List of Central Florida Things I think Benny would be very into
Jeepin with Judd. Not because he actually gives a shit about Grady Judd, but because he used to go mudding with his friends in high school and kind of misses it. He’s a jeep guy. He’s actually very anti Grady Judd and thinks it’s weird that the guy has his own parade float for Christmas.
Gasparilla. He’s showing up in a full pirate outfit, he’s pregamed at Tom’s house, and he’s blackout drunk by the time the parade starts. Will and Santiago give him all the beads they collect, Frankie keeps his because he gives them to his daughter later.
Disney (surprisingly). He has the DAS pass because no way in hell is he waiting in long ass lines all day and triggering his PTSD. His favorite ride is mission space (orange mission) because he’s the only one in the group who can ride it without getting sick.
Rising Star at Universals City Walk. Benny is a karaoke pro and I will not hear otherwise. He’s slamming back a double shot Cat 5 at fat tuesdays and then absolutely owning everyone at Rising Star. His go to song is Don’t Stop Believin’, because of course it is.
Lightning games. He was never a big hockey guy until Tom took him to a game once, now he likes to go if it means the other guys are coming with him.
Rays games. Played baseball in high school and still has a soft spot for it. He doesn’t think the rays are particularly good, but he enjoys watching the games anyway.
Fishing at the Skyway Pier. He likes to go late at night, because that’s lowkey the best time to go, and because it’s easy to snag his own little corner of the bridge. This could be a group activity, but most the time he comes out alone just to give himself space to think.
A good beach day. His favorite beach is Anna Maria, but he’s not opposed to Clearwater. He never wears sunscreen, because if he didn’t wear it during any of his tours why the hell would he start now? Will tries to get him to wear it and it results into an all out fight in the sand.
Bonus points for a beach day where they rent jet skis. He likes to race Will and do donuts until he’s about to fall off.
Strawberry picking in Plant City. There’s a nostalgia to going to a farm and picking your own produce. It reminds him of the good parts of his childhood.
Strawberry festival. Five words: build your own strawberry shortcake. Also the lemonade, and the deep fried Oreos, honestly just any of the food. He doesn’t fuck with the rides though. Will told him how unsafe they were when he was a kid and he’s been terrified to go on them since.
Top Golf (not specifically Central Florida, but whatever). He thinks golf is boring and could never pay attention to it, but top golf is just bowling meets mini golf and is just chaotic enough to keep him focused on it.
#exposing myself here a little bit but whatever#I’m obsessed with having a fictional character who actually lives in the same general area as me#it’s so fun#benny miller#ben miller#triple frontier

Tampa Bay is an up-and-coming city located on the west coast of Central Florida. Known for its warm weather, sandy beaches, theme parks, and professional sports’ teams, Tampa is a popular travel destination throughout the year.
If you’re planning on visiting Tampa Bay, here are a few hidden gems located just minutes from the downtown area.
Indian Rocks Beach
Want to beat the chaos of the city? Make your way to the beach. Whereas most travelers fight with the crowds to see the world-renowned Clearwater Beach or St. Pete Beach, you can take advantage of the hidden gem that is Indian Rocks Beach.
Indian Rocks Beach is a three-mile stretch of sand along the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy a nice stroll along the beach, build a sand castle, or watch the sunset at one of the many beachfront restaurants.
If you are visiting Tampa for a few days, consider staying a night or two at one of the hotels along Indian Rocks Beach.
Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights
If you are a traveler who enjoys experiencing a city like a regular, then you should take some time to explore Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights. Pegged as the two trendiest neighborhoods in Tampa, Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights offer plenty of activities for tourists.
Are you a beer connoisseur? Seminole Heights is home to many popular breweries including Angry Chair, Brew Bus Brewing, Southern Brewing & Winemaking, and 7venth Sun Brewery. If you prefer great cuisine, Seminole Heights has some of the highest-rated restaurants in Tampa such as Rooster & the Till, The Refinery, and Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe.
Another hotspot for locals is Armature Works in Tampa Heights. It’s a public market and food hall that sits along the Hillsborough River just minutes from downtown. With more than a dozen fast-casual local restaurants, visitors get a true taste of Tampa Bay.
Hyde Park
Hyde Park is another community near Tampa’s downtown area that is worth exploring. It’s known for being one of the most popular strips of the Gasparilla parade route, with pirate-themed floats and paraders navigating the immaculate homes along Bayshore Boulevard.
However, Hyde Park is also worth visiting even when it’s not during the Gasparilla Pirate Festival. Hyde Park Village is a great place to spend the day, especially if you are visiting during the first Sunday of the month when they hold a Farmer’s Market on the lawn. With numerous shops, restaurants, and activities like ceramics painting, you will have plenty of options.
Explore Tampa’s Hidden Gems
Tampa Bay has a lot of activities for travelers, and most vacationers will have no trouble finding ways to past the time while visiting the city. However, try exploring the areas of Tampa that are less popular with tourists.
Everyone knows about Busch Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo, and the Tampa Bay Lightning, but what about bar hopping in Seminole Heights or grabbing a nice dinner on Indian Rocks Beach? Take advantage of everything Tampa has to offer — not just the main attractions.

Former Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier suffers injuries in Florida bus crash Former Lightning captain Vincent Lecavalier suffers injuries in Florida bus crash https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
TAMPA, Fla. — Vincent Lecavalier, a former captain for the Tampa Bay Lightning, has suffered minor injuries following a bus pileup in a Florida highway.
The Florida Highway Patrol told media the 38-year-old retired player and two other men were taken to the hospital Saturday following the charter bus crash.
The accident delayed Tampa’s Gasparilla Pirate Invasion, an annual parade that attracts about 200,000 people to the city’s downtown waterfront. The three buses that collided were carrying parade participants.
Troopers said two drivers were cited for careless or negligent driving. The injuries were minor.
