more of me coping.
2020: record turn-out, more votes than in any other election in american history. trump lost then he went on for weeks and weeks - he never stopped, really - saying there was fraud and the elections was stolen, and with his claims he 1. made money 2. incited an insurrection to try and stop the certification of biden.
then dems spent many months in court to prove there were no irregularities in the election and it took like more than a week to have the results.
now 2024: record turn-out, record of new voters registrations. yet both harris and trump lost millions of votes compared to 4 years ago. where did 15 millions of dem voters go??? bomb threats, machines not recognising ballots, rejected ballots, voter rolls purges, ballots set ablaze. in the same night of the election we got trump declared the winner. record votes got an awfully fast counting if you ask me. states that biden won flipped to red, and in some places dems got voted up and down the ballot, straight ticket….except the presidency. make it make sense.
all of this to say magaturds went on and on about fraudulent elections when there was no fraud, damaging the trust in the electoral system, and now that shit stinks and there are legitimate concerns of republican fraud…we’re not allowed to say anything because the script was flipped and now *we* are being told by magaturds that the election was secure and legit because * we* spent 4 year defending the system. you see what i mean? where i’m going with this? it was the plan all along. claim election fraud, make the dems fight for it, commit the actual fraud 4 years later and slam the “safe elections” argument in our faces. we can’t claim election fraud now.
plus, trump being the republican candidate again, no questions, he was so sure he would’ve won this time. he barely campaigned, said people didn’t need to vote because he had all the votes he needed. they’ve been scheming these past 4 years and it all turned out like they wanted. and now they gloat. i can’t stand it.

I need some advice, if anyone is willing 🙏✨
I purchased a La La Land screenplay from someone on Etsy, apparently signed by Ryan and Emma for an extremely affordable price. I thought "oh, there is NO WAY in HELL these are real." and then I agonized over it for a few weeks because my god I need some serotonin, and I have a little bit of spending money left, and I WOULD like a La La Land screenplay, bonus points if it really is signed by Ryan and Emma.
Finally, I bought one, reading on the seller's page that they do full refunds/returns within 14 days of the delivery. So I had nothing to lose if I ended up discovering the autographs were fake, I could just send it back and get my full refund. No shipping fees either.
Screenplay got delivered. So gorgeous, everything looks all nice and official, got a Certificate of Authenticity with matching serial numbers. I had high hopes, at first. The sharpie Ryan and Emma supposedly signed with have bled through the page, so it cannot be a reprint. But I did some research on the "Certificate of Authenticity" and it is probably fabricated. I am 99% sure. Someone could easily fake this certificate, slap on some holographic stickers they made themself, and then mimic Ryan and Emma's signatures using their own sharpies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It says it was certified by 8FL*X institute (the * is an "i" -- I won't type the name out fully because I'm afraid it'll show up in the tumblr search results, and this guy apparently has a tumblr with a shit ton of "receipts" on him. but more on that later) and - guess what - that is not an actual institute run by multiple people. That is a website run by one (1) dude -- the very dude who sold this to me on Etsy. On the certificate, it's HIS name that is signed saying it's official. Did he witness Ryan and Emma signing this?? I have no clue. How would I know that. I don't know how this stuff works tbh but I'm pretty sure it's not real, seeing someone selling *multiple* signed scripts for just $61 each, with a lot of A list celebrities.
The holographic stickers and serial numbers seem legit, but there is no way for me to search them online to check if they're authentic. It's as if he basically said "yep these signatures are real" and signed the certificate himself. Also, if you search "8fl*x nick" on tumblr, there's a whole ton of discourse??? because he apparently leaked a screenplay for Stranger Things when he wasn't supposed to, or something??? Listen. Listen. I fucking HATE mob mentality on this hellsite; any time there's a call out post about someone, I take that shit with a grain of salt, because you don't know what's real or not, whether or not the "sources" of someone's wrongdoings are completely fabricated screenshots or not, because it's SO easy to make fake screenshots these days. but I still think it's worth mentioning here that there are existing "receipts" on this guy, bc knowing there's discourse abt this seller just in general... doesn't help me feel reassured whatsoever.
If anyone is able to figure out a way that these signatures are legit btw, that would be great. but like I said, I don't know anything about buying online autographs. Maybe there's something I can do to verify, and I just don't know it.
Anyway I debated on whether or not I should keep the screenplay, decided in the heat of a moment "ah fuck it, I wasted money", I contacted the seller and didn't mention why, I just asked for a refund without any explanation -- to my surprise, have had no trouble! He's totally willing to give me a refund without any question. Huge relief. So if I am willing, I can get a full refund and send this most-likely-not-actually-autographed screenplay back.
Except. Now... I keep thinking about it... do I actually want to give it back? I mean yes it is the smart thing to get my money back but... here's the thing. I don't own a La La Land screenplay - like, physically in my hands. I love collecting screenplays. There's a La La Land screenplay for sale online for ten bucks, but it's not the one I want, and I'm not very fond of the cover for it... I can't find another La La Land screenplay anywhere online that's as pretty as this one. There's the 2013 original version and there's the 2015 final draft version, both are really fucking good and totally different. Lots of good content. This seller put together the 2015 version, and the colors look so nice, there's photos in the front when you open it up before you get to the signed page, it's just... it's so pretty. The signatures are pretty, even if they are most likely not real, it's kind of fun to just... hope blindly that maybe, just maybe, they're real. 99% sure that they're not -- but that 1% chance is nice to think about!
So, my question: is it smarter for me to get my full refund and just settle for not owning a La La Land screenplay? Or should I keep this, despite every time I look at the signatures I feel a pang of disappointment and think to myself "ah man that's not real and I spent sixty bucks on it" ??? OR... or. or. should I return this screenplay, get my refund, and then... just .... print the screenplay myself... and make my own very pretty screenplay???
If I go that third route -- HOW do I potentially print out the entire screenplay myself? If I knew how, I could include pictures of Ryan and Emma and just put together my OWN La La Land screenplay. Oh, hell, why stop there?? Why not replace Mia's name with mine, make a whole self ship script out of it, put my own story with Sebastian? Add some drawings?? Make it look like a real screenplay. That would be such a fun project.
But... I don't own a printer and I don't know if it would cost fifty bajillion hundred thousand dollars to go to a printing shop and ask them to print up a hundred pages for me. Or... is that too big of a project to take on? Am I just being silly? ;-;
ok thank you to anyone who took the time to read this. I love u.

Hallam Cooley is a definitive head scratcher of mysteries when it comes to researching a person, and their history. He was actually born, Lindsley Hallam Burr - his first name from his paternal grandfather’s middle name, and his middle name his mother’s maiden name, while Burr was his father’s surname. The name Clifford, sometimes pops up in screen magazines and journals, but where it came from is a mystery. I can find it it in no historical or genealogy records. On various ancestry websites his first name has been misspelled as “Bendsley” which seems to be a typographical error. He was born on February 8, 1895, and not in 1888, as sometimes printed. This misinformation stems from his WWI Draft Card registration, in Brooklyn, New York, as well as, various wedding certificates. When it comes to his education, supposedly he attended Northwestern Military & Naval Academy, and the University of Southern California, other sources claim he graduated from the University of Minnesota. Yet no sources have validated, with any type of documentation.. He was supposedly a boxer, according to a few press releases, again nothing can be confirmed of this. As an actor, Hallam got his start in theatre, playing stock and legit plays like The Man From Mexico and Kingdom of Hearts Content prior to entering films, in 1913. Known for over 100 films, he worked for Selig, American, National and Universal, among others. He played opposite Mary Pickford in Daddy Long Legs, as well as, productions for Goldwyn and Paramount. Other film titles include One of the Finest, Girl From Outside, Happy Tho Married, Girl Dodger, The Monster, The Daughter of the Don, What Do Men Want? for Louis Weber, and Babes in the Jungle. . He made a dozen sound films, including Little Man, What Now? and Mary of Scotland with Katharine Hepburn, Fredric March, and Florence Eldridge, he left acting, and became an agent, representing several important actors and directors. According to an advertisement in “Billboard” from November 2, 1946, the Hallam Cooley Agency, was located at 9111 Sunset Boulevard, in Hollywood. Under a banner headline, “Gotta Script to sell?” His name was listed among several other agents, of the day. He also dabbled in assorted real estate ventures.
Most folks find it difficult to manage one career, let alone two, and be a success at both. Yet, Hallam did just that, while as an actor or as an talent agent, his other career was in real estate. In an article dated, October 4, 1925, in the “Los Angeles Times,” Hal was not only building a slated 14 room - five bath, three car garage home for himself, on the NW corner of Bedford Drive and Lomitas Avenue, in Beverly Hills, at a reported cost of $40,000.00 which was expected to be completed by December 1st. Hallam was also a successful licensed broker who was also planning to build other homes. In a subsequent “Los Angeles Times” article dated June 4, 1933, we learn of such a development being constructed in the Three Arch Bay neighborhood of Laguna Niguel, in Southern California. “Hallam Cooley, Inc., will begin work on a demonstration home. It will be of French Normandy type of architecture and will contain six rooms. Structure to cost $3,500.00 and built on a seventy foot lot.”
When it comes to researching his real vs reel life, two film titles seemingly fit the bill as bookends - first as his character of ‘the mystery man,’ from The Brass Bullet, and subsequently his many romances, brings to mind his title character of The Devilish Romeo. His many marriages seemingly fit his ‘Romeo’ mode. His first marriage, at 15 years of age, was to Viola L Johanson on November 6, 1910, in Waukegan, Illinois ended in either a divorce, or annulment. No actual records for either can be found, except mention in a small notation on his second marriage license. Viola later married a George Milton Gardner, in 1913. She died in May 8, 1976, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hallam’s second marriage was to Edna Clara Dorr, on May 1, 1912, however ended in divorce, with him paying alimony, according to a newspaper article, in the “Los Angeles Herald,” dated October 17, 1916. His third marriage was to Elizabeth Bates, on December 24, 1918, (some sources state on Christmas Day) by the Reverend J. Myers. Who was the same clergyman that officiated the Charles Chaplin and Mildred Harris wedding ceremony, a few weeks earlier. In the same article from “Moving Picture World,” dated January 18, 1919, we find out that his real name is Hallam Burr. It seems his mother deserted her husband, when Hal was just a baby, and never told him his real name, or anything about his father.
Hallam had a son named Ronald, with Edna, born on October 11, 1917, and died at the young age of 41, on January 26, 1958. There were two more children, one named George Aaron Burr, according to a newspaper blurb in October of 1919. The other had no name mentioned, both children died young, neither more than ten years of age. According to brief notices, no names are attached, but the other Cooley children died on February 24, 1927, and August 8, 1929.
Hal had left the screen as an actor in November of 1933, with exception to occasional small bits, and began an association as a talent agent with Harry Weber and Son. In 1935, he was now partners with the George Ullman Agency. He married a fourth time, to a dancer and actress, named Doris MacMahon, on August 1, 1935, with actor Johnny Mack Brown serving as usher. The reception followed at the Beverly Hills home of George Ullman. In the late 1940s and 50’s he and his wife spent their time entertaining and attending social events in Hollywood and Palm Springs. Hal also liked a variety of clubs supporting and belonging to Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Masonic Lodge #233, the California Yacht Club and Hollywood Athletic Club and Masquers.
After the death of Doris on August 30, 1961, at the age of 51, in San Francisco, her remains were cremated. Hallam married for a fifth time, to a Charlotte Maxine (Mina-Minor) Missamore on October 1, 1962, in Maine. Hallam reportedly passed away on March 20, 1971, at the age of 76, in Tiburon, California. Charlotte Maxine (Mina-Mina-Missamore) Cooley died at the age of 76 years, in October, 1993. In trying to piece together their relationship, records for Maxine and Hallam are confusing, to say the least, making a complete telling of their bond next to impossible, with seemingly more questions than answers.
Notes: A different and interesting side note to his life, as noted in a blurb in a 1920s “Los Angeles Herald” newspaper article, stated that “Hallam was a collector of signatures and treasures of film companies.” I often wonder whatever became of these treasures, he collected, after his death.

Re-watching Lizzie Mcguire: Episode 1.18 (Rated Aargh)
Tumblr media
I love this photo. They all look like they are about to lose their marbles.
- Perhaps this is one of my favourite opening scenes of any episode so far. Lizzie is laying down on the floor and is awaiting for Ethan to “blow in her mouth” while romantic music is playing in the background. That’s was she said...oh gosh, what is wrong with me?
Tumblr media
Animated Lizzie, as a supermodel. She looks like she’s by the ocean but I thought frogs can’t live in the ocean because of the salt water. I’m such a nerd lol
- Anyways, they are actually at health class, focusing on CPR training led by Coach Kelly and Lizzie is supposed to be the dummy. Ethan, as usual is lost and doesn’t know what to do. Coach Kelly loses her patience and asks Ethan to go back to his seat and Lizzie misses her opportunity to kiss Ethan. They really should use dummies instead of actual people to practice the CPR steps.
- She calls for Larry Tudgeman to come up and perform CPR on Lizzie. Lizzie immediately gets up and tries to get out of it but Coach Kelly is forcing her stay. Umm, no teacher should force their student to have their mouths be touched by another student’s unless of course, it’s for an emergency. Well, Larry puts his mouth on Lizzie’s and the results are just devastating lol.
Tumblr media
Did Larry and his friend just used the ‘Vulcan salutation’ gesture from Star Trek?
Teens Seeing An R-Rated Movie? Gasppp
- We cut to Lizzie rinsing her mouth at the water fountain, trying to remove any trace of Larry’s saliva from her mouth. She also gets made fun of by another kid at school for doing mouth to mouth CPR with Larry. Is Larry really that disgusting?
- Did Lizzie outright call Ethan dumb? Well, that’s a first! Gordo tells Lizzie and Miranda that he really wants to watch ‘Vesuvius: The Eruption’, an R-rated film starring Ben Affleck. Apparently, the word on the street is that most of the kids at school have already seen the movie, which is about an active volcano that erupts and destroys an ancient city. I actually remember learning what Mount Vesuvius is from English Literature class at school.
- The trio unanimously decide to watch Vesuvius together on Saturday but I can tell from their voices they’re feeling quite hesitant. Plus, they need someone’s parent to drive them to the movie cinema. But Gordo is adamant that they have to watch it. So, they come up with a plan or in Lizzie’s case, a script to convince their parents to let them watch the film.
Tumblr media
I was pretty sold by their speech but their parents still said “NO!”
Matt’s School Carnival
- Matt’s storyline in this episode begins with him telling his parents how excited he is that they will be building a booth at his upcoming school carnival. Both Sam and Jo are taken aback because they only volunteered to blow balloons. But with Matt, they have to expect the unexpected.
- They are hesitant at first but when Matt mentions about this kid named Jeff Thompson, she immediately thinks about his mom who always comes in 1st place at the bake sale. Jo seems to not like losing to her and her competitive spirit pushes her to want to participate in the carnival and have a better booth than Jeff’s mom.
- Matt suggest his own idea of what he wants to do at their booth but it’s definitely not feasible and not to mention, dangerous. Jo, always coming up with the good ideas, suggests they build a velcro wall.
Tumblr media
Aww, moments like this really warms my heart
Lizzie’s Attempt At Lying To Her Parents: Part 2
- At school, Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda are feeling bummed about not being able to watch Vesuvius. And it doesn’t help that other people are still talking about the movie.
Tumblr media
Lizzie’s ‘Larry reflex’ is actively working
- Gordo comes up with a plan for them to lie to their parents and tell them they want to play mini golf instead. Lizzie questions the plan because we all know how bad of a liar she is; Case in point, look up episode 1.12, ‘Between A Rock and A Bra Place’. But Gordo doesn’t think it’s lying. As he puts it, it’s a “last minute change in plans in advance”. Sure Gordo, that sounds legit.
- Back at home, Lizzie goes up to her mom to ask for her permission to go to the miniature golf course with Gordo and Miranda; Jo immediately says “yes” without questioning Lizzie. Well, I thought Lizzie sounded pretty believable when she asked her.
Getting The Tickets
- Our favourite trio arrive at the movie theatre but they still have one more hurdle to face and that is to buy the movie tickets without being turned down for being underage.
Tumblr media
Let’s just say from this guy’s expression, they did an awful job.
- The more you explain yourself, the more likely other people can pick up on your lies. Actually, Lizzie was almost able to get the tickets until she got turned off by the price of the tickets and asks whether there is an Under-14 discount. She just had to ask that question...
- Gordo suggests they sneak in through the back but unfortunately for them, the fire-exit door is locked. His other plan is for them to walk backwards and pretend like they just came out of the movie theatre whilst the previous movie-goers are exiting. His plan worked and they are able to sneak in without getting caught.
- Lizzie is ordering a bunch of food from the concession stand to make herself feel less guilty since she did not pay for her ticket. From what Miranda just explained, cinemas make most of their money from the sale of food and drinks. Is that really true?
- We suddenly hear a strange noise in the background, coming from a man who is chocking on something and needs help immediately. Gordo and Miranda frantically ask Lizzie to help that man since she knows how to do the Heimlich maneuver and she quickly goes to him to perform the technique, which is successful in getting a huge sour ball out from his windpipe.
Tumblr media
Miranda is really unlucky this time. But Gordo is even more unlucky. Miranda tends to not do or say anything when it comes to the sticky situations of others. Like the time she didn’t bother to open the locker for that kid who was stuck inside of it in episode 1.15.
- Looks like the stuff she learned from CPR training in health class proved to be useful for Lizzie; She saved a man from choking to death. Because of that, she and her friends are even being interviewed by the local news on TV! That’s so cool. But what they failed to realise before the interview is the fact that they will be seen on TV during the 6 o’clock news at the lobby of the rated-R movie. Basically, their parents might watch the news channel and see that their kids have lied to them and snuck in to watch Vesuvius.
Tumblr media
What is Gordo doing back there? hahahaha
Lizzie The Lying Hero
- We see Jo talking on the phone to someone from the movie theatre where Lizzie and her friends were in. She is told that Lizzie just saved a man’s life and as a reward, the cinema is rewarding them with free movie passes and a gift certificate. Oh, so Lizzie even gave her house number to the interviewer without remembering she lied to her parents?
- Jo eventually realises that Lizzie lied to her after Sam tells her that the theatre Lizzie was in is where Vesuvius is showing. Lizzie is definitely in trouble but hopefully that gets cancelled out for saving someone’s life.
- Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda arrive at Lizzie’s house and they discuss about making sure her parents don’t watch the news at 6 o’clock. What about Gordo and Miranda’s parents? Shouldn’t they be concerned about them too?
- Jo and Sam greet them and asks them questions about their non-existent mini golf game. As expected, they give conflicting answers, which makes them look even more guilty. However, just when Lizzie’s parents are about to turn on the TV to check the weather, Lizzie makes the decision to distract them by purposely dropping her dad’s gnome lamp onto the ground till it’s all shattered into pieces.
- Jo’s not budging though, despite her husband insisting that they head back to the kitchen to glue the lamp back together. She really wants to watch the news.
Tumblr media
Jo isn’t playing any games this time and I'm here for it.
- This time, Jo and Sam are playing mind tricks on the kids because now she’s suggesting they all go out to watch Vesuvius together. At this point, they realise that Jo and Sam already know about the whole sneaking into an R-rated movie plot. Yup, they are so getting it.
Closing Off
- Lizzie, Gordo and Miranda are on the photo talking about their respective punishments and how they’ve disappointed their parents. Miranda and Lizzie are grounded for a week while Gordo is grounded for 2 weeks and he has to write a 10-page paper on responsibility. Yikes! That’s pretty harsh. No wonder Gordo is a pretty wise guy for his age.
- Lizzie also has to glue Sam’s gnome lamp by herself and she needs to help out with Matt’s school carnival by peeling kids off the velcro wall. Speaking of that, Jo calls for Lizzie to come down and practise.
- First up, we have Matt:
Tumblr media
That looks really fun
- Next up, it’s Lizzie:
Tumblr media
Poor Sam; He was behind the wall when Lizzie jump onto it and caused it to fall over. Ouch! He is always getting hurt out in these streets lol
Overall Thoughts
- This episode was a solid B for me. The whole lying to your parents story-line has been done quite a number of times already. I did like the opening scene and I enjoyed the scene where Lizzie was doing the Heimlich maneuver on a man chocking on his food.
- But the stars of this episode to me were Sam and Jo Mcguire. It was a joy to watch them keep their cool and make Lizzie and her friends sweat from trying to keep their secret of sneaking into an R-rated movie from them. Lizzie really shouldn’t try lying to them anymore because they have their ways in finding out the truth.
- In terms of what I am able to take away from this episode, there’s nothing much besides what I’ve already learned in previous episodes. Another note I have is It’s quite interesting but weird how little we saw of Ethan in this episode. I mean, guest stars usually appear for a little while in episodes but he didn’t really leave much of an impact here unlike Larry. Well, at least to me.

If you love shopping, you can actually make money out of this interest by becoming a mystery shopper, also called secret shopper. A mystery shopper is someone who can, of course, shop, dine, buy things he wants but of course, with another purpose.
What makes a mystery shopper different from the normal shoppers is that they are tasked to act like a normal shopper or customer but has other purposes in mind. A secret shopper is someone who will take note of the shop's customer service, as well as other services so they can provide feedback to the company or the shop owner on how their employees are receiving customers and how the employees handle customer service, their professionalism, their ability on sales, as well as their knowledge on the products.
If you want to learn how to be a mystery shopper, here a few tips on how you can get this exciting opportunity.
- Prepare yourself to beat competition if you want to learn how to be a mystery shopper. Keep in mind that in presenting yourself as an applicant for mystery shopper, you have to outsmart others as this can be a job that, of course, a lot of people would be interested in. Highlight your experiences that may boost your chances of getting hired as a secret shopper as well.
- Assess your strengths. To learn how to be a mystery shopper, you have to take note that mystery shoppers or secret shoppers are not just tasked to purchase from the store. They may also be ebayshoppers  assigned to do other tasks such as inquiring services on the store, observing the flow of business, as well as complaining on a particular service. With this, to be a secret shopper, you have to be a keen observer and a good actor as well. At times you may be asked to memorize a script that you can deliver to the store as part of your task of getting feedbacks.
- Research on mystery shopping companies where you can register. You can start your research on the internet but of course, you have to keep in mind that registration as well as the training, instruction sheets, and manuals are free of charge, thus be wary of scams and other fake agencies.
- Have a commitment. Although being a secret shopper is a fun and exciting job, it does require full commitment. Therefore, you have to be committed to the job to be able to get not only one contract but a few good offers after your first assignment. Of course, you have to impress your company to be able to get more mystery shopping offers. The more effective you are in the tasks that are given to you, the more work you will be given as well.
- Get a certification from mystery shoppers associations. If you want a good steady stream of opportunities as a secret shopper, it will be advantageous if you can get a certification from mystery shopping providers association. Secret Shopper industry has certainly gotten a bad name over the last several years, but the truth is there are legit home shoppers businesses out there. They key to finding one is to not get roped into the countless "less than honest" opportunities concerning this industry. This article will discuss in detail how to avoid getting scammed.
The fact is that many folks would love to work from home, shopping and making money at it! The popularity fo the secret shopper programs has resulted in endless deceptive schemes designed to defraud the would be shoppers. Many of these schemes are within the gray area of the law, but mislead folks into thinking there is a legitimate money making opportunity when the opportunity is non-existent or obscure in the particular organization.
Where Scams Are Found and How to They Work?
Many of these scams are found in advertisements on the internet or various classified ads in newspapers. They are designed to defraud the job seeker, so there will be some reason for the "Job seeker" to pay the organization money upfront. The ads usually claim that the agent has a database of companies who wish to hire secret shoppers for big money making assignments. When the list actually reaches the shopper it is less than it has been purported to be.
Some of these schemes are even more elaborate. For example a secret shopper assignment evaluating different "wire transfer services." There are countless variations but they all involved the shopper paying for something upfront. These scams can get very sophisticated and many of these companies actually provide evaluation forms, training materials, contracts for the secret shoppers, as well as testimony from other successful shoppers who made "big money!"

Anniversary Month - A Himmmm Blind Item
If you’re familiar with the CDAN blog, then you’ll know that Enty isn’t the only one who posts there. There’s also a guy who goes by the alias Himmmm who is an industry insider. This person doesn’t just write short blind item’s, but long articles exposing people. Some think it’s an actor. Some even thought that it was Robert Downey Jr, who denied it. He recently wrote another post and Emma was mentioned in it.
This is a tough one to write, simply for the challenge of not giving it away and damaging anything before it happens.  It's amazing it has been kept this quiet for so long, but I'm sure it'll leak out after the Oscars.  Anything this big is bound to. Like the old saying goes: "If you want to keep a secret between three people in Hollywood – two of them better be dead".  No, there's no murders or deaths surrounding this film, yet.  But the story it is based on sure had plenty. What I'm talking about is a movie.  A big movie that will be one of those rarities that is both Oscar lure and box office success.  A+ list all the way, big budgets, big talent, and every A+ list actress/actor in the industry wanting to be a part of it.  The secrecy around it is unlike anything in history.  They're not even using a fake name as cover, it's totally off-book.  Right now, they have more attorneys involved in this project than filmmakers, crew, or elements.  Maybe the first time in history a Hollywood studio has employed publicists to PREVENT people from knowing about it.  They even hired social media ninjas to comb the internet to shoot down and remove mentions of it.  I even wonder if it'll stay long on CDAN.  I've not seen this much secrecy on a film since Jurassic Park.  Even Avengers, or Star Wars Force Awakens wasn't this paranoid.  So why all the fuss?
It's a porno. Yep.  Uh-huh.  A porno.  Okay, to be fair – it's about a porno star, not an actual porno.  So if you're thinking Boogie Nights or those Deep Throat – Linda Lovelace films, you're asking: So what? What's the big deal? They even have The Deuce on HBO.  Why so secretive? Because comparing this film project to those is like comparing Plan 9 From Outer Space or Lost In Space to the entire Star Wars saga or Avatar.  Point is that this project is so huge and prestigious that it makes the others look like a "Skin-emax" soft core indie film.  Mostly though, it is because in the current social/scandal climate surrounding Hollywood these days they put the lock-down on this project for good reason.  They don't want leaks leading to people accusing the filmmakers of being tone-deaf insensitive; and they also absolutely do not want to get flooded by every perv in Hollywood trying to get a part or be part of it.  A single casting couch rumor on this project would torpedo it.   So they've gone to insane lengths to protect it.  Not long ago, this (disgraced A list director/Brett Ratner) was set to do a big-budget adult-themed project (about a permanent A list celebrity/Hefner Film) that got torpedoed over his abuse accusations.  When a studio already has tens of millions sunk in a project, they cannot let that happen. Especially in high-dollar ironclad play-or-pay deals (not to be confused with pay-for-play, tit-for-tat, barter, couching, or land yachting). It's like this: This movie is about one very specific female actress who was known mainly in the 1980s era of porn.  It is a biopic in that sense.  But her fame was such in her time that she crossed over to more mainstream top-shelf publications, and even television interviews. Possibly the most beautiful all-American girl next door to ever have a hardcore career.  If you're thinking it is (former underage porn star/Traci Lords) you would be wrong.  But she's a featured character in it too.   Thing is, the star of the story disappeared. Vanished into thin air after her last film.  Not vanished dead, because she went on to have a different life.  She went to law school, became an attorney, changed her name and had a nice family.  Typical soccer mom, Sunday-school teacher, holly homemaker type.  Until a few years ago when she was contacted by people who represented the last big mafia family. They were looking to sell their holdings in porn to a legit media company for big bucks.  Problem is, she was one of their most popular stars and she had a unique contract in her day (which allegedly she co-wrote herself back then with her law professor).  She quit and vanished from porn due to the mob taking over her porn studio, and killing many of the owners of it.  Years later, turns out she was owed millions in back royalties – and her contract was still legally enforceable.  The legit media buyers wouldn't proceed without her signature on a new contract; or her accepting a settlement; or…her death certificate.  Yep.  The mob had to either pay her or kill her.  Which was tricky to do, because even if they found her – the FBI still wanted to bring her in as a witness against the mob hits of her bosses.  Then it got ugly for her, and turned into quite a ride.  Turns out, she lived and prevailed.  Using her brilliance instead of her body.  But it was one hell of a bumpy ride. Best of all? It was ALL TRUE.  It resulted in the FBI actually getting plea deals with mobsters; clearing 30 year-old mob hit murders; and solving money laundering cases worth tons of money globally.  The legit media company got the old porn library titles and reaped a billion from it.  And it all really happened.  She also got her money, and peace. It's one of the best scripts to come through Hollywood in decades, and has an amazing role for the lead actress.  Best of all it includes life rights, and the lady ex-porn star's willingness to promote it.  It is a package that includes documentaries, media stories, and specials.  The studio that bought it agreed to use cross-promotion synergy from many of their media divisions to tell her story.  In any era of the entertainment industry it would be a welcome change for such great material and a big project.  But, as you all know – this isn't any era. It is a very sensitive era, especially telling women's stories, porn stories, and having lots of sex and nudity on a project. If the project isn't done right, in the right tone with the right people? It'll be destroyed before it ever opens purely by social media, rumors, and speculations from knee-jerkers who will attack it without any idea of it.  That has happened or nearly happened many times in the past.  So the conglomerate/studio who is producing it has set up a massive legal, security, and IT security team that would rival a government's.  Everything to do with the project is kept on off-line isolated secure computers.  Nothing is allowed to be taken in, or out.   They do not even let the team working on the movie bring in mobile phones or devices.  An entire 25% of the studio's legal staff are devoted to this one project.  Clearing rights, contracts, and mostly NDA's that would make an intelligence agency jealous.  The punishment for violation by actors? So severe and massive that it would basically blacklist and possibly bankrupt not just the actor, but their agents and managers.  It's that extreme.  But few would risk that anyway, since even (permanent A list mostly movie actress/Meryl Streep) has supposedly offered to do a small role in the project for scale just to be part of it. Somehow, I don't think they want her for the lead. Of course, nothing is totally foolproof or totally private.  When the studio (they have wide ranging entertainment industries/Warner) first pre-emptively gobbled up the rights to it a year ago, they originally did it with this star (disgraced former A list mostly movie actor/Kevin Space) in mind for the older male lead.  Whoops. Then when this company (disgraced A list director's company/Ratpac Dune) got slammed in scandal, the studio had to find a quick co-financing partner.  Whoops again.  So they shared the project with a few select investors.  They too were subject to the legal lockdown but the studio needs them more than they need the studio, so not much threat there.  Interestingly, one investor stepped right up and wrote the studio a blank check because the project is so good.  Recently, the investor swallowed up the entire project, buying the rights from the studio, and has threatened to take it to (a studio that owns a theme park/Universal) is this studio doesn't shape up. The producers got the best director (A lister who had a very good 2017/Christopher Nolan) for this project.  As picky as he is, he jumped at this project.  He's not known for his heartfelt movies, but with this script and his recent hit (Dunkirk) he's given wide berth.  He's one of the few that could be trusted with this material, and do it proper without risk of any problems derailing it. The studio used this project as bait to try and lure him to other projects (his old project/Batman), but he won't commit to those.  Meanwhile, the studio and director have held semi-formal casting sessions very, very, very secretly. Every actress is told to bring an attorney or manager; a studio attorney is present; a female casting director; and every meeting is video recorded.  All because of the "casting couch" temptations – not by the director, but by eager actresses.  Also due to the adult nature of the story, and the fact that it will have reams of nudity and sex.  This will not be one of those PG-13 movies about sex, it'll be very true to the script.  This actress (A list mostly movie actress who worked with the director before/Ane Hathaway) already said she'd do anything for the lead; as did (foreign born A- list mostly movie actress/Marion Cotillard), and (foreign born B+ list mostly movie actress who was barely old enough to drive when that gross French actor had sex with her before casting her/Melanie Laurent), and (A+ list mostly movie actress who is an Oscar winner/nominee/Jennifer Lawrence), and (A list mostly movie actress who is an Oscar winner/nominee/Jessica Chastain).  It's crazy, but only one of those even has a shot at the lead.  Even (former A+ list mostly movie actress/America's sweetheart/Sandra Bullock) and (foreign born A- list mostly movie actress who had a franchise back in the day and could use a career boost/Emma Watson) have told their agents to get them auditions.  Actresses who "never read" or audition are jumping at it. These actresses are offering to work for scale, do anything required onscreen, and sign unprecedented promotion agreements.  This actress (foreign born A list mostly movie actress who is a recent Oscar nominee/Margot Robbie) has already auditioned for a supporting role.   Funny enough, this actress (former A list singer/number one box office star in a different country/Jessica Simpson) auditioned for the same role.  I don't think it'll be a fair fight to see who wins that one although I can see the box-office appeal of the latter's scenes being a big draw.  I've heard (A-/B+ list mostly movie actress who was married to a celebrity offspring/Diane Lane) has given one of the best reads thus far.  For male leads, this actor (foreign born A+ list mostly movie actor/Christian Bale) has said he too would waive his fee, and possibly return to a franchise for the studio.  Guess he's getting pumped up for it.  Meanwhile, it's said (permanent A list mostly movie actor who started in television and had a nice run there/George Clooney), and (permanent A list mostly movie actor despite his relatively young age/Leonardo DiCaprio),  and this actor (permanent A list mostly movie actor who has made a ton of money in a superhero franchise/Robert Downey Jr.) have all agreed to audition and read.  I cannot tell you how unusual that is.  It is one of the rare times lately when the material really seems to be king (and not how many toys you can sell – although toys related to this movie sure wouldn't be sold in Wal-Mart). During the hoopla around the Golden Globes, many A+ listers were fighting the urge to discuss the project though they knew the others knew.  Sort of like a secret club.  Many actresses used it as a cover story to happen to be in town at the same time auditions were ongoing.   Likewise, during the coming Oscars week, the director and studio will be wrapping up major casting under the same cover of people all being in town.  Yes, it is that big of a deal.  I personally cannot wait, and hope it comes off without a hitch.  We probably won't have to wait too long.  Any project with that much heat will get a quick greenlight.   That's the sexiest thing of all.  Especially if you're producing it.

10:27am
I went to the Dr this morning just to get an updated mental health plan.
I cried.
She gave me the day off.
She looked at my K10 and said “some of this is really bad” and in true Kate form I was like “it’s been worse” (legit with finger guns).
I finally caved and got a prescription for some antidepressants.
I’m not sure I’m going to take them or not, but having the script is a huge leap.
I told her I was worried about gaining more weight. She said to me “there’s nothing wrong with being fat, but if it’s making you miserable then we can work on it.”
I told her I watched my dad take pills for years but that he seems to enjoy being sick so they didn’t work. Which in my brain translates to if I want it bad enough I can get well without the pills.
She reminded me about the meds I take for my thyroid and that I can’t fix that through positive thinking. She reminded me that this is an illness.
There’s no pressure for me to take the meds but I’ve never seen a doctor write a prescription or a medical certificate so quickly.
I’ve been crying a lot the last couple of days. Mr B has been an angel.
And that’s where I’m at right now.
My depression is really bad. My anxiety is bad.
It feels like such a contradiction and I feel guilty for being sad because I’m happy in my life.
Anyway. That’s all for now.

Quality Standards in the Translation Industry | LenguaePro
Tumblr media
The translation industry is a widely enhanced industry. Nowadays translation service is the need of the hour for global businesses and development companies. Translation services are mostly used by publishing houses be it traditional or self-publishers.
The search to have the most prominent translation agency continues till the global business finds their perfect fit.
LenguaePro, a Professional Translation in Connecticut provides assured quality standard translation service all over the globe.
The quality of the translation service is the most integral part of the service. Apart from publishing houses translation services are included in IP, Medical, Legal, and accounting, and technical industries. In such cases, if the quality of the translation service is not good then it can lead to loss of health, business, and value. There is a reason why quality is important in translation. Suppose we are having our translation done by a particular translation service provider, what if they don’t get the translation right this could lead us to complications and can cause any kind of loss in the business structure.
To ensure the quality standards of the company quality management system (QMS) are being set up to keep a track of the quality system. These companies keep their QMS certified by legit certifications. This helps them in developing and maintaining their client’s trust which in return puts them in a plum position in the market.
Quality in the case of translation is often based on how well the script is conveying what it has to say after the translation.
To maintain the quality and to keep an eye on the same certification companies, translation service audits are being conducted.
These audits are conducted to check whether the company is complying with the set quality measures or not; this is to verify that the company is working as per the parameters on which their QMS is certified. After the audit is complete the audit report is submitted to the company quality manager and CEO.  In the event of non-conformities, a Nonconformity report (NRP) is submitted as well. The quality certificate is only renewed after the non-conformities have been corrected.
ISO Certifications :
ISO certification is considered a legitimate certification for quality purposes. For translation services, there are ISO standards present that are approved by many international organizations and countries.
ISO standards are actually quality standards that are internationally agreed upon and followed to maintain the quality and process of the translation service. It is followed to have consistent results and good customer relations.
There are 4 kinds of ISO standards to maintain the quality :
ISO 9001:2015- When a company follows this standard they are meant to be committed to providing quality work and are dedicated to taking their quality seriously. ISO 9001 defines the objectives of the QMS and the policies mentioned in it. requirements related to documentation control, purchasing, working with subcontractors, human resources, internal quality audits, handling non-conformities, and other internal operations.
ISO17100:2015- Under this certification, the company complies with the four eyes technique. Under this four eyes technique, the content which is translated is set to be reviewed by multiple individuals so that they can actually verify mistakes which the first person couldn’t find. Under this, the content should be translated by two different linguists. This process also makes it cost-effective for the company as there is no further need of hiring translators and reviewers, measuring translation quality and customer satisfaction, accounting practices, measuring customer satisfaction, and handling customer complaints.
ISO 18587:2017- This standard is something new to this because it follows a whole new and different setup of quality measurement. Post-Editing Machine Translation (PEMT). The purpose of the standard is to provide assurance for the process of full, human post-editing of machine translation output and post-editors competencies.
ISO 13485:2016- This standard is specifically for the medical field. The translation is also required in the medical field as there is documentation and medicinal information that needs to be deciphered. There are some companies that have taken licenses for this standard specifically.
Translation services are a vital part of many specific fields and these ISO standards make them more secure and trustworthy to use.
After so many rules and regulations, there is one question that arises.
Do we really need quality standards?
Well, quality standards are basically for our own benefit. If these standards are not present in the market then these translation services will be free. let me describe this to you with an example, suppose you go to a translation service provider and gives them your content for translation and they provide you with the translated content now you find that your content is not translated properly you find some mistakes in the particular at this point of time you go to the provider and asks for their quality report, there it says we follow 90% accuracy but your content is not even close to that 90% then what you can do if there is no regulation over them neither you can sue them nor file a complaint against them. But if there is a quality standard then the company will follow it because they don’t want their name to be spoiled in the market for not following the quality measures they don’t want so that the reputation of their company gets on the verge of getting spoiled.
Lenguae Pro, Certified Translation Services in Connecticut assures a quality standard translation at each documentation. That is the reason why there is a need for a set of quality measures to be present in the market to regulate the translation industry.
Having the knowledge about the quality measure can help one person select the best translation service for them. These quality measures also help in maintaining customer trust in the particular field.
Well, all the process of translation service depends on the people doing it. Translation quality standards are just a cherry on the cake to ensure customer belief, it doesn’t act as a substitute to the one who is working as a translator.
