Minecraft Items Challenge Attempt 2: Minecraft 1.2

Welcome to Minecraft 1.2. We have jungles, too bad we have a way to never see one.

First thing to do is the second to last file conversion. If you remember the first time I had to do this, my world got corrupted and I had to start from scratch. nothing went wrong this time, but I had backups... just in case.

All of the biomes have been scrambled for the last time, my base is now a taiga.

Turns out those glitchy alpha trees turned out to actually give me jungle leaves, so I don't have to look for a jungle because I already have access to jungle trees, melons, and cocoa beans which are the only unique items in jungles until 1.14

I made a new Collection Section, jungle planks this time.

I then replaced all of the oak wood planks with spruce wood planks, leaving my house in this weird half state between oak and spruce, in the process I broke my diamond axe. it turns out my base was made of 14 and a half stacks of oak wood planks.

I also replaced the glowstone on my bottom floor with redstone lamps, this is slightly better, real shame I am almost certainly swapping this out for sea lanterns for a few updates

I then crafted the two items not made of wood in this update. Fire and Light.

And here's the update, Jungle Planks, Jungle Log, Jungle Leaves, Birch Planks, Spruce Planks, Jungle Sapling, Redstone Lamps, and the Fire Charge.

Next up is Minecraft 1.3, an update I don't remember at all.

I've updated my world all the way to 1.3.1 since I last made a post about beta minecraft… I think I neglected to mention that I've updated the game every time I ran out of things to do. things that have happened since then:

- upgraded my mob farm to get all the discs in 1.1 and went through like 50 discs before I got a single strad - world's worst sugarcane farm was so inefficient that I built a regular one behind it - almost lost my world when I updated to 1.2.1 because some corrupted chunks loaded in for some reason while I was looking for a cat and it took me 4 hours to realize I could just delete those chunks manually to recover it (which fortunately weren't important chunks). nobody on the internet provided this answer by the way. nothing bad has happened since then. I now make backups - built a custom tree above my portal and next to the tower (which was made taller when the build height increased) and it took forever - pet teleportation broke so badly in 1.2.5 I almost went insane - I had to travel like 500 blocks just to find cows. I do not want to recount the events that went into me taking it back. just know that it involved one of my sitting dogs teleporting to me of its own volition, me accidentally punching a cow and the dog trying to kill it - weird balcony things that had cactus on them before are now enclosed towers with nothing in them - new cactus farm (the big rectangular building) went through two renditions once I updated for more wood colors (if it looks questionable now it looked very bad before) - I made a much needed railway to my blaze/exp farm - that building at the bottom is a piston cocoa bean farm and it literally took me like a week to figure out how to build the exterior

Spruce is a variety of coniferous evergreens native to taiga and snowy biomes. They are large trees, with whorled branches in a conical form. They are distinctive from Pines by their four-sided, needle-like leaves that are attached singularly to small persistent peg-like structures on their branches, and their cones which hang downwards after they’re pollinated. The needles are shed around 4-10 years old, leaving the branches rough with the retained pegs.

Spruce seedlings are susceptible to dying immediately after germination, and continue to be so by the following spring. More than half of seedling damage is a result of frost damage, smothering and erosion. Seedlings that germinate later in the growing season are most vulnerable with their size and have not had time to harden into more woody stems. But once settled, spruce saplings grow steadily for several years.

Spruce wood is useful as a building wood, ranging from general construction and crates, to highly specialised uses. Because this species has no insect or decay resistance qualities, it is recommended that spruce wood is used in indoor use, and if left outside untreated cannot be expected to last 12-18 months depending on climate. 

Spruce is also standard material as a soundboard for many string instruments like guitars, violins, and as the heart of the piano and harp. Wood used for this purpose is referred to as tonewood.

— he’ll start catching onto your superstitions subconsciously HELPP. you keep telling him to stop walking under flights of stairs or sweeping over people’s feet because it’s bad luck. at first he’s soo confused but he eventually starts telling his brothers to stop doing it as well because he’s terrified it’ll actually be bad luck.

— he has google translate ready for those rare occasions when you argue and you meaninglessly curse him out in spanish. lowkey finds it sexy bye 😣

— when you two start dating he starts to actually understand spanish, he can’t speak it even if his life depended on it but– this means you really can’t talk to your tías about his ass because he’ll understand every word. Also! There'd be a food shortage since only pigs drop meat and i don't think you can breed them, and there's also no enchanting since xp doesn't yet exist at this point. The lack of redstone components makes EVERYONE suffer. In session 2 when theyre still all friends and green they work together to make either a minecart track between some of their bases or maybe etho's boat road? It'd be fun and also another evo reference

Beds don't exist either but that's not really something important since it's both pre-phantom era and hardcore (spawn traps could be insane)

She's not only funny, badass, skilled, and genius, but on top of all of that, she's Kind and she puts in the work!!! Have you seen her videos? The editing and cinematography that goes into them is STUNNING. The thought that goes into the freaking ANGLES of her videos????? She went over one of her videos on stream ("Becoming Minecraft's Greatest Hunter") and pointed out how in different frames different characters were closer, farther, higher or lower due to angles, in frame and out of frame- all pointing out who has the power in the conversation, who is known, who is a stranger, it's actually fascinating. NOT TO MENTION SHE MAKES HER OWN MUSIC ?????? AND IT BANGS ???????? you can find clips of her singing sometimes too and gosh she has Such a pretty voice

The progress she's made over these past few years is just, awe-inspiring. Even with the challenges she's faced she hasn't given up- in or out of character.
