MY GUARDIANS!! MY BELOVEDS!!! I don't repeat classes often - I only have two mesmers and two guards, but that's bc the additional mesmer and guard are ported from other games so the classes were the best fit for them. That being said, let's get into my guardian children <3

nika is also my ported wol and his canon jobs (drk, mch and brd) are my best attempt at recreating guardian in that game :)

7. what are the convictions that keep their guardian magic burning?

nyra: her selfishly selfless goals and dreams; her belief in herself and her own abilities and her god-complex. she is an inverse paladin that way; instead of serving a greater being or a deity or a goal, she serves herself and her ambition with the same zeal.

nika: i'm not quite sure if he has magic in the same way nyra does (she is a caster, too) or if he just has enough to detect that there is magic and not really cast any of his own. but speaking of him in general, he has little to no general convictions. yet he is also ambitious and wants to be known in the world, primarily for his music. that's what he's protective of. that's as close as he gets to having any convictions.

8. do they focus more on healing and protecting their allies or on incinerating their enemies before they can do harm?

nyra: she isn't much of a healer, even if she can use some healing magic, but she is on the front lines and makes sure to take hits for her allies. she loves a good thrill of battle, she is in charge, she likes showing off; even if i play her mechanically as a tanky dps, in my heart of hearts she is the tankiest of tanks + dps.

nika: oh he goes for the kill! he uses guns and longbows, so he likes taking his enemies out long before they can even approach him, but he isn't afraid of cleaving them in half either. it's just that he prefers ranged combat. he also fits the mold for deadeye as well in this regard.

9. how much do they rely on their magic in combat? could they still be effective if they were stripped of their guardian powers?

nyra: gahh i love this question bc it's my hc that over reliance on magic is 100% a mistake that a guardian can make. nyra's case is pretty interesting here; she didn't have magic until she was 15, and during personal story she was learning how to manipulate and shape light so she used more of her raw, physical strength. following heart of thorns, where mordremoth slashed her shoulder really badly (so bad that it was barely saved) she swung in the other direction and used magic a lot more bc she couldn't be as effective with raw physicality as before.

now she has a canthan-made aid for her shoulder, like a compression sleeve with jade tech beneath her armor, that allows her to use her shoulder to its old extent as long as she's wearing it (she's not wearing it outside of combat, though.) that allows her to find a balance that she wasn't able to before, and while she is a talented magic user, taking that away wouldn't take much from her efficiency on the battlefield, as long as she has her jade tech aid.

nika: he relies very little on magic as he doesn't have much of it, and is so much more efficient without it.

10. What’s their fighting style like? (ranged, defensive, aggressive, etc)

nyra: as per previous answer, she went from melee to ranged to a mixture of melee and ranged. these days she likes to be up close and personal again, same way she used to be ten years ago, but she isn't as aggressive about it as she was back then. instead, she is defensive, with more strategic attacks that take her enemies out faster, as opposed to just going for aggression for its own sake.

3. What was their initial impression of the four claimants? How did this change over the course of the story?

wuk lamat: cori thought she was very sweet, and appreciated that she could find the bright side or the fun in everything they did, but they also thought she was a bit misguided and naive. they weren't particularly interested in helping her at the start, but after meeting the others it was clear that wuk lamat was something of the best option. but after everything, cori is really proud of the way wuk lamat has grown into a good leader, and they were really proud watching her interact with the people she leads and learn about what they need. i think they're pretty good friends now--i wouldn't say family quite yet, but they care a lot about each other.

koana: i think cori was excited to meet another mch outside of ishgard at first, but was wary of all the changes he wanted to bring to Tural without any kind of consideration for the wants/needs of the people there. and their excitement was quickly tempered by the way he seemed a bit closed off at the start. as he let his guard down and cori saw how much he really cared about his sister and the people of Tural, he started to grow on them.

bakool ja ja: they thought he was a bully who had to be stopped, and then they thought he was worse than a bully but genuinely terrible for letting valigarmanda loose. they didn't forgive him immediately upon learning of his situation, although they understood his reasoning, but he proved himself by helping out in the later attack on Tulliyolal, so cori isn't holding his previous actions against him. but he owes them tacos.

zoraal ja: based on krile's bad vibes vision, cori knew that he was a terrible choice to lead, and it was only made worse by hearing him speak of the plan himself. this is the main reason she decided to help wuk lamat, because he couldn't be allowed to put his plan into action (cori wondered why he was even allowed to compete! since he made no secret of his plans!). her opinion of him didn't get any better as things went on, though she did feel a little bad for him in the end.

18. What important relationships changed or developed throughout Dawntrail?

aside from now considering wuk lamat and koana friends, cori and erenville are a lot closer! they already had bonded some, since cori spent a lot of time in labyrinthos while she was in old sharlayan. but the trip to shaaloani really solidified their friendship, and they were able to bond about leaving home (and talk about how the circumstances of this, including their mothers' involvement, were very opposite!). cori is excited to hopefully learn more about from and see more of shaloani with him soon!

19. What was their favorite location in Tural?

tbh i think cori loved Tuliyollal the best! They really love a port city, even with all the people there, but there was just so much to see and do. and the food is really good! outside of the city though, i think they liked xak tural best--near the water on one side, the blue forest on the other, just very pretty and feeling like two different sides of the homes she's come from!

22. What are they doing now?

Cori did not hang around long in Tuliyollal after arriving back, despite how much they like it there! They're helping Y'shtola in her preparations for studying the gateway, and in their downtime they've taken to completing gathering requests for people who need things but aren't equipped (or don't want to lol) to go out and do it themself. It's a nice, lower pressure way for them to get to see all of Tural, and still gives them a reason to come back to Tuliyollal to pick up more! I also think this is when they help Shunye and Uvlo out as well

FFXIVWrite Day 16 - Jerk

Altais is very self aware that she is in fact, a jerk, lol. Yet somehow she still makes friends. This takes place at some point during Heavensward, as Altais spent that expac learning mch.

Ishgard’s ever freezing climate was not pleasant to an Au Ra. Altais’s scales frequently felt like ice against her skin.

It had originally been the simple warmth emitting from the manufactory that had driven her to see what Stephanivien had wanted. And maybe one could argue that had brought her back the next couple of times. But as Solar’s time in Ishgard went on, she found herself enjoying the work there. Designing and building weapons was a way to grow stronger, and she had a good mind for the magitek engineering involved.

Stephanivien was also the only Ishgardian who acted so friendly towards her. Sure, there were a couple of people who acted friends towards the Scions and Solar as a whole, but Altais had always felt those people tolerated her at best. She was not a kind person, and had never learned a lot of social niceties. She usually came across as blunt and rude, whether it was intentional or not. Combine that with a general mistrust of people, and you had a woman who was very difficult to befriend. Most people backed off fairly quickly. Ishgardians in particular with their general dislike of anything scaled.

So Altais didn’t quite get why she was wanted in the manufactory. She knew Stephanivien wasn’t like the typical Ishgardian noble in regards to origin, he would recruit anyone willing to spend time there. But how had she not scared him off with her demeanor like most others? He didn’t even avoid her while she worked, he would often stop to ask how it was going, or work on his own project nearby to make small talk. Altais could understand her talent being wanted, she had picked up on the craft faster than anyone else, but why did he value her company?

One day, tinkering with her newest weapon, she decided to ask.

“Why do you like being around me anyway?”

“Why would you ask such a thing? Do you have reason to doubt my intentions?” Stephanivien questioned curiously, stopping what he was working on to give her his full attention.

“I doubt everyone’s intentions to a degree, but you’re not exceptional there. Most people don’t like my company though. I’m not exactly friendly. Some people have told me I’m outright mean. Not that it matters to me, I am what I am, but you’ve been the odd exception in this city. Solar likes me, but what we have is something… different” Altais shrugged.

Solar was the group of people she constantly faced life and death consequences with. They knew she could fight alongside them and had seen that she would. That wasn’t an experience anyone else shared with her. It was hard to put into words exactly what, but that had built a special sort of bond between them. One even Altais could recognize.

“Well you and I share this interest in machinistry. That’s enough to start a conversation in itself I daresay. I try to talk with everyone here, but you keep up with my theories better than anyone else. You don’t share much about yourself, but when we work together I see a bright mind behind that harsh exterior that I’d like to get to know more” Stephanivien thought aloud, seeming to consider his words carefully.

“I’m not really sure what it is you think you see. I’m not a very good person and I come across exactly as I am” Altais answered back.

“Ah, but you’re not a bad person. ‘Good’ and ‘kind’ are not always connected. You may not be kind my friend, but I can assure you that you are good. Do you think I would have seen the potential I did in you if you weren’t?”

Altais had her doubts. She could see what he meant, this city was full of outwardly kind people who were rotten to the core. But just following some heroic types around didn’t make her good like they were.

“I don’t think I’ll ever understand your persistence in befriending me” Altais finally decided with a shake of her head.

Maybe someday she would. But she’d said pretty much the same thing to Akku early on, and while she liked him and considered him a friend now, she still didn’t understand his persistent attempts at friendship in face of her attempts to brush him away.

“You might just need more time to grow used to it. But if there is anything I can do to make you feel more comfortable here, be sure to tell me. I would hate for you not to return” Stephanivien insisted.

Altais turned away from her own work to glance at the project behind him.

“Well that gun certainly isn’t capable of shooting me in the back, so I think I’m safe for the moment” she pointed out.

Stephanivien feigned hurt, “You wound me! Worry not though! She’ll shoot perfectly well once I finish putting her together! But I believe the targets we have set up would be more suitable for testing than your back”

“Using those would come with less regret too I’d imagine. The targets don’t shoot back”

Stephanivien laughed, and while Altais’s face didn’t change, a slight upward lift in her tail gave away her amusement to those who knew to recognize it.

Altais didn’t have the answer to her question in the end, but she also didn’t have a reason to stop coming back.

Valen is nonbinary and defaults to they / them pronouns. Though they don't mind if you use she / him as well. They don't really have a preference all the same.

When the time came for them to start training, Valen decided to leave home and never look back, changing their name in the process. This is something they never address and never get into considering they were on a different life path compared to what tradition for their clan back home wanted.

They have found family in the form of Alric Spencer, that's their buddy and sometimes they go on treasure map hunts with him.

MCH main, total gunbun, enjoys tinkering around with machinery as well and is a total nerd customizing their turrets.

Has an absolute interest in magitek and pays super close attention whenever they're around the Garlond Ironworks crew.

They will cause problems and it will be on purpose.

Has a scar over their eye when tinkering with one of their turrets went wrong.

Has both WOL verses and Companion verses, can be swapped depending on the dynamics and plotted threads with partners! Where they're at during certain parts of MSQ are absolutely impacted by this so very co-wol friendly as well!

Their Ancient / Azem name was Dionysus. More on them at a later time.

which job questlines do you consider 'canon' for your wol/oc? do they play out as they do ingame, or are some parts altered for your character's story? Nov 14, 2022

In Raginmar's case, ACN→SMN/SCH, RDM and MCH are canon. GNB and ROG differ a little in that he's already a trained gunbreaker and rogue; for GNB he rehoned his skills while travelling with Radovan and Sophie, while for ROG he just got caught up in the Rogues' Guild's shenanigans.

The latter situation is pretty much the case for most of them, tbh! Hyllizirn, Canso, L'vazha and Marzanna, as newcomers to Eorzea, already have varying degrees of combat knowledge so they're not absolute beginners like the job questlines typically paint the WoL as, so most of the job questlines, for them, are canonical in terms of PLOT only with a few alterations i.e. Hyllizirn making a name for herself as part of the Marauders' Guild, Canso bypassing the ARC questline and seeking out Jehantel on his own, L'vazha reuniting with Musosai etc.

That's only the case for the adventuring party, though. For the auxiliary party, only the doppelgänger has a true canonical job questline in RPR. Lunamara's not a combat-trained BRD, while she learned the Kriegstanz from Canso and studied red magery under Arya, not X'rhun Tia. Valeria, similarly, left Garlemald after the Final Days and studied at the Arcanists' Guild before becoming interested in the Nymian Scholars' ability to heal and protect, and learned SCH from Setoto Seto with the occasional consultation from Surito CaritoValeria, similarly, left Garlemald after the Final Days and studied at the Arcanists' Guild before becoming interested in the Nymian Scholars' ability to heal and protect, and learned SCH from Setoto Seto with the occasional consultation from Surito Carito.

I really like that question because the entire reason I made my OCs is to explore the different job questlines and see if I could tie them to the characters' story and lore, and it's been such a fun project so far. I'll dive into this more when I set up the lore page properly!

Going back an episode and watching Born This Way

Which classes have you played in FFXIV and which were your favourite and least favourite. Both gameplay and aesthetic wise?

oh!! this is a fun question! i have 2 characters, i'll go through each of them

for my au ra (main):

paladin - ok so my very first class was gladiator/paladin. it was nice for soloing stuff, i didn't mind it as a class in general, i just didn't like tanking lol

machinist - after heavensward i picked up machinist instead. it's my favorite class out of everything i've played. i consider it my 'main' class for my au ra even though he switches between red mage and mch. i'm not the biggest fan of the aesthetic but it's fun to play (plus we get a flamethrower!!!!!)

red mage - this one took me a while to get used to, but after i figured it out (after getting to like level 60 lol) i'm having a lot of fun with it! it's probably my favorite magic class that i've played! i still prefer mch over red mage but it's a nice secondary class for my au ra. aesthetic-wise it's pretty cool! goes against the typical 'mage aesthetic'

astrologian - this is a new class i picked up with this character. it's pretty straightforward healing, and pretty similar to white mage, but with some different stuff plus a cool aesthetic.

for my viera -

scholar - ok so i bought the 'finish arr' package thing for this character when it was on sale for $5 lol so i just had to level up to 50. i was a scholar and just did dungeons nonstop since healers get instant queues. scholar isn't my favorite healer, i kinda prefer astrologian but it's been a while since i've played scholar. i'm really not big on the aesthetic lol

summoner - this one got leveled up for free when i leveled up scholar lol. they completely revamped this class after the last expansion came out and i never bothered re-learning it, so it's still at like level 50 and i don't really plan to go back to it soon

samurai - i leveled samurai from 50-60 and it was just ok. i thought it was a little boring tbh, just the same rotation over and over and over. and maybe it's just me but it was pretty easy to mess up the rotation since it's kinda long. i wouldn't mind going back to it, the aesthetic is really cool, but maybe later

dancer - this is my viera's 'main' class. i love it so much, it's so much fun. it might actually be tied with machinist as my favorite class to play lol. i love the aesthetic too, i even got a nice outfit for him to go with the dancer vibes hehe

white mage - ok i will be totally honest, i bought this class to level 70 back when it was on sale LOL. i knew i liked healing and didn't want to level another class so.... yeah. but i've played it a bit and i like how it plays for dungeons and stuff. kinda similar to astrologian but easier. pretty nice aesthetic, i like the staves they use

bard - ok this is the latest one i'm just now leveling up. i'm only level 36 lol but so far it's ok. i really like ranged physical dps classes but out of the 3 i think bard is my least fave so far, but i still like it. i think in the later levels it will get more interesting

anyway those are the ones i've tried so far at least in a significant way! once you get to level 50 (or even sooner if you want!) i recommend trying other classes out! if you get frustrated with your current class just remember it's easy to pick up another, and it can totally change how the game feels.

keep in mind that i haven't done any serious raiding or anything, just msq and whatnot. so i can't speak to how any class plays in 'serious' (aka not casual) settings

Drakengard Audio Finds- Voice Over

I learned a bit too late that the version of the game I have right now is the Japanese release. There is English voice over in these files, but all of the cutscene dialogue is in the video files themselves. I do want to get that dialogue as well, so I'll do some digging for a different ROM, as well as all the DLC files. That said, I did still find some cool stuff! (Some spoilers ahead)

1-The lines aren't necessarily arranged in chronological order. Rather, they go by area and are ordered chronologically in that area. This means that dialogue from different branches can be right next to each other, which is a bit jarring. The general order is: Prologue, Land of Seas, Land of Mountains, Land of Forests, Land of Sands, Cathedral City. Each area is then further divided in this order, where applicable: Branch A, Branch B, Branch C, Lost Verses, Branch D. For example, the Land of Seas files are in the order: Branch A, Lost Verses.

2- Each voiceover line is named using a code that helps you determine who is talking and when the line takes place. Codes with GM take place during gameplay, and SP are in cutscenes (all the SP lines in this file are in Japanese)

Each character also has their own code

ZER = Zero

MKH = Mikhail

MCH = Michael

FIV = Five

FOU = Four

THR = Three

TWO = Two

ONE = One

DIT = Dito

DEC = Decadus

OCT = Octa

CEN = Cent

ACR = Accord

ONEX = Brother One

SOL = Soldier

In the cases of multiple soldiers or the Accord copies speaking, they are denoted with an extra letter, SOLA, SOLB, SOLC, ACRB, ACRC. There is no ACRA, as the "original" Accord is just labelled as ACR.

3- There's a few goofs in there, though not many. The most common I've found are voice lines being repeated (or different takes of the same line) but there are cases of poorly recorded lines in the files. I've only found these with the Japanese cutscene dialogue (Brother One has the most of these by far)

4- MOB dialogue! This is actually what I was looking for when I started this project in the first place. MOB dialogue are voice lines that play during gameplay, spoken by the soldiers you're fighting. These differ from the lines by soldiers that the characters react to in that MOB dialogue is not subtitled in any way any usually gets overpowered by everything else going on. These lines are still arranged according to their place in the story, and there's a lot of really funny stuff in there!

If people are interested, I can either make a master post of all the MOB dialogue on tumblr, or try and compile it all into a video. Either way, I'd like to document it in some form.

5- Just another neat thing I found. Between the music files and the actual story voiceover files are a series labelled as GAMEVOICE. These are further divided into BOSS_VOICE, GAMEVOICE, and MKH_SONG.

BOSS_VOICE are hints for the boss fights (fireballs don't work, use your talons, etc) and are exclusively spoken by either Mikhail or Zero with one exception. Cent has three BOSS_VOICE files that are meant to play if you're having trouble with the Egregori fight.

GAMEVOICE are just some of the flavour dialogue that plays after Mikhail's level ups, when you choose which disciple you're bringing with you, and when the disciples give you their weapons. The only GAMEVOICE lines spoken by Zero are commands for Mikhail.

MKH_SONG is exactly what it sounds like and its adorable.

Before I try and find another ROM and the DLC files, I'm going to do a bit more digging through what I have now to see if I can find the SFX. As always if anyone has any insight or just wants to chat, I'm always open!

i just finished the MSQ for 6.0.

okay so first of all, RIP the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, thank god i bought a fc room so Dia won’t be homeless.

i’m thinking that the way that this is going, they’re going to move away from these characters in 7.0, get away from anything related to 1.0 including them (shame about Estinien though, he just got there and wasn’t in 1.0 or even ARR aside from DRG quests) which isn’t surprising- all of them had amazing development and I really can’t see where anything else would need to be done, with the exception of maybe g’raha and alisaie, g’raha needs to go on an adventure with Dia, and alisaie needs to learn not to emulate her, i would have thought getting into a fight with a megalomaniacal asshole after just taking down Despair itself would teach her that, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

also estinien was the funniest fucking part of the expac with the exception of the way he chose to break my heart on Ultima Thule. otherwise, he’s refreshingly honest, and has the funniest moments in this game, he’s gone from all right to bestie in my book

that level 90 trial thooooo, and the way that they all prayed for you in the same way that helped Louisoix avert the Seventh Umbral Calamity was a heartstring ,tugger

love the way they got mad at Dia for sacrificing herself when they sacrificed their bodies to make sure she would get to Meteion. speaking of Ultima Thule, that whole thing broke my heart until the end, like i knew that i was probably bringing them back somehow in some deep part of my brain, but that didn’t stop the speeches and the reactions from tearing me apart, i was legitimately crying after G’raha’s parting

the scene with Zenos, like dayuuum, Dia’s a slugger! thank god, im glad she got to punch zenos in the fucking mouth, worth nearly dying in the empty expanse of space for that. i hope that’s rewatchable in unending tale.

also urianger popped an interesting question- apparently, none of them dropped the teleporter button to get back to the ship, he said it just appeared and that moenbryda’s parents confirmed there was no way for that to happen, so uh…maybe that’ll be explained later, maybe it won’t

i still need to work on getting my drg, pally, and mch up to 90, but i really liked the caster role quest (yeah yeah i know im a massive simp, but still) it was just really sweet. the way aymeric confided in you and just wanted to walk and talk with you through the Pillars during the 89 quest 🥺 and how he implies that he has so little confidence in his own emotions, he tells you had you not done what you did, he may have succumbed to it and become a beast himself 😭😭😭 please take a nap and find a therapist im begging you, now that Lucia is in Garlemald, Dia’s gonna have to pull him out of his office herself

I'm about to start writing for ffxivwrite but since I am bad at posting about my OCs they might hit some people out of left field. The characters page on my blog has more in depth backstory details (even if it's a little outdated, Altais's pictures still have her old glam and hair and I'm sure there's new stuff I haven't added) but for a quick and easy reference I'm going to put a short bullet point style write up on my main three OCs here and link it before every fic I post this month. Under the cut so it stays nice and short looking lol.

An important distinction to be aware of right away is not all these characters exist in the same universe!!! Altais and Akku are written in Solarverse, a group WoL universe with my friends and so you'll see references to more than one WoL. Any character you don't recognize mentioned in their stories that isn't canon is more than likely another friend's WoL. A'kito is written in his own solo universe though, anything written about him has him as the only WoL. There are a couple side character OCs of mine I've introduced in his universe, so characters you don't recognize written in his stories are probably those. Ok now the basic really fast character bullet points:

Altais Narluu

GNB and MCH are canon classes with a little bit of SMN (researched and incorporated into her weapon designs)

Genius weapons engineer, current research focuses on combining magitek with magic in a way Garleans can't since she can use magic. Summoning magic is of particular interest.

Accidentally corrupted by a new primal thanks to said summoning research, it's a new incarnation of Bahamut but with her own Issues mixed into the summoning so he doesn't look quite the same as the original.

Grew up with terrible no good mother who left her to care for herself very young, not very trusting and quick to fight when threatened.

Essentially had a found family type arc with Solar and they're the people she really trusts now

Akku Ephos

Just a little guy really. Super friendly, quick to trust, and tries really hard to befriend everyone.

Started out as a NIN under Zelda's (the leader of Solar) training, but was never a very good fighter. Found his purpose as a healer WHM later on.

His echo also comes with the ability to see dynamis on people. So he can literally see emotions as an aura around everyone.

Tries to be Everyone's Therapist bc of this, while hiding his own feelings bc he doesn't want to upset them and see their sadness when he's struggling.

Grew up in Gridania with his brother, an incident when his brother was drunk ended up with him fleeing home and ending up in Limsa where the rogues took care of him until he met Solar

A'kito Noro

Grew up in Bozja, adopted by a Hrothgar father as a baby. Has an adoptive Viera brother named Kotah.

Goes by Kito usually even though A'kito is his full name since he never knew the tribe the prefix came from.

DRK was his class until the end of EW using a sword/soulstone inherited from his father. At the end of EW he hung up his father's sword and now uses a RPR/DRG combo essentially.

Accidentally bound his soul to Twintania freeing her from allagan control after the binding coils. Think Inheritance Cycle dragon rider type bond between them.

Loves botany. Studied it until the Bozja Incident sent him into a DRK depression spiral. Talk to him about plants pls he will love you.

His brother was evil for awhile but got better in ShB

Ok yeah this is longer than I intended but shouldn't be long if you're just referencing the character you're reading about. Feel free to ask me anything about any of them though! This is Idienne, the adopted daughter of Charibert and Yotsuyu. She’s around the same age as Annalise (Raven and Haurchefant’s eldest), Khair and Argasar (Rukia and Foulques’s twin kiddos), but was adopted around the time Vidienne (Raven and Haurchefant’s youngest), Mingyi (Mingxia and Foulques’s youngest) and Sidimund (Zephirin and Kaia’s second) were born.

She’s a huge daddy’s girl, something that still makes Charibert’s mind reel a lot considering who he was and both he and Yotsuyu were terrified of possibly screwing her up but they both were done for the second she chose them when offered somewhere else to stay. She looks a lot like him, even though he’s only ever been with Yotsuyu and she’s full Elezen. She often gets shit for it, and he is a very overprotective parent. Yotsuyu is as well, but also wishes to let Idienne make her own choices and mistakes, something she wasn’t allowed herself. 

She’s an AST and MCH main, taking to her Aunt Kaia and Nuncle Jannequinard’s teachings of healing through the stars, but also knows how to fuck a bitch up thanks to her mama’s revolver, and once she opens up is actually really sassy like both of her parents. She also is very fashionable, as she has the fashionista parents. Example for the parents:

Idienne occasionally dabbles in thaumaturgy, if nothing else than to get over her fears of hurting people with the destructive magic, but that’s not going to be her main role. She’s definitely more interested in healing than damage dealing.

Charibert and Yotsuyu actually decide to marry to better safeguard Idienne even though they don’t need marriage, namely due to Charibert’s own worries of the same shit that happened to him happen to her.

i always love seeing other people's more sketchy styles but for some reason i hate posting mine... so i want to use this to get over myself a little bit!

01 Introduction

a young veena viera that tries his best to outrun his responsibilities (which is a fairly successful musical theatre career)

he is interested in entertainment automatons and puppets, but has to make due with his minions and a war mech

he likes to appear "strong, gentle and beautiful", but does it too successful for his own liking and now people actually believe it

while Atarase is his stage name, he doesn't really use his real name anymore

also rip me, i grinded a month for master botanist only for them to remove hq items

and from their wording they are changing achievements and no matter how they change it it's going to be easier to get now

because the counting was really weird and i doubt they are going to change it to "collect multiple items 10000 times"

i should have just gone for octopus traveller...

together with singing and dancing he also learned about stagecraft which sparked his interest in automatons as in Puppetmaster, which doesn't exist yet, but until then I have mch and sge

He also learned blade dancing along the way, which is my backwards explanation why he is actually a sam main in-game

03 Group Dynamic

a lone wolf on his off-time waiting for somebody who will listen to his ramblings

he tends to be very impersonal with strangers

as said before he tries to behave "strong, gentle and beautiful"

but he's afraid that people don't like him when it turns out that's not really him

so he'll keep his passions to himself even though he would love nothing more than to waffle about them

i didn't know what to write into the speech bubbles and i just read another shit take about yorha dark apocalypse

so i just ranted right into my drawing

at this point "good writing" has lost all meaning to me

i guess subtext really is dead, huh

anyways, the dig site chief's name is gesugg, it's in the scripting, but it's not used in-game what a fool i am somehow i missed that that's another npc, my bad, but the following point still stands, just pretend my character made a joke

and judging from the recent dengeki interview not using a name was indeed on purpose

because he did make a point about how the dwarves all wear helmets

which was part of my thought process on why they also don't have names but descriptors

thinking about sasabe and her reasons for being a black mage...i think the original reason was just she always seemed more interested in 'destroying' than creating, as her mother would put it, so she decided why not learn how to do so diliberately (also none of the other guilds in uldah called to her).

but i think throughout arr, as she meets so many people who seem to hold her job in contempt even if they never say so out loud, she grows a desire to prove there IS merit to being a black mage and more to it than just a grab for power.

in hsw after she picks up mch she starts getting experimental, using her teachings in the black arts and machinistry to embellish both jobs with a unique (and pretty explosive) touch. though, i have mentioned she wouldve been pretty stung by the conjurer that berates you in blm's quests...and while she doesnt really forgive the guy, it only serves to embolden her to prove to the world black magic can work towards good ends

Henry bi transman! his pronouns r he/him!

Sammy prestudio is in the closet,  but they’re queer! Gender? Sexuality? They’re queer. Their pronouns r He/They/She Sammy is also Autistic!

Linda is Queer amab nonbinary!!! Her pronouns r she/her or they/them. Her n Henry get married a bit after his quite from the studio.

uUUH post studio after Henry n Sammy escape- they are together, n eventually Sammy, Henry n Linda r all together n In Love polyam rights!!!!!!!! Sammy gets: a lovely Husband and darling spouse who love them very much. She also feels safe enough, n trusts the two them enough to come out to them!!! They love her v mch.

-Prestudio Sam doens’t actually have the tail or ears its just relevant to the au, n also- is cute. d:>c They usually keep her hair up in a ponytail, n Linda does as well. Sammy’s 6′4, Henry’s 5′4 and Linda’s 5′10

(me n my friend Kit @apxlllo(who works on the au with me, and has written so mch Lovely stuff for the au) do plan to write up a proper post/more detailed summary on the au soon hopefully!, this is just a v basic barebones summary of the au I wrote up- A looot of stuff has been left out, this is just a gist of things! We also hav a doc for au stuff tht I hope to eventually try n get organized at Some point tht I’ll Post whenever its done)

To Sum things up in Short: Sammy after being killed by Bendy after having tried sacrificing Henry, comes back, crawling out of the ink puddles only to get captured by Alice/Susie. Their dragged back to her lair and once there she decides to make use of him, and starts to rip him open, pull his insides out and pull him apart to turn him into another of her monsters- She removes his insides, and starts to replace them with Butchered Boris guts, and she starts to notice how his body is reacting to it- absorbing the ink and she finds that Very interesting. When she’s finished with this- done Torturing him basically, prodding his insides and pulling them apart, she sews him back up before injecting some of her own ink into him, Which links the two of them which in turn means she can Control/Influence them in a sense. After this is done to him- He ends up transforming into a big Inky weremonster(Who I call Were-Sammy) for the first time, the process is..Extremely painful, and she watches it happen, smiling the entire time.

Oh he’s simply PERFECT, She can definitely use him to her advantage..he’d make a perfect monster for her. Initially though, His form is quite unstable, which causes him to erratically turn back and forth(which is very painful mind you-) so while she’s fine tuning him, working on her newest monster, Henry continues to be her lil errand boy. 

Until, Sammy is finally acting like she wants.

She can force him to turn into his wereself whenever she wishes him to, and his first order is to kill that Animator running around HER studio- She sends him after Henry, fully expecting him to come back covered in his blood, or at least carrying his Corpse, but instead, he comes back, tail between his legs, having not been able to kill Henry(there’s more to this in the au but!), She’s quite mad at him for this. Forces him to turn back to himself, far faster then Normal, leaving him a melted mess on the floor as she shouts at him about how she wants Results- and if she doesn’t get them she might just have to pull him open again- he begs her not to, he can kill them- He swears, She just says she wants results, she wants him dead, and she wants it Now- Before he can react. She’s forcing him to turn again, And sets her monster off back on their goal to kill Henry.

She keeps sending him after Henry- But he keeps coming back empty handed every time which just enrages her more with each time, Making her lash out at him, He’ll turn back and she’ll immediately force him to turn again, and when their too weak for that, she lets him have a Little rest, which just consists of him locked in a single room, chained to a wall so he can’t escape, before she decides he’s rested enough, and walks into the room to drag him out to force him to turn again. In the beginning, Every time she’d open the door, he’d scream, beg her not to, struggle against her, kick and scream but after a while he just, Stopped trying. There was no reason to delay the inevitable. there was no stopping it. So he gave up Fighting it, or trying. 

Eventually, At some point while Hunting Henry she turns back, and Henry finds them. He’s immediately concerned, He wants to help them, tries to approach him but he just screams at him to get the fuck away from him- to just leave him, to get Away from them- Because his wereself..Doesn’t really LIKE Henry all that much- because he’s the reason their ‘Angel’  is so cruel and awful to them- He manages to convince Henry to leave him, fighting back his wereself to keep himself from changing, which lets Henry get away as he finally can’t hold it back anymore. Henry runs away, as he hears Sammy’s screaming, the sound of bone breaking, and at that moment he realizes the new Monster Alice made is Sammy- He decides then he needs to save him, to get him away from Alice.

After that Henry has two goals, One: Save Sammy, and Two: Escape the studio with him. At some point Henry is able to get Sammy away from Alice- n then the two are working together/sticking together to get out of the studio, While dealing with the hassle of Sammy just, randomly turning into his wereself, and the problems with himself being a big Inky weremonster. Also in the process of this...The two get close, end up falling for each other, In the beginning of Sammy realizing he’s falling for Henry, he tries Desperately to convince himself he hasn’t, he doesn’t love him, and tries to lie to himself that he Doesn’t, There’s no happy endings here, he shouldn’t- but he can’t lie to himself, for the first time in so long, he has Hope, He feels hope because Henry assures him they’ll get out of here, that they’ll escape- Together- and truly, for the first time it feels so possible, Henry is so caring to him- he’s so kind to him- He can’t lie to himself that he hasn’t fallen for Henry, that he doesn’t Love him- even if he does try telling himself that in the beginning.

Henry feels the same, He loves Sammy so much and he’d do anything for him- he means the world to him, and he’s the reason he keeps fighting to get out, to get him out of there, to be free, as well as to see Linda again- but he fights for them both to get out of this inky hell, Together- he won’t leave without him.

The two become very close, become much more then just companions or friends, ending up together, and eventually they DO escape the studio: Together, and live with Linda at her and Henry’s home. After being there for a bit, Linda and Sammy grow close, end up falling in love, and all three of them are together and love one another very Much- Linda and Henry? Love their amazing inky wife so Much, and Sammy loves them too, he’s never felt so happy- and so Full of love as she does now with them- they mean the world to him and she is so thankful to have them in his life, and get to wake up every morning to them both.

BUT- YEAH! This is the gist of the au- i left out a lot of like specific Scenes in the au, like Before Sammy and Henry leave the studio- Susie/Alice is killed, that’s a big scene in the au- amongst stuff tht happens with Bendy once outside the studio- buuut YEAH- that’s the gist of the au HGDHHGSH Sorry if this is poorly written- or a mess, I do plan to work wqith kit to get a better post on the au up eventually, and plan on organizing the au doc to share soon! Eventually there will be drawings of the lads- Eventually, especially Inky Sammy- There are drawings of Were-Sam you can find on my blog though if you go looking. THOUGH- Here’s a description of Were-Sam, 

Were-Sammy stands about 8, almost 9ft tall, His body is a dark black color that shifts between darker shades of black(this color shifting is quite slow usually, so it isn’t Too noticable), and is covered in melty, inky fur. The fur is soft, but Also melty n he has ink kiind of melting off of him. His hands are semi paw like with sharp claws and his feet are half melted paws. He has a long melty tail covered in melty black fur, the underside of the tails fur is longer/meltier. His ears are long, wide at the base and thinner towards the ends of them. He has long sharp canine like teeth. and his eyes are piecut, a glowy amberish red, and ink of the same color is constantly melting down from his eyes down his face. His inky fur is thicker/longer around his neck and down his back along his spine. Body wise? He’s muscular but also kiinda chubby. I’m not very good at describing body types so forgive me 😔.

n a lil bit on were-sammy specifically:

Were-Sammy is very affectionate to both Linda and Henry and love them both very much, he’s a big Lovable fool, jus a big Puby. Sometimes when Sammy turns, He’s just themselves, other times their far more wolf then herself. Were-sammy is very nice to them both- very lovable and very protective. He is...good sweet lad, and Linda and Henry lov their big Monster Husband so much. Were-sammy? Good boy. Also due to being a weremonster, Sammy does have his more monstery traits come out when he isn’t even in their wereform! Such as: Howling(both Linda and Henry find it great fun to howl to try and get Sammy to- They do not appreciate it), growling, whining, n at times acting Kiiind of like his wereself, one specific thing is: when Linda or Henry come home from being out- she gets SO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO SEE THEM- Immediately has to get up and rush over to the door to greet them and hug them- He’s very affectionate, and snuggly! He does have a ‘half’ form he will occasionally shift into, Which is pretty much him gaining his claws, sharper teeth and his ears n tail, as well as gettin Kinda fluffie(aka getting some of his fur, specifically going down his back- Soft), In his half form they tend to act more of their wereself at times- and are very excitable!!! jus...good puby..
