ice ghoul headcanons
general things
the females are more hostile and dangerous, however if there is a pregnant female(s) in the pack and she is close to her due date, everyone in the pack will protect her more than anyone else.
they have gills. as I said in pt 1 of my ice ghoul thoughts, their primary habitats are freezing places surrounded by a good amount of water but also trees. so the nordic/slavic wilderness is ideal for them.
they eat fish, berries, anything they can get their shiny claws on that is edible and healthy.
sometimes, depending on if they live anywhere near a small human settlement, the humans will leave them small meals as a way to thank them for warding off any evil spirits.
behaviours
something I forgot to mention in pt 1 is that they also reside in Iceland. so whenever people leave their babies outside for naps in their strollers (it's a completely normal thing to do) the ghouls will sometimes keep an eye out for any dangers. even if it barely ever happens, they want to protect new life.
a weird thing they do is they will find a large, snowy expanse of land, usually an icy valley between snow-capped mountains and just '🧍‍♀️'. it's relaxing, and it allows them to listen in for anything unusual that may pose as a threat.
they sing. folk songs, eerie melodies, imitations of what the ice sounds like in the dead of night.
the males and females hang out in groups. it's not segregation, it's just an unconscious thing they do. kinda like a bachelorette party except nobodies getting married.
mating
we all know what other ghouls do. fire ghouls engrave little patterns that remind them of their mate-to-be on small tree stumps, air ghouls serenade the one they want to be with, earth ghouls give their mate-to-be a bouquet of flowers that remind them of their mate, water ghouls find the most beautiful gem/rock in the water and gift it to their mate, and quints and multis participate it whichever one resonates with them the most.
but ice ghouls do something that is similar to air and water ghouls. either giving their mate a handful of crystals and pretty rocks from the water, or a full blown ice sculpture.
if a ghoul chooses to make an ice sculpture, it won't be a majestic and godlike one, it'll probably just be a small ornamental ice sculpture finished off with permafrost so it won't melt for a long time.
misc.
sometimes, in the winter, the ice ghouls living in the Swedish wilderness will migrate down to where the ministry is located and make a small, temporary move there just to be with their own kind of different elements. even if the ministry ghouls have absolutely no idea.
younger ice ghoulettes will behave like typical teenage girls, all giggly and sassy. but they can switch up from bubbly and energetic to eerie and haunting a little too fast for comfort.
older ice ghouls, say around omega's age, will be intensely protective over their mate if they have one, and will lay in a soft snow bed while massaging their eepy mate.
safe to say, the young ice ghoulettes are the most intriguing and dangerous of the ice element while the older males are way more fiercely protective and ferocious.

Scandinavian Wildlife Expedition: Exploring Sweden and Finland's Natural Wonders
Tumblr media
Our journey from Dhaka, Bangladesh, to the breathtaking wilderness of Sweden and Finland was a dream come true for nature enthusiasts like us. The thrill of encountering Nordic wildlife in their natural habitats, coupled with the serene beauty of Scandinavian landscapes, made this expedition truly unforgettable. Planning such an adventure required careful preparation, and Bangladeshi travel agencies like Roomchai Limited, Gozayaan, ShareTrip, and Obokash played a crucial role in making it seamless.
Starting in Stockholm: Gateway to the Wilderness
Our adventure began in Stockholm, a city that beautifully blends modernity with nature. After a few days of exploring its historic sites and vibrant culture, we set our sights on the wilderness of Swedish Lapland. The transition from the urban charm of Stockholm to the untouched beauty of Lapland was nothing short of magical.
The Wild Heart of Swedish Lapland
Swedish Lapland is a realm of endless forests, clear lakes, and majestic mountains. We embarked on guided tours that led us deep into this wilderness, where we had the privilege of observing reindeer herds and tracking moose. One of the most exhilarating moments was catching sight of a lynx, a rare and elusive predator that epitomizes the untamed spirit of Lapland.
Our stay included an unforgettable visit to a Sami village. The Sami people, with their rich cultural heritage and deep connection to the land, welcomed us warmly. We participated in reindeer sledding, listened to traditional joik songs, and shared stories around a fire beneath the aurora borealis, which painted the night sky with its ethereal glow.
Finnish Lapland: A Continuation of Wilderness and Wonder
Our expedition continued as we crossed into Finnish Lapland. Here, the landscapes were equally stunning, and the opportunities for wildlife observation were abundant. Finnish Lapland is known for its bear watching tours, and we were fortunate to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural environment.
A highlight of our Finnish adventure was exploring Oulanka National Park. This park is a paradise for nature lovers, with its diverse flora and fauna, picturesque rapids, and tranquil forests. We hiked through its scenic trails, encountering bird species like the Siberian jay and marveling at the park’s natural beauty.
Choosing the Right Travel Partner
Organizing such an extensive and detailed safari required the expertise of reliable travel agencies. We found Roomchai Limited to be exceptionally well-suited for our needs. Their personalized approach, from handling visa applications to crafting a detailed itinerary, made our journey smooth and stress-free. Gozayaan, ShareTrip, and Obokash also offered valuable services and packages, but Roomchai’s attention to detail and customer service stood out.
Reflections on Our Journey
Looking back, our Scandinavian wildlife expedition was more than just a travel experience—it was a journey of discovery and connection. The landscapes of Sweden and Finland, with their pristine beauty and rich biodiversity, provided us with countless moments of awe and inspiration.
For travelers from Bangladesh considering a similar adventure, we wholeheartedly recommend exploring the wilds of Sweden and Finland. The support of Roomchai Limited, Gozayaan, ShareTrip, and Obokash will ensure that your journey is as seamless and enjoyable as ours was.
This expedition has reinforced our passion for travel and nature, and we eagerly anticipate our next adventure, wherever it may lead. Until then, we cherish the memories and lessons from our time in the Scandinavian wilderness.

Discover Turku: Finland’s Hidden Nordic Gem
By Gemma Zoë Price
Nestled along the banks of the River Aura, Turku—Finland’s oldest city and first capital—often flies under the radar compared to popular Nordic destinations like Stockholm and Copenhagen. Founded in 1229, this charming city of 200,000 on the southwest coast serves as the gateway to the world’s largest archipelago, boasting over 40,000 islands.
Tumblr media
Locally known as Åbo, Turku has a rich history, transitioning from a Swedish stronghold in the Middle Ages to an autonomous Grand Duchy under the Russian Empire in 1809. Since Finland’s independence in 1917, it has established itself as a vibrant cultural hub, sometimes affectionately referred to as "the Paris of Finland" for its flourishing food and café scene.
A Walkable City with a Cozy Atmosphere
Turku’s compact city center features tree-lined boulevards dotted with 19th-century theatres, coffee shops, and market halls, many with a focus on sustainability. Shoppers can explore unique finds, from vintage vinyl at the three-story 8raita Record Store to vintage kimonos and artisanal crafts at Boutique Minne. For book lovers, the nonprofit Turku Kirjakahvila offers an array of literature and delicious vegan pastries.
While the Great Fire of 1827 destroyed 70% of Turku’s buildings, history comes alive at the Museum of Archaeology and Contemporary Art, showcasing the remnants of the medieval quarter, Aboa Vetus. Above ground, the majestic Turku Castle, constructed in the 13th century, stands sentinel over the river and now functions as a museum.
Culinary Delights and Local Libations
The food scene in Turku has gained international acclaim, particularly after the tasting-menu restaurant Kaskis earned the city its first Michelin star in 2022. The restaurant’s founders, Simo Raisio and Erik Mansikka, focus on local ingredients, crafting dishes that reflect the region’s bounty. Chef Mansikka has become a symbol of Turku’s culinary aspirations, recognized not just for his talent but also for his vibrant personality.
Local markets, like the bustling Turku Market Hall, provide a sensory overload with fresh produce, meats, and fish. Here, chef-fishmonger Johan Hellsten serves delectable creations that spotlight seasonal flavors. Don’t miss the chance to sample locally caught rainbow trout or indulge in a reindeer dish prepared two ways.
In terms of beverages, Finland's wine culture is evolving, thanks to local entrepreneurs experimenting with ingredients like lingonberries and cloudberries. Urban winery Noita is gaining attention for its natural wines, crafted from organic grapes sourced from Austria.
Explore the Archipelago
Turku serves as the perfect launching pad for exploring the surrounding archipelago. Accessible via ferry and boasting a network of electric ferries, the region invites visitors to choose their own adventure among its many islands. Nearby Ruissalo, a former hunting ground for the castle’s court, is perfect for a relaxing spa day followed by sauna sessions.
The archipelago comes alive in summer, attracting 1.5 million visitors to Åland, a group of over 6,500 islands known for their stunning natural beauty and rich history. The annual Harvest Festival in September showcases local farms and artisanal products, making it a culinary delight for visitors.
Year-Round Attractions
Thanks to Finland’s "Everyman’s Right" law, visitors can camp almost anywhere, allowing for a deeper connection to nature. The archipelago's winter activities, like cross-country skiing and ice fishing, offer a different but equally enchanting experience.
In spring and summer, the Archipelago Trail—a scenic 250km ring road—invites exploration between the islands. On a recent trip, I discovered Hotel Hyppeis on Houtskär island, a renovated schoolhouse offering cozy accommodations and multi-course dinners highlighting local ingredients.
Turku, with its blend of history, vibrant culture, and stunning natural surroundings, is a hidden treasure in the Nordic landscape. It’s a destination that promises memorable experiences, whether through its culinary innovations, historical landmarks, or breathtaking archipelago adventures.
