What's the deal with the Egmont serie "Mickey Mystery"? Have you read it, is it good or bad?
Mickey Mystery is about Mickey running a detective a private investigation agency in Anderville after his old roommate from college fucked up big time.
It a pretty beloved series, it shows Mickey being a badass in city much more cruel than Mouseton like goddm leave this mouse alone.

but it can be a bit hard to get into a frist since all the characters are dog face humans or straight up human which is understandable a turn off for some.

Recently Alessio Coppola (best known for being the cover artist of Paperino) has shared on instagram some studies and behind the scenes of some 90s projects. Let's see what he has unveiled.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are concepts for the logo of Jungle Town, the one-shot that was eventually published in 2006, but this scrapped ideas are dated 2001. The story by Faraci and Cavazzano was supposed to be a series, but only the pilot survived. Rumors say that it was a way to redirect the resources from the deceased MMMM project.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we have some concepts starring Angus Fangus, for Pkna, dated 1997.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Originally Angus Fangus was supposed to drive an italian car.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Than some concepts from MMMM. They confirm an old rumor: Sonny Mitchell was originally supposed to be Detective Casey's brother (il fratello di Manetta). He was modeled after Walter Matthau.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally the biggest surprise of all: in 1997 there were ideas floating around about making Pk interact with human characters.

I think a real fun concept of mickey that should be explored more is how stubborn he can be
It mostly leads to him being revealed to be right at the end you know ur typical "Others feel for the tricks and empty words but our mc didn't!" Trope but I think it should be explored more in a flaw way
Make him come to a wrong conclusion then be stubborn about it and not want to let go of it I think that would be realy fun And I do mean the have him come to a wrong conclusion part, just him, no villian trying to trick him no false leads or bad timing etc Just have him be wrong and not want to let it go
I think that trait can be fun to explore especialy with detective mickey

Mad Ducktor my absolute beloved he's such a menace to society /pos
And yeah honestly Rule 66 never stops surprising me. I got into PKNA back in 2012 when PK - Il Mito came out in Italy, I remember buying each volume with my pocket money every Tuesday and I just devoured it. Fast forward to a year ago, I did a reread of the comics and I found out there's a whole community here on Tumblr, I was overjoyed!
I love fandoms so much it's insane.

Still sad we never got a glimpse of Luke's bedroom.
We never got to see his bedroom walls, which are plastered with posters that all sport similar grim faces and wild hairstyles that are 90s punk bands.
We never got to see the Disney-themed wallpaper that's hidden underneath those posters. (Look closely, and you can catch a glimpse of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy waving cheerfully - right next to Billy Joe Armstrong, who looks extra grumpy.)
We never got to see his desk and shelves that are cramped with knickknacks - guitar picks, chewed-up pencil stumps, music magazines, tapes, crumpled-up sheets of paper with discarded lines. There's also a Care Bear sitting on his nightstand. Mysteriously, there's no evidence of school books, though. There's a tiny TV with a built-in VHS recorder, a Sega Mark III, and several stacks of VHS tapes that include a surprising number of Disney animated movies. (I am convinced that 11yo Luke loved Oliver and Company when it came out in 1988. 'Why should I worry' is such a Luke song. Sue me! )
There's a papier-mache solar system he made for his elementary school's science fair (it actually earned him a ribbon), an empty hamster cage (Reggie was so jealous ... and extremely heartbroken when Kurt died), and in one corner sits Luke's very first guitar. He got it when he was 8yo because that summer, he couldn't attend summer camp because he had chickenpox.
We also never got to see that Luke's bedroom hadn't changed in the past 26 years because his parents never had the strength to clear it out. They don't want to say farewell to their son.
PS: Something changed in 2020, though. As if by magic, the Care Bear just disappeared. Weirdly, its disappearance coincided with a Molina family movie night during which they watched the first 3 Toy Story movies.)

hello. I'm new to tumblr and i want to follow epic mickey or mickey mouse blogs in general, can you maybe recommend me a couple blogs?
Hi! Sure. Well, these are some of the blogs where you will get to know more about Mickey Mouse, his family and friends who mostly appear in comics: @lordspectrus , @dalia1784 , @memelordotherblog , @okaystoptellingmetomakeanaccount , @disneyweirdness ,
@skullsemi , @felis-rach , @topidarkenblog, @frc-ambaradan ,
@mice-ducks-and-blots and others. Of course, my blog also counts, although I'm more into Donald Duck and the Duckverse, but I don't neglect the other characters with their comic book universes either.
If you want to read more Mickey Mouse comics, here you go:
I hope I helped you. If you need anything, feel free to ask. I wish you a pleasant day. :D

@1schadenfreude1 I actually recently finished reading the story that introduces the Phantom Blot!
Guys…..I get it now. That guy’s deranged and it’s great. Still not happy about pie-eyes Mickey getting shelved but what can you do…

How I hope that I will one day get to read MMMM...
Getting into Duck Comics does also make me curious about what other comics with disney characters I should check out. I heard great things about Mickey Mouse Mystery Magazine and Wizards of Mickey.

There is a real, vivid, selfish streak running through these characters, and that's very me. I love writing that into characters. Too many TV characters are just 'nice'. Make them selfish - naturally selfish, as we all are - and they sing. That leapt out at me, watching Rose again. Long before his mysterious e-mails, Mickey abandons Rose for the football down the pub. The next morning, Jackie delivers that killer line, 'There's no point in getting up.' That strand continues all the way through to Donna, who has to return to her small-town Pringles and Heat-magazine life, or the Sylvia who always said that Donna was no good at school - or Martha Jones, the only one who's ever truly selfless... and suffers for it! All of that is built into the very first script. A stifling world, demanding a Doctor to rescue you.
- Russell T Davies, The Writer's Tale.
