pain, “I fear that we won’t see these magnificent creatures unless we take action and hold Joja accountable for their actions.”
You let out a low hum of agreement, it reminded you of your days at Joja Co. and the stories you heard from your coworkers about the higher ups bypassing environmental protections with some hush money. It was part of the reason why you left Joja, other than the fact that it was sucking the life out of you. The day you left Joja Co. was the day you freed yourself from the chains of society. Just like Grandpa wanted.
“I’m sure we can,” you offered reassurance to Elliott, “I believe in us, I believe that we ultimately make the right decision.”
Elliott nodded, “Thank you, (Y/N),” he looked back at the ocean, “I hope so.”
You were about to retort when Lewis announced that the event was starting, turning your attention to the mayor. Lewis released the little boat towards the sea, you watched with bated breath for the jellyfish to arrive. Your hand brushed against Elliott’s, as the town witnessed the Moonlight Jellies appear. Elliott’s pinkly slowly reached out for yours, you timidly locked pinkies with the writer, as you enjoyed the sight of the beautiful jellies.
Maybe, one day you’d have the courage to hold his hand.
Chapter 7: Roadblocks
Elliott was a no-show to your weekly outing to the Stardrop Saloon and it left you concerned. He was always so punctual and he always told you ahead of time if he couldn’t make it to an event. You worried that he was sick so you left the saloon and headed to the clinic.
The overhead bell in the door chimed when you entered, signaling your arrival to Harvey. The town doctor gave you a wave, “Hello, (Y/N),” he greeted you, “How are you today? Are you feeling unwell? Injured?”
“No, no! I’m okay!” you explained, “I was just wondering if you had any over-the-counter medicine. I think Elliott might be sick.”
“Oh!” the doctor let out a relieved sigh, “Well, I’m glad you’re well. Let me see what I got in stock,” he left the waiting room of the clinic and after a few moments, Harvey returned with a box of medicine, “I have this generic medicine in stock. It should help with most symptoms of illness.”
“Thanks, Dr. Harvey,” you handed him some G, to which Harvey gave you the medicine in exchange, “Have a good one.”
“You, too,” the doctor replied, as he put the G in the front desk’s cash register, “And remember to stay healthy! I’m here if you need anything.”
You flashed him a thumbs up and exited the clinic, heading off to Elliott’s cabin with a determined step in your stride. Upon arriving at the cabin, you knocked on the door, “Elliott?” you called out to your friend, “Elliott, it’s me. Are you alright?”
You heard shuffling and slowly, the door creaked open to reveal a dishevelled Elliott. His usual tan was replaced by a washed out pale, as if he hadn’t stepped outside his cabin in days. He sported heavy eye bags and an exhausted expression, “Hello, (Y/N)…” the writer rubbed his eyes, “What are you doing here at this hour?”
“This hour?” you blinked with bewilderment, “El, it’s 5pm. What time do you think it is?”
“Oh, dear,” he let out a weary chuckle, “I must have the times mixed up. I apologize, but I should go back to work. I’ll be free to chat another day,” the redhead proceeded to shut the door, but you stopped it with your foot, “Elliott,” your voice was strained with worry, “You missed our saloon hangout. You never miss an event without telling me,” you held up the medicine, “So I was worried that you got sick… I got you medicine.”
Elliott gawked at the sight of your worried expression and the box of medicine, “Oh, (Y/N), I apologize… I didn’t mean to worry you. I’m not sick or anything, I just have been so wrapped up in my work that I lost track of time.”
“Elliott,” you pushed the door open with your foot, desperate to reach out to your friend, “When’s the last time you got any sleep? Yoba, when’s the last time you went outside?”
Elliott’s freckled cheeks turned red at your questions, “I, er…” he stepped back and allowed you passage inside. The inside of the cabin was dimly lit, minus the light at Elliott’s writing desk. His trash can was overfilled with crumpled up papers, broken quills, and empty bottles of ink. You set the medicine by his nightstand and asked Elliott, “How long have you been writing?”
“I lost track of time,” he answered, taking a seat at his desk. Elliott took out a fresh quill and bottle of ink, dipping the quill into the ink and writing. Yet, the quill snapped and the man who prided himself on his elegance let out a stream of curses. He shoved the papers aside and laid his head on the desk, utterly defeated. You frowned deeply and placed your hand on Elliott’s back, rubbing it tenderly, “El… Talk to me. What’s been going on?”
A soft sniffle reached your ears, as Elliott lifted his head up and exposed his watery eyes to you, “(Y/N), it’s awful. I’m awful!” he turned his body towards you and hugged your waist, “I can’t write for- I can’t write for shit, (Y/N)!” his cursing caught you off guard, but you made no comment, as the writer continued to lament, “It’s been almost two years and I haven’t completed this damn book! I- I-” he buried his face into your shirt and sobbed, “I want to give up, (Y/N). I want to throw it all away.”
You held the back of Elliott’s head in your hand and stroked it, as the redhead cried his heart out. Yoba, how it broke your heart to see him in such… agony. You remained silent while he cried, wanting to give him time. Soon, the sobs subsided and Elliott pulled away from you, his cheeks stained with tears, “I- I apologize,” he looked flustered, “I shouldn’t have done that.”
“Hey,” you cupped his face in your hands and playfully squeezed his cheeks, “You’re my friend- Yoba, you’re one of my best friends. You’re allowed to lean on me for support, you’re allowed to cry in my presence,” you released your hold on his cheeks, “I’m here for you.”
Elliott sniffled and wiped away any remaining tears, “You truly are my muse,” he mumbled under his breath. Your chest tightened at his comment, “Huh?” you asked. Elliott’s eyes widened, not realizing that he made that comment aloud, “Oh, uhm- Apologies, it was nothing.”
“Oh,” you did your best to hide your disappointment. Maybe I misheard? “You need a break,” you changed the subject, “You can’t keep pushing yourself when you’re so low on steam,” you gave the writer a pat on the shoulder, “So how about you change your clothes and meet me outside, okay? We’re going to the saloon.”
Elliott nodded in confirmation, “That sounds like a marvelous idea. I’ll just be a moment,” he got up from his writing desk and walked off to his dresser. You took that as your cue to leave the cabin, wanting to give the redhead privacy to change. Although, I wouldn’t mind looking- you smacked your cheeks together, Hey! Don’t think that! You then proceeded to leave the cabin, not wanting to be consumed by thoughts of seeing your best friend naked.
Chapter 8: Spirit’s Eve
Jack-o’-lanterns and other spooky decor lined the pathway into the town square, as you entered Pelican Town for Spirit’s Eve. You dressed up as an old-timey sailor, a simple but classical costume. The town square was buzzing with chatter and the occasional creak of… skeleton bones? You peered out into the distance and sure enough, there were two skeletons in a cage.
To your surprise, one of the onlookers happened to be Elliott, dressed up in a costume that resembled the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. I didn’t realize he was into the spooky. You waltzed up to him and tapped him on the shoulder, “Hey, El. Enjoying the display?”
Elliott whipped his body around to face you, his face deathly pale, “Er, I don’t believe I am enjoying the display,” he leaned in and whispered in your ear, “I mean to alarm you, but I think those are real skeletons.”
You stifled back a snort, “Oh, yeah?” you eyed the skeletons, as they shuffled about the cage, “I think so, too.”
Elliott audibly gulped and appeared to be on the verge of fainting, “Oh, dear. I think I may need a drink. Care to join me?”
“I would be honored,” you replied. The two of you walked off to the assortment of fall-themed foods and drinks. Elliott grabbed himself a glass of pumpkin ale while you got some apple cider. He slammed the drink back in one or two gulps and exhaled in satisfaction, “That hits the spot,” he poured himself another pumpkin ale, “I needed something to take the edge off after seeing those… creatures,” he shivered.
“I wouldn’t have pegged you as a scaredy cat,” you hummed, taking a sip from your glass of apple cider. Elliott pouted, “It’s perfectly reasonable to be cautious around creatures of the undead,” he protested to you. In exchange, you let out a snort and stated, “It’s okay to be a scaredy cat.”
Elliott rolled his eyes and took another swing of his ale, “I’ll prove to you that I’m not a scaredy cat!” he proclaimed. You eyed him up with curiosity, “Oh, yeah? How so, tough guy?” his cheeks were flushed at your usage of tough guy and he responded, “By completing the maze! I hear that it’s especially spooky,” the redhead pointed to the maze in the distance. He was right, it did look especially spooky.
“Wanna make this a bet?” you offered to Elliott. The writer’s eyes twinkled with excitement, “Depends on the bet, all I ask is that there’s no skinny dipping involved. You wouldn’t believe the amount of times I had to do that.”
Oh, I can imagine, “First one to finish the maze gets an IOU from the loser,” you proposed the bet to Elliott, “Other than skinny dipping,” you added on. Elliott flashed you his signature smile, “That sounds wonderful,” he finished his ale and discarded the glass in the washing bin, “One, two, three, go!” the writer sprinted off, leaving you in the dust, “Hey!” you yelled, trying to finish your cider as quickly as you could so you could run after him.
Soon, you found yourself in the dreaded maze, thick but neatly trimmed bushes towering before you. You passed by a few other townies in your quest to complete the maze, such as Harvey and Abigail. After confronting a few dead ends, you were positive that the area where you found Sam in had a way. The blond mentioned something off about the nearby bush, perhaps that was the key to beating Elliott.
Footsteps echoed throughout the maze, as the man in question showed up behind you, “It appears that we’re tied,” he stated, “Yet, there also appears to be another dead end.”
“I don’t think so,” you beckoned Elliott to follow you. You approached the bush near the left side of the maze and patted around the area. Your hand suddenly slipped through an opening in the bush and you grinned, “Found it!” you immediately ran through the opening, Elliott hot on your heels. You weaved and bobbed through the terrain, laughing up at a storm.
However, you failed to notice a tree root on the path and tripped over it, barely twisting your body in time so you landed on your back and not your face. Elliott couldn’t stop himself in time and promptly fell on top of you, slamming the palms of his hands into the ground so he didn’t crush you under his weight. Time seemed to pause, as you and Elliott locked eyes with one another, so painfully close. Your eyes drifted down to his lips and you swore that he did the same. You were so close, you were so very close.
“Are you okay?” Elliott asked, as he pushed himself off the ground and back onto his feet, much to your disappointment. You were so close, “I’m okay,” you answered. Elliott then extended a hand to you and pulled you up from the ground, you stumbled a bit but Elliott caught you in time before you could fall again. Yoba, he was so warm and gentle, it was as if you were hugging a teddy bear.
“Be careful,” he told you, “I don’t want you to get hurt,” your heart fluttered at his words, “O- Okay,” you stammered a bit, “I’ll try not to.”
“Let’s try to finish the maze,” the writer released you from the embrace. You nodded in agreement and the two of you resumed your journey through the maze in silence. Finally, after what felt like hours, you two arrived at the end of the maze, where a treasure chest laid before you. Elliott gestured to the chest, “You should have it. After all, you were the one who found the opening that got us here.”
“Are you sure?” you questioned the writer. He gave you a smile in confirmation, “I’m positive.”
You approached the treasure chest and opened it, pulling out the prize. It was a golden pumpkin! Oh how it shined so beautifully under the moonlight. You showed the golden pumpkin to Elliott, “Look here! Isn’t this neat?”
“Very neat!” he laughed, “What a wonderful prize,” the writer then pointed to a nearby mine cart, “I believe that might be our ticket out of here.”
You hopped into the mine cart and noticed there was enough room for you, “Wanna ride with me?” you asked. Elliott shook his head, “No, it’s alright. I’ll take it when it comes back.”
You did your best to hide your sadness at his rejection and responded, “Alrighty… I’ll see you later, then,” you activated the mine cart and rode back to the outside of the maze. You considered waiting for Elliott to come back, but ultimately decided against it. You needed to go home, you needed space… so you left.
After some time, Elliott returned to the outside of the maze, eager to see you. Yet, to his surprise, you were nowhere to be seen. He frowned upon the realization that you left early and went over to grab his bag so he could leave, as well. As Elliott left the festival, his bag’s zipper opened a bit, revealing a small bouquet of flowers nestled inside.
Chapter 9: My Muse
Things were tense between you and Elliott ever since the incident in the maze during Spirit’s Eve. Each time you would hang out or see one another, the air would be… off. Yet, neither of you would address it, much to the annoyance of Leah, who happened to know both sides of the story and was sworn to secrecy about the crushes. Poor Leah, oh how she just wanted to slam you two’s faces together so you could make up and make out.
You knew that Leah was right, though; you had to confess sooner or later, but the idea of getting rejected by Elliott consumed any confidence you had about asking him out. Nonetheless, you bought the bouquet from Pierre’s, the traditional gift used to ask a person to be your partner in Stardew Valley. You kept the bouquet fresh with water and plant food, not wanting it to die out before you could give it to Elliott.
You weren’t sure how this crush started nor how it flourished to the point where your mind was plagued with Elliott almost everyday. Does he feel the same or am I just a dumbass for wanting him to feel the same? That was the question on your mind since Spirit’s Eve.
You left your farmhouse early one morning and found the flag up on your mailbox, indicating that you had mail. Setting your scythe aside, you headed over to the mail and opened it, collecting the letters inside. You thumbed through the letters, seeing one from Pierre and another from Jodi. However, you stopped when you saw a letter with all too fancy handwriting and a red wax seal on it, Elliott wrote me a letter? you carefully opened the envelope and read its contents.
Dearest (Y/N),
I’m delighted to announce that I finally finished my novel, Camelia Station! I would be the utmost grateful if you were to attend my book reading today, at 3pm in the library. If you can’t, I understand. You’re a busy person, after all. Nonetheless, I hope you can come.
— Elliott
You grinned ear to ear at his use of ‘Dearest’, he wrote like a Victorian noble. Your eyes darted to the words underneath Elliott’s signatures, eyes wide as you read.
P.S. I have a surprise for you.
A surprise? your mind ran through all the possibilities of what it could be, Could it be him confessing to me? you shook your head, Maybe not… but this is a good chance for me to, though. You looked down at your watch and set an alarm for a quarter to three, plenty of time to get from the farm to the library. With that all out of the way, you then went about your chores for the day.
After hours of hard labor, your alarm went off. You ran into your farmhouse and wiped off any sweat or grime from your body, spraying yourself in body mist to conceal the smell. On your way out, you grabbed your bag and the bouquet, neatly tucking it inside the bag.
By the time you arrived at the library, most of the town was inside, presumably for Elliott’s book reading. Yet, the man of the hour was nowhere to be seen. You scanned the room and found Leah near the front, so you slid up beside her, “Hey Leah,” you adjusted your grip on your bag, “Have you seen Elliott?”
“I did earlier,” she answered, “I think he went to the bathroom, but he’s been gone for a while.”
“Can you hold this for a second? I’ll go find him,” you passed your bag off to Leah and made your way to the bathroom. You entered the bathroom and found Elliott by the sink, gripping down on the porcelain. He was muttering something under his breath, you couldn’t make out the words, “El?” you touched his back and he nearly jumped out of his skin, “(Y/N)!” he exclaimed, “Oh, dear, you gave me a fright!”
“I knew you were a scaredy cat,” you jested. Elliott rolled his eyes, just like last time you brought up his tendency for fear. You moved next to Elliott and leaned against the sink, “Why are you hiding in the bathroom?” you asked. Elliott lowered his gaze and mumbled, “I… I’m scared.”
“It’s okay to be scared,” you rested your hand on his shoulder and squeezed it, “It’s your big day. I know you’re gonna do great. Everyone’s here to support you,” the redhead looked back at you, “Are you sure they’re not here to witness my demise?” You stifled back a laugh at his melodramatic question, “I promise that they’re not here to ‘witness your demise’ or anything of the sort.”
“Promise?” he asked, his tone similar to that of a small child. You held up your pinky, “I promise,” and intertwined pinkies with Elliott. The redhead smiled weakly, but nonetheless, he was ready to perform. With you trailing behind him, Elliott entered the main area of the library and greeted everyone with his good old Elliott bravo, “Good afternoon, ladies, gentlemen, and folks! I’m ever so honored to have you all here to celebrate the release of my book, Camelia Station.”
As Elliott babbled about his journey with writing his novel, you returned to your spot with Leah and watched with a fond twinkle in your eye at your friend. Elliott took one last deep breath and announced to the crowd, “Before I read the first chapter, there’s something I need to say…” his eyes fell on you, “I wish to thank my muse… (Y/N),” your heart began to pound like a bass drum, “Without them, I wouldn’t have completed this book. Through every hardship and challenge I faced with this process, (Y/N) was my shining light. I dedicate Camelia Station to them, so please... give them a round of applause.”
The library erupted in applause, but it was white noise to you, as you stared at Elliott in awe. Your heartbeat pounded in your ears and your hand grew clammy, as you slowly melted from the writer’s sweetness. His muse… I’m his muse.
The applause slowly died down and Elliott seized the opportunity to begin the reading, “Chapter One… Your ticket, sir? Ticket collector Gozman extended a gloved hand towards the young commuter. Ah, yes. I have it right here, he replied, reaching into his coat pocket. Mortified, he discovered that the ticket was missing…”
You listened with a keen ear to Elliott’s reading, mesmerized by his storytelling. The way he switched voices for each character, the vibrato in his words, the detailed imagery transported into the world of Camelia Station. Elliott was talented, but most importantly, he was having fun with his book.
By the time Elliott finished the chapter, a few townsfolk left the library, most likely returning to their daily responsibilities. The remaining audience applauded the writer for his reading and Elliott took a bow, “Thank you, thank you! I will have signed copies for sale at the front. Once again, thank you for coming, everyone!”
You hovered by the front of the library, watching silently while some individuals like Emily and Gus bought a signed copy of Camelia Station from Elliott. Once the crowd dispersed, you approached Elliott and flashed him a cheeky grin, “See, I told you that there was nothing to worry about.”
“You were right,” the writer replied, “Most times, you are right,” you scoffed mockingly, “Most times?” to which Elliott gave you a little nudge, “You do think sea cucumbers are a lovely fish when in actuality, you’re very very very wrong.”
“C’mon! They’re just little guys!” you huffed, much to Elliott’s amusement. A comfortable silence then fell upon the two of you, as you stared into one another’s eyes. Elliott’s pupils were big as saucers, you were positive that yours were, too.
“Did you mean what you said earlier?” you rested your hand against your bag, the bouquet so close to your person. With pink tinted cheeks, the redhead answered, “I meant every word.”
“Elliott…” your mouth grew dry with nerves.
“(Y/N)...” the writer whispered.
Time stopped, as you pulled the bouquet out of your bag. At the same time, Elliott pulled out an identical bouquet from his own bag. Neither of you moved or spoke, you could only stare at the opposing bouquet. Soon and in unison, you and Elliott bursted into laughter, loud enough to get a scolding look from Gunther.
You two finished your laugh fest and smiled at one another, “Wow,” you let out a soft laugh, “We really had the same idea, huh?” the redhead nodded, “It seems so.”
“Guess that means we’re dating?”
“Well, I did have a sonnet for you to highlight your passion, beauty, and kindness, but yes, we are dating.”
Chapter 10: Feast of the Winter Star
The fall season went by in an instant and brought the snow and frigid temperatures of winter. You and Elliott had been dating for a while when the Feast of the Winter Star rolled around.
To your surprise and joy, Lewis mailed you earlier in the season that Elliott was your secret gift receiver. Part of you wondered if Lewis did that on purpose, but given how he handled his relationship with Marnie (you unfortunately found them in a compromised position in the bushes by the bridge in town), you highly doubted it.
Despite Camelia Station’s completion, Elliott was already on his next book, a mystery called The Blue Tower. You thought it to be fitting that you gifted him a glass dip pen; he was strict about his writing instruments and never used a laptop, despite its ease and functionality. Hopefully, this was a good compromise. In addition, Marnie’s poor ducks would no longer have to suffer with Elliott’s weekly trips to the ranch for duck feathers. I think those ducks might be afraid of Elliott now.
The Feast of Winter brought families, friends, and lovers together in the beautifully decorated town square. The lamp posts were lined with tinsel and a thick evergreen tree stood in the center, decked out in various ornaments with a big shining star on the top. You searched the bustling square for Elliott and found him with Gus and Leah, enjoying a glass of cranberry wine.
“Surprise,” you hugged Elliott from behind and whispered in his ear. He yelped and almost dropped his wine, “Oh! (Y/N), my love! You scared me!”
“Told yah,” you cooed, “You are a scaredy cat.”
“I concede,” sighed Elliott, “I am a bit of a scaredy cat.”
“Good enough for me,” you released him from the hug and pecked him on the kiss. You then turned your attention to Leah and Gus, but they were too absorbed in conversation. Well, at least, Gus was, as he enthusiastically lectured Leah about his various techniques for cranberry sauce. Leah, on the other hand, appeared half-sleep, but managed to have perfectly timed head nods to fake engagement.
“By the way,” you perked up at Elliott’s voice, “I have something for you,” he handed you a somewhat heavy box, neatly wrapped in red paper and secured with a golden bow, “I’m your secret gift giver!”
“What a coincidence!” you giggled, as you held out your gift to Elliott, “I’m yours,” the two of you shared a laugh and Elliott mused, “Perhaps the mayor had a part in that.”
“I doubt it,” you responded, “He’s–” you felt Lewis stare daggers in your back, as if he could hear what you were about to say, “He doesn't seem like the type to meddle in romance or romantic relationships,” you looked down at your gift, “Why is this kinda… heavy?”
“Open it up, my dear, and you shall see,” stated Elliott.
“Only if we do it at the same,” you requested and Elliott nodded, “It’s a deal.”
Together, you and Elliott unwrapped your gifts, you more so ripped through yours while Elliott was meticulous with his unwrapping. Before you, there was a black box, you opened the box up and gasped at the item inside, “You didn’t!” you exclaimed, proudly showcasing the gift to the world, “You got me the Polaroid camera we saw at the antique shop in ZuZu City!”
“I did!” replied Elliott, “You looked so happy when you saw it and you mentioned how much you wanted to get back into photographing your life, so I had to get it,” he pressed a kiss to your forehead, “Anything for my muse.”
“You’re sweet,” you chuckled, “Now, look at your gift!”
Elliott opened the thin, white box and nearly choked on his own saliva at the glass dip pen. He carefully removed the pen from the box, a beam of rainbow light shining from the glass, “Oh, (Y/N)... this is one of–” he cut himself short, “No, this is the most beautiful and thoughtful gift I have ever received,” he gave you another kiss on the forehead, “You spoil me, my dear.”
“You haven’t seen the best part yet, turn it around,” you informed Elliott.
He turned the pen around and read the engraving, “It says…” he squinted, “The Spirit of the Valley,” he seemed a bit confused by the words and you elaborated to him, “Your writing and you, Elliott, are so deeply connected to this valley. You brought life with your writing to this valley. You brought life, joy, and peace to me. You are the spirit that’s ingrained in me and this valley.”
Elliott sniffled, tears pricking the corners of his gentle emerald eyes, “You, my muse, are intertwined with my very being. I would be utterly lacking in life’s blessings if you weren’t here,” he pulled you into a deep kiss, your hands finding their way through his long fiery hair.
“Uh, guys?” the sound of Leah’s voice interrupted the kiss, “Too much PDA.”
Chapter 11: The S.S. Granger
Spring flew by as fast as it came. You tended to your farm, interacted with those in Pelican Town, and partook in the festivities. Your first spring was one full of unknowns and uncertainties but now, you finally felt like you were part of the town and the valley. You got some good use of the camera Elliott gifted you during the Feast of the Winter Star, photographing every precious moment. Your favorite photo was the one Leah took of you and Elliott dancing at the Flower Dance.
Soon, summer followed the peaceful spring weather with thunderstorms, heatwaves, and… green rain? Yeah, green rain happened. Only in Stardew Valley, huh? It took half of the season before nice sunny weather came and it happened to be the same day you received a somewhat cryptic letter from Elliott.
My darling,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. If you are available, please stop by the beach before noon today. I have something spectacular to show you.
– Yours truly, Elliott
Elliott didn’t know, but you cherished every letter he sent you, even though they were  somewhat cheesy. You went back inside your farmhouse and opened your dresser, grabbing the ornate box you kept Elliott’s letters in and placing it inside. Your eyes darted up at the wall clock, the time being around 11am or so. I need to get to the beach!
You made your way to the beach, exchanging greetings with the passing residents. When you stepped on the bridge, you noticed a man with a short crew cut and camo leaning against the bridge and admiring the river. You smiled at him, “Hi, Kent.”
The man in camo flinched at your greeting and you frowned. It was only last spring that Kent returned from the Gotoro-Ferngill War and he wasn’t adjusted yet, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you,” you apologized.
Kent shook his head, “It’s alright,” he ran a hand through his hair, “Just a reflex.”
“Gotcha,” you nodded. You eyed the river and asked Kent, “Enjoying the view?”
“I am,” he answered, “Water is… calming.”
“Agreed,” you hummed, “Well, I’m off to the beach, but I hope you have a nice day.”
“Thank you, (Y/N),” replied Kent, “I wish you the same,” you bid farewell to Kent and resumed your walk to the beach.
You soon stepped foot on the beach, as a crisp summer breeze blew through the air. You sighed with relief at the cold sensation, it was a hot summer day. Feeling energized, you scanned the beach for Elliott and found him standing outside his cabin. He broke out into a grin when he saw you, “(Y/N)! My love, I’m so glad you’re here!”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you laughed, embracing Elliott. The two of you held the other as tight as you could, “What’s the surprise?” you mumbled, voice muffled by your face in Elliott’s chest. Elliott released you from the hug and responded, “You’ll see,” he intertwined his hand with yours and led you to the pier. In the center of the pier, a rowboat bobbed against the waters.
Elliott gestured to the boat, “I finally fixed up the old rowboat outside my cabin… with Willy’s help, of course. I’m not much of a handyman but I did give it a fresh coat of paint,” you examined the rowboat with intrigue, its mahogany coat glimmering under the sunlight. You noticed some cursive on the hull of the boat, “S.S. Granger?”
“Named after my high school English teacher, Mr. Granger,” the redhead explained, “He was the one who lit the spark of creativity and my passion for writing,” he smiled sadly at the boat, “We kept in touch after I graduated high school, but sadly, he passed away from cancer when I was finishing up my bachelors’ at East Ferngill University.”
“I’m sorry for your loss,” you gave Elliott’s arm a squeeze, a sign of support, “I’m sure he would be proud of the man you’ve become.”
“I hope so,” the writer sighed. Elliott shook off his melancholy and hopped onto the boat, extending a helping hand out to you, “Care to join me for its maiden voyage?”
“Of course,” you grasped Elliott’s hand and boarded the rowboat. You took a seat across from Elliott, who grabbed the oars and began rowing farther into the Gem Sea. The pier faded into the distance, as Elliott rowed the boat. By the time he stopped, you could only make out the silhouette of Stardew Valley, “Wow,” you were starstruck, “You can see the whole valley from here.”
“Beautiful view, isn’t it?” the writer shuffled around a bit in his seat, “Although, I prefer the beautiful view right before my eyes.”
“You’re cheesy,” you snorted. Elliott shrugged his shoulders, “I would rather be cheesy if it means bringing a smile to your face,” you playfully nudged his arm, “You’re gonna make me melt.”
“Oh, my dear, don’t do that just yet,” Elliott cleared his throat, “I have another surprise for you,” you tilted your head with wonder, “Oh? You do?”
“I do,” the writer stated. He then secured the oars in the boat and began to recite, "Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate… Rough winds do shake the darling buds of Spring…”
You leaned in closer, entranced by your boyfriend’s words, as he continued, “And summer’s lease hath too short a date… Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines… And often is his gold complexion dimm’d… And every fair from fair sometime declines…”
The world around you two came to a standstill, “By chance or nature’s changing course untrimm’d… But thy eternal summer shall not fade… Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st… Nor shall death brag thou wander’st in his shade…”
You leaned closer and closer into Elliott’s space, you could inhale his sweet pomegranate perfume, or in his words, his eau de parfum, Elliott was always a stickler with his words. He stared into your eyes, your soul, as he finished the sonnet, “When in eternal lines to time thou grow’st… So long as men can breathe or eyes can see… So long lives this, and gives life to thee.”
“Ellie…” you whispered. The writer smiled, “For the first time in my lifetime, I was at a loss for words and it was the moment I laid eyes on you at Pierre’s. You took my breath away, my love. It was only fair to share it with you in the form of one, if not, the greatest love sonnets.”
“Ellie, what are you saying?” you watched, as Elliott pulled a small, velvet box from his pant pocket, “(Y/N),” his tone was deep with emotion, “My muse, my love, my darling, my dear. I have a thousand names for you but,” he pulled a velvet box from his pants pocket, “Will you do me the highest honor and allow ‘spouse’ be one of those names?” Elliott slowly opened the box and inside, there was a Mermaid Pendant.
You covered your mouth and muffled your scream of delight before calming down enough to answer, “Yes! Yes, Elliott, I will marry you!” you embraced the redhead, nearly tackling in the process. You kissed Elliott deeply, the flames of love and passion exploding like fireworks. In that very moment, everything in the world- no, everything in the universe- was simply perfect.
Chapter 11: Wedding Bells
You fidgeted with your Mermaid’s Pendant, as Marnie and Emily added the final touches to your wedding outfit. Once they finished your outfit, you promptly walked off from the mirror in your farmhouse and began to pace around the farmhouse, “Oh my Yoba, what if he changes his mind?” you spouted off your worries.
“I highly doubt,” answered Leah, your person of honor, “If he dares to even think about leaving you at the altar, I’ll knock some sense into him,” she held up her fists, “And I mean knock some sense into him.”
“Thanks, Leah,” you sighed, relieved. Emily, a member of your wedding party, approached you with your bouquet, a small one made of summer spangles and sunflowers you grew on the farm, “You are gonna do great, (Y/N)!” she reassured you, “I’m manifesting it for you, you will do great.”
“Thanks, Emily,” you chuckled, “I can always count on your manifestations.”
“Are you ready, dear?” Marnie asked, “It’s almost time.”
“I’m as ready as I can be,” you answered.
You exited the farmhouse with Emily, Leah, and Marnie; the four of you making way to the entrance of the beach near Cindersap Forest. You gripped the bouquet tightly, your chest just as tight with fear. Marnie stood beside you and held out her arm, you relaxed the hold on your bouquet and locked arms with Marnie.
“You’re such a gorgeous marrier,” the rancher told you, “I’m so honored to be the one who passes you off, I hope I do your parents’ duty proud.”
Your parents couldn’t attend the wedding, your father being overseas fighting in the Gotoro-Ferngill War and your mother on the other side of the Ferngill Republic with her responsibilities at the hospital she worked at. You responded to Marnie, “You’re like a mom to me, Marnie. It felt right that you would be the one to hand me off.”
“And you’re like one of my own, (Y/N),” she retorted. You stared out towards the beach, getting a small sneak peek at the wedding arch. It’s now or never. You gave Marnie a nod and she hollered to the trio of Sam, Sebastian, and Abigail by the entrance, “It’s time!”
“Alright!” Sam cheered, “Let’s rock!” the band launched into the wedding march and you began walking to the beach with your wedding party behind you.
Before you, the entirety of Pelican Town sat in white fold out chairs on the beach, as you followed the row of fabric towards the wedding arch. Near the front of the crowd, you spotted two familiar figures in a suit and blue dress, your parents. When you passed them, you whispered to them, “You came.”
“We did!” your mom smiled at you, “It took some phone calls, but we didn’t want to miss our angel baby’s wedding,” your dad nodded in agreement, “I can handle Gotoro grunts on the front line, but the thought of missing my only child’s wedding? That’s unacceptable. I’m sorry we couldn’t tell you sooner.”
“It’s okay!” you replied, “It’s a great surprise!” you blew kisses at your parents and continued your walk to the wedding arch. Under the arch, Willy and Gus stood by Elliott as his wedding party. Your soon-to-be husband’s back faced you and once released to the altar by Marnie, you tapped Elliott on the back, “I’m here, honey.”
Elliott turned around and audibly gasped, “My darling! You- You-” tears suddenly formed in his eyes and rolled down his cheeks, “Oh, my sweet darling, you look absolutely radiant,” he leaned in to kiss you, only to have Mayor Lewis shove his hand in between you, “Mr. Lovebird! No kissing until I say so!” he proclaimed. Elliott pouted at the mayor’s interruption, but nonetheless, he pulled back.
The two of you smiled widely at the other, your eyes shimmering with anticipation. Lewis stood behind you and he began the ceremony, “Can all attendees rise?”
The wedding guests rose from their seats and Lewis spoke to everyone, “We are gathered here today to celebrate the love of Elliott and (Y/N). My dear friends,” he smiled at you and Elliott, “This is a new chapter in your lives, from the moment I proclaim them to be spouses to the day you die.”
“That’s the plan,” you mused, earning a few chuckles. Mayor Lewis let out a laugh, “Splendid! Then we should get right into it!” he continued with his opening remarks, but you paid no attention to him, as you found yourself lost in Elliott’s eyes.
“Now, the marriers will exchange vows,” you perked up at the mention of vows, watching silently as Elliott pulled out a piece of parchment and unfolded it, “(Y/N)... As I mentioned before during our boat ride, I was at a loss of words when I first laid eyes on you,” he recited his vows.
He let out a shaky breath, on the verge of crying again, “And today, I am again at a loss for words. There are no words in our language that can accurately describe your beauty, your strength, your resilience, your passion, your love. (Y/N), I thank Yoba and the forces of the universe that we are here at this moment,” the redhead hastily wiped his tears away, “You are my world, (Y/N). I love you.”
A collection of ‘aws’ and cheers erupted from the audience, as they clapped for Elliott’s vows. You sniffled a bit and blinked back your own tears, “Damn,” you let out a wobbly laugh, “Your vows blew mine out of the water, honey,” you passed your bouquet to Leah and grasped Elliott’s hands, “Elliott, the day I met… I was hella pissed off that you grabbed my cereal.”
The crowd laughed and you added on, “I thought you were a dick for that, but when you explained to me that you only wanted to help… that spark of unprompted kindness lit a flame in me. As I got to know you, I found myself falling deeper and deeper in love with you. From your passion to your mannerisms to your silliness to your determination… Elliott, I can’t picture my future without you. I can’t wait to make a beautiful life with you.”
Another round of applause came from the wedding attendees and Elliott grinned at you, his eyes full of unabashed love for you. Mayor Lewis gestured for the applause to simmer down and once there was silence, he announced, “With the vows now done… It’s my honor to, on this lovely summer day, unite Elliott and (Y/N) together as one,” you squeezed Elliott’s hands, eager to hear the ‘okay’ to kiss.
“As the mayor of Pelican Town and regional bearer of the matrimonial seal…” the mayor stated, as you took a deep breath, “I now pronounce you spouses! You may kiss!” you and Elliott wasted no time when given the ‘okay’ to kiss, as Elliott dipped you and kissed you tenderly on the kiss. Cheers and hollers of joy erupted once more from the wedding attendees in celebration of your new matrimony.
Elliott pulled you back up and finished the kiss, resting his forehead against yours. He whispered softly to you, “You’re my spouse,” to which you smiled, “And you’re my spouse,” you planted a kiss on Elliott’s cheek, “It’s time for our new chapter, isn’t it?”
“You’re right about that, my dear,” he answered, “The first chapter in our story.”
A new chapter, indeed.

Epilogue: Remembrance
A redheaded woman in pantsuit stood in front of the orchard, fresh fruit hanging from the trees. Besides her, two small children held each of her hands. The woman heard the sound of footsteps, as a man in farmer overalls and similar red hair approached the orchard, his work boots crunching the autumn leaves.
“Eleanor,” the farmer greeted the well-dressed woman, “Glad to see you here,” he supported his body against the hoe, “I didn’t think you would come.”
“I may be a busy woman, but I take offense that you doubt my attendance for this day, Elias,” Eleanor scoffed at Elias, the farmer. He shrugged his shoulders and instead commented, “You brought Kenny and Quinn with you?”
“Yes,” answered Eleanor, “I thought they deserved a chance to– Heyo!” a loud voice cut into the conversation, as another redhead appeared. They dressed in casual but neat attire, a flannel wrapped around their waist and their exposed arms displaying some old scars, “Sorry, I’m late! I got held up at my logging site.”
“Late as ever, Echo,” chuckled Elias. With a pout, Echo exclaimed, “Hey! Not my fault that I had to cut down a whole forest after last week’s wildfire!”
“Enough, you two,” Eleanor stated, “Do you have the supplies?” to which Echo and Elias confirmed that they did, “Splendid,” she squatted down to her children’s levels, “Kenny, Quinn… I know this might seem scary, but Mommy’s here to keep you safe, okay? You might not understand it now, but you deserve the chance to see them.”
“Okay, Mommy,” replied Kenny and Quinn. Eleanor squeezed their hands and with that, the group entered the orchard, going deeper and deeper until they made it to their destination. Two gravestones stood proudly in the center of the orchard, a few dead fruits and flowers by them. Echo pulled out a trash bag and collected the dead items while Eleanor and Elias set down fresh pomegranates and sunflowers.
“Mommy, where are we?” asked Quinn.
“We’re at your…” Eleanor blinked back tears, “These are your grandparents, you were very little when they went to Yoba, but they loved you both so very much.”
Kenny stared out at the gravestones and squinted, “Mommy, what do they say?”
Eleanor read the gravestone engravings aloud, “The one on the left has ‘Elliott Cunnigham’ at the top and below it, it says ‘Beloved Writer, husband, and father.’ The one on the right has ‘(Y/N) Cunningham’ with the words ‘Beloved Town Hero, spouse, and parent’,” Eleanor looked up at Echo and Elias with tears in her eyes, “Can one of you do it?”
“I got it,” answered Elias. He approached Eleanor’s side and grabbed the final offering, setting it down between the graves, “We can go if you want.”
“I think that’s a good idea,” replied Echo. Eleanor nodded in agreement, “Let’s go to the Stardrop Saloon, I think Gus would be happy to see all of us together.”
“Sounds like a great plan,” chuckled Elias.
With everyone in tow, the siblings and their children left the orchard, leaving the gravestones at peace for another year. The final offering laid still in the space between the burial sites.
A single box of cereal.

Dividers by @/saradika
Tumblr media
“Reader, where were you? Rayleigh questions as he sees his grandchild coming into the bar on top of Millo, their usual Smiledon Companion covered in dirt and grass, his wife in front of him preparing drinks, glancing at the child questioningly
“Outside!”
Rayleigh smiled softly as he approached the child, kneeling down slightly to meet them. Grabbing them from the large feline and putting them on their hip
“What were you doing outside?”
“Causing trouble, I bet?” pipes in Shakky
“We were exploring.”
“Mm, of course,” Rayleigh raises his brow at his wife, who nods along knowingly.
“Exploring, eh?” The white-haired man asks with a sly smirk
“Where were you exploring?”
They stay silent, playing with their grandfathers hair, trying to evade their gaze as they shrug
“Hm,” Rayleigh muttered
He then raises his eyebrows.
“You think I'm going to get mad?” his voice was light yet stern
“Yeah,” they say, hiding their face into their neck and continuing to play with his hair
Rayleigh chuckles, rubbing their head with one hand as he speaks to them.
“Well, I'm not...I know how it is. Being young and curious.”
“But you should never go off without telling someone where you're going.."
“But I went with Millo!” They exclaim, pulling their head out and gesturing at the large feline
“I mean a proper person,” Rayleigh chuckles,
“Millo, doesn’t count”
The toothed cat lets out a small indignant yowl at his comment, Reader reacting similarly with an offended gasp
Rayleigh scoffed at the cat's reaction, finding it amusing.
“There, there, Millo, you'll live.” Shakky Laughs.
“You're lucky you're adorable, isn't that right?” he said, looking at the cat.
“You're being mean to Millo Grandpa!”
“Now, Now both of you know I didn’t mean it like that,” Rayleigh says with a frown,
“but you need to understand it makes your gramps and gran worry, alright? You're our treasure, you know?”
“Im sorry,”
Shakky smiles, opening her arms for Rayleigh to pass them to her, he smiles obliging her silent request
“Come here” she says taking a hold of them
“We’re not mad, As we said, you are really important, and we simply worry, there are dangerous and gross people not far from here.”
“I just wanted to explore a little, but I didn’t mean to go far. “
Rayleigh scoffs and pulls the child into his arms, planting several kisses upon their cheek,
“It's fine... Just let me know next time where you are exploring; I know you're more than capable on your own, but still, I'd like to have an idea of where to look for you."
“Oke”
“Now that we got that out of the way, what were you doing that got you covered in dirt?”
They shuffle in their grandmother's arms, digging something from their small backpack
“I was getting you guys flowers!” They exclaim, pulling said plants out and handing two roughly arrays of flowers
Rayleigh’s face breaks out into a smile,
“For Us, you brought us flowers?”
They nod excitedly handing them the mix-match bouquet of flowers
The elderly couple exchange a look before embracing the child, who is now buried within the confines of their affection.

The Big News(Toshinori Yagi x Fem!Reader)
Tumblr media
warnings: fluff, slight angst, mentions of pregnancy, tears, mentions of Toshinori's mentor, Younger!Toshinori, Gran Torino being such a grandpa word count: 1.2k pairings: Toshinori Yagi x Fem!Reader summary: You just received the news that you're pregnant! You're alone and scared, so you decide to head to Gran Torino's place to get some advice from him. It's not long before Toshinori arrives and you have no choice but to tell him that he's going to be a father a/n: dividers by @adornedwithlight
Tumblr media
Your stomach was in knots. You didn’t know what to do at this very moment. With the news from the doctor, you knew you had to go talk to someone. But with Toshinori out on patrol at the moment and with most of your other family not living in the city with you, you weren’t even sure who you could go to. You desperately need a friend right now.
Tumblr media
The thought just popped into your mind. You could go to his home. He would be so welcoming to you. You make your way to the old man’s place, knowing that you could breathe a little easier about everything that’s happened today when you get there. The man in question would know what to do and how to console you.
When Gran Torino opens the door, you sigh a breath of relief. He smiles when he sees you, inviting you inside his apartment. You always felt at ease with him. Ever since Toshinori introduced you to his sensei, you and Sorahiko bonded quite well. He saw you almost like a daughter, someone who was good for his student. Sorahiko knew that you’d be a good partner for Toshinori, even from the moment he first met you.
“Well well, where’s the blond? Too scared to come visit me?” Gran Torino asks as he guides you to the couch.
You sit down and shake your head. “No, I came on my own today.”
Sorahiko is quick to notice how you seem so nervous. He sees you fidgeting. Are those…are those tears in your eyes? He places his hand on your knee and gives it a little squeeze. He hates seeing you in distress.
“Are you in trouble?” he finally asks.
You take a deep breath. “I need your advice.”
There’s a moment of silence before he looks at you carefully. You’ve got such a fearful look on your face. The tears in your eyes are threatening to spill over. He thinks he already knows what you’re going to say, so he nods and tells you that you can ask him about anything.
“I need you to tell me how…how I can…”
The words keep getting stuck in your throat. Sorahiko knows what’s coming next. He can feel it in every breath you take, every time you shudder from the tears that are now rolling down your cheeks.
“How do I tell Toshi he’s going to be a father?”
There it was. The bomb you decided to drop. But in reality, you didn’t see how much of a blessing that is. The old man laughs softly, and then he gives you a tissue to wipe away those tears.
“Come now, there’s nothing to cry about.” His words soothe you.
You sniffle as you wipe your tears away. “You don’t think he will want to leave me?”
“No! That’s nonsense. I know him better than most. Toshinori will never run away from responsibility. And he most definitely would not abandon the one he loves.”
The words seem to soothe you a little more. Gran Torino laughs again, and he gives your shoulder a little shake. You smile through your tears and he begins to feel a little better about this.
“Have you told Toshinori? I’m going to guess that you haven’t.”
You sigh. “No, I just got the news from the doctor. I came here after because I thought I was going to have a meltdown.”
The old man hums, then you hear the beep of the microwave. You laugh softly as he tries to offer you some of his taiyaki. You take one and slowly nibble on it; your stomach was still in knots.
“You’re going to need to tell him as soon as possible. He’s probably still on patrol, yeah?”
As soon as you nod your head, you both hear a knock at the door. Then you hear Toshinori’s cheerful voice announcing his arrival.
“I am here!”
Sorahiko answers the door, scolding your blond lover a little bit for being so corny. Then when Toshinori enters, he smiles widely when he sees you. But that smile falters when he notices how you don’t seem to be too happy.
“What’s the matter, darling?” Toshinori asks as he sits next to you.
You try to say the words, but it becomes a lump in your throat once more. Toshinori looks at Gran Torino; he’s at a loss for words. Sorahiko takes this time to give you two just a little space. He knows you’ll be able to tell Toshinori what’s going on.
“Sweetheart,” Toshinori begins. “A-are you alright? W-why are you crying?”
You shake your head. Him asking you about your tears only causes you to cry even more. He feels the anxiety building up inside of him. Tears sting his eyes. You must want to break things off with him. That’s the only thing that’s running in his mind right now.
“D-do…do you want to end our relationship?!”
This causes you to break down fully. You begin to sob as fat tears roll down your cheeks. Sorahiko is quick to come over and to hand you some more tissues. In the meantime, he shoots Toshinori a very dirty look.
“Do you have any tact, boy?”
Toshinori frowns, “I-I didn’t mean to! I mean…I got scared!”
Sorahiko rubs your back slowly, telling you to take deep breaths. As soon as you get calmed down, you turn to Toshinori. With a nod from Gran Torino, you finally gain the courage to tell your lover what he deserves to know.
“Toshinori, I have something to tell you. It’s important.”
He nods, “Please. I am here to listen.”
You feel his hand on your cheek, gently caressing and wiping away the tears there. You smile sweetly, pressing a kiss to the palm of his hand. The action itself causes him to shudder.
“Toshinori, we’re going to be parents.” You watch as he processes the information. “I’m pregnant.”
It’s a few more seconds of silence before he smiles happily again. You can see tears in his eyes again; these are tears of pure joy this time.
“Really?!” He asks, bewildered in the best way possible. “A baby?! Me and you?!”
You nod. “Yeah, we’re having a baby.”
Without another word, Toshinori picks you up in his arms and pulls you into a tight hug. He’s crying again, and he’s whispering to you how much he loves you and how much he’s going to love you forever. He’s so happy, he doesn’t even understand it. He presses kiss all over your face.
“Settle down, boy! She’s pregnant.” Gran Torino chastises him, but he’s very happy to see you both excited.
Toshinori sits you on his lap, rubbing your back and playing with your hair. He’s asking you so many questions. The whole time he’s got this cute grin on his face, unable to wipe it away.
“I was thinking, if it’s a little girl…we can name her Nana.” You suggest, watching as Toshinori’s reaction changes.
He tears up again. “Oh sweetheart, that would be…that would be wonderful.” He sniffles. “What if it’s a boy?”
You look at Gran Torino. “Simple! We’ll name him Sorahiko.”
Gran Torino chokes on his coffee. He looks at you, a little red in the face. He’s trying to talk you out of it, but you shake your head.
“I’d like to name our baby after their grandfather or grandmother.” You finally settle on this.
Both men are melting at this sweet show of affection. Safe to say, you and your baby are in good hands.

SUNSET PART 1
Or early summer!
Tumblr media
Clarisse La Rue x Cassandra De Young (oc! Apollo's kid)
Summary: When Cassandra gets involved in a scandal early in the day, she goes to camp early.
Warnings: men....thats all i could think of actualy.
First read this!
Part 2 is here!
Cassandra De Young
Im fucked.
That's it, that's all i can say.
I knew it as soon as my hand reached his face and stinged, as soon as i heard a camera's flash, and as soon as i stepped into my mom's apartment.
Let's just rewind a bit, okay?
My family own a big business, that you already know by now, the thing is, when they reeaally want to do business with someone they go extreme, the most common technique is to get on the good side of everyone in the family, everyone.
They research, pretend to have things in common, to like the same things, to have the same views of life, and to make it more believable they always go for the person who is closest in age with them.
Usually i dont get involved in this situations because im younger than everyone else, the only teen in the family.
The thing is, this family also had someone around my age.
A 18 year old guy.....eighteen.
Let me tell you, i really wasn't going for trouble today, i tought he may be a normal guy, just with a little money, someone i could have a conversation with, drink some coffe, laugh and go back home and think "hey, not so bad"
He.was.not.
All he could talk about is how much money his family had, where he went for winter break, his pure blood horse, that only ate (attention to this one) IMPORTED GRASS.
Overall a huge dick.
But that i could handle, i've met people like this, i could handle a shitty talk for some hours, what i could not handle was having to go through all this with his hand on my knee bellow the table.
And here i was, spending one of my last days of spring being tortured by the fates.
"You're not paying much attention to the conversation are you?" He said, and gods that accent was almost making me want to jump out of a cliff, or push him out of a cliff, both would work.
"Oh sorry i was-"
"No need to apologize, people get bored i know" Not that he did something criminal by not letting me finish my sentence but, my gods every action coming from him its making me want to die right now "Its okay, i could find some way to make you focus"
Okay, im done
"Im gonna need you to stop saying odd shit" I looked him dead in the eye with a bothered look, and by the surprised look he gave me back i was 100% sure nobody ever told him to shut up when he was saying nonsense.
"C'mon, dont be like that-" he said trying to get his hand a little but upwards, and i only realized i slapped him when i felt my hand burning.
"Oh my gods im sorry i-" And then i heard the camera flashes.
Im going to need you to imagine the scene, my hand was still up, his hand was till on his cheek, and he had a scared look in his face, as did most of the people at the fancy coffe shop.
Do i smile now? Strike a pose? This one is definetly getting front pages at every place.
I chose the safest choice, got out of that straight to my house.
No..i did not payed the bill.
The whole way home i was trying really hard to think of something to say that was not going to make my family mad, especially my grandfather, but considering whe has always mad with something, that felt like a impossible mission.
First thing i saw when i opened the door of the penthouse was my mom, standing in front of the television, and sure enough, my face was on it.
She turned to me, but before she could even say something i started to explain myself.
"Its not what it looks like mom, i swear, i didn't do it on pourpose, let me explain please-" i couldnt actually read the look on her face, but she didnt say anything, so  i took that as a go ahead.
When i explained her what happened her face relaxed a bit, but not completely, and she had a look that said your grandpa is getting in my nerves because of this.
"I'll talk to your grandfather about this, but you need to know that the way you acted wasn't appropriate, there is cameras all around and you need to be careful...lets just thank the gods you didnt pulled out a dagger right?" She walked closer to me, and i knew she was trying to comfort me, its a pitty actually, i knew she didnt wanted kids when she had me, i knew how grandpa treated her when he found out, to me, it was enough that she at least tried to love me enough.  "You already have your things packed to camp right? I know you have some more days of school but ill call them and tell them you are sick, its best for you to leave earlier this year, then your grandfather wont talk your ears out...you okay with that?"
"Yes mama, ill just finish packing some small things...do i leave today?" I felt her hands on my shoulders, and heard a silent im sorry.
"Yes, but dont be like that, think that you at least wont have to see the news talking about you..youll just be there, with your siblings, eating strawberies and..whatever else demigods do daily, right?"
Like i said, it is enough to me that she tries, even when she isnt great all the time, i know people who dont even have this.
I nodded and went to my room, making sure not to accidentally hit a new sculpture, placed in the corridor.
I didnt wait for her when i finished packing.
I knew she wouldnt be the one to take me there, she never is, she has things to do with the family business, its what ive always heard.
So when i got to the underground garage with my bags i automatically searched for one of the family drivers, sure enough, he was there.
He was a nice guy, but quiet, i knew that he probably had orders not to talk to the family members unless spoken to, grandpa did this with all of them, i also knew he never actually knows where hes been taking me, he takes me there almos every year, but always stops at the road in front of the forest, maybe this sad look he has on his face its because he thinks he is taking me to one of those crazy wilderness therapies as a punishment.
Granpa would absolutely do that if he hadnt had to live with a great public appearence.
"Miss? We are here" He looked at me in the rearview mirror, i only realized i had doze of when my eyes met his and i blinked. "Hold on tight, im going to help you with your luggage okay?"
"Oh..thank you mr bell" He opened the trunk, and then the back door for me, extending his hand to help me get out of the car "thank you, again"
"Sure miss, just let me take your bags out and we are all set okay?-"
Another car dor noise made us both look to the right, to find Clarisse La rue, closing a taxi door, with just one big suitcase in hand.
Now, my story with Clarisse is kind of complicated, i've met her when he were, eight i guess, her family bought some shares in the family business and we saw each other very regulaly, and ever since then everything everyone told me about her is that she is a troublesome girl, that i should stay far.
But she was the one who realized i was a demigodess, and took me straight to camp when a monster found me, and she was the one who, many times when we were little, comforted me when my family made me cry.
It seems like she forgot all of that because she never even looks at me.
If you ask her, she has never even met me at all actually.
"Clarisse, you're early"
"Cassandra, you too-"
"Cass actually, i prefer cass" i corrected her, to wich she just rolled her eyes and muffled a whatever. "Thats all you are taking? One suitcase?"
"And you are taking all that? How do you plan on walking the whole way with all that? Im assuming he wont go with you" she said looking at mr bell, and its true, he could not walk the whole way with me, and i could not walk with all that alone...fuck
"....you could help m-"
"No, dont even think about it"
"C'mon Clarisse!" She didnt even answered me this time actually. "Arent you a Ares-" i looked at the driver taking the suitcases out. "A ares...type of kid? You will pass on the oportunity to demonstrate your muscles or whatever?"
She started to walk away with a bored look, did i already said fuck?
"C'mon ill do whatever! I- i dont know.. 20 dracmas!, no?, ill help you with the cleaning duty you'll eventually have when you fuck it up? I..ill do that AND ill cure you anytime you want, everyday, no matter the time!"
She stopped walking.
Yes! I knew it, one of the many problems clarisse had its that she likes to go out at night to train alone, and when she gets hurt she cant ask anyone to help her, because she would get caught
"Give me those suitcases already and shut up-" she was interrupted by a very happy me hugging her.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouclarisse!"
I felt her hands on my arms and realized she was going to push me away, so i took a step back
"Geez Clarisse, you could've just told me to back off, dont be like that... just take these and ill take those"
I said pointing to the suitcases, and saying goodbye to mr bell.
Can i already welcome summer and his crazy energy? No? Okay.

The Truth Of Behind Seventeen’s Rosalie
By Kim Iseul

March 23, 2021
Interviewer: “Thank you for sitting down with us at Vogue today, Ms. Rosalie! We’re excited to have you.
Rosalie: [Smiles] “Oh well thank you for having me, I’m excited to be here!”
Interviewer: “You have such a beautiful name! Rosalie is just gorgeous but it’s not your birth name, it’s just a stage name?
Rosalie: “Yes it is a stage name!”
Interviewer: “How did you decide on Rosalie being the name for your Career instead of sticking with your birth name Jihye?”
Rosalie: “I love my birth name, do not get me wrong.” [Laughs] “Well my Dad is Korean so he chose my name Park Jihye where as my Mom is French and chose the name Rosalie Dumont, which is my Mama’s surname!”
Interviewer: “Oh really! It must’ve been nice growing up in France!”
Rosalie: [Holds her hands to her heart, pouting] “It was, I miss it so much.”
Rosalie: “But I was called Rosalie my whole life by all of my friends in France as well as my Mama’s side of the family, it kinda just stuck once I got to Korea for training? My dad started to call me Rosalie too. The only time I was called Jihye was by my Appa’s side of the family or when I was in serious trouble!”
Interviewer: [Nods her head] “Oh wow. Well I feel like it suits well!”
Rosalie: “Thank you!”
Interviewer: “Speaking of your training in Korea, tell me about that. How many years did you train to be an idol?”
Rosalie: “I trained for 2 years, from March 2013 to May 2015. It was a brutal couple of years.”
Interviewer: “Why do you say that?”
Rosalie: [She sighs] “Well I was brand new to the country. I mean I had visited every now and then to see my Grandma and Grandpa but never on my own for my own personal reasons. It was very hard for me to be there without my parents and little sister.”
Interviewer: “You seem very close to your family?”
Rosalie: “Oh, I am completely. When I was little I was very attached to my Appa and my Mama and wanted to do everything with them. If I was playing dollhouse, Appa had to join me but Mama had to be there too so she wasn’t left out! Ya know?”
Interviewer: [Nods and chuckles]
Rosalie: “When my little sister Valentine or Sarang, whichever you’d like to call her, came into the world my parents thought I would be upset but they told me they were suprised when all I wanted to do was hold her and play with her.” [She giggles] “My parents said if I got something like on my birthday I would immediately share it with Valentine! And Valentine is my little mini me, she loves to play dress up with my clothes and always facetimes me on Mama’s phone telling me all about her day!”
Rosalie: “Sorry I got a little carried away there! But, it was definitely a struggle for me to be away from them but i took any chance I could to see and talk to them! I still do!”
Interviewer: “That’s so sweet. It’s nice to see such a deep love someone has for their family!”
Interviewer: “Whenever you were training for those two years, supposedly only a quarter of it was spent training with the other female trainee’s and then the rest of your trainee period was spent with the males.”
Rosalie: “Ah! Yes, I was training for only maybe three (3) months with the other female trainee’s before the Pledis CEO requested that I train with these specific trainees. Which I thought was maybe a mix between both female and male because that’s what I was told” [Fake laughs] “But no I was training with the members that would turn out to be SEVENTEEN.”
Interviewer: “Did you get along with the boys when you first met? Was it awkward or did you just go about it as you would with your fellow female trainee’s at the time?”
Rosalie: “I think I got along with everyone when we were younger. I’m sure it was a bit awkward in the beginning because we were all told it was a mix of boys and girls and Pledis was finally going to debut a co-ed group, but no I was the only female and I didn’t think i ever got an explanation for that one!” [She laughs and scratches at her head in confusion]
Rosalie: “I mean technically Pledis did debut a co-ed group it’s just there is only one female compared to thirteen males.”
Interviewer: “I was meaning to ask you about that. You’ve never really spoken about the after effects of you debuting in a male dominated group, have you?”
Rosalie: “No I have not, but I’m assuming you would like too?” [She smiles]
Interviewer: “If that’s alright with you I would like to ask some questions regarding it.”
Rosalie: “Of course I don’t mind.”
Interviewer: “How was it for you when you first debuted in SEVENTEEN? Cause it did come to a shock to fans of other groups when news was released of a female debuting in a mostly male group.”
Rosalie: “Well, while we were all trainees we had those video logs the company would upload to the youtube channel and the comments weren’t too bad, I think some of them thought I was one of the boys younger sister who would just come around for no reason and had like ‘special’ permission to be with them.”
Interview: “That’s a way to look at it!” [She laughs]
Rosalie: “Oh yeah!”
Rosalie: “But I could handle those comments because it wasn’t anything personal! Most people just thought I was adorable and enjoyed my voice. Nobody took me seriously at that point and I don’t think I minded, but it gave me a false sense of security you could say.”
Interviewer: “It gave you a false sense of security for what would happen with your debuting?”
Rosalie: “Yes exactly! Maybe it was me being cocky or ignorant but I assumed everyone would like me and I wouldn’t have any problems but I was also 15 years old when I debuted with the boys so I was in my own LaLa Land at that point and focused on school and singing.
Rosalie: “When I did debut it was very 50/50 reactions. Some of korea loved me and some of korea hated me. It was very hard for me to come to terms with it. Again maybe it was an ego thing but I could not handle the fact that the people didn’t like me but I also didn’t want to bring the group. So I trusted in Pledis and hoped that everything would settle down.”
Interviewer: “It didn’t, did it?”
Rosalie: [Unenthusiastically laughs] “No, it did not.”
Rosalie: “There was the constant messages that I couldn’t keep up with the boys, that I was a slut for being around so many guys and sleeping in a dorm with them, that I don’t deserve to even be in Korea because I didn’t look the part. It was troubling for me. I was fifteen (15) and didn’t know how to handle it in the beginning so I just cried to be honest. Every night I would cry on Seungcheol Oppa’s shoulders and just constantly ask if I was good enough to be in a group with the boys.”
Interviewer: “I’m sorry you had to go through that at such a young age! I have to say I saw your performances and I can declare with confidence that you can keep up with those boys and dance so well!”
Rosalie: [Blushes] “Oh, thank you. I appreciate that a lot.”
Interview: “Another thing, SEVENTEEN is a very big group do you ever feel overlooked or outnumbered especially being the only female?”
Rosalie: “I do and for a long time it was hard for me to admit because I didn’t want to seem ungrateful for the fact that I even debuted because I know some people who were training for longer than me and never even got chosen to debut:”
Interviewer: “Of course, I can see where you’re coming from.”
Rosalie: “In SEVENTEEN there are a lot of big personalities and we all try to have our own time to shine but yeah it does become difficult. Yes, me being the only female gives me some time to shine but not in the best light most of the time. There will be times I’m overlooked in interviews because all they wanna know is if I’m dating one of the members or if I’m ever going to go solo!”
Rosalie: “It becomes frustrating after so long. There was even a couple instances where fans and even Idol groups that I looked up to assumed I was just a female backup dancer. It became discerning for me and I lost faith in myself and was trying to figure out a way to make it work. I tried to find a way where people knew me for who I was as Rosalie but also how to establish myself as the 14th member and maknae of SEVENTEEN.”
Interviewer: “Did you ever consider leaving SEVENTEEN? With how you’re describing it all it seems like it was very intense for you at such a young age.”
Rosalie: [She sighs deeply] “Wow you are asking those hard hitting questions!”
Interview: “Oh I’m sorry if you don’t feel comfortable answering than you do not have to! We can move on to a different topic.”
Rosalie: “No no! It’s fine I appreciate it, it’s very different from my usual routine questions.”
Rosalie: “Um. . .” [She pauses and chews on her lips] “I have actually thought about leaving the group.”
Interviewer: “Oh really? Can I ask when you thought about it and why?”
Rosalie: “Yeah.” [She smiled] “Sorry I’m going to try not to cry cause this was a really hard point for me when I was thinking about it.”
Interviewer: “Take your time.”
Rosalie: “I was having these thoughts around 2017 and 2018? I’m pretty sure it was around that time. It was when we were getting extremely popular and finally getting recognized. With all the attention on the group meant more attention on the fact that I’m the only girl.”
Rosalie: “At that point I was getting hate comments every single day. On every single social media post I made there was hundreds of comments about how I shouldn’t be in the group and that I should just go back to whatever country I came from because I’m not Korean. Pledis would constantly get letters asking for the removal of me from the group because SEVENTEEN would do a lot better without me. It even got to the point of people were finding my mother’s bakery and were sending letters and reviews on the website about me, and she had to close down for some time.” [She starts to tear up]
Rosalie: “And at that point I knew that these fans didn’t see me for me, they didn’t see the time and effort I put into keeping up the boys and trying to establish myself or at least they did and they just didn’t care. I had spoken to the CEO of Pledis and let him know that I was contemplating on my position in the group. Nobody saw me as Rosalie the Main vocalist of SEVENTEEN, they saw me as a block in the road for what SEVENTEEN could become. It hurt so much.”
Interviewer: [Passes some tissues to Rosalie]
Rosalie: “Thank you.”
Rosalie: “I was ready to go but the boys weren’t ready for it and literally would not let me leave the dorm.”
Interviewer: “Really?” [Makes a surprised face]
Rosalie: “Really!” [She laughs while wiping her tears] “They locked my bags in Mingyu’s room since they knew he’s the one member I couldn’t get around and hid my plane ticket that was going to take me from Seoul, South Korea back to Paris, France. So if it wasn’t for that day I would probably be back in Paris finishing off college.”
Interviewer: “Well I’m sure Carats are glad they held your luggage hostage that day.” [She laughs]
Rosalie: [Nods] “Same”
Interviewer: “You’ve come a long way.”
Rosalie: “Thank you! I feel a lot more comfortable in my position with SEVENTEEN and I’m hoping for more positive memories in the future.”
Interviewer: [Nods]
Interviewer: “I’ve got one last question that is on a lighter note! Who is Rosalie? What do you want people to know when they think of SEVENTEEN’s Rosalie?”
Rosalie: “Wow, I love that question.”
Rosalie: “I want people to think of passion and love when they think of me. I have a lot of passion for what I do and I try to spread love and positivity to wherever I go. I hope to bring more joy to people’s life and to be a comfort to those who need it.”
Interviewer: “I love that! Well thank you again Rosalie for taking the time out of your day to visit us at Vogue and answering the questions we had for you!”
Rosalie: “Of course! I hope to be back for more some day!”

No following; Planet of the apes fanfic Chap. 2
*Author's note*
And here we are with the second chapter of my new POTA series. Like I said I'll be binge posting today so buckle up everyone! Here we get snippets of growing up with Caesar and Lin. Now I have written some scenes based off of deleted scenes from Rise and that'll be the case for some of series. If I find a deleted scene that could fit the story, I'll work around it and place it into my story.
Reminder I do NOT own Planet of the Apes, it belongs to their respected owners, creators and studios. I also don't own any songs that I use for the fic, it's only for entertainment purposes.

All hail Julius Caesar! Well we didn’t call him Julius but Caesar definitely seemed to fit him, especially as he got older.  Now I had read that apes and monkeys were smart but Caesar—I’ll tell you he is something else.  Just short of a year old and he was already signing 24 words with ease, heck I can barely remember 10 of them.  But he’s brought a real light to the house, things just felt a lot more—happier, lighter.
No one seemed depressed anymore.  And I’ll say this, it’s definitely a lot of fun to now have someone to play with at home.  Sure I’ve got my school friends and the friends I’ve made at the rec center but Caesar brings something else that I can’t quite explain.  He looks up to me but also I learn from him, I don’t know if this even makes any sense but is this what it means to be a big sister?
Uncle Will spends most of his time in the study area always talking or taking notes about Caesar.  There’s always video cameras out whenever he’s doing something whether it was drawing, reading, or even playing chess (which he is a master at. Heck he treats checkers like it’s nothing and believe it or not, he’s beaten me at Candyland 17 times!).
Caesar is always up for learning and is so curious, it really is like having a baby around the house.  Like this one time I had caught him listening to some of my CD’s on his stereo with his headphones on, but his curiosity will also get him into trouble when I got mad when he came into my room and took a picture out from under my pillow.  No one and I mean absolutely no one ever touches that photo!
He got scared and kept hiding from me every time I entered a room until later that night uncle Will had me apologize to him and I told Caesar that the picture was something special to me and only I was allowed to look at it (that and uncle Will and grandpa if they were in the room too).  He took notice of my tone and demeanor as I spoke and we ended up snuggling up together on his bed as he comforted me.
Now at age two Caesar was really starting to grow up and show his intelligence.  He was completing puzzles and lego models for kids 8+ so for tweens like me who have to work hard for hours or even days on end on the Lego Star Wars Death star, Caesar can get it done within 24hrs.  Yeah he’s that smart.
I stormed in the house and walked past Irene, grandpa’s nurse and she greeted me.
“Hey Lin, how was your day?”
“It sucked! I’ll be in the attic!” I stomped up the stairs loudly and ran across the hall and reached up for the attic stairway but the rope kept swinging away from my fingertips.  “Damnit!” I hissed lowly as I looked around and found the stepstool.  “I swear I better get a growth spurt once I’m 16!” I pulled down the attic entryway but as I pulled down the staircase fully, I took a few deep breaths trying to calm down.
After scaring him the last time I got angry, I didn’t want to take my anger out on him after the bad day I had.  Once I was calm, I walked up the stairs into Caesar’s room.  Uncle Will and I had worked together to really enrich this old attic into a playroom for Caesar.
Some of the old toys I never played with again were now his, the stereo that stood on a desk filled with some books that he and I would read to Caesar.  All of them ranging from basic children’s books with lots of pictures to young tween novels like The Hobbit, Harry Potter or the Magic tree house series (those books I loved reading when I was little).
There was also some ‘monkey bars’ given for him to hang on or swing around on in order to climb up to the banisters above the balcony.  And of course the giant window that stood proudly at the center of the room and he could look out and see the entire neighborhood (well not the whole neighborhood but you get the picture).
“Caesar?” I called out.  I heard the sound of my old interactive toy phone being played with.  I walked over and looked over his bed and found Caesar on the ground, headphones on and being intrigued with the toy phone.  “Hey! Caesar!” I called out louder as I could faintly hear the loud music coming from his headphones.
He then turned to me and immediately reached for his monkey bars and swung himself onto the bed before bounding over to me and hugged me hotting happily.  The chord of the headphones came off and soon the music he was listening to now played through the speakers of the stereo.  I smiled and felt myself feeling better as he patted me enthusiastically.
“Hey buddy, hi. Oh I missed you too!” I separated from him as he continued to hoot and pant excitedly.  I took the headphones off his head and told him, “You listening to my cd’s again? John Williams this time huh? You like him too?” as E.T’s flying theme started playing through the speakers, Caesar hooted and jumped on the bed as his hands slammed onto the mattress.  “Yeah he’s the best composer ever, maybe I should get you to watch the film. I think you’d like it.”
I went over to the speaker and turned the volume down when I took notice of something on the table just across from his bed.  As I walked over to the table I asked him.
“Hey, where’d you get these puzzles?” Caesar stopped his excitement and just looked at me anxiously.  “Aren’t these grandpa’s puzzles?” I noticed that he had gotten three of my grandpa’s puzzles.  The 500 piece puzzles that only old people can seem to have the patience for.  One was a man and woman on a horse going over a beach, the other was of the New York skylight, and the third was the Declaration of Independence being signed.
The third one he was nearly done and he was about halfway done with the first two.  I turned to Caesar and raised my brow skeptically at him.  He looked down between the bed and my gaze before he lept over the bedframe and hid behind it and occasionally peeking out over the frame before hiding again.  I walked over and stroked along the puzzle of the man and woman on the beach as Caesar began nervously hooting and making a few hand gestures.
“Am I gonna tell?” I translated.  “No, no I won’t tell. This can be another secret of ours.” I heard Caesar walk back and hop onto the bed as I shook my head astounded.  “I can barely do the edge pieces to these things.” I walked over towards Caesar and collapsed across his bed letting out a deep sigh.  Caesar bounded his way over to me, his green eyes showing deep concern as he lowly hooted and signed again.  “Sad? You could say that.”
Caesar then lay down carefully and started stroking through my hair almost like he was grooming me.  I smiled softly and said.
“Thanks brother ape.” I reached and cupped the side of his face and he pressed his face against my palm.  “Never thought I’d see the day, but I don’t think Gabi and I are friends anymore. And it’s for real this time.” Caesar softly grunted as he pointed at the necklace I wore around my neck.  “Yeah, the same Gabi who gave me this, and I gave her one with my name when we both went to Disneyland last summer for our orchestra fieldtrip.”
I sat up as Caesar settled himself close to me, his hand resting on top of my lap as he rested his chin to my shoulder brushing my hair gingerly out of my face.
“I knew she had been acting distant lately, but I’d never thought it was because she was hanging out with Hannah and her cronies. Those girls made our lives hell last year, and now Gabi just up and joins in their little friend group and pretend I don’t exist!? After all we went through! I don’t…..” I felt a couple of tears slip down my face.
I then felt a rough yet gentle leather finger reach up and catch one of my tears.  I sniffled and rubbed my eyes harshly to try and get rid of the tears.
“I’m sorry Caesar, you don’t need all this teenage drama dumped on you.” Caesar softly hooted and signed.
‘Sister was sad, Caesar listened. Talking help?’ I smiled softly.
“Yeah. It did kinda help to talk about it. Can’t really dump this stuff onto gramps, and Uncle Will’s been busier than ever lately. Thank you Caesar.” He smiled at me before jumping off the bed and ran over to grab something.  He came back and placed something into my lap as he hooted softly.  I took the object and saw that it was a miniature handmade bicycle made out of two old toy wheels, some cooper wire, and old silver and green hinges.
I turned the wheels around and marveled at the bike.  It was practically a perfect replica of a real one and he made it with various materials and tools found around up here.  I looked up at Caesar who sat there looking modest.
“Did you make this?” Caesar pondered with his hand to his chin avoiding eye contact for a brief moment before looking at me and opening his mouth panting as he also smiled.  I felt myself smile more as I told him, “You’re a smart yet cheeky ape.” Caesar let out a laugh as I continued, “Maybe you can help me with my science project next eh?” I dug through my backpack and brought out all my books and folders as I showed Caesar what I had learned today in the 6h grade.
As night rolled around a sudden thunderstorm had swept over San Fransisco.  Thank god I already took my bath just an hour before the storm rolled around cause this was probably the worst storm I’ve ever heard.  A loud boom of thunder almost shook the house and I heard the fast paced running of Caesar racing down from the attic, as a flash of lightning struck from my window I suddenly was tackled to my bed and felt a shuddering, furry ape holding onto me while grunting and hooting fearfully.
“It’s okay Caesar, it’ll be okay.”
‘Thunder shake house. Will it be okay?’
“Of course it will. The wind can’t knock down this house, not like the trees outside.”
‘You’re sure?’
“Yes. Here why don’t you sleep with me tonight? I know Uncle Will says you gotta get used to sleeping by yourself when you’re scared but I think tonight he’ll have to learn to make an exception.” Caesar immediately settled himself onto my bed but refused to let go of my hand.
As I got settled in another loud boom of thunder made him shriek as he curled up beside me, his head burying itself into my chest.  I wrapped my arms around him and stroked through his fur in soothing circles.
“Shhhh, it’s okay. I’m here Caesar. It’s okay.” I softly spoke.  But even with my comforting touch and words, I could still feel him trembling in fear.  I thought long and hard until I remembered our favorite movie together.  Mighty Joe Young, the song they sing in the movie, it always seemed to put him in a good mood and he’d always say that the bond between Joe and Jill was like us.  So I did exactly what Jill did for Joe after he had destroyed his enclosure and sung the lullaby from the movie.

I looked down and saw that Caesar had now fallen asleep against my chest, his face now clear of any fear that he had before.  I smiled softly and kissed his forehead before whispering.
“Goodnight little brother.” I pulled the covers over the both of us and soon fell fast asleep holding Caesar in my arms.
And as it turned out, the storm from last night ended up carrying into the next morning.  So I knew that everyone would be driving frantically to their next destination (I swear if it’s not sunny weather, people lose their freakin minds!).  As I donned on my raingear and prepared to leave for the bus stop up the road, Caesar came and took my hand signing as he frantically hooted.
‘No go today. Stay here with Caesar!’
“I can’t Caesar. I’ve got a big math test today and I haven’t studied for it. I’ll be fine and so will you.” Caesar began pulling on my arm hard and fearfully but I took his hand and removed his grip from my arm.  “No Caesar! You stay, I go. No following.” I told him as I also signed it to him knowing that I meant it.
Caesar looked at me pitifully but stepped aside and allowed me to go.
“Be good, I’ll see you when I get back from school.” I kissed his head and opened up my umbrella before quickly racing out of the house for the bus stop.
It was a typical Wednesday (besides the weather).  And like I have every Monday, Weds. and Friday it was my favorite elective, Orchestra.  I’ve really come to love music just beyond listening to it.  Through our class whenever we’re not practicing for Districts, we play the most famous film scores like Pink Panther, Jurassic Park, E.T. we’ve even tried a couple of songs from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
When the bell rang signaling class was over, I packed up my violin and put away the music sheets back onto the table when my teacher Ms. Stanley called out to me.
“Lin, could you stay behind for a moment, I want to talk to you about something.”
“Sure Ms. Stanley, what is it? Am I in trouble?”
“No, no nothing like that. Since you came into my class, I’ve been taking notice of how you play. Most of the students here are in it for an easy grade or just to check something off their elective courses. But when I see you play, you almost seemed enveloped in the music. Like you become one with it.”
“Thanks Ms. Stanley. Growing up I’ve always loved hearing all the best film composers from John Williams to Hans Zimmer, James Horner, Alan Silvestri, James Newton Howard, John Powell, all those guys.”
“Do you know the San Francisco community music center?”
“I know of it but I’ve never been in it. I took lessons from the old rec center that used to be around before they moved buildings a year ago. But they only did up to 10 years old for lessons.”
“Well I happen to have an old college friend who works at the community center. And not only is he the head maestro but he also runs a tour group that goes out every summer to perform for various studios across America. How about you let me recommend you for an audition?”
“Me? Seriously?”
“You’ve got talent in the likes I rarely see in kids your age. Here why don’t you take this brochure and show it to your uncle and have him look at the website for more information. Then once I hear back from my friend I’ll give you the details after class.”
“Yeah, yeah I’ll—I’ll do that. Thank you Ms. Stanley.” I said taking the brochure from her hands and feeling my heart just ready to burst out of my chest in excitement.  I heard the warning bell ring and she quickly wrote me a late pass for my next class and I thanked her again as I raced out with a skip in my step.
Once school was over and I ran down the street in the rain I came up the stairs and quickly unlocked the door and came inside shaking off the raindrops from my umbrella and my raincoat.
“I’m home!” Irena soon came in and she greeted me.
“Hello Lin, had a good day?”
“Oh the best. Where’s gramps I gotta tell him something.”
“I’m afraid it’ll have to wait, your grandpa’s having a—bad day right now. I just had to step aside for a moment to calm myself down.”
“Ohh I see. I’m sorry Irena. But we really do appreciate you coming here, even if he has a bad day.” She merely gave me a hesitant nod but I could see it on her face, she was almost at her wits end with grandpa’s episodes.  I went upstairs to see Caesar and right away I was tackled by him the second I came into the attic space.  “Hey buddy glad to see me huh?”
He hooted and playfully we began to wrestle with each other before he had me pinned down and pretended to whack me repeatedly and I let out a few playful grunts before lying ‘dead’.  I heard Caesar’s curious cooing sounds as he paced around me before sniffing me.  That’s when I opened my eyes and blew air in his face which made him jump back as he shrieked and hollered playfully before laughing.
“Yeah, yeah I’d know you’d never hurt me.” He came up and hugged me before signing.
‘Happy?’
“You could say that. Oh Caesar you wouldn’t believe what my orchestra teacher told me.” I went over to Caesar’s bed and sat down and he came up beside me, curiously looking over my shoulder as I dug through my backpack for the brochure.  “This is the San Fransisco community center. It’s about roughly 25-30 minutes from here, they’ve got the best music and arts program in the entire city. My teacher told me she’s got a friend who’s the head Maestro for the Orchestra dept. there. And she said she’d get me an audition for them!”
Caesar hooted excitedly and signed to me.
‘You’ll get in it.’
“Well first we’ll have to see if he even agrees to have me audition. And if I do somehow get it, I can be a part of that orchestra for as long as I want. And I’ll even be able to tour around the country performing for thousands of people!”
‘You go away forever?’
“No, not forever Caesar. Of course I’ll come back, as long as you’re here waiting for me.” I took his hand.  “You’re my brother ape Caesar, I’ll always be there when you need me, just like I know you’ll be there for me.” Caesar let out a pant as he pulled my head towards him and we pressed our foreheads together as a sign of affection, rocking from side to side.
‘I love you Lin.’
“I love you too big guy. Now wanna learn some more sign language. Bet it gets kinda boring learning the same basics with Uncle Will.” I couldn’t help but tease.  Caesar playfully pushed me down onto the bed which made me laugh and Caesar also let out a laugh as well.  I then pulled out my homework and together we got to work practicing the lesson I was given for this week and to ready myself for the next test coming up in a couple of weeks.
Another year passed by and Caesar was now three years old.  As a surprise, we had planned a little birthday celebration for him.  I was in charge of the decorations and the table setting while Uncle Will made the cake stuffed with some of Caesar’s favorite fruits.  To make sure this was kept a surprise, grandpa promised he’d keep Caesar upstairs and entertain him while uncle Will and I got everything ready in the kitchen.
“How’s the cake coming along uncle Will?” I asked as I tied up another balloon and let it go up towards the ceiling.
“Oh pretty good.” I looked up and saw how he was covered in flour and frosting.
“Uhh uncle Will. I think the frosting’s supposed to go on the cake, not on your face.”
“Haha you’re hilarious.” He said sarcastically. “Just having a bit of trouble getting the last of the frosting out. You know how hard it is when you’re trying to get the last bit of toothpaste out, well imagine that but a bigger tube.”
“I thought you said we had enough frosting?”
“We do, it’s just always a bit tricky to get the frosting to come out especially with all these designs you’re making me do.”
“Hey I only suggested one tree but you had to do two of them, plus writing out the message in frosting. I had written on the list to get those eatable letters you can put on cakes.”
“Those are nothing but cheap plastic letters. And their too small, he could choak on them.”
“He’s smart to know not to eat them whole.”
“Whatever, just get back to decorating.” He ordered me.
“Yes sir squadron leader.” I saluted mockingly.
“Don’t get smart. We don’t have much time before Caesar gets restless and Charles can only hold him off for so long.” I nodded and got back to work.
“You think he’ll like my gift to him?”
“There’s no doubt about that. You’ve been working on it for months now practicing day and night.”
“Yeah, but……”
“Hey, no buts. He’ll love it, he loves it when you play your violin and knowing that you’ve been practicing his favorite score piece, he’s gonna love it.” I smiled softly as I finished setting up the table and Uncle Will finally brought over the cake.  “Okay, all that’s left is the candles and the guest of honor himself.”
“Should I go get them?”
“Be my guest.” He said as we both left the kitchen.  I headed up for the attic and saw both Caesar and grandpa sitting on the bed reading Julius Caesar.
“Sorry for interrupting but we’re ready.” Caesar looked at my with a head tilt as he hooted in confusion.  “We’ve got a surprise for you downstairs Caesar.” At that word, he began to hoot and shriek excitedly as he bounded over towards me.  “Okay, okay easy Caesar. Steady. First you’re gonna have to close your eyes.” He let out a whine but I told him, “don’t play that card on me. What good is a surprise if you just go down and see it? Now close your eyes.”
“C’mon Caesar, just play along with her.” Grandpa encouraged him as he came up and took his hand.  Caesar then climbed up into grandpa’s arms and closed his eyes as we both climbed down the stairs.  “Keep them closed, we’re almost there.” Grandpa told him, “No peeking.” Caesar hooted and started to bounce in grandpa’s arms until we finally came to the kitchen and I said.
“Okay, open them.” When Caesar removed his hand from his eyes, they grew wide at all the decorations as we all cried out.
“Surprise!” He let out some excited shrieks as he hopped out of grandpa’s arms and came over to the table and admired everything.  He first went over to uncle Will and hugged him.
“You’re welcome pal, happy birthday.” Caesar then came over to me and we hugged each other.
“Surprised you didn’t we?” Caesar let out a few excited pants as he smiled happily.
“Alright, here we go.” Uncle Will soon lit the candles as we all sat down around the table and we sang happy birthday to Caesar.  He was so happy as he looked at each of us and swayed in his seat before he blew out his candles by the end of the song.  We clapped and uncle Will began cutting the cake for each of us to eat.
Pictures were taken, laughs were had, and Caesar rejoiced at the new presents he got from grandpa and uncle Will.  Then the time came for me to give Caesar my gift.  I grabbed my violin and tuned it up before telling Caesar.
“Hey Caesar, come into the living room real quick.” Soon he, uncle Will and grandpa came in and Caesar and grandpa took a seat on the couch, uncle Will stood at the doorway between the living room and the kitchen with a video camera in hand.  “Uncle Will turn it off!” I cried out.
“It is off.”
“No it’s not why’s the red light on?”
“It’s the off light.” I looked at him annoyed. “Just go pretend I’m not doing anything.” I let out a groan but turned to Caesar and said.
“This is for you buddy, happy birthday.” I took a deep breath before exhaling as I held my violin to my shoulder and placed the bow along the strings.  I heard the song in my head and readied my fingers on the notes that needed to be played and soon the famed score for “E.T’s flying theme” began echoing through the living room.
Caesar let out a few excited pants and shrieks as he clapped before settling down and watched me in awe as I continued to play his favorite John Williams score.  Closing my eyes I felt myself enwrapped in the music as I could feel myself flying in the sky much like E.T and Elliot did on their bike.
Even though it was just me and my violin playing, no brass instruments or accompanying strings, I still gave as much emotion into this performance as I would if I had a whole orchestra with me.  Once I got to the end and finished the final notes, all went quiet before I heard the three person applause.
“Oh brava, bravo!” grandpa cheered.  I opened my eyes and bowed before Caesar came up and hugged me.  I set my violin down and hugged him back.
“Did you like it?”
‘Loved it! Caesar very happy! Thank you Lin.’ He signed as he hooted excitedly.
“You’re welcome little brother. Happy birthday.” I hugged him back and rocked him back and forth as I saw Uncle Will shut the camera off and he gave me a knowing smirk before winking at me.

strange nightmares
I had a really dumb idea for a drabble after todays streams but it's too short to post to my ao3 so here have some Wilbur and Tallulah
(it's not as angsty as it looks) (spoilers for phil's stream and charlie's streams from today) (also I wrote this in like 20 minutes)
~
“Are you ready to go to bed now, Tallulah?” Wilbur asked, smiling as he set the guitar down on the ground.
Tallulah seemed unsure. Her brows were scrunched as she rolled onto one side, before promptly rolling onto the other. Wilbur wondered if she wasn’t tired yet, but before he could ask, he noticed something troubling.
Her hands were shaking where they clutched at her blanket. It was then Wilbur’s gaze trailed up to her eyes again, and recognized the fear sitting in the brown.
“Are you scared of something?” He asked softly, scooting his chair closer to the end of the bed. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?”
Tallulah stared at him for a moment, her lip trembling as she seemed to have some kind of internal debate with herself. Then, she reached for her notepad on the nightstand, and began to write.
I’m scared I’m gonna have nightmares again
Wilbur blinked. “You’ve been having nightmares?” When Tallulah nodded, he made a pained noise. How long had she been having nightmares for? Did Phil know about them? Did he comfort her when she woke up? What were the nightmares about? Was it because he was gone so often, she didn’t feel safe without him?
“Oh darling,” he murmured, moving to sit on the edge of the bed so he could wrap her in his arms. “You don’t have to talk about them if you don’t want to, but what were your nightmares about?”
He waited for her to finish writing in the notepad before glancing over.
I had two nightmares last night. In one of them me and abuelito and chayanne were on an adventure but then we got killed by a really scary monster and died.
Wilbur hissed out a breath between his teeth. Goddammit, Phil.
While he didn’t doubt that Phil took great care of his granddaughter, Wilbur knew that taking her on all those adventures was going to cause something like this sooner or later. He’d wanted her to keep her childhood innocence for as long as possible, but now she was terrified she was going to get killed by a monster because her grandpa kept putting her in dangerous situations. What kind of a childhood was that?
“I’m so sorry-”
Before Wilbur could finish his sentence, Tallulah started writing again.
The addition said:
In the other one some weird man was standing over my bed and kept singing a song about giving me nightmares
Wilbur blinked. That didn’t sound like a monster dream.
“Did he do anything to you in the dream?” Wilbur asked, tugging her closer.
Tallulah shook her head and wrote: he just kept singing and then he left and now I have it stuck in my head
Hm. That was tricky.
“Well, maybe if we give the song new lyrics we can get that stuck in your head instead, so it’s not as scary,” Wilbur suggested, although he had no idea if that would help at all. “Would you wanna do that?”
If anything, brainstorming lyrics might just take her mind off the other nightmare with Phil and Chayanne, so at least there was that.
After a moment of consideration, Tallulah nodded.
“Okay, you wanna hum me the tune so I can see if I can play it on my guitar?”
Nodding again, Wilbur reached for his guitar as Tallulah cleared her throat. Then, she began to hum.
Only a few notes in, Wilbur recognized the tune.  “He sang the fucking Pokemon theme song?!”
Shrinking back at the volume of his voice, Tallulah gave him a confused look.
Wilbur blinked a few times. Should he even try to decipher that one? Where did she hear the Pokemon theme song? They didn't even have Netflix on this damn island!
Fuck. His daughter was somehow having nightmares about Ash Ketchum. Even though he'd never read a parenting book, he was pretty sure they didn't have an advice section for this.
Clearing his throat, Wilbur straightened back up, knowing he needed to focus on getting Tallulah to calm down so she could go to sleep.
"Sorry, uh, I'll explain what a Pokemon is tomorrow," Wilbur said, adjusting the guitar on his lap. "Anyway, uh, I actually already have some lyrics in mind for that if you wanna hear it?"
Tallulah nodded again, perking up at the promise of getting to hear him play guitar again.
Wilbur began to strum the familiar chords.
"I wanna be the very best, that no one ever was-"

me drama posting cuz i actually had a really good experience today but it was rly nerve wracking lmao
in case some of you didn't know, i currently live in montana!! it's a nice enough state for its nature and the like, but politically it's kind of a shit show. pros and cons y'know, but as a trans guy it's fairly lame. also, bcuz geography is important, i live in eastern montana, not on the cool western side where all the mountain queers go hang out. that's generalizing a lot but it is what it is so bare with
anyway, back in 2021 there was a bill passed (SB 280) that effectively made it impossible for trans people to change their gender marker on their birth certificate or other identifying documents without having a sex change surgery, while at the same time writing in that no surgery exists to change your sex on a chromosomal level or any of that bullshit. whereas before that bill was passed, montana law was a little more loosey goosey about it. mainly in that it didn't yet have a republican legislature hyperfixated on a culture war to drum up support so trans people weren't really IDENTIFIED by the law, which was ironically kind of easier to navigate. idk, shit weird, i'm no expert
anyway, tbh, i never really CARED about changing my gender marker. i changed my name legally back when i was like 15 or 16 and i believe, at that time, i had the option to simultaneously change my gender marker. for whatever reason, i decided not to. i think it had something to do with healthcare and trying not to fuck up the future possibility of getting on T, which didn't happen for another year for me. i've also always been fairly loose about my gender identity in terms of a full identification with maleness/manhood. like, i'm a guy, i'm a dude, don't call me anything except that, but on a deeply personal level i see myself a little more in between on that kind of scale. maybe something inherently non-binary but no label has ever quite fit the bill, so trans guy with an asterisk will have to do. anyway!!! i don't really recall why i made that call, but i had, and it truthfully never really got me into any trouble. for all the times i later had to flash my ID, even to this date, i can only really recall one time where a gas station clerk gave me a weird look and said "sir... ma'am... sir-ma'am... here ya go" when i was buying cigarettes lmao. i was never questioned about it by employers and as far as i know was never turned away from a job because of it (which is good because montana doesn't have employment protections for trans people (last i checked)). so i truthfully spent a good 7 or so years relatively unbothered by this fact or by the fact that i had an F on my driver's license. it was inconsequential to me
recently though with republicans doing more and more lines of anti-LGBTQ cocaine and more people becoming aware of trans people, it's been unsettling here. y'know just mildly discomforting. and mentally that is fatiguing. i've also only now encountered some bureaucratic bullshit that's like okay, wow, this is actually going to be a bigger problem in the future and i'm not wanting to deal with that. mainly in the form of i'm getting married here soon, we want to try and do some kind of honeymoon adventure in the distant future, so for that i need an passport and from what i've read that can be a real fucking headache for trans people and it can be even harder to change in the future. so like blugh. i'm also in the process of applying to grad school and it's just--kind of annoying to have to identify myself a certain way. it's weird cuz i won't pretend it's put me in some life-threatening situation or there's anything that feels DIRE about needing to change it, but it just feels like there'd be a lot less awkwardness and vulnerability if i did. ironically when montanans were less redpilled i didn't care about changing all my legal shit over, but now that your average grandpa here thinks of trans people as botched teenage girls or child predators in bathrooms and THAT's their reason for getting out of the house to go to the polls next year, well yeah now i give a shit about "deceiving" the system. idk it's dumb
anyway i actually KNOW the girl who is the plaintiff against the govt in the lawsuit against SB 280. she's really cool and it's cool that i know her. i ended up reaching out to her a few months back to ask how that was going and what it meant for changing your gender marker in MT. and fantastically i had found out that late 2022 the judge on the case had issued an order that forced the DPHHS to suspend its practice under SB 280 since it was a fundamentally unworkable law and to return to its original practice prior, which allowed trans people and frankly anyone else with good enough cause to change their gender marker without meeting some bullshit made up requirements by the state.
it then took me months to get the gumption to actually write, edit, and file a petition for it. which i finally did today, and it surprisingly all got done in an afternoon, even though hypothetically the courthouse at 1PM on a tuesday should've been fairly busy. i'll be interested to see how it goes, because just cuz it's filed doesn't mean anything is certain. to my knowledge, LEGALLY, it should be a done deal, i should get an order from the judge that will allow me to get a new birth certificate and a new driver's license and all that jazz. but what do i know? the judge may want to have a hearing about it, which could be incredibly awkward in a courtroom full of other people waiting to have their cases heard, but idfk. my fingers are crossed that it'll go okay.
and it was kind of a good experience? i was as anxious as one could imagine. i'm a bearded dude walking in with paperwork asking kindly for an F to become an M lol. and the gals at the courthouse were momentarily confused, raised a few brows, had to talk to someone to see what the current rulings were in that previously mentioned lawsuit, but they were nice enough about it. they got my shit filed, they took $120 from me rather apologetically cuz that's what shit costs to file a civil petition in the state district courts. i get to find out by email if the judge will just approve the order i drafted or if he's going to want to speak to me. and i'm hoping either of those things happen before the wedding so none of that paperwork becomes a headache.
anyway this is a long post cuz i have a lot of thoughts and either i ramble on and on to my fiancee about it or i just splurge on whatever few unfortunate souls decide to read this :) thx if you do. there's no point really to any of it yk just airing out some thoughts i guess. i'll go draw some gay shit now <3

RL Simself Story ( 18+)
CW: Pregnancy, babies, addiction, trauma
I went to my Doc to get my pill prescription and I also told him I was pregnant. I got good news. I can actually keep my Baby. There are no serious health consequences/probs for my little one.
Nevertheless, it may be that my Baby will go through withdrawal the first days after delivery. 🙁😥 But he explained to me and assured me, that this is not as serious as it may sound. In my situation, it was ok! I was stable and my medication just right. If my Baby gets a withdrawal, it’s just gonna be an easy one. A... mild withdrawal, that's how he called it.
He said it's important that I do not have or get withdrawal symptoms now, during pregnancy!! Because this can harm my Baby!! He even said that it might be necessary to increase my dose during pregnancy to avoid withdrawal. As long as the baby is inside me (unborn), the doctors can’t help him or her. But after delivery, if necessary, withdrawal in newborns can be easily treated without the babies becoming seriously ill or suffering from consequential damage. Therefore, it's important that I am closely monitored during pregnancy, by doctors who are familiar with "neonatal abstinence syndrome". He referred me to a special clinic, where drug addicted pregnant women are treated. What I will experience there, I will tell soon.
Anyway, this news and information has totally unsettled me. Especially that neonatal abstinence syndrome. That's about severe withdrawal in newborns. Babies who go through this have to be treated in the intensive care unit and get morphine. 😭😟😞 It’s pretty serious. I really panicked when I googled it!
After I went to the doctor, I was on my way to my grandparents, my Grams called me. She wanted to talk to me. It was already very dark so I felt somehow uncomfortable. I never had a problem walking through the city at night! On the contrary! I always enjoyed it. But I made a mistake! First, I was totally upset about all this baby news. Second, I walked past a dark alley, that looked exactly like the street where Daniel and I were attacked a few months ago. There was no one around, I felt totally alone and abandoned.
I took my phone. I wanted to call my grandma so that she or my grandpa could come down and pick me up from there, because I realized, I couldn’t move! I was frozen with fear! I saw Daniel lying dead on the street. All the cruel pictures that haunted me for months of Daniel lying there dead, came up again. I just stood there looking into the dark void.... Suddenly I heard a voice. "Hello?" .... Ha?" ... "A.!" Can you hear me?"... "HELLO!" It was my Grams, she took off her phone.
I asked her to pick me up from this place. My grandma told me Nico was with her! 😲 Ha? What?... Nico was at my parents first. He was looking for me, because I didn’t want to talk to him. I was still pissed about Stephanie!! However, Nico talked to my Dad today! 😥... My Mom told Nico, that I was planning to stay with my grandparents. I also had an argument with my Mom & Dad. Well, N. knew where my Grams lives, so he went to them to see me. Besides, Nico never had any trouble with my grandparents, which is why he’s glad I was there. They were the only ones in my family who liked him.🤷‍♀️But is that still the case??? They also loved Daniel, just like my Mom & Dad. So, let's see.

I have trouble with emotional interospection sometimes and it can be hard to figure out why the hell I feel like shit today. Sometimes I have to do a tedious thought process to figure out whatever it is that's bothering me so goddamn much, like this:
> I feel like my brains been spaghetti all day but nothing seems to help, what's up with me today?
> Hm, I feel really sad and tear up when thinking about Grandpa, it must be related to grief. But I don't just feel sad, I feel really stressed out and like I'm stuck in a dense thick fog where I can't see ahead. I also feel like I'm disconnected from the world somewhat.
> Oh! I remember this feeling! This is how I felt when I went to visit him for the last time. Okay, but why am I feeling this way now, there is nothing significant about the beginning of August...
> The only thing similar is.... trade night is coming up! I got to trade night for the first time in January, but couldn't in February because I went to visit Grandpa. And due to a serious of unfortunate events that happened the same time every month, I now get to go to my second trade night in August.
> I see now, the upcoming trade night has reminded me of my last visit with Grandpa and the stress that came with it. I understand why I feel so shitty.
Knowing this doesn't really lessen the emotional weight but it is a lot easier to conceptualize and deal with than a vague "I feel really bad :("
A good journaling exercise for me is writing down everything that sucks in my life or has changed recently. Hopefully, doing this will help me figure out the thing that is bothering me so much. Said singular things are usually at the tip of my tongue. Once I think of them, I know for sure that's what it is! Otherwise, I now have a big list of things to look at and think, "Yep! That's a lot of bad things to feel shitty about."

Rewrote a scene from Solaricks from Rick's first person pov because this scene makes me go insaneeeeeeee
I went into my spaceship, I heard that fucking voice that sounded like Diane again. That thing I built to haunt me. It was the least I could do. Diane's death was all my fault. I wasn't fast enough. If I didn't fucking stand there, frozen in shock like a pussy, she'd still be alive today. I'm sure of it. But then again, I'm sure if Prime wanted someone dead, there's not a lot anyone can do to stop him. "Is that symbolic? Are you letting go? I understand baby!" She..I mean it laughed a little. Ignore her…ignore it…igno- "I forgive you!" What? Fuck no. I couldn't let myself hear this. This wasn't her! I snapped "You don't get to say! You're not her! You're a thing I built to torture myself! This whole fucking timeline is cursed! I gotta get out of here!" She spoke with mock sympathy, "Because you wanna move on." "BECAUSE I DON'T!" I held back to urge to hit myself for letting myself say that. I thought of Beth, Summer…Morty. "A-burp-nd I have to." I looked over in the direction of the voice…it was almost like talking to her again. "I came back on accident…the guy I'm looking for…he's not findable Diane…" I closed my eyes and recollected myself. "I live with a version of Beth now…" Diane exclaimed, "Sounds like a version of nice!" Heh, I'm sure she'd love to hear about our grandkids. I could talk to her about them all day, I know that she'd love Morty. I'm sure the kid would love her too. I continued "We have grandkids, that's who Summer is. She's going to get me out of here." I thought about Summer, her determination…her spirit…"She reminds me of you." Diane spoke, and you could basically hear the smile in her voice (if she wasn't a disembodied voice) "Oh really?" I almost smiled, until her voice stopped me in my tracks "Is she dead too?" I looked down. "Goodbye Diane."
I prepared to fly into the rift, the voice stopped my train of thought "You're not honestly going to fly into the rift without coordinates, are you?" I felt my stomach churn with her next words "Don't give up on us, Rick!" The voice continued "I don't make the rules! Haunters gonna haunt!" My unibrow furrowed. Ignore, ignore, ignore. I began flying, seeing the rifts, I could still hear the fucking voice "Baby?" Fuck. Hearing Diane's voice say that again…..no. It wasn't her. IT WASN'T HER! "Are you killing yourself?" Heh. I wish. "I'm more embracing the win-win of risking my life." I took a deep breath in. I flew through the rift. The colors swirled and meshed. Changing every second. I couldn't even pin one color. This was no time to admire it. I had to remember what I was here for. "C'mon! C'mon! C'mon!" It fucking spoke again "Baby? Something to keep in mind…if you were pulled home by whatever happened, it's likely our target was as well." Fuck. It had a point. "It's also likely that he's having as much trouble leaving as you are. I wiped off the spittle from my bottom lip with my hand "He's trapped…"
Finally, finally! I heard Summer's voice "Grandpa?" I saw the coordinates. "Oh fuck yes!" I was able to detect Morty thanks to the tracking chip I had in his spine. Summer continued "Grand-" Her voice cut out "Grandpa!" I praised "Summer! Gold star! Always believed in you! Now the hard part." Summer spoke "Hard part?" I instructed "Way worse things than me can see that becaon too, hunker down and protect it while I grab Morty. Rick out. Try to survive!"
I crashed down, I should be in Morty's dimension, hopefully he's close by. I barely got out of my spaceship before I saw him. "Morty!" He ran to me with his arms outstretched like a fucking idiot. "Rick!" I kneeled down to his eyelevel, he was so fucking short. I held onto to his shoulder and he continued to speak "I knew it! I knew you wouldn't leave me!" I plucked out a strand of his hair "Ow!" I held back a wince, maybeeee I should've explained why I pulled it out beforehand, oh well, too late now. Not the weirdest thing I've done for sure. "What the fuck?" I couldn't be bothered to explain, not right now. I should be able to use his DNA to track Prime. "Morty, did you see another Rick here? Non-descript haircut, sci-fi jacket…eh, of course you didn't see him you'd be dead…" Another idea popped into my head "Or you'd be a bomb! Do you feel bomb-y?" I waited, he seemed fine. Thank god. "Nah, you probably would've blown up by now." Morty spoke "W-wasn't the Rick here dead? That's why you picked places, right?" Classic Morty, incapable of seeing the bigger picture "O- uhh your Rick uh…not dead…more like…not around, when I met you I was sorta hoping he might turn up one day." FUCK YEAH! I was finally able to track Prime! "You son of a bitch! I got you!" I ran into the spaceship, and Morty, like the dutiful partner he was, followed after me. "Wh-Where where are we going?" I answered in a matter-of-faculty manner "To kill your grandpa, little buddy." "Wait, what?" I sighed and explained "Your original Rick was Rick Prime, the Rick that killed my family, I came to this dimenson because I was hoping he'd come back one day, y'know, before it got corenberged, he was pulled back here, and now I can track him." I explained on the fly there. Morty blinked "I don't understand…my original Rick killed your family? And you were just waiting for him to come back?" Gee, thanks captain obvious. It's not like that's what I just said. "Seems like you understand fine, Morty. That was A+ retyping."
The spaceship serched to a stop "We're here." Morty couldn't see the building, so he assumed we were just in the vacuum of space. I opened up the spaceship and he covered his mouth, as if that would help, idiot. It wouldn't matter either way, I modified his body to be able to breath in space for a reason. "This guy Morty, he hates being found but loves building elaborate shit." I decided to put it in a way he'd understand "Like-like playing a bunch of Minecraft but on a private server." Morty uncovered his mouth "Am I in a fucking K-hole right now, what's going on!?" I threw something that would make the building visable.
I saw Prime's fucking face. I heard his annoying ass voice and laugh. "Woahhh ho-ho you found me!" I shot the moniter. It just reappeared in a different spot "Yeah, I'd shoot the first monitor too, listen I'm not here…or am I?" A tube appeared, Prime was in there. I wanted so badly to shoot it, but the glass was probably bullet-proof. "There's the clone you found!" Fuck. "Or maybe it's me all naked…" My eyes perked "Just a lil' Kysher Soscye. I mean, why would I admit it's not?" It started dancing "Ohhh look at him go, look at him dancing! O-or me! Again it might be me, but like a Saw thing! I'm veryyy sneaky, he's a bunch of killbots to deal with while you wrestle with that. Fuck.
I instinctively jumped to shield Morty, a blue shield surrounded us and the spaceship. Morty went in the spaceship while I shot the killbots. "Obviously I don't know who I'm talking to here, it's all prerecorded" I shot the mointer again, but it just reappeared, of course, what was I thinking? "Buttt if you got this far you probably think you're real special, tell ya what." The tube disapeared. FUCK! Why can't things just go right for once?! "Oo there he goes! Maybe that actually was me!" I got laser whips from my arms thanks to my implants, Prime contined "And if you follow him down there we can have a big fight! 50% chance I'm not lying!"
I heard Space Beth's voice, her voice occasionally getting cut out due to the static "We're in troubl- asshole! I shouldn- have to beg!" Morty whined "Rick, my moms are in trouble!" Ugh, what a planetary mindset." Those versions of them are." I reminded him. Morty continued with his squeaky voice "We gotta save them!" He flew the spaceship up slightly "Rick, this is an obvious trap!" I held back a scoff, as if he knew anything about traps. "If you go down there, he's just going to kill you!" I spoke without thinking "Good!" Morty blinked "What?"
He flew the spaceship down and started walking toward where the tube dropped. "Now what?" Morty replied "If you don't care if you die, why do you care if I die?" This little turd. He tried going down, but I pulled him back by his shirt "Knock it off! Get outta here! You did this last season! You're like a suicide bomber!" Morty replied "Takes one to know one!" Sharp tongue, must've got it from his grandpa. "Yeah? Well you get it from him, not me!"
Morty gestured over to him "I don't know him." He looked at me with those big doe eyes, how the fuck he could look at me with such trust, I have no clue. "You're my grandpa Rick." What? I felt my expression soften without my permission. This fucking kid…what did he think he was saying? There was no way he knew what he was saying or else he's just even fucking stupider than I thought, and that's saying something. I'm a fucking asshole to him, I know that! I insult him on the daily! I'm the worst fucking kind of person! A grandpa is someone who's supposed to be fucking decent, not some kind of fucked up manipulative person who's irrationally attached to you! So how the hell…his voice, which seemed a lot less annoying now, broke through my haze "Rick and Morty, 100 years." Jesus fucking Chirst. This kid was too pure for this world. He deserved a better grandpa.
Prime's voice, which was a lot more annoying, brokes my train of thought "This place totalllyyy might blow up by the way! Here'sssss a buncha countdowns!" A bunch of numbers appeared "One of them is probably accurate…"
Morty's eyebrows furrowed, I couldn't take him seriously when he was angry, he made this little face! "Well, I'm leaving!" He went in the spaceship. Well fuck, what kind of grandpa would I be if I let him save them on his own? I went in the driver's seat "If you're going to do it at least do it right!" I chastised. Morty smiled "You'll help me save my moms!?" I scoffed "Whatever." I felt something wrap around me. I tensed up and saw Morty hugging me "Thanks Rick." I scoffed "It's nothing, okay?" He let me go and I flew over to help Space Beth.

Today's episode of "Why is Astarion covered in blood?":
He went to jail for a crime he committed and then he did even worse crimes while in jail.
Gale got kidnapped by a shapechanging cult leader with a murder fetish. I wanted to get our sexy wizard out of that situation ASAP, so I headed right over to the tombstone store that is actually a front so I could break in and start a fight with the aforementioned cult leader's murder dad-grandpa. Astarion picks the lock but- oh, crap, I forgot to check for the steampunk robot police! So he got caught by a Steel Watcher and thrown in jail. He misty stepped out of his jail cell with no trouble but then I realized the cops took his weapons and those were really good weapons that I can't replace. So he broke back into jail to find the evidence chest with his stuff but got caught. Too late, he already got his knives back. So he cast darkness, stabbed a few guards to death, and then ran out of the police station before a 20 foot tall robot could beat him into a pulp. From there, he leisurely jogged back to the fake tombstone store, where the rest of the party was milling about. This time around, we waited until the cops patrolled past us before breaking in. Astarion picked the lock with a nat 20 on the first try.
Please ignore his fuck ass armor.
The building behind him doesn't have walls because Act 3 of this game makes my computer panic when I change maps.
