Junji Ito’s Horror Manga ‘Bloodsucking Darkness’ Getting Live-Action Adaptation

Entertainment news source Variety reported on Thursday that Junji Ito's "Bloodsucking Darkness" story is being developed as a live-action film, with writer Jeff Howard (Resident Evil 2021 series co-executive producer, The Haunting of Hill House supervising producer) writing the screenplay and serving as executive producer. Ito himself is a producer on the project. Film studio Fangoria Studios is producing the film. “Fangoria Studios is going to adapt my manga! I’m so excited to see how it will turn out,” said Ito, who is serving as a producer. “I hope I get to see the trailer in my dreams tonight.” Tara Ansley, Armen Aghaeian, and Abhi Goel are credited as producers for the film under Fangoria Studios, while Yasu Kutami and Tsubasa Yamaguchi are producers under Amuse Group USA. Phil Wurtzel is executive producer under Friel Films. Kevin Nicklaus, Ryan Lewis, and Joe Riley are also executive producers. "Bloodsucking Darkness" is one of Ito's many one-shot manga short stories. The story centers on a girl named Nami, who is so obsessed with dieting that she finds herself vomiting blood. She dreams about a world that rains blood, and has founder herself waking up with blood all around her. She meets a boy named Kazuya, who expresses worry about her dieting, and tries to get close to her.

The group sees the door open with Berkia sighing to move. They all looked to the one sitting in the main chair to look up seeing Ethan and Lewis. He adjusted his sunglasses to lower them. His red eyes looking to both Ethan and Lewis to show a small gentle smile. “Yes, I remember speaking to you on the phone. My apologies though.” He stood up from the chair to look at them.

“My name is Tsubasa, the uninvited eight and master for my subclass vampires here. As to meeting with you, I wanted to discuss a form of alliance. You see, I’m trying to find many powerful organizations that’s willing to help with the use of unknown events that’s happened during the last few years. I’ve spoken to one organization Assassin’s CHI. (Criminal Hunting Inter). Their leader was alright with the bonding. Soooooo....would you also like to combine some alliance?” he said looking at him.

Lewis had come to the city to make a buisness deal with someone. They hadn't told him the name just that it was good opportunity for him. Ethan had come along as usual as he had to protect Lewis.
