@useless-catalanfacts
Just remembering that episode of Les Tres Bessones (or As Trigêmeas as I knew them) where la Bruixa Avorrida sends them into the story of Don Quixote & he's running around after the witch thinking she's Dulcinea and she's basically like "haha NO" all episode long.
Tumblr media
I remember almost nothing from that episode but I do remember her standing atop a windmill all but telling him to kindly FUCK OFF.
That witch was an absolute boss.
P.S. I went to the park when I visited a friend in the early aughts when I was 12 and it was rad af! I still have the books I got at the park to this day. :)

Here’s further awesome proof that cosplay is for everyone! Brazilian cosplayer Solange, aka Tia sol (“Aunty Sun”) has won the heart of the internet with her wonderfully accurate homemade costumes and convention appearances around her home city of Manaus, Brazil.
“A friend said that I wouldn’t have the guts,” Solange told BuzzFeed News. “I chose a character and had the costume made without saying another word.”
“I don’t miss a single event in my city. I’d really like to visit other ones, but have you seen the price of the fares?”
Tumblr media
“I never thought that I would be well received among the young people, I’ve made a lot of friends during all of this.” Cosplay conventions have become a sort of a haven for Solange: “I can launch myself into the world of make-believe, where anything goes.” Her next event is coming up in December. “I’m finishing up the painting on my new cosplay, Granny Juju from Jorel’s Brother.”
Follow Tia Sol on Facebook to keep up with her latest cosplay creations.

La Bruixa Avorrida/La Bruja Aburrida (The Bored Witch), the main character witch from a series of Spanish children's books with the same name that were later adapted to cartoons. She is also the aunt of the triplets Teresa, Anna and Helena, that have their own series of books/TV show called Les Tres Bessones (The Triplets).

Based on a series of children's picture books focusing on the relationship between triplet sisters Annie, Tessa and Nellie (Ana, Teresa and Elena in spanish, catalan and portuguese), and the Bored Witch. In each episode the girls get into some sort of mischief and are "punished" by the Bored Witch, who sends them into a traditional fairytale, a legend, a classic work of literature, or a particular period of history.
The series creator, Roser Capdevilla, was inspired by her own triplet daughters to create the title characters.

Factoide #4315

Taobuk 2023 a Taormina
Tumblr media
Read the full article

You know who the most underatted character in cartoon history is?
The bored Witch from the catalan cartoon ”The Triplets”
Tumblr media
She is just a witch who lives with her owl and is bored constantly. And because she is bored, she decided to send these triplets to various fairytales
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though, she is more or less a babysitter to them.
Tumblr media
What i’m saying is, this old witch just decided to prank some children she claims annoys her by sending them to fairy tales just because she was bored, but in the end she’s more of a babysitter who makes these triplets day a thousands times more fun.
In the end credits, she sings a song about how she really feels about the triplets. I don’t know if she sings the same things in every version. I myself grew up with the swedish version, but in that one she admits that while the triplets often annoy her, she couldn’t live without them. When they are there, she is never ever a bored witch.
