More ideas I'm too sleep deprived to write. This one courtesy of While you were sleeping and Mrs Winterbourne. (Yes I like to watch old movies, suck it gen alpha)
Two women in a boat, one sad shipwreck. Kate Sharma is on her way to England to take up a governess post after living her whole life in India (hoping to find her half sister Edwina, who was taken in by the Sheffields when Mary died). There she meets Benedict and Sophie, two newlyweds sympathetic to her family plight since they eloped behind Benedict's family back because Benedict feared they wouldn't accept him marrying the runaway bastard of an Earl. They just had their honeymoon in India and are traveling to reconcile with Benedict's family.
Sophie and Kate bond over being orphan girls forced to make their own way in the world and in a moment of admiring her wedding ring Sophie lets Kate try it on ( maybe one day you could get married too Kate, just imagine it) just as a terrible storm breaks out in the sea.
The Ship capsizes and the whereabouts of survivors become unknown. Next thing Kate knows she's waking up in a luxurious mansion, surrounded by kind and sympathetic people and a angelic woman who keeps referring to her as ' my new daughter'. Servants keep calling her ' Mrs Bridgerton ' and Kate knows something is wrong, what is this about a Shipwreck? Where is she? What happened to her? And most of all why do people keep staring at Sophie's ring?
Wait... Sophie's RING!!! where is Sophie!!!
Turns out that Kate washed away very close to the coast and the Bridgertons mistaked her for Benedict's new wife, who they had never seen because she was wearing the Bridgerton family ring. Oh what a mess, of course Benedict's pompous Viscount brother is suspicious, anybody would be!! But they're all so kind, and there's a possibility Benedict and Sophie might turn up any day right? Is it wrong for Kate to accept the Bridgerton hospitality until they're found, just while she looks for her long lost sister? Surely Benedict and Sophie can help her clear up the misunderstanding
Meanwhile Anthony is mighty wary of the woman who claims to be Sophie Bridgerton. For one, he knows Benedict, no way his softhearted brother would ever marry such a stubborn harridan, who shoots, rides and challenges his patience like the worst nightmare he's ever had. If anything Benedict's reconciliation letters painted Sophie as a forgiving considerate jewel without an unfriendly bone in her person. Nothing like the iron willed hag he finds himself arguing with anytime they cross paths. She's hiding something and he's going to figure out what. (But she also makes him laugh)
Kate eventually warms up to Anthony, against her better judgement, because he's really not that bad when he's not being overbearing, but the more she gets to know him, the more guilty she feels, she thinks she's falling in love with the pompous idiot but he thinks she's his sister in law, or worse, his WINDOWED sister in law. Please Benedict, wherever you washed up in that shipwreck, get back home with Sophie soon! Else Kate and Anthony are going to end up in a scandal.
An: if anyone wants to write this, feel free 😉

Contact me immediately if you are into movies like Forrest Gump and Fried green tomatoes because everyone at my goddamn school seem to have been born in the age of skibidi toilet rizz somehow despite being adults. what do you mean you have not seen Mrs. Winterbourne, you uncultured swine. You do not know the whimsy of watching someone being told a story on a bench or in a nursing home. You do not know the joy of lesbians before she-ra. You do not know the sadness of a movie that will make you cry your eyes out at midnight. You have never savoured substance, only consumed. You do not know the surprise at how many presidential assassin attempts happened in just thirty years of someone's life. You have never felt the awe at how good of technology they had in 198-. You do not know the feeling of yelling at the TV, not because you hate a character, but because that gay cuban man just tried to take the blame for fucking shooting a deadbeat dad, but it was actually the main character's cool ass mother-in-law. and I am sorry for you.

I'm rewatching Mrs. Winterbourne again and I just noticed this. But the man who gives Connie the directions to the shelter that ends up getting her on the train to Boston instead, just suddenly disappears while she's looking at the paper, almost ghost-like. Do you think there's supposed to be some insinuation that Mr. Winterbourne, Hugh and Bill's late father, is doing ghostly shenanigans to get Bill a wife?
Could it just be for the drama? To avoid an awkward end to the conversation? Sure. But could it be more?

📽️ Mrs. Winterbourne (1996)
I really enjoyed this movie! It’s kind of a While You Were Sleeping situation, except different. I went into this with absolutely no expectations, and I think that helped me to just enjoy it. It’s not like it’s a cinematic masterpiece, but it’s very enjoyable. I would definitely watch it again!
Sex/nudity: 3/10 (some kissing, a bit of sexual dialogue)
Violence: 3/10 (one dead body with some blood shown, a train crash shown but not blood in that scene)
Language: 5/10 (two f words both in one scene, numerous other profanities throughout)
Overall rating: 7/10

I wondered if there were Mrs. Winterbourne AU fics, the only one I saw was Omega Verse Hannibal.
I don't read Omega Verse, my personal thing, too much non/con in the genre. Like I know, there are ones that don't have it, but it's too common of an occurrence for me.
I wanted there to be fics with this AU because it's a good movie, and it did stuff that wasn't common for the 90s.

Hey! Just wondering if you could suggest some romantic/rom-com movies💖
Have a great day❤️🌼
Oh my goodness, I certainly can!! Thank you, bby! 💖💖
10 of my favorite romantic comedies:
(In no particular order.)
1. 10 Things I Hate About You
An absolute perfect movie. Dialogue, casting, story, romance, Heath Ledger, Shakespeare references, what more could a literary inclined girl want?
Tumblr media
2. A Cinderella Story
Another gift from the early 2000s. Is it cheesy? Sometimes. Is it adorable? Absolutely.
Tumblr media
3. He's Just Not That Into You
Hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, ensemble cast, but the endings for each couple are undoubtedly satisfying. Plus, my favorite rewind moment of all time:
Tumblr media
4. Crazy, Stupid Love
Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carrell, Josh Groban cameo. Need I say more? (But it will also unexpectedly grip your heart with profound, tender moments.)
Tumblr media
5. While You Were Sleeping
One of my favorite Sandra Bullock rom coms, of which there are many. (Honorary mentions: The Proposal, Practical Magic, Two Weeks Notice, and Miss Congeniality, though it's not really a rom com is one of my favorite movies in existence.)
Tumblr media
6. You've Got Mail
A classic of classics in rom com history. Meg Ryan at her best, Tom Hanks at his. She's a small, independent bookstore owner. He's essentially Barnes & Noble, coming in to disrupt New York with corporate America.
Tumblr media
7. Mrs. Winterbourne
A forgotten '90s Brendan Fraser must-see movie. He's the "rich playboy" type, she's scrappy and resourceful, pregnant by her deadbeat ex-boyfriend, and pretending to be the widow of Fraser's twin brother, who recently died in a train accident.
Tumblr media
8. Crazy Rich Asians
Based on a book, top-tier casting, bad ass mother-in-law, bad ass heroine, a classy, handsome, Good Man™️ hero? Sign me TF up.
Tumblr media
9. 13 Going on 30
Easily Jennifer Garner's best movie, but also Mark freakin' Ruffalo. They're adorable together, and this one's a classic in its own right, full of heart, back-stabbing bitches, and 80s music references.
Tumblr media
10. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
It's one of the best, folks. Also one of the most quotable movies in movie history lol. As a kid, I remember really identifying with Toula, who feels too plain, too big, too "frump girl."
But Ian never saw her that way. He genuinely laughs at her jokes. He's patient with her and sees her beauty, inside and out. He also deals with a lot of crap from her family in order to be with her, with all the grace and gentlemanly poise a guy could have.
And Toula learns to love herself, fall in love for the first time, and challenges every expectation of her family to do so.
Tumblr media
I have many, many more, but these are just a few of my favorites. What's yours?
Don't see it on this list? Drop it in the comments! 💋

Colin would definitely help Penelope hide a body. He'd bury the body first and ask questions later. He's her ride or die for sure 🤞
I agree. This reminds me so much to the plot of Mrs. Winterbourne, If you didn't watch that movie, I really recommend it.
Tumblr media
Specially because they had this dinamic very Pen and Colin too in some way.
I love this movie.

I know we all LOVE Brendan Fraser in The Mummy. It’s essentially the one fandom we’re all in. And we love George of the Jungle. It’s the Himbo romance we all fantasize about.
BUT….
For as much as we love and support Brendan, we really don’t talk about his other films enough. He was in amazing films, starring in both dramatic and comedic roles with equal skill, well before The Mummy or GotJ.
So, as a reminder, here are just a sample of some of his great films that need to be talked about more. If you haven’t seen these, please remedy that.
