Phase Four: We Are Still Humanz (2013–2018)

During the attack of Plastic Beach, Murdoc escaped the island with Cyborg Noodle in a submarine. On his way home to England, Murdoc was captured by EMI, the now-defunct former publisher of Gorillaz' music. EMI had been searching the globe for Murdoc, who they threw in "Dungeon Abbey", a secret prison beneath Abbey Road Studios. Murdoc was eventually released under the condition that he was to immediately begin work on a new Gorillaz album. Murdoc agreed and moved into a new studio/home in West London.

Shortly after the attack on Plastic Beach, Noodle awoke in a small Japanese village and began working as a pearl diver under the apprenticeship of Chiyoko, the women who had nursed her back to health after finding her washed up on the Japanese shore. While working one day, Noodle accidentally released Mazuu, a shape-shifting devil that had spent over 500 years trapped in a large pearl at the bottom of the ocean. Noodle spent years chasing Mazuu, finding it in Tokyo disguised as a human, having risen the criminal underworld. Noodle infiltrated Mazuu's headquarters, decapitated Mazuu, and escaped in one piece. She packaged herself in a FedEx crate and addressed it to "West London, England, c/o Murdoc Niccals".

While escaping Plastic Beach with Noodle, Russell had gotten separated off the coast of Japan. Being mistaken for a whale (due to his unusually large size) he was harpooned but managed to escape. He lost consciousness and washed up on the shores of North Korea, where he was carried to Pyongyang and exhibited as "Pulgasari", North Korea's "Godzilla". Russell became the country's most popular attraction before shrinking back to normal size due to malnutrition, after which he was sent back to London where he moved into Murdoc's home in West London to create a new Gorillaz album.

During the attack of Plastic Beach, 2-D was swallowed whole by "Massive Dick", the whale that terrified him throughout his time spent on the island. Shortly after, Massive Dick died and washed up on the shore of a desert island. 2-D emerged from the whale's carcass and spent months surviving solely off of Massive Dick's dead body, before realizing he was actually on Guadalupe Island off the coast of Mexico. He walked thirty minutes before finding a beach resort and spent the rest of the year there on vacation before finally heading home to England where he was picked up by a driver Murdoc hired and was reunited with the band.

The band recorded throughout 2016 at Studio 13, Murdoc’s secret new studio in London, finally completing their first album in 7 years, Humanz, in 2017. Murdoc decided to release the album by throwing “the party to end all parties” in a haunted house in Detroit known as the “Spirit House”. When the band first arrived at the house in the “Saturnz Barz” music video, they were haunted by three demons. A giant one-eyed blue worm haunted Noodle, a gray multi-limbed monster haunted Russel and a pizza slice with a face haunted 2-D. In the "Strobelite" music video, Noodle and 2-D have fun dancing at the party, while Russel sleeps and Murdoc does shady business with a mysterious man at the bar.

In June 2017 a song/music video called "Sleeping Powder" was discovered in 2D's room in the Gorillaz app. Later the same day, the video was released to the public, and one week later, the song was officially released as a single on digital platforms. 2D recorded the song and music video himself as a response to fans who criticized Humanz for having too many collaborators and not enough of 2D's voice. 2D was able to record the track and video in secret due to Murdoc being placed into a week long coma.

The band went on a world tour, and even created their own festival called the Demon Dayz Festival. The first of which took place in Margate, England in June 2017. Before Gorillaz took the stage at Demon Dayz, a mysterious cult called the “Kool Klown Klan” were spotted holding bells and marching. Little is known about the cult, but they are referenced in the lyrics and imagery of the Humanz song “Momentz”.

In December 2017 the band released their own Magazine called G Magazine. The 34-page magazine features insights from the band on Humanz, editorials from each Gorillaz member, and an interview between the band, and their own co-creator Jamie Hewlett. In February 2018 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Band. While attempting to accept his award, Murdoc was arrested and taken to HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs in London for an undisclosed crime.

This is an old post but I do have a few things to add:

2-D was never rescued from the island, he just walked a little further and realized the island wasn't actually deserted, it was Guadalupe Island, Mexico.

Murdoc was chased down by EMI (their record label) and locked up in a cell underneath the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London for several years.

Noodle's time in Japan between Phases 3 and 4 was spent diving for pearls with an elderly woman named Chiyoko, where she accidentally releases a shapeshifting demon called Mazuu who she then has to hunt down.

In the simplest terms- What the hell happened in Gorillaz?

Well, here you go!

Phase 0- In two different auto accidents, Murdoc gave Stuart Pot two 8-ball fractures and dubbed him 2-D for the two dents in his head. He liked the look of it and decided to start a band, which then welcomed Paula Cracker, 2-D's girlfriend, and Russel Hobbs, a local hip hop legend that put his soul into his music ;) Well, then they moved into Kong Studios, and Russel caught Paula and Murdoc having relations in the bathroom, then broke Murdoc's nose and Paula was out of the band after that. Then, a box showed up on their door, and inside was a small child, who started shredding her guitar and only said "Noodle". This became her name and she was accepted into the band.

Phase 1- Nothing terribly important happened, it was a very lighthearted phase. At some point during it they all went to Japan, 2-D went back home to work his parents fairgrounds, and Murdoc got arrested in Mexico for giving invalid checks to a prostitute. At some point Noodle was alone in Japan and unlocked her memories, and with it the ability to speak and understand every language.

Phase 2- They were mostly mucking around here, but the biggest thing to happen was definitely the El Mañana incident. See, there was this guy, Jimmy Manson, who wanted to be in the band, but Murdoc did not want him to be because he was a hippie. Jimmy would not stop harassing Murdoc and so Murdoc hatched a plan. He would hole Jimmy up with ammunition and tell him to kill Noodle during the filming of El Mañana, but really, he planned to kill Jimmy himself by catching the windmill on fire with him inside. This went terribly wrong and Noodle was lost to the blaze.

Phase 3- This is by far the most lore heavy so to avoid confusion I will just say, Murdoc burned down Kong and used the insurance money to buy a garbage island at Point Nemo, the furthest point from any existing landmass. The band was separated at this point, with Russel taking a break to work through his demons, literally, by making his own album, before he decided to attempt to end his own life by jumping into the ocean. This just made him ingest ocean garbage which made him a giant. The Boogieman helped Murdoc kidnap 2-D back onto the island, then they turned against each other and the rest of the phase the Boogieman is chasing after Murdoc to drag him to Hell. Also- Using DNA from the accident, Murdoc constructed a robot named Cyborg Noodle to replace the dead bandmate- but during On Melancholy Hill it was revealed that Noodle has been alive (she's been demon hunting this whole time) So! Murdoc is hiding on the island with 2-D in the basement, trying to avoid everyone he's ticked off. Anyway, Rhinestone Eyes is where it hits the fan and the Pirates, the Black Cloud, and The Boogieman all attack the island. Murdoc makes an escape. 2-D is eated by a whale.

Phase 4- Russel was imprisoned and used as an attraction by North Korea before he starved enough to shrink to normal size and was free to leave. Noodle spent more time doing things in Japan. 2-D was eaten by the whale that guarded him at Point Nemo, then was left stranded on an island and forced to eat whale until he was rescued. Murdoc might've been hiding in a submarine this whole time with Cyborg Noodle, it's unclear. Well, then they just sort of decided they wanted to be a band again and reunited to make a new album.

Phase 5- Murdoc went to jail, he was framed for smuggling, and Ace took his place. This phase was largely focused on 2-D dealing with his trauma and the #FreeMurdoc campaign.

Phase 6- Not much! They moved in to Studio 13. Murdoc is chilling out.

Phase 7- We don't quite know yet! They have moved into a new home above a Silver Lake with strange neighbours and that's about all we know. Besides the fact that Murdoc started a cult

post el manana/plastic beach headcanons that nobody asked for (sponsored by not understanding the timeline in the slightest)

 When Noodle returns from the El Manana Incident, the second she sees the band she collapses. She shipped herself in Fed-ex, and when she did she was already skinny and exhausted from so many months on the run, fighting and alone after she and Russel got separated. Her eye wound, which was reopened by Mazuu, is still healing and blurry, but she brings rations and water and a book with her for the trip.

But the whole fiasco happens with the passport, and it takes eight days for Noodle to be delivered, and she only packed food for three. When the boys finally get the box and pry it open, Noodle stands, says, “surprise,” and then collapses over the edge, taking the box with her.

She’s nineteen years old, 4’10”, and 85 pounds. She’s tiny, from her first years growing up in a lab and her recent years spent malnourished and overworked. She’s half starved from the almost week without food (thankfully she had brought enough water for many more days, because she’s not an idiot) and exhausted, and her eye wound, which had previously been nearly healed before defeating Mazuu, was now infected and her eyelid was nearly swollen almost shut.

 2-D was too surprised to speak, and Murdoc was shocked and filled with guilt at seeing her like this, so Russel was the first to act. He picked her up and instantly took her into the kitchen to clean her wounds -- her eye and her many splinters and cuts -- before rousing her enough to get her to drink some water and eat a yogurt cup. She had a really high fever and her eyes didn’t really seem like she was seeing anything that day; she wouldn’t make words and couldn’t walk very far on her own. It was over exhaustion, lack of eating, and infection that had seeped into her body from months not taking care of herself in pursuit of killing something evil followed by a week in a dusty fed-ex box without any sunlight.

 After getting Noodle settled and asleep in a room they always hoped would be hers, Russel went into the kitchen like a man on a mission and began throwing stuff out

When murdoc asked what he was doing, he said they had a little girl to take care of again, and they couldn’t get her well if they were drinking and eating spoiled ready-to-eat meals. He left only a few yogurt cups, an unopened carton of ham, and a package of wine coolers.

The alcohol was really first to go, much to murdocs anger, bc some of that was expensive

they got him to keep the wine coolers bc really there wasn’t even much alcohol in them and c’mon russ you just threw out my fancy burboun that cost 60 bucks, at least leave something --

And then russel sent 2-D and Murdoc shopping, with stuff on the list like “apples” and “orange juice” and “ramen” and something called “spinach”

 He stayed home while they went to walmart and sat in Noodle’s room with her, holding her burning hot hand while she slept and kissing it every once a while and definitely NOT crying

Noodle slept for a really long time after that, and when she woke up again the next day at nine PM with a wet rag on her forehead and chills wracking her body she was STARVING, but too weak to do anything. Russel was in the room with her -- he hadn’t left at all since she came home -- and when she woke up she said, “hurts, hurts,” and eventually was able to get her foggy mind to remember the words to ask for something to eat.

She had a pretty high fever, was clammy, and was having some breathing issues, and so Russel thought he should bring a sick day food -- something easy on the tummy. He brought her Ramen Noodles with some grilled chicken for protein and helped her sit up enough to eat them, and she ate like if she didn’t finish it fast enough she wouldn’t get another chance to eat for another week before falling asleep again

And then about ten minutes later she woke up and threw up all over herself and the bed

Russel cleaned it up and noodle cried really soft and babyish bc wow what a way to start the day

 After noodle stopped throwing up after almost everything she ate and was holding her head up better, 2-D started coming in every once and a while.

Lots of times he’d just show her memes on his phone or bring a book to read to her

 (she was way too old for that, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t like it)

Noodle still slept most of the day, and still had to have help when she needed to get up to go to the bathroom, but she seemed to be recovering very very slowly.

About day four, she got up in the middle of the night having to pee really really bad, and dragged herself out of bed all by herself because Russ was asleep and she felt like a burden for being out of commission for so long. She fell on the way to the bathroom, but got the job done

On the way back to her room (was walking always this exhausting?) murdoc, who was in the middle of getting drunk on wine coolers in the living room while watching reruns of friends, thought she was 2-D and yelled at her to shut off the light along with some crude words and insults

He noticed it was her, and asked her why she was up. Her voice was croaky and painful when she responded.

“had to piss”

“do noT USE THAT LANGUAGE GO TO BED”

Murdoc is struggling a lot, because he feels so guilty about having caused her to be so damaged, physically and mentally. He’s feeling suicidal, because the only thing he lived for -- his little girl -- deserves to have him out of her life for good. She deserves so much better than him.

He closes his eyes, but after a few minutes he feels hands padding across his lap and then knees, and when he opens his eyes Noodle is curled up in his lap, her fevery skin burning his bare thighs and her body shaking with silent sobs

normally he’d react angrily, but he’s kinda drunk so he kinda pats her back and after a few minutes, shes stopped shaking so much and he thinks she’s asleep

Its quiet, and dark other than the TV illuminating everything in a soft blue glow, and when Noodle speaks, her voice is broken and soft.

“papa..”

 And that gets him, and Murdoc tears up and starts petting his daughter’s hair. He doesnt deserve her, and she doesnt deserve this. He’ll make sure he’s gone soon. For her. But right now, he’ll try and be the comfort she needs.

“I know, love, I know it hurts…”

“I -- I’m not ready to be like this.” She whispers back, and Murdoc is pretty sure she won’t remember this in the morning because her skin is crazy hot and her eyes are foggy with sickness

 “Like what, sweet?” His voice is gravelly and old, but to Noodle, his voice is Home.

“Grown.” She squeaks, her breath labored. “I.. I missed you papa. I’m.. I’m not ready to be a grown up.”

 Murdoc sucks in a breath and keeps petting her head. “I missed you too, my dear,”

“I can’t.. it hurts, Murdoc. I never got to grow up. Just one day.. One day I was hunting a demon and being shot at and taking care of myself -- “ A sob broke her off. “I want to be a kid again, riding on Toochie’e shoulders and being held and coddled. Papa, I can’t do this,”

 “Shh, shh love, you don’t have to be grown any more. We have you now. You can be a kid again.”

And then she’s asleep, and murdoc is cursing because his cheeks are wet with tears

She really acts like she needs him, and maybe she does

 Murdoc resolves to get better. To be better for her. To let her be a kid and let her rely on him.

He throws out the wine coolers and brings her honey nut cheerios and a stuffed bunny in the morning

(and punches russel for making that smug “aww” face at him)

That whole event could’ve been something massive for the Gorillaz lore... but it was never taken seriously? We all brushed it off.

And then it hit us

Could El Mierda and Mazuu be linked... or even the same person?

Think about it. It’s a stretched theory, yes, but look at the relation between them...

El Mierda is part of the criminal underworld

Mazuu is part of the criminal underworld

Both have otherworldly abilities, such as the possible use of possession.

Both of their names start with “M”

And think about El Mierda for a moment - WHAT HUMAN HAS THE ABILITY TO REMOVE A SOUL FROM A BODY???

NONE OF THEM DO.

A HUMAN CAN’T EXTRACT A SOUL FROM ANOTHER’S BODY!!!!

But you know what can do that as well as possess the host?

A DEMON CAN!!!!!

And just because Noodle killed his PHYSICAL form, doesn’t mean his SPIRITUAL FORM CEASES TO BE!!!

MAZUU COULD’VE EASILY HAD FOLLOWED NOODLE BACK TO THE REST OF THE BAND!!!

i kno u haven’t talked abt lesbian noodle in a Hot Minute but i just wanted to talk abt the oc i made her names vanessa and she’s noodles girlfriend and she was a demon hunter in the family business but then she got turned into a vampire so she’s Independent now and she helped noodle killed mazuu, dated, then they broke up all before phase 4 and they go through a bubbline-esque sorta arc which ends in them getting back together and! sorry i just love lesbian noodle so much,, aaaa,,

(1/?) Yo my friend had an au idea and I thought you'd probably enjoy it. So I was explaining The Book of Noodle to her and how Noods washed up on Japanese shores into a fishing village and then accidentally released the evil, shape-shifting demon Mazuu on Japan and how she had to hunt him down for 2 years or so until she found him in Tokyo and killed him. Mazuu had created his own kind of evil mafia thing and Noodle had to disguise herself to get in and all that jazz, but when she did kill him,

“(2/?) it states that she released him from his human host and he fled the earth. My friend had the idea of an au based on the idea that instead of fleeing back to hell, he possessed Noodle instead to continue his work, so she gained the ability to shape shift and would occasionally have glitches, switching between herself and Mazuu. She’s fully aware of all of her actions but sometimes he’s trying to control them and everytime she thinks about it tries to leave, he won’t let her.”

“(3/3) Due to this, that means she never returns to the band for a second time, so, panicking, Muds, Russ, and 2 head out to try to find her but everything kind of goes wrong when they make OT to Japan because she knows they’re there and Mazuu knows she loves them so he just makes everyone’s life a living hell. That’s pretty much it for now and I’ll send more if you’re interested in hearing more/when we develop more :U I just thought you’d enjoy hearing about it c:”

Height 5’ 2" (1.57m) Years Active: 1998-2006, 2010-present Age: 26 (as of 2016) Noodle is the official lead guitarist of Gorillaz. Since the events of the El Mañana Incident, she had disappeared for approximately four years. During her absence, her position as the band’s guitarist was substituted by Cyborg Noodle, made by Murdoc from Noodle’s DNA to replace her in the Gorillaz.

Background

Noodle was born in Osaka, Japan on October 31, 1990.

Noodle spent a portion of her childhood in Japan as a subject of a classified Japanese super soldier project under the management of the Japanese scientist, Mr. Kyuzo.

Noodle, along with 22 other children, were trained with the sole purpose of fighting as soldiers of the Japanese military and government. After the children were deemed too dangerous and unstable for combat, the project was scrapped. Mr. Kyuzo was then ordered to dispose of all possible traces of the failed experiment, as well as its participants.

After killing the other 22 children, Kyuzo was reluctant in killing Noodle. Rather than killing her, Kyuzo placed her in a state of amnesia through use of verbal commands. The phrase used to place Noodle in her state of amnesia was known as Ocean Bacon. After temporarily clearing her memory of the project, Kyuzo smuggled Noodle to the United Kingdom in a FedEx crate and falsely reported her death (along with the other 22 children) to his superiors.

Noodle arrived at the doorstep of Kong Studios in 1998. Once the crate was taken inside, Noodle sprung out of the box and performed a guitar solo (which 2-D described as “200 demons screaming in Arabic. Brilliant!”). She ended her solo with a 20 foot high karate kick before bowing and saying the word “Noodle”. This resulted with her earning the name “Noodle” (her only currently known name), and replacing Paula Cracker as the band’s lead guitarist.

Gorillaz Phase 1: 2000-2001

Noodle at the age of 10. Noodle was about ten in this phase. She mainly played guitar, but also provided vocals for the Gorillaz, most notably the track “19-2000”. In numerous videos, idents and music videos alike, it became obvious that Noodle was talented at much more than just music. She is also proficient at martial arts. During this phase, she couldn’t speak English, except for a few phrases like “yeah” and “duh”. Post-Phase 1 to Pre-Phase 2: 2002-2004

After the band’s abrupt breakup, Noodle traveled back to Japan by herself to learn about her forgotten past. During her stay, she visited a sushi bar in Osaka where she heard a waiter tell the bar’s chef that he needed an order of “Ocean Bacon”. Upon hearing the phrase, Noodle simultaneously regained all memories of her previously concealed past (which included her ability to speak fluent English as well as every other known foreign language). After her sudden revelation, she returned to Kong Studios, which had fell into a state of disrepair during the bands’ absence. She also discovered that the studio had become infested with hordes of undead zombies. Using Kong’s security surveillance room as a “safe house”, Noodle slowly cleansed the complex of its unwanted inhabitants. During her stay at Kong Studios, Noodle laid out the concept plans for the 2005 album, Demon Days. After completely ridding the building of the zombies, Noodle embarked on a mission to reunite with her band mates.

Gorillaz Phase 2: 2004-2008

Noodle in her bunk at a capsule hotel during her stay in Japan. This phase featured the album Demon Days, written by Noodle herself (now fifteen), which contained the song “DARE”, the first song featuring Noodle doing almost everything, including instrumentals and singing.

At the end of this phase, Noodle was considering leaving the band for a while, so she planned to leave after filming the final music video, “El Mañana”. During the filming of the video, Noodle parachuted off the floating island from the “Feel Good Inc.” video after it was gunned down by two armoured helicopters. When filming was complete, Noodle had disappeared; causing panic across the set and everyone on it, except for Murdoc. Her used parachute was found amongst the wreckage of the crash site. This caused many to believe for a while that Noodle had been killed off. These rumors of Noodle’s supposed death were finally laid to rest, as Murdoc assured everyone that she survived, and they had staged the crash to get rid of Jimmy Manson, who had hid away in the windmill, thinking he was part of a plot to get rid of Noodle and take her place with the parachute. Murdoc claimed, in the Gorillaz book Rise of the Ogre, that Noodle was “off in the Maldives, just chilling out”. However, in the epilogue of the book, a transcript of a radio broadcast from Noodle is printed out.

Another similar radio broadcast could be heard in the basement of Kong Studios on the official Gorillaz website.

Murdoc later “confessed” that Noodle was stuck in hell, but he had allegedly saved her. He was drunk at the time, so it is unknown if what he said was true or not.

Gorillaz Phase 3: 2010-2012

Noodle as she appears in Phase 3. Four years after her disappearance, Noodle embarked on her journey to reunite with her former band mates. She was formally seen last in the On Melancholy Hill video, sporting a cat mask on board a cruise liner known as the M. Harriet. During the voyage, a crew member notified her that the ship was being attacked by pirates and that he was sent to escort her to the ship’s lifeboats. Without speaking, Noodle opened her luggage and armed herself with a Thompson submachine gun. It is assumed that she is seeking revenge for being marked dead by Murdoc. After shooting down one of the two pirate fighter planes, Noodle was forced to abandon the M. Harriet which was sunk by a dive bomb torpedo released by the second plane. She is later seen in a life boat being lifted out of the water atop Russel Hobbs’ head, who is currently in a noticeably larger physical state than usual. [1]In the canceled Rhinestone Eyes video, she and Russel make it to Plastic Beach. Later on, after the Black Clouds destroy Plastic Beach, Cyborg Noodle malfunctions and attempts to kill Murdoc, but is destroyed by Noodle. She and Russel rescued 2-D after he got swallowed by the whale and the three of them began to track Murdoc after he faked getting killed by the Black Clouds and escaped to Hawaii where he began his radio shows celebrating Gorillaz’ Ten Year anniversary. It turns out “Hawaii” was just a ransacked house in London, and the room he was in had a Hawaii theme to it complete with sound effects. It is unknown what happened to Murdoc when they found him.

Noodle later makes a brief appearance in the music video, “DoYaThing”, as 2-D looks into her room. Most of her facial injuries seemed to have healed since the events of Plastic Beach. However, the house they are staying in (212 Wobble Street) is suffering foreclosure; what happens next is uncertain.

Gorillaz Phase 4: 2016-

Days after the attack on Plastic Beach, Noodle awoke in a strange Japanese fishing village. She was nursed back to health by an old pearl diver named Chiyoko, so Noodle took a job as her apprentice to repay her kindness.

Gorillaz - The Book of Noodle (Full) One day, deep beneath the waves, she opened a unnaturally big pearl shell, and accidentally released an ancient demon from hell. Noodle learned this was Mazuu, a shape-shifting devil that could take human form. The only way to destroy it was to remove its head from its body. And so, for years, Noodle pursued Mazuu across Japan. Finally, she had tracked it down to Tokyo, where it had risen to the top of the criminal underworld.

Disguised as a geisha, she infiltrated their headquarters, The Demon’s Lounge. While Mazuu was distracted, she chopped off its head. Its earthly existence was over.

Escaping Mazuu’s sumo bodyguards, she packed herself into a box with dried fish, bottled water, and a copy of Moby Dick. Her package was addressed:

Jedha Evans is my original character from Gorillaz

He is currently 19 years old and is Noodle's assistant and disciple. They met in their stay in Japan on the fishing island, since Chiyoko is friends with Jedha - something like her legal guardian - and was accompanying her to assassinate the demon Mazuu.

After what happened Jedha personally sent Noodle to London in a box of Feedex, but he had to leave by plane because it is too big to fit in a box.

Okay because I've seen this three, four times now, I'm gonna use this opportunity to clear some stuff up.

Phase 4 was incredibly confusing but here's a quick overview of what the hell happened after Plastic Beach:

•The attack on Plastic Beach resulted in Gorillaz being split up again, moments after they had been reunited. Murdoc took refuge in a tiny submarine with Cyborg Noodle as his pilot. One Day, he was out to take a piss and recognised the EMIs ship, the battleship ringo, coming to take Murdoc to prison. Here, he stayed for three years until he was released under the pretense of making a new album with Gorillaz to “cancel out all the terrible artists in the music industry" thus, Humanz was born

•2-D was still inside the giant whale, managing to kill him after a while and washing up on an island. He had to resort to eating whale blubber to survive, until he realised he had washed up in Guadalupe. He thought this to be the perfect time to take a gap year, befriending locals and selling friendship bracelets. When he was eventually fired from his job, he took a plane back to London, greeted by Murdoc on the airport and a sign that said “Wanker”

•Giant Russel, being unconscious after the attacks, drifted to North Korean shore, where he was held captive in Pyongyang. The food rations there caused him to shrink again, which led him to having no use anymore and being send back to England. Shortly after, Murdoc called, informing Russel they were bringing the band back together

•As for Human Noodle, she washed up on the shore of her home country, Japan, working for a pearl diver that had nursed her back to health. One Day while diving, Noodle accidentally released a shape shifting demon called Mazuu, and was set up to stop it in whatever way she could. She followed it all the way to Tokyo, eventually disguising herself as a Geisha and decaptitating it, before crawling into a FedEx crate and coming back to Murdoc (history repeats itself)

•For the first time in roughly a decade, Gorillaz were together as a band again. Cyborg Noodle was promptly decapitated and turned into a decorative plant pot. They also found a new HQ in Detroit, simply called Spirit House. With their instruments ready, they embarked on a journey with new interviews and a new tour. Little side fact, Noodle got her pet cat, Katsu, during the tour and Murdoc discovered a liking for BDSM (have fun with that image)

•One day during the strobelite music video shoot, a criminal boss called El Mierda was taking a picture with Murdoc, pretending to be the bands biggest fan. While Murdoc was distracted, the gangster framed him for cocaine smuggle and managed to get him thrown into prison. With Murdoc gone, the band had to take a new direction.
